This document describes an automatic irrigation system that senses soil moisture content and controls water pumps automatically. The system is designed to facilitate automatic water supply from a reservoir to crops. It continuously monitors soil moisture using sensors to decide if irrigation is needed. When power is on, the system automatically switches on the pump if the sensors detect low moisture levels in the soil. The system has four subsystems: a power supply, sensing units to detect moisture, a control unit, and an automatic irrigation control mechanism. It has several components including moisture sensors, a microcontroller, water pump, and electronics. Benefits are that it is sensitive, low cost, reliable, and eliminates manual labor, while drawbacks are limited applicability and lifespan. Future extensions
