INTRODUCTION
Without a proper irrigation system, agriculture is impossible. Earlier, the farmers are using traditional
methods to irrigate their crops.
Nowadays, scientists and researchers are working to develop new innovative techniques to properly
irrigate the crop according to their requirement.
Crops have need a measurable amount of water for good amount of productivity. Excess or lack of
water in soil leads to water logging which cause diseases in crops.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
 Over 70 percent of the rural population depends on agriculture.
 The contribution of agriculture GDP is about to 18% and have contributed up to
50% of the country's employment.
 The prediction indicates that requirement to feed a world population of 9.1
billion people in 2050 necessitates the raise of total meal production nearby 70%
between 2005 and 2050.
 To achieve the best quality from this research, it is important to focus on some
vital characteristics such as the appropriate amount of electricity as well as water
supply and a suitable schedule for irrigation of crops.
 This project looks into developing an automated irrigation system that could be
controlled through mobile application.(Blynk APP)
OBJECTIVES
1.
• To develop the basic switching mechanism of motor using sensors by sensing
moisture present in the soil and surrounding humidity and temperature.

• The goals of developing automatic irrigation system, automatically control
through software in a way that user to monitor all information and manage the
device immediately from mobile.
3
• This system will work to minimize Labor cost, Save Time, electricity and
Prevents uneven watering.
REQUIRED HARDWARE
NodeMCU
NODEMCU is an open source
platform based on ESP8266
which can connect objects
and let data transfer using
the Wi-Fi protocol.
Inbuilt Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
module .
DHT11
The DHT11 is a basic,
ultra low-cost digital
temperature and humidity
sensor.
We can get new data from
it once every 2 seconds.
Soil Moisture Sensor
Soil moisture
sensors measure or
estimate the amount of
water in the soil.
RELAY MODULE
The relay module is an
electrically operated switch
that can be turned on or off
deciding to let current flow
through or not.
REQUIRED HARDWARE
Pump + Pipe Battery Connecting Wires Mobile Phone
PERPOSED SYSTEM
• The standpoint make by using the soil moisture/temperature and humidity
sensors to sense the moisture level in the soil and required temperature and
humidity in surrounding air.
• Decision making algorithm is implemented to make decisions based on the
assigned moisture and temperature level for the prior crop.
• User can operate manually through the android application.
• Data will be stored in the database.

SCOPE
1. Automation : user can automatically operate on (turn ON or OFF) valve
2. User friendly, Cost effective, More safe.
3. Irrigation that saves time and water.
4. Prevents uneven watering.
5. Avoid mistakes.
6. Extends the life of plants
7. Water can be directed to where it really needs to be.
8. Water can be delivered at optimal levels for plant growth.
CONCLUSION
The components that we use in the system are readily available and easy to
operate and user friendly.
This system acts as an effectual method of irrigation.
It is far better than the manual irrigation process which requires a lot of
manpower and time.
The ability to conserves the natural resources as well as giving a splendid boost
to the production of the crops is one of the aim of implementing such technology
into the agricultural domain.

  • 3. INTRODUCTION Without a proper irrigation system, agriculture is impossible. Earlier, the farmers are using traditional methods to irrigate their crops. Nowadays, scientists and researchers are working to develop new innovative techniques to properly irrigate the crop according to their requirement. Crops have need a measurable amount of water for good amount of productivity. Excess or lack of water in soil leads to water logging which cause diseases in crops.
  • 4. PROBLEM STATEMENT  Over 70 percent of the rural population depends on agriculture.  The contribution of agriculture GDP is about to 18% and have contributed up to 50% of the country's employment.  The prediction indicates that requirement to feed a world population of 9.1 billion people in 2050 necessitates the raise of total meal production nearby 70% between 2005 and 2050.  To achieve the best quality from this research, it is important to focus on some vital characteristics such as the appropriate amount of electricity as well as water supply and a suitable schedule for irrigation of crops.  This project looks into developing an automated irrigation system that could be controlled through mobile application.(Blynk APP)

OBJECTIVES 1. • To develop the basic switching mechanism of motor using sensors by sensing moisture present in the soil and surrounding humidity and temperature. 2 • The goals of developing automatic irrigation system, automatically control through software in a way that user to monitor all information and manage the device immediately from mobile. 3 • This system will work to minimize Labor cost, Save Time, electricity and Prevents uneven watering.
  • 6. REQUIRED HARDWARE NodeMCU NODEMCU is an open source platform based on ESP8266 which can connect objects and let data transfer using the Wi-Fi protocol. Inbuilt Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module . DHT11 The DHT11 is a basic, ultra low-cost digital temperature and humidity sensor. We can get new data from it once every 2 seconds. Soil Moisture Sensor Soil moisture sensors measure or estimate the amount of water in the soil. RELAY MODULE The relay module is an electrically operated switch that can be turned on or off deciding to let current flow through or not.
  • 7. REQUIRED HARDWARE Pump + Pipe Battery Connecting Wires Mobile Phone

PERPOSED SYSTEM • The standpoint make by using the soil moisture/temperature and humidity sensors to sense the moisture level in the soil and required temperature and humidity in surrounding air. • Decision making algorithm is implemented to make decisions based on the assigned moisture and temperature level for the prior crop. • User can operate manually through the android application. • Data will be stored in the database.

  • 11. SCOPE 1. Automation : user can automatically operate on (turn ON or OFF) valve 2. User friendly, Cost effective, More safe. 3. Irrigation that saves time and water. 4. Prevents uneven watering. 5. Avoid mistakes. 6. Extends the life of plants 7. Water can be directed to where it really needs to be. 8. Water can be delivered at optimal levels for plant growth.

CONCLUSION The components that we use in the system are readily available and easy to operate and user friendly. This system acts as an effectual method of irrigation. It is far better than the manual irrigation process which requires a lot of manpower and time. The ability to conserves the natural resources as well as giving a splendid boost to the production of the crops is one of the aim of implementing such technology into the agricultural domain.
