The KJV And The Lincoln Commentary (Word Biblical...
3 Roles The KJV and the Lincoln commentary (Word Biblical Commentary series) The number of
roles in the church in this scripture comes down to the interpretations of the conjunctions used in this
scripture, the use of πρὸς once and the use of εἰς twice: πρὸς τὸν καταρτισμὸν τῶν ἁγίων the
perfecting of the saints εἰς ἔργον διακονίας, for [the] work of ministry, εἰς οἰκοδομὴν τοῦ σώματος τοῦ

conjunctions above are coordinate, meaning that it links three equal statements together, one subject to
another. Christ (subject) gave these component heads (apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds and
teachers) for perfecting the saints, for the work of ministry, for the body of Christ. With this in ...

Re: Group Ariel Parity Conditions and Cross Border Valuation
Group Ariel, a global manufacturer of printing and imaging equipment, has to evaluate a proposal

When IRP amp; PPP do not hold, the NPV using different computation method will be different.
However, even with a significant depreciation, the NPV for this investment is always positive, which

Essay on James Joyce s Dubliners
Dubliners
James Joyce wrote the book Dubliners; Joyce expresses many different types of emotions throughout
the book. The emotions portray individuals in society, and light and dark. The emotions of individuals
are examined throughout the stories by other members in society. The stories that express the ideas
are: The Encounter, Eveline , and The Dead. The symbolism of individuals in society expresses many
different situations that are happening in the characters lives. The symbolism of light goes along with
the idea of feeling happy and enjoying life. The theme of dark shows the individuals fighting, and
having a negative outlook on life.
The story of the Encounter expresses different images of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story of Eveline shows the images of the girl s past being the image of dark, and her future the
image of light. The promise made between her and her mother holds her back from moving on with
her life. She feels that she is confused with leaving or staying. She remembered the last night of her
mother s illness; she was again in the close dark room at the other side of the hall and outside she
heard a melancholy air of Italy (33). The feeling of being portrayed of being lost between her past and
her future. She wants more, but doesn t want to go against her mothers wish. The story of Eveline
gives different perspectives of the society. The society plays a major factor in the roles of the
characters with the decisions they make. She feels parted from her family and the society puts a toll on
her feelings. In her home anyway she had shelter and food; she had those who she had known all her
life about her (30). The life she used to have is different than the life she wants to take with Frank.
Frank feels pressured to make the right decisions to make him look good in the society. Eveline
expresses how much the society has an impact on the individuals and how they interact with each
other.
The confusion of the Dead shows many different images of the themes of light and dark. The images
show the characters feelings at harsh,

The Reality Of Reality Television Shows Essay
Reality TV shows are a type of program that film real/ordinary people, with a notion of entertainment
than information. These programs attempt to show how an ordinary person behaves or react in their
daily life or in certain situation. Shows that promise more drama, suspense, romance, laughter, etc.
that one could relate to real experiences, is what audience enjoy. Reality TV shows are a genre in
which real people are shadowed closely by cameras. Television shows have the power to shape one
perspective towards various aspects of life and it the society that relegates individuals to be
competitive and exploitative of individuals and situations to make sure their survival. The various
ideologies presented through reality TV shows are quiet successful as the word reality itself suggests
that its based on real people and what the viewers see is a real life representation of people and their
actions. The show America s Next Top Model is a successfully running American reality television

What Was The Causes Of Rwanda Genocide
One horrific, though often overlooked, genocide took place in Rwanda, Africa from April to July
1994. The tiny, landlocked country saw mass killings and state sponsored hatred of the Tutsi people by
the Hutu. Rwanda was divided into three major clans the Tutsi, which made up about 15% of the
population and were the paler group favored by the English and Belgian colonists, and therefore were
originally chosen to rule the country after the European takeover. This greatly angered the Hutus,
about 84% of the population, (the Twa, the third group, were only 1% of Rwandans, didn t have much
to do with the genocide), so they were eventually given the ability to gain professional political
positions as well, a right that had been taken away with the

Shel Silverstein, the author of, Where the Sidewalk Ends , was a musician and poet known for writing
children books such as, The Giving Tree (Shel Silverstein). He was born on September 25, 1930 and
died on May 8, 1999 (Shel Silverstein). Throughout his life Mr.Silverstein, worked in many diverse
occupations ranging from the military to becoming an author (Shel Silverstein). Because majority of
his books and poems were for children, they (the books and poems) often incorporated positive
imagery, metaphors, etc. In the poem, Where The Sidewalk Ends , Shel Silverstein uses imagery, shift,

This contrast relates to the theme because it shows how an adult can negatively be affected by
materialistic things such as money. In the first stanza there is a strong use of positive imagery
representing a child s mind. For example, grass grows soft and white , gives a floral and peaceful
description about the place used in the description. However, in the second stanza there is the use of
negative imagery. The imagery used helps to describe a dark and lifeless city, a phrase which
influences this would be, smoke blows black , which means pollution. Within the second stanza, the
narrator introduces personal pronouns. These pronouns influence the reader s thoughts about the

The Inspired Kantian Non Formalism Analysis
Chapter Four
The Inspired Kantian Non Formalism
The interpretation of Kant as a moral formalist or constructivist precisely, has been dominant in much
of the recent secondary literature on Kant in English speaking world, for Silber, Rawls and O Neill we
analyzed. Those interpretations have lately come under sustained philosophical attack by the
defenders of a non moral formalist or realist interpretation of Kant. We have mentioned at the outset,
the essential division for formalist and non formalist is in their understanding C1 as a formal
accomplishment or not. So far we have seen the formalist holds out for the preeminence of
universalzation in the hierarchy of principles, i.e. the buttressing rules Rawls or O Neill posed. Now
we are to see how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The concept of moral law springs from pure reason or reason that exists separate from empirical
considerations. Since pure reason is able to be relevant to material action, we see a conceptual bridge
is constructed in the form of the maxim, to the degree that it is tested in accordance to prescriptive
law, a determinate rule of action. This determination, it must be stressed, is voluntary and subjectively
constructed, while the basis of the analysis, this intend to act from duty, is based on an understanding
of moral law.
Hence, Dietrichson points out a non formal approach to explain Kant, it is non formal because it raises
the humanity the material for Kant to guide action. Precisely, because the pure reason enables us to
grasp the moral law, we are striking to fulfill the requirement to act from duty as it constitutes purity
of our humanity. Dietrichson did not see the formula of moral law as formal accomplishment that
reason alone could indentify moral law, but it must have non formal

Radiology Application Essay
I am thrilled to be choosing Radiology as the path to becoming the kind of doctor I ve always
envisioned: intelligent, collaborative, and compassionate.
Radiologists serve as cornerstones in the practice of medicine. Time and again, I ve seen diagnosis and
treatment dependent on proper understanding of imaging. As a Physics nerd, I am intrigued by the
cutting edge of technology. My fondest memories of the OR include being swept away by the miracle
of image guided surgery. Our patient had been diagnosed with brain cancer, and the tumor was
scheduled for resection. Rather than make an incision and expose the operative area as I d seen many
times in general surgery, the neurosurgeon was able to utilize an instrument that transmitted its
position and trajectory to a computer and projected this information onto pre operative MRI. In this
way, the surgeon was able to follow in real time the precise location of his surgical instruments for a
minimally invasive tumor resection. This was my first real ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

density in the region of the spleen but was unsure exactly what I was looking at. A very patient
radiologist introduced me to the principles of splenic injury grading and how to utilize a systematic
approach in the reading of films. This really opened my eyes to a new level of reasoning and sparked
my interest in becoming a radiologist. In learning how to translate shadows into pathology, I began to
understand what I previously saw as a mystery in medicine. I am excited to utilize this knowledge and

Juxtaposition In The Grapes Of Wrath
The Vines of Vindication
Economic tragedy can seem to be perpetuated at any moment in our world, whether it be The Great
Depression or The Recession of 2008. Even when we are forced into these tragic scenarios, we must
repent from our uncivilized behavior and pledge to propel positive energy. John Steinbeck s The
Grapes of Wrath displays the vindication of the human soul through the device of juxtaposition. The
structure of America had been completely ravaged by The Great Depression, and many people chose
to band together in support of each other starting a new life. Illustrated in the quote from chapter 9 that
states, We ll start over. But you can t start over. Only a baby can start over. You and me why, we re all
that s been (Steinbeck 87), we see how a baby, the paradigm symbol of new life is used to
communicate starting over, and the exemption of the past. Throughout the narrative of the Joad s path
to a new beginning, Steinbeck expresses the same idea when others aid Rose of Sharon in an attempt
to ensure her baby s health: a community of people working together to establish a future in which
them and their world has been bettered. The ability to band ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Alexander Graham Bell Has Changed The Way Our World
Alexander Graham Bell
Have you ever thought about life what life was like when communication was hard? If you were far
away from someone you would either have to write or walk, and both of those would take a long time
to get a message somewhere. The introduction of the telephone changed the way our world worked. If
you have used a phone anytime in your life, and almost everyone has, you need to thank the creator,
Alexander Graham Bell. Alexander Graham Bell has changed the way our world works, thanks to his
many famous and important inventions.
On March 3, 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland, Alexander Bell, the teacher of the deaf and Scottish born
American inventor was born. Alexander s middle name Graham was not added until he was about ten
years old. He added his middle name because he also wanted one like his brothers. His father gave
him his middle name as his birthday present. He was the middle child and both of his brothers passed
away from tuberculosis later in his life. Tuberculosis is a fatal disease that attacks the lungs. His
grandfather was an elocution professor and his father was an expert on elocution and the mechanics of
the voice. Elocution is the art of public speaking. He was homeschooled for most of his life by his
mother and he got one year of schooling at a private school and two years at Edinburgh High School.
His mother was nearly deaf and was a very talented piano player and painter which inspired him to do
big things in his lifetime. Bell also knew

Family Dynamics And Family Therapy Essay
Introduction
Families of Origin have significant impacts on how individuals view their future relationships. This is
especially apparent when problems arise among couples. The ways that parents teach their children
how to approach the different roles in intimate relationships can replay itself repeatedly.
In my particular family, my parents were a perfect example of how children can be products of their
own upbringings. Divorce is a term that is not spoken often in the Hage/Donnelly family. In fact, it
had never been used to describe a couple in the Hage family until my mother and father decided to
separate in 1993. My mother was the first woman in her family to make that decision. This paper will
explore the family dynamics before and after my parents chose to divorce each other. It will also apply
the Bowen and Contextual models of family therapy to assist in understanding the possible causes of
the problematic issue.
Background
When my mother and father, Marie Donnelly and Robert Hage were growing up, their families had
similar views of divorce. It was something that was seen as being judgmental and would only occur in
the most extreme circumstances. An example would be that the husband was being abusive or the wife
was not fulfilling her responsibilities, like cooking or cleaning. Marie was raised in a big Irish
Catholic home. She had nine other siblings and it was taught that family was very important. Their
home was always filled with family members. When

story says, Any gift he cared to name! so Midas wished for what he desired most. The text states,
Midas had a loving wife and a daughter he adored, but he was still discontented. He wanted to be the

Physiognomies In Nudgee Beach Zonation
Zonation is the distribution of animals and plants into specific zones according to abiotic factors and
characterised by its dominant species [15]. Mangrove zonation is the distinguishable categorisation of
a mangrove ecosystem that extends from shore to inland regions. Definitive spatial variation of
mangrove species has been recognised amongst different ecosystems worldwide and is accredited as
being influenced by abiotic and environmental factors [16]. In Eastern Australia, the majority of
mangrove forests may be divided into landward, middle and seaward zones, based off of their
placement in relation to tidal position. The following points represent the typical physiognomies
characterised by mangroves in their corresponding zones:

At Nudgee Beach, erosion was found to have occurred on the edges of the mangrove forest and along
the mudflat shorelines. Erosion is typically influenced by natural factors and occurs when pieces of
weathered rock or soil are moved typically by wind and water from one place to another. Shorelines
with lots of sediment and sand are more inclined to be effected by erosional progression. Erosion may
also be provoked and accelerated by human interference. For example, if the decision to clear trees
and plants from an area is made, erosion is likely to occur as the root systems of plants work to hold
the soil in place. If these root systems are removed and erosion does occur, environmental conditions
such as; landslides and flooding are more likely to take place. Erosion may also cause other plants to
tip over, have their underground roots exposed and damaged and contribute to the pollution of local
waters; as a result of mud and soil runoff [26]. Erosion at Nudgee Beach was likely to have been
influenced by natural factors; however, the development and extension of the Kedron Brook golfing
course may contribute to the acceleration of erosional processes and further damage the mangrove

Symbolism In Claude Lorrain
While opinion and interpretation concerning the works of Claude Lorrain (1600 82) have shifted over
the past three centuries, to present day scholars, the artist is nonetheless regarded as a father of
classical landscape painting. Largely recognized for his sprawling scenes of nature meeting old world
civilization, the artist masterfully juxtaposes timeless natural scenes with figures and architecture that
evoke a sense of classical antiquity. While mythological themes would have been in step with the
motif trends of his era, Lorrain distinguishes himself from his contemporaries as a landscape painter
who seamlessly marries realistic natural scenes with fantastical narratives. Landscape with Egeria
Mourning the Death of Numa [fig. 1]) is emblematic of Lorrain s symbiosis between the natural and
the civilized. And the analysis herein will demonstrate that the piece fully encapsulates the character
of his most notable landscapes. Composed by a student of Claude Lorrain in the 18th century (a copy
of an original 1669 work by Lorrain), this work is done in oil on canvas and depicts a scenic scape of
rustic architecture nestled into lush wilderness. The color utilized in this work is both complementary
and deeply contrasting. The rich, earthen colors of the shrouded forest setting and architecture
juxtapose against the pale, muted sky. The sky begins at the top of the frame in the foreground as a
pale magenta and subtly transitions to the background into a quiet, sunset like

The Dark Side of the Mind Exposed in Cask of Amontillado
A wrong is unredressed when retribution overtakes its redresser. It is equally unredressed when the
avenger fails to make himself felt as such to him who has done the wrong. With that statement,
Montresor begins his tale of revenge deciding that the act must be slow and sweet and that in order to
fully enjoy it, his adversary must be aware of his intentions. Hidden within those same few lines, lies
not only this horrid plan, but also the true interest of its true author. In his Cask of Amontillado, Edgar
Allen Poe reveals his supreme interest in the dark side of the human mind and heart.

He is only concerned with attempting to understand the mind of Montresor as he commits the ultimate
dark act of murder.
Throughout the story, Montresor shows that the murder was what is now called in the first degree it
was clearly preplanned and intentional. By giving [the attendants] orders not to stir from the house,
Montresor shows that he was very aware of his actions. Even the placement of the bricks and mortar,
as well as the clever concealment of the trowel reflect the final execution of a well thought out plan. In
dialogue, Montresor also reveals his plan: Fortunato: the cough is a mere nothing; it will not kill me. I
shall not die of a cough. Montresor: True true. Montresor says that it is true. Fortunato will not die of a
cough, he will die at the hand of Montresor. The deep seated hatred necessary for the preplanned
extinguishing of another s life shows this dark side which Poe so wishes to be understood. Poe seems
to suggest that even if the readers have not physically carried out such a hideous act as that of
Montresor, they have in their imaginations.
Even the calm way the story is related by Montresor causes the reader to wander further into the mind
of the murderer further into the dark side of the mind and of the heart. With the line for the half of a
century no mortal has disturbed the bones, a new perspective on the story emerges. But even when the
fact that the story was

Sexual Orientation In The LGBT Community
The term LGBT was created around the 1980s. LGBT stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and
transgender. The acronym was first a 14 lettered word to try and make an effort to represent all the
different sexual orientations. Today there are about 58, maybe even more, different sexual
orientations. Gender orientation is the legal and social status as men and women. Sexual orientation
however, is what defines someone as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. The best way to explain it
is sexual orientation is whom you go to bed with and gender orientation is who you go to bed as.
People of the LGBT community were treated very crudely, even today there is discrimination against
people in the gay community. They would be sent to psychiatric wards because the majority of the
people back then would say they were sick in their minds and didn t know what else to do with them.
It wasn t until 1973 when the American Psychiatric Association ruled out homosexualtiy as an illness
when Dr. Evelyn Hooker, who studied gay men, wrote a innovated paper on how homosexual men are
just as adjusted as hetrosexual men, if not possibly even more. The LGBT community would also be
at risk from being fired from their jobs because of their orientation or they would have their children
taken away from them. Much of the LGBT community were beaten to death because of hate crimes.

The Protection Of The Environment
Introduction
Information and public participation play an important role in the protection of the environment. To
that end they have become rights which are protected internationally, continentally and domestically,
ensuring that all citizens and organizations are able to play an active role in the management of the
environmental at all levels. By enabling public participation, governments are inevitably providing
transparency in governance and therefore reinforcing the legislative and institutional safeguards that
have been put in place to protect the environment. It is important that some level of transparency is

procedures, as well the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Under Principle 10, public participation is a creature of three distinct requirements Firstly, there is a
recognition that participation does not occur in a vacuum; rather, it is facilitated by a healthy
understanding of the current state of the environment. The Rio Declaration recognized that at the
national level, each individual shall have appropriate access to information concerning the
environment that is held by public authorities, including information on hazardous materials and
activities in their communities .
As such, there is a responsibility on governments to make available information on the environment
and the current risks faced to the citizens. The Rio Declaration states that states shall facilitate and
encourage public awareness and participation by making information widely available . This includes
educating local communities as to the environmental risks they specifically face and their sources. It
also means providing an adequate mechanism for governmental bodies to provide this information.
Secondly when the public is fully aware of the status of their environment, then citizens and interest
groups should be provided with the opportunity to participate in the decision making process .
Individuals and organizations should have a say in the drafting of legislation, regulation and
guidelines.

Discussion Board Of Oral Digestion
I chose the oral cavity to describe for this discussion board. The oral cavity ingests, chews, and
swallows the food so that it may enter our bodies. The oral cavity is the place where digestion begins.
Before it goes anywhere in the body it has to enter our mouths first so that it may be mechanically
broken down with the help of our teeth and saliva. Saliva contains digestive enzymes that help break
down the food particles so that it s easier for us to swallow. Hanging at the back of the throat is the

The gods are not happy with them, and Enkidu is killed. The two heroes are both ambush by a woman,
Surpanaka and Ishtar. The plot is similar here, because they both get something taken from them. Sita

Challenges In Night By Elie Wiesel
During the Holocaust they counted that 6 million Jews died. The Jews faced many difficulties, death
being the main one. In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, he told his story of the difficulties he faced
during the Holocaust. The Nazis were horrible to the Jews; they gave them little food, made them
march many miles, worked them long hard hours, and when on the train they had little air. Because
Elie Wiesel overcame his difficulties he faced during the Holocaust, I feel I can overcome my
problems and live a wonderful life.
many times during the book it talks about Wiesel s problems. Elie s first problem would be when he
was in Buna, a concentration camp. This was a problem for Wiesel because he didn t have food, water,
and at sometimes air. In the book Elie says At ten o clock we were given our daily ration of bread
(Wiesel 34 ). This quote shows how that they only got bread once a day from their SS Officers, and
that they didn t have food. Another problem Wiesel had is the loss of family. Elie got taken away from
his mom and sister when they were deported on the train but got to stay with his father. Elie says I
certainly do. But on one condition: I want to stay with my father (Wiesel 35). With Elie being taken
away from his mom and sister, he wanted to stay with his father through the whole thing. Wiesel s
father was his strength to stay alive. Elie had tough adversities he had to go through in his life and he
was strong and overcame them.

Effectiveness Of The Decapitation Of Osama Bin Laden

The Effectiveness of the Decapitation of Osama bin Laden
May 1, 2011 was a momentous night for Americans; the hunt for Osama bin Laden had been going on
for nearly ten years. When President Obama announced bin Laden s death late that night, the nation
celebrated the end of the war on terror. Up until that point, bin Laden had been the face of terrorism
around the world. While the majority of Americans were joyful at the news of his death, others
questioned the value of his removal. Was the decapitation of Osama bin Laden as the leader of Al
Qaeda effective? Was it worth ten years of concentrated effort and resources? Some scholars would
argue that his death ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Zawahiri, on the other hand, has a rigid and argumentative style of leadership. Because bin Laden was
the voice and stimulus behind Al Qaeda, some scholars believed his absence might also lead to
lowered recruitment and less financial support (Al Masri et al.).
Although bin Laden was an inspirational leader, Al Qaeda is a religious, separatist organization whose
ideology resonates within a wide group of people in the Middle East. Bin Laden s spiritual teachings
brought in members, but he was not their prime recruiting tool. If Al Qaeda had revolved entirely
around bin Laden s personal logic and ideals it would have collapsed with him, but because of their
broad ideology Al Qaeda, has been able to stay strong.
Throughout the search for bin Laden American leaders came to the conclusion he was more
symbolically important than operationally important to his followers. Because bin Laden was
continually on the run, he could not be relied upon for the day to day operations of Al Qaeda (Baker et
al.). With its leaders being the subject of a global manhunt, Al Qaeda had to adapt in order to survive.
This led to the development of a decentralized governing system, with a bottom up approach through
its franchise groups. In fact, aside from Zawahiri, bin Laden s chosen successor, very few Al Qaeda
members who operated directly under bin Laden remain. In just the past four years the United States
has killed four of the top five leaders in Al Qaeda: bin Laden,

Descriptive Essay About Mission Inn
Hugo Munoz Escalera
Schachat
English 1A
2 November 2017
The Mission Inn Walking the streets through Downtown Riverside, it s hard to miss the giant castle
esque structure that takes up an entire city block. The Mission Inn s Spanish architecture and lush
green variety of trees and bushes can be seen from a mile away. Taking an aerial view of Downtown
Riverside allows one to see what sets this entire city block apart. The tops of every building that make
up the Inn are colored a foreign maroon red which greatly contrast with the rest of the city s boring
gray rooftops. The structure makes a giant upside down horseshoe shape which is centered around a
gorgeous sparkling pool, which itself is surrounded by a ring of greenery that encompasses the entire
center of the U shape. Behind the U are several wings that make up the rest of the Inn, which include
rooms for guests to stay in and all of the other commodities that the hotel has for visitors, such as a
museum filled with artwork and artifacts, and several different dining options.
Before entering the ancient luxurious Spanish castle through the main entrance, one walks through
walkways filled with rich shrubbery and plants that line the wall and the fence closest to the street.
The entrance to the Inn lies behind the U shaped driveway where guests can have their exotic cars
valet parked. Entering the Mission Inn in Downtown Riverside during the night time was a
breathtaking experience. Sounds of crickets chirping and

Essay about Possible Causes of the Holocaust
Most of the world will no longer deny the mass murder of millions of Jews during World War II (1939
1945). The Holocaust is not a secret anymore. But was the Holocaust the brainchild of a deviant
individual or was it an event that came only out of necessity? Was the Shoah intentional or was it
functional? Or will we ever know for sure? The answer to that question is no, at least not presently.
Historians searching for answers to the question of how the murder of a nation came about are often
led into a dead end. There is not a single document to be found affirming that genocide of the Jews
was the original plan. What documents can be located are filled with ambiguities and illusive
language. The Jews were often referred to as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were death camps built specifically constructed to kill and dispose of the unwanted, the useless.
The Nazis were extreme anti Semitic propagandists, but what divides the functionalists from the
intentionalists are the interpretations of three major points: how one chooses to judge Hitler, the time
span between March of 1941 and the following autumn and how one follows the rhetoric of the Nazi
party.
First, one must take a close look at the leader of the Third Reich, Adolf Hitler. He became chancellor
in 1933 and Fuhrer in 1934, but his anti Semitic propaganda began long before then. The Nazi
campaign against the Jews started as early as 1929. There is no argument that Hitler hated and blamed
the Jewish people for Germany?s economic downfall following World War I, he even went so far as to
blame them for the loss of the war itself. According to intentionalists ?Hitler is seen as the driving
force of Nazi anti Semitic policy?? (Marrus, 35).
Intentionalist Lucy Dawidowicz argues that starting with Hitler?s attack on Poland in September
1939, he used the war to create confusion, to cover up his intentions of mass murder (Marrus, 35).
Hitler ran the Third Reich through verbal orders, rarely communicating with underlings, rather than
official documentation. Raul Hilberg refers to this as ?government by announcement? (Marrus, 34).
Hitler?s obsession with Jewish genocide became clearer as his

Metropolitan Museum Essay
From September 2013 through January 2014, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City was
home to an exhibition entitled Medieval Treasures from Hildesheim. The exhibition featured 48 pieces
from various media which all originated from the UNESCO Heritage Sites of Saint Mary s Cathedral
or St. Michael s Church in Hildesheim, Germany. These objects consisted of 6 full or partial
manuscripts and 42 sculptural pieces, including 7 reliquaries, 4 portable altars, and 3 liturgical fans.
Most of the sculptural pieces had liturgical uses, an almost all were crafted out of copper, gold, and/or
silver. What is most fascinating about these items is that none of them belong to the Metropolitan

The exhibition was arranged by curator Peter Barnet, in conjunction with the director of the
Hildesheim Cathedral Museum, Michael Brandt, and a curator from the Hildesheim Cathedral
Museum, Gerhard Lutz. The exhibition catalogue also includes a foreword from the Dean of
Hildesheim Cathedral, Hans Georg Koitz where he reveals that these objects are on display in New
York because the museum in Hildesheim, where they are normally displayed, is under renovations for
an expansion. This final observation brings me to my main question which my paper will address:
with a collection as encyclopedic as the Metropolitan Museum of Art s, why would a curator want to
bring 48 artistically and religiously significant artifacts from Hildesheim, Germany to New York for
an exhibition? These objects all had to be shipped thousands of miles in order to be shown in a lesser
exhibition for less than 5 months. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has one of the largest collections
of Medieval art in the world, which is elaborated on at length in the director s forward from Thomas P.
Campbell, and the untrained eye has a difficult time telling the difference between, for example, the
two arm reliquaries owned by the museum

Muriel Sparks is an author of great vision and ambition. She got her work The Girls of Slender Means

contributions; the book has literary features; irony, fun, penetrating, unsettling and extremely beautiful
theme that people found undeniably striking.
Discussion
Spark witnessed the disturbing propaganda of wartime, experiencing gloomy delicacies and powerful
language of the time inaction. Her writing shows reflection of human aptitudes and this is the reason
regarded by critics that it has ability to change things into fiction from reality. Every word in novel is
best placed, to save, or to kill.
Muriel Spark s work is appreciated as appealing to readers and described best as clever and elegant.
According to Waugh, novels of Spark are extraordinarily various, diverse in themes and all novels are
fused with each other by a tone or a voice. However, some of her novel may appear bizarre and at
times emblematic to readers, while some are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the irony of affirmations of order. The royal family was welcomed by crowd, they were applauded on

According to the documentary Blackfish, whales chew on the gates and barriers breaking their teeth
and get cut and scraped from the concrete of the pools.
Lastly, Keeping killer whales in captivity causes deformities. In the wild, the dorsal fin of the Killer
whale stands upright (Cetacean Inspiration). Cases of killer whales having bent dorsal fins in the wild
is extremely rare and when it does occur its usually the result of injury, or even an oil spill. There are a
several reasons why whales in captivity have bent dorsal fins. Two of the main causes as stated by the
Cetacean Inspiration Website are:
I. In the wild, the deep water supports the dorsal fins upright position while collagen hardens, and in
captivity, the pool water isn t deep enough to exert the amount of pressure necessary so the fin bends.
II. the second reason is because the whales do a lot of turning since they cannot swim in a straight line
as they do in the wild, thus bending the fin.
II. Point #2
Whales in captivity suffer through a great amount of emotional abuse . In captivity, Children can be
separated from their mothers, and whales that are taken from the wild are separated from their families
,which can consist of up to 40 members (National Geographic). Whales are very family oriented and
each pod of whales has their own dialect when communicating. Whales are social creatures and by
depriving them of social activity and their families, they become depressed and

Definition Essay On Honesty
Best selling author and podcaster James Altucher once said Honesty is the fastest way to prevent a
mistake turning into a failure (Altucher). What Altucher was saying is, honesty is a great help in
pulling you out of bad situations before they can turn even worse in your life. There are many ways
for honesty to work out positively in our lives, it can show a sense of trust within yourself or others
you come in contact with. Honesty is also a big part of our lives in our wider culture by being able to
express opinions towards various subjects. There are many ways where there is honesty in what goes
on in our lives, in television, writing, and everyday conversations. Being honest can be seen as an
award for telling the truth and not hiding it. It also promoted a sense of trust between you and the
people around you to show that you are a person of your word. Honesty is also to show self

someone that only acts a certain way because of who I am talking to. When I have been honest I
developed great relationships with the teachers of my high school and now the professors at my
university. I am able to express opinions towards them that others may not want to share with the
adults in their life. Honesty can leave out any misunderstandings people will have about me and it will

The KJV And The Lincoln Commentary (Word Biblical... 3 Roles The KJV and the Lincoln commentary (Word Biblical Commentary series) The number of roles in the church in this scripture comes down to the interpretations of the conjunctions used in this scripture, the use of πρὸς once and the use of εἰς twice: πρὸς τὸν καταρτισμὸν τῶν ἁγίων the perfecting of the saints εἰς ἔργον διακονίας, for [the] work of ministry, εἰς οἰκοδομὴν τοῦ σώματος τοῦ Χριστοῦ, for [the] building of the body of Christ The view of three roles contents that all three of the conjunctions above are coordinate, meaning that it links three equal statements together, one subject to another. However, even with a significant depreciation, the NPV for this investment is always positive, which means it is always positive. The promise made between her and her mother holds her back from moving on with her life. She feels that she is confused with leaving or staying. She remembered the last night of her mother s illness; she was again in the close dark room at the other side of the hall and outside she heard a melancholy air of Italy (33). She feels parted from her family and the society puts a toll on her feelings. In her home anyway she had shelter and food; she had those who she had known all her life about her (30). The life she used to have is different than the life she wants to take with Frank. Frank feels pressured to make the right decisions to make him look good in the society. • 7. What Was The Causes Of Rwanda Genocide One horrific, though often overlooked, genocide took place in Rwanda, Africa from April to July 1994. The tiny, landlocked country saw mass killings and state sponsored hatred of the Tutsi people by the Hutu. Rwanda was divided into three major clans the Tutsi, which made up about 15% of the population and were the paler group favored by the English and Belgian colonists, and therefore were originally chosen to rule the country after the European takeover. This greatly angered the Hutus, about 84% of the population, (the Twa, the third group, were only 1% of Rwandans, didn t have much to do with the genocide), so they were eventually given the ability to gain professional political positions as well, a right that had been taken away with the ... • 9. The Inspired Kantian Non Formalism Analysis Chapter Four The Inspired Kantian Non Formalism The interpretation of Kant as a moral formalist or constructivist precisely, has been dominant in much of the recent secondary literature on Kant in English speaking world, for Silber, Rawls and O Neill we analyzed. Those interpretations have lately come under sustained philosophical attack by the defenders of a non moral formalist or realist interpretation of Kant. We have mentioned at the outset, the essential division for formalist and non formalist is in their understanding C1 as a formal accomplishment or not. So far we have seen the formalist holds out for the preeminence of universalzation in the hierarchy of principles, i.e. the buttressing rules Rawls or O Neill posed. Now we are to see how ... Since pure reason is able to be relevant to material action, we see a conceptual bridge is constructed in the form of the maxim, to the degree that it is tested in accordance to prescriptive law, a determinate rule of action. This determination, it must be stressed, is voluntary and subjectively constructed, while the basis of the analysis, this intend to act from duty, is based on an understanding of moral law. Hence, Dietrichson points out a non formal approach to explain Kant, it is non formal because it raises the humanity the material for Kant to guide action. Precisely, because the pure reason enables us to grasp the moral law, we are striking to fulfill the requirement to act from duty as it constitutes purity of our humanity. • 10. Radiology Application Essay I am thrilled to be choosing Radiology as the path to becoming the kind of doctor I ve always envisioned: intelligent, collaborative, and compassionate. Radiologists serve as cornerstones in the practice of medicine. Time and again, I ve seen diagnosis and treatment dependent on proper understanding of imaging. As a Physics nerd, I am intrigued by the cutting edge of technology. My fondest memories of the OR include being swept away by the miracle of image guided surgery. Our patient had been diagnosed with brain cancer, and the tumor was scheduled for resection. Rather than make an incision and expose the operative area as I d seen many times in general surgery, the neurosurgeon was able to utilize an instrument that transmitted its position and trajectory to a computer and projected this information onto pre operative MRI. In this way, the surgeon was able to follow in real time the precise location of his surgical instruments for a minimally invasive tumor resection. This was my first real ... A very patient radiologist introduced me to the principles of splenic injury grading and how to utilize a systematic approach in the reading of films. This really opened my eyes to a new level of reasoning and sparked my interest in becoming a radiologist. Juxtaposition In The Grapes Of Wrath The Vines of Vindication Economic tragedy can seem to be perpetuated at any moment in our world, whether it be The Great Depression or The Recession of 2008. Even when we are forced into these tragic scenarios, we must repent from our uncivilized behavior and pledge to propel positive energy. John Steinbeck s The Grapes of Wrath displays the vindication of the human soul through the device of juxtaposition. The structure of America had been completely ravaged by The Great Depression, and many people chose to band together in support of each other starting a new life. Illustrated in the quote from chapter 9 that states, We ll start over. But you can t start over. Only a baby can start over. You and me why, we re all that s been (Steinbeck 87), we see how a baby, the paradigm symbol of new life is used to communicate starting over, and the exemption of the past. Throughout the narrative of the Joad s path to a new beginning, Steinbeck expresses the same idea when others aid Rose of Sharon in an attempt to ensure her baby s health: a community of people working together to establish a future in which them and their world has been bettered. If you were far away from someone you would either have to write or walk, and both of those would take a long time to get a message somewhere. The introduction of the telephone changed the way our world worked. If you have used a phone anytime in your life, and almost everyone has, you need to thank the creator, Alexander Graham Bell. Alexander Graham Bell has changed the way our world works, thanks to his many famous and important inventions. On March 3, 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland, Alexander Bell, the teacher of the deaf and Scottish born American inventor was born. Alexander s middle name Graham was not added until he was about ten years old. He added his middle name because he also wanted one like his brothers. His father gave him his middle name as his birthday present. He was the middle child and both of his brothers passed away from tuberculosis later in his life. Tuberculosis is a fatal disease that attacks the lungs. His grandfather was an elocution professor and his father was an expert on elocution and the mechanics of the voice. Elocution is the art of public speaking. He was homeschooled for most of his life by his mother and he got one year of schooling at a private school and two years at Edinburgh High School. This is especially apparent when problems arise among couples. The ways that parents teach their children how to approach the different roles in intimate relationships can replay itself repeatedly. In my particular family, my parents were a perfect example of how children can be products of their own upbringings. Divorce is a term that is not spoken often in the Hage/Donnelly family. In fact, it had never been used to describe a couple in the Hage family until my mother and father decided to separate in 1993. My mother was the first woman in her family to make that decision. This paper will explore the family dynamics before and after my parents chose to divorce each other. It will also apply the Bowen and Contextual models of family therapy to assist in understanding the possible causes of the problematic issue. Background When my mother and father, Marie Donnelly and Robert Hage were growing up, their families had similar views of divorce. It was something that was seen as being judgmental and would only occur in the most extreme circumstances. An example would be that the husband was being abusive or the wife was not fulfilling her responsibilities, like cooking or cleaning. Marie was raised in a big Irish Catholic home. She had nine other siblings and it was taught that family was very important. Their home was always filled with family members. When ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mangrove zonation is the distinguishable categorisation of a mangrove ecosystem that extends from shore to inland regions. Definitive spatial variation of mangrove species has been recognised amongst different ecosystems worldwide and is accredited as being influenced by abiotic and environmental factors [16]. At Nudgee Beach, erosion was found to have occurred on the edges of the mangrove forest and along the mudflat shorelines. Erosion is typically influenced by natural factors and occurs when pieces of weathered rock or soil are moved typically by wind and water from one place to another. Shorelines with lots of sediment and sand are more inclined to be effected by erosional progression. Erosion may also be provoked and accelerated by human interference. For example, if the decision to clear trees and plants from an area is made, erosion is likely to occur as the root systems of plants work to hold the soil in place. If these root systems are removed and erosion does occur, environmental conditions such as; landslides and flooding are more likely to take place. Erosion may also cause other plants to tip over, have their underground roots exposed and damaged and contribute to the pollution of local waters; as a result of mud and soil runoff [26]. • 16. Symbolism In Claude Lorrain While opinion and interpretation concerning the works of Claude Lorrain (1600 82) have shifted over the past three centuries, to present day scholars, the artist is nonetheless regarded as a father of classical landscape painting. Largely recognized for his sprawling scenes of nature meeting old world civilization, the artist masterfully juxtaposes timeless natural scenes with figures and architecture that evoke a sense of classical antiquity. While mythological themes would have been in step with the motif trends of his era, Lorrain distinguishes himself from his contemporaries as a landscape painter who seamlessly marries realistic natural scenes with fantastical narratives. Landscape with Egeria Mourning the Death of Numa [fig. 1]) is emblematic of Lorrain s symbiosis between the natural and the civilized. And the analysis herein will demonstrate that the piece fully encapsulates the character of his most notable landscapes. Composed by a student of Claude Lorrain in the 18th century (a copy of an original 1669 work by Lorrain), this work is done in oil on canvas and depicts a scenic scape of rustic architecture nestled into lush wilderness. The color utilized in this work is both complementary and deeply contrasting. The rich, earthen colors of the shrouded forest setting and architecture juxtapose against the pale, muted sky. The sky begins at the top of the frame in the foreground as a pale magenta and subtly transitions to the background into a quiet, sunset like ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is equally unredressed when the avenger fails to make himself felt as such to him who has done the wrong. With that statement, Montresor begins his tale of revenge deciding that the act must be slow and sweet and that in order to fully enjoy it, his adversary must be aware of his intentions. Hidden within those same few lines, lies not only this horrid plan, but also the true interest of its true author. Throughout the story, Montresor shows that the murder was what is now called in the first degree it was clearly preplanned and intentional. By giving [the attendants] orders not to stir from the house, Montresor shows that he was very aware of his actions. Even the placement of the bricks and mortar, as well as the clever concealment of the trowel reflect the final execution of a well thought out plan. In dialogue, Montresor also reveals his plan: Fortunato: the cough is a mere nothing; it will not kill me. I shall not die of a cough. Montresor: True true. Montresor says that it is true. Fortunato will not die of a cough, he will die at the hand of Montresor. The deep seated hatred necessary for the preplanned extinguishing of another s life shows this dark side which Poe so wishes to be understood. Poe seems to suggest that even if the readers have not physically carried out such a hideous act as that of Montresor, they have in their imaginations. Even the calm way the story is related by Montresor causes the reader to wander further into the mind of the murderer further into the dark side of the mind and of the heart. The acronym was first a 14 lettered word to try and make an effort to represent all the different sexual orientations. Today there are about 58, maybe even more, different sexual orientations. Gender orientation is the legal and social status as men and women. Sexual orientation however, is what defines someone as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. The best way to explain it is sexual orientation is whom you go to bed with and gender orientation is who you go to bed as. People of the LGBT community were treated very crudely, even today there is discrimination against people in the gay community. They would be sent to psychiatric wards because the majority of the people back then would say they were sick in their minds and didn t know what else to do with them. It wasn t until 1973 when the American Psychiatric Association ruled out homosexualtiy as an illness when Dr. Evelyn Hooker, who studied gay men, wrote a innovated paper on how homosexual men are just as adjusted as hetrosexual men, if not possibly even more. Cases of killer whales having bent dorsal fins in the wild is extremely rare and when it does occur its usually the result of injury, or even an oil spill.
