This document summarizes Joe McVey's presentation about West Virginia University's implementation of real-time document indexing when applications are submitted through their TargetX Online Application system. It describes the key components involved - Axiom to import applications into Banner, Conga Composer to create PDFs, Salesforce workflows to trigger processes, Informatica Cloud to save PDFs to a network share, and Banner Document Management to index the documents. The end result is applications can now be indexed within a minute of submission rather than waiting for nightly processes, providing a significant efficiency gain for application reviews.

[Srijan Wednesday Webinar] Building BPMN Web Portals with Camunda and DrupalSrijan Technologies
Speaker: Ishan Mahajan, Program Manager, Srijan Technologies
Enterprises today have multiple teams and several applications working in tandem. In such situations, combining a BPMN workflow engine with your content management system gives you a lot of flexibility in managing tasks, and keeping your teams in sync.
Camunda, an open source, Java-based workflow engine can provide intelligent workflows for large enterprises. And if you are using Drupal as your enterprise CMS, it becomes very easy to design and implement a BPMN web portal that combines these two technologies. Join the webinar for a Drupal-Camunda tutorial that explains how to deploy a Camunda-Drupal connector module, and what are the business benefits for an enterprise.
Who's This For?
- Developers and architects who regularly integrate Drupal with other softwares, within large enterprises.
- Developers and architects who are interested in learning more about Drupal's REST API capabilities and how Drupal is a great fit for creating web portals for backend enterprise software.
- Developers and architects interested in learning about Camunda
What's In It For You?
- Learn why you need a Camunda-Drupal integration
- Understand when to use a Camunda-Drupal integration
- Understand how does a Camunda-Drupal integration actually work, and how to implement it

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Document Indexing
● Associating a document with a database record
● Critical when transitioning to paperless processes
● WVU utilizes Banner Document Management (BDM)
● BDM is a small component of this process
5. Banner Document Management (BDM)
● Handles document indexing
● Banner ID is the index
● Placed in location on document
● Document placed in network share
● BDM locates index and associates document to student’s record
6. Our Use Case
● Banner school
● TargetX client since 2016
● Began TargetX Online
Application implementation in
2017
● Important documents indexed to
student’s record
● PDF of application data at the
time of submission
● Helpful when reviewing
applications
7. TargetX Online App - 2017
● Beckley and Keyser go live for
undergraduate students
● Conga template was created
● Applications imported into
Banner as they come in
● Staff usually reviewed
applications from previous day
● Nightly processes were set up to
create the PDFs and index them
● Conga Batch (formerly
Conductor)
● Informatica
8. #TargetXSummit
TargetX Online App - 2018
● Morgantown goes live for undergraduate students
● Assumed the current imaging process would work
● Old application imported records to Banner nightly
● TargetX applications import to Banner in near real-time
● Staff started reviewing applications before nightly imaging processes could
create the application image and index it
● Application can’t be reviewed without the image
● How do we fix this?
10. Real-time indexing – can it be done?
● Yes!
● Multiple components working
together
● How do we make it work for us?
● Conga Composer
● Salesforce Workflow Rules
● Conga Trigger
● Informatica Cloud
11. #TargetXSummit
High-Level Overview
● Student submits their application
● Axiom imports it into Banner
● Axiom updates values, causing a workflow rule to start Conga Trigger
● Conga saves a print date, filename, and PDF as an attachment
● Another workflow rule fires, saving an export date and starting Informatica
● The PDF is grabbed from Salesforce
● Next, the PDF is saved to a network folder
● Finally, the PDF is indexed by BDM
15. Conga Trigger / Workflow Rule
● Heads up: You’ll need a working
Conga image before you can
use Conga Trigger
● Salesforce workflow rule –
outbound message
● Starts after Axiom saves the
record into Banner
● Runs Conga Composer
19. #TargetXSummit
Informatica – Automation
● Step 6 of a data sync task gives you schedule options
● Selecting the third option generates a unique URL that can be used in a
Salesforce workflow outbound message to trigger this task to run
20. Informatica / Workflow Rule
● Salesforce workflow rule – outbound message
● Sends two fields – application object ID and attachment filename
● When triggered, this workflow tells Informatica to run and which file to grab
