Analysis Of The Movie The Hunger Games
In District 12 of Panem, 16 year old Katniss Everdeen is walking to meet her friend, Gale, a boy she
seems to like, in the woods so they can do some hunting for food. As she s walking, she thinks about
her mother and her younger sister, Prim, who is 12 years old. They have depended on Katniss for food
ever since their father died in a mine explosion when Katniss was 11. It s the day of the reaping, which
is very stressful because it determines which boy and girl, ages 12 to 18, will serve as the district s
tributes in the Hunger Games. Each of the 12 districts must draw two tributes, and those tributes are
sent to an arena where they fight to the death until only one tribute remains alive. The victor s district
is given gifts, mainly food, and the victor returns home. The Capitol of Panem puts on the Games to
remind and punish the 12 districts of the Dark Days, which was when the 13th district was destroyed
for attempting to rise up against the cruel and merciless Capitol. The reaping begins and Prim s name
is drawn. Katniss freaks out and volunteers to take her place, making her District 12 s girl tribute. The
boy tribute s name is drawn and it s Peeta Mellark, who is the baker s son and the same age at Katniss.
Katniss remembers, when they were children, Peeta saw her starving outside in the rain and gave her a
burnt piece of bread that his mother had told him to feed to their pigs. Katniss wonders how is she
supposed to kill him in the Games after he was so

Flame Heart By Langston Hughes Analysis
Selected Modernism literature passage is from Flame Heart by Claude McKay, I, too, sing America,
by Langston Hughes Sweat, by Zora Neale Hurston, and The Bean Eaters, by Gwendolyn Brooks.
These passages were written during the Harlem Renaissance period. Close reading gave me an actual
account on how Modernism authors of the Harlem Renaissance such as McKay, Hughes, Hurston and
Brooks put ideas on paper. Through the ability to perceive, be mindful, and images, close reading gave
me an actual account on how Harlem Renaissance authors put ideas on paper.
First of all is my impression to a Flame Heart passage by Claude McKay.
My first impression of Claude McKay last passage, Flame Heart is that the sonnet couplet has no wild
factor. Eventhough, the poet pays close attention to the sounds of the words, and certain kinds of
rhymes, his poem does not work as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, noticed in the passage, a dark skin helper is asked to eat somewhere else. The first and second
impressions do contradict each other. The passage creates a stressful mood living in a segregated
world for which the only desire is hope.

In addition, a point of view and characteristic passage from Zora Neale Hurston, How It Feels to Be

Sentences are the basic building block of the speaker. Each sentence needs a reason. Such as the
opening sentence shows, through activity behavior, white people differ from dark skin people. The
next sentence in order to establish a relationship through actions and reactions shows Hurston as a
child thinking how strange it was to be rewarded by the white people for something she enjoys doing,
such as speak pieces sing and dance the parse me la. Another sentence moves the action step plot that
is going to have some consequences forward, as illustrated, colored people do not reward such

Maria Montessori And The Montessori Method
Maria Montessori was born on August 1870, in a small town in Italy. She was the first woman to
obtain her medical degree, which was in 1896. She was intended to challenge the trust of Educations
worldwide. In 1906, Maria Montessori worked with handicap children and decided to open her first
school, called Casa dei Bambini, which meant Children s House. She is the founder of education
called Montessori Method. The Montessori method teaches children to learn through the work that
they do. She is also notable for being the first woman to graduate from the University of Rome with a
doctorate degree. She died in May 1952, in Netherlands. An auto education is when the child is self
taught on how to do a task. The child is able to move onto extensions when they complete the task.
Children control their own ability to learn with a little guidance from the teacher. The Practical Life
materials that the child work with such as a spoon, teaches the child how to use the spoon and with the
proper wrist movements helps the child to learn how to feed themselves. Using a pitcher for water
pouring work, teaches the child how to pour water with a pitcher for themselves (self serving). Every
child uses these activities through trial and error until they have mastered the task. The sensitive
period is the pattern the experience of the absorbent mind that follows. The joy in which the child has
in these sensitive periods is his or her inner motivation to learn and develop. A sensitive

Tattoos Senior Project
My senior project was over the History of Tattooing, I chose this as my topic because Tattoos really
interest me with all the different styles and meanings behind them. Some things I already knew about
Tattooing is a lot of tribes used tattoos to symbolize things, but I didn t know what. With my research I
expected to find a lot more upfront information, like maybe a for sure area on where they originated
and exactly how it spread, but it was so spread out it was hard for anyone to pinpoint exactly who did
them first.
Doing my senior project I found out that just doodling a Tattoo is difficult because you wouldn t want
it to be flat or too simple, so you have to really but in detail and attempt to put in depth to help your
piece come to life even before it s on skin, What I did was I put in a different color where the bottom
area of the tentacle is and tried to do highlighting with some silver to give more depth. My mentor
assisted me with ideas also with her Tattoo in general. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Congo’s Era of Damnation
In the year 1885, King Leopold II of Belgium imperialized the Independent State of the Congo.
Leopold set the area up under his own personal rule. His rule was an extremely negative and very
unwanted thing that plunged the area into an era of damnation.
The early history of the congo really starts in 150 AD. The indigenous immigrants to the Congo, who
were most likely Pygmies, had migrated from the northern area to the savannah regions in the south
now called DROC, or Democratic Republic of the Congo (Clarke, John H). These immigrants brought
agriculture, and made iron tools. Moving ahead to 1482, the Portuguese navigator, Diogo Cão visited
the Congo River marking the first ever known European contact with the region. Henry Stanley, a
British explorer is commanded to proclaim King Leopold s rule over the Congo in 1879. This is
followed by European powers at the Berlin Conference who recognised Leopold s claim to the Congo
basin and he announces the establishment of the Congo Free State headed by himself (Democratic
Republic of...), thus beginning Leopold s era of tyranny. Leopold s purpose of controlling the Congo
was for the vast amount of resources such as ivory, rubber, and copper. In 1887, J.B. Dunlop s
invention of inflatable, rubber, bicycle tires and the rapid increase in the popularity of the automobile,
caused the demand for rubber to increase dramatically. Now sensing an opportunity, Leopold issued
three decrees in 1881 and 1882 collectively saying that

The Effects of the Plague on Fourteenth Century Europe and...
The 14th century was an era of catastrophes. Some of them were man made, such as the Hundred
Years War. However, there were two natural disasters either of which would have been enough to
throw medieval Europe into real Dark Ages . The Black Death that followed on the heels of the Great
Famine caused millions of deaths, and together they subjected the population of medieval Europe to
tremendous struggles, leading many people to challenge old institutions and doubt traditional values.
These calamities altered the path of European development in many areas. In his essay called An
Essay on the Principle of Population , the English political economist Thomas Malthus (1766 1834),
stated that since production increased arithmetically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Caffa was probably not the only port the plague passed through en route to Europe, but it would
forever be the place said to be where the pestilence originated. As soon as the citizens realized what
horrible sickness had come from these ships, they expelled them from the port but it was too late.
Hundreds of the ships rats had scurried down the mooring ropes tied to the docks. The fleas
(Xenopsylla cheopis (oriental rat flea) that these infected vermin hosted were the real carriers of the
disease. As the infected rats died off, the fleas would seek any other warm blooded host; which
included man. There are no accounts of life in the besieged port, but there is enough information to
suggest what Caffa s final days may have looked like. John Kelly writes, As the death toll mounted,
the streets would have filled with feral animals feeding on human remains, drunken soldiers looting
and raping, old women dragging corpses through rubble, and burning buildings spewing jets of flame
and smoke into the Crimean sky. There would have been swarms of rodents with staggering gaits and
a strange bloody froth around their snouts, piles of bodies staked like cordwood in public squares, and
in every eye, a look of wild panic or dull resignation. The disease spread throughout Europe with
astonishing speed and fatal consequences. By January 1348, the plague was in Marseilles. It reached

The San Vitale in Ravenna and The Dome of the Rock in...
Monuments such as the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem and San Vitale in Ravenna, perform a great
importance in Byzantine and Islamic architecture. Both of these structures did not exclusively
represent the main place of worship, but most importantly as a symbol of achievement and growth
within the current times of construction. Starting in 524, under the influence of Orthodox bishop
Ecclesius, the development of San Vitale was to represent the achievements of the emperor Justinian.
Julius Argentarius was the sponsor for this structure and it was dedicated by Bishop Maximian in 547.

On the lower half is an organization of geometric forms. However, the most important mosaic is the
representation of Emperor Justinian and Emprise Theodora. Justinian is presented holding a bowl of
Eucharistic bread as Theodora carries a chalice or vessel of Eucharistic wine. Due to the orientation of
these figures and the ones that surrounds them, it could be suggested that they represent bringing
Eucharistic elements into the church. Perhaps even as an offering to christ which is reinforced by the
three magi bearing gifts on Theodora s rob. The Dome of the Rock is constructed with a wood
structure encased with marble and stone mosaics. The octagonal plan has a large central space which
is separated with two surrounding ambulatories. Supporting the tall cylindrical dome is four masonry
piers and twelve Corinthian columns. With tie beams separating columns from their capitals, is twenty

Hannah In American Teen
In the movie American teen, one of the characters that really stood out to me was the rebel: Hannah.
The reason she caught my attention was because she was different from the rest of the teenagers. She
was fun and had a sense of humor. Usually, teenagers care a lot about what others think of them. I for
one, am guilty for this. I care about what people think because I don t want people to think I am a
crazy girl or ugly or weird. She knew that she was different from the rest and she didn t care, which
made her unique. She had a dream to become an artist, and she followed through with her dream. I
like people like Hannah because of her right mindset. She accomplished things with her life and kept
on going. Though she had a mental breakdown after

Criminalization Of Cannabis In Canada
In Canada, cannabis use became illegal in 1923 after the Act to Prohibit the Improper Use of Opium
and other Drugs added cannabis to the list of illicit substances. Cannabis then became an illegal
substance under the same category of harder drugs such as cocaine and heroin, despite lack of
scientific or criminal correlations to suggest such categorization (CAMH, 2014). An increase in illicit
drug use in the 1960 s and 1970 s was met by greatly increased criminalization and the associated
individual and social costs. The strain on the courts, and the rising numbers of otherwise law abiding
youth being sentenced for recreational use of cannabis created pressures for the liberalization of
Canada s drug laws. As a result, the Commission of Inquiry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In R. v. Readhead (2008), the accused was charged with the possession of marijuana and possession of
marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of two and one
half years. Readhead argued that the sentencing judge erred in his decision and asked for a fairer
sentence. The British Columbia Court of Appeal stated that the sentence prescribed by the sentencing
judge is within the proper scope of his judgment but still reduced the sentence to two years less a day.
As pointed out by the British Columbia Court of Appeal, Readhead s past experience with the law, in
which he has three previous charges for trafficking marijuana, did not deter or rehabilitate him in any
way( R. v. Readhead, 2008). In R. v. Evers (2011), the accused was charged with the offences of
unlawfully producing a controlled substance and possessing this substance for the purposes of
trafficking. However, despite Evers s lack of remorse for producing marijuana and her explicitly
stating that she intended to continue her grow operation, the trial judge did not impose any jail time.
The trial judge stated that there was no point in imprisoning Evers as doing so would only make her a
martyr for the legalization of marijuana (R. v. Evers, 2011). Both of these cases

Infantile Reflex And Neocortex
Infantile reflexes include the tonic neck reflexes, grasping reflexes and many others. As the neocortex
begins to mature, it inhibits these primitive reflexes, causing them to disappear in normal adults.
However, in people with frontal or parietal lobe damage or tumours, these reflexes are reactivated.
This raises the question: What kind of mechanisms does the neocortex employ to exert inhibitory
control over such reflexes? Since the brain is so complex, a vast variety of possible mechanisms could
exist and be utilised by the frontal and parietal lobes to suppress the reflexes. Perhaps, there could be
neuronal projections to the reflex centres where inhibitory neurotransmitters such as GABA halt those
reflexes. Another possibility could be

Job Offer Negotiation
How did you prepare for this negotiation? Why did you prepare in this manner?
A. Identify the issues that you thought were the most important issues to be negotiated, and briefly
explain why you thought they were the most important. In preparation for this negotiation, I studied
the case diligently. I wrote down, what I felt were the key issues for Joe Tech. I also made a list of
pros and cons associated with each issue. I prepared in this manner because it gave me the opportunity
to effectively break down the issues of the case as well as focus on important goals without having the
extra unneeded information also presented in the case outline. The issues I focused on are as such:

The target point for the salary issue I estimated at $88,000 with a resistance point of $88,000 with a
$2000 increase after six months. I made this inference during the negotiation. $88,000 was the initial
offer given by Bultema this is why I assume that the offer was the target point. As for the resistance
point, during the negotiation as were talking about the salary, offered me $88,000 with a $2000
increase after six months. Her assertiveness to not go hire than that offer signaled to me her stake in
the offer and to assume that the offer was her resistance point. According to Bultema, the interest
behind this issue was that the salary offered was already higher than what is normally given to an
entry level manager straight out of college. Therefore, to keep moral within the department, Bultema
will try to offer the best salary that is closest to the median as possible. The last issues that I estimated
were the incentives. For both the relocation package and signing bonus, I estimated the target point at
$0. I estimated the resistance point $5000. I believe the interest behind this was the same as that for
the salary. The department does not want to lose moral by having a person receiving incentives and
salary higher than that of the average number employees in the department.

The entire penalty box is surrounded by trampolines and which forces athletes to think of completely

goal would have to be shortened by three or four feet as opposed to its original 24 feet in length. The

In Daron Acemoglu and James A. Robinson s novel Why Nations Fail, they describe the two different

Throughout William Faulkner s Barn Burning, little Sarty struggles with an internal conflict. He feels
pressured to lie on behalf of his father, Abner, because he is family; but he also feels that he should tell

The common belief among source critics is that, the Gospel of Mark is the oldest and Matthew and
Luke used his gospel along with an unknown source to write their Gospels. Evidence supporting this
view make the makes four points. First, the Luke s Gospel is contains approximately half of Mark s
information and Matthew s Gospel encompasses almost all of Mark s views. Second, Mark s words
are used verbatium Matthew and Luke. Third, Matthew and Luke follow the same sequence of events
as Mark. Finally, Matthew and Luke sometimes reword Mark s uncomfortable passages of scripture to
allow smooth transitions and ease of understanding.[5] Markan Priority The Markan Priority is the
belief that Mark was the first to write his account then Matthew and Luke used his recordings along
with an unknown source to write their accounts. Although it is said that Matthew and Luke used Mark
s account and another unknown source to write their versions of the gospel, it is also believed that
Mark used some unknown source to supplement his gospel as well.[6] Weaknesses in the Markan

U.s. Dollar, China s Central Bank
In order to contend with the US Dollar, China s central bank has devalued the Yuan nearly 2% in
August 2015.This bank policy was seemed to be a wave to the Chinese market, even the economic
market all around the world, which brought a series of fluctuation and impact to the economy. Why
china took this monetary action to face with the problem from the US dollar (What are the factors)?
What is the (Positive or negative) influence will be aroused in the short term by this Chinese Yuan
depreciation? What will be happen if this devaluation last in the further and what will be affected by
this monetary policy in the long term? The following text will answer and analyse these three
questions.

So it is easy to conclude that china s economic markets are sluggish and weak, for these reasons,
China should adopt this monetary strategy to deal with these series of problems, and keeping the
healthy and steady growth in economic markets. On the other hand, China wanted to increase the
monetary (Yuan) liquidity, further, wanted Yuan to become international reserve currency. Broadly
speaking, China hoped to consolidate its central position in the global economic markets. In
conclusion, pulling the healthy and steady growth internally and pushing Chinese monetary (Yuan)
circulate in the international economic market, externally are the two key factors drove China to
devalue Yuan.
In the short term, this depreciation action will bring varying degree of positive and negative impact in
China and Global world. In the aspect of positive impact, Chinese aggregate demand will go up
considerably in the short run.
Aggregate demand is the total level of spending in the economy and consists of four elements:
consumer spending (C), private investment (I), government expenditure on goods and services (G) and
expenditure on exports (X) less expenditure on imports (M), Thus AD=C+I+G+X M (Sloman, Wride

The Cheyenne Tribes Of The Native American Indians
The Cheyenne was one of the most famous tribes of the Native American Indians. They lived on the
Great Plains in what is now South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas. During the
1800 s, the U.S. government forced the Cheyennes to move to Oklahoma. Today, there are two
Cheyenne tribes. The Southern Cheyenne live in Oklahoma while the Northern Cheyenne settle in
Montana.
The Cheyenne had an interesting culture and way of life. Boys were taught how to hunt, fish, and fight
from their fathers. Girls learned how to cook, clean, and do chores around the house. Also, the
children went to school and played with dolls, toys, and games. For example, the Cheyenne kids
enjoyed playing the hoop game and lacrosse. A Cheyenne woman was responsible for building her
family s house. She dragged heavy posts with her whenever the tribe moved. Later on, the Cheyenne
Indians killed buffalo so they could use buffalo hide to make teepees. They lived in teepees because it
was easy to set up and take down. As a result of moving frequently, a teepee allowed the Cheyenne
tribe to move within an hour. The Cheyenne women harvested corn, squash, and beans while the men
hunted deer and buffalo. Also, they ate fish, fruit, and berries. For clothing, the Cheyenne women
wore long deerskin dresses that were decorated with porcupine quills, shells, and elk teeth. Cheyenne
men wore breechcloths with leather leggings in colder climates. Men wore moccasins while the
women wore high fringed boots. Chief leaders had tall feather headdresses and long warbonnets. The
hair style for men was long braids with a topknot and women wore their hair loose or braided. The
Cheyennes painted their faces for war, religious ceremonies, and feasts. Lastly, the Cheyenne people
were very religious. They performed an elaborate Sun Dance, smoked peace pipes, built ceremonial
houses, and four arrows represented their sacred object.
The tribal government of the Cheyenne Indians was called the Council of Forty Four. It was formed
by ten bands of the tribe. The council was made up of four chiefs from each band as well as four Old
Man chiefs. Each chief served a ten year term. Every summer, the Council of Forty Four made
decisions

The General Behavior Model Is Developed By Ludwig Brenner...
GEBMO or the General Behavior Model was developed by Ludwig Brenner as a way to predict
hazards before they happened. Brenner devised a system of scenarios that could occur with multiple
factors for each element. The system is basically designed on a cause effect relationship. One thing
happens because of another which leads to a result (Haight, 2012). This model was used to develop an
emergency action plan for a small community surrounding a gas station.
The first step to any emergency action plan is to conduct a hazard assessment and the best way
conduct to do that is to conduct a walk through of the facility or area (Haight, 2012). In this scenario,
our facility is a service station with fuel holding tanks and convenience store items which is located in
close proximity to the center of town, a housing development, an elementary school, playground,
baseball field, and wooded area. The nature of the business makes it a hazard, the location of it makes
it a hazard to the community. Using the General Behavior Model, possible hazards and their reactions,
as well as ways to prevent them are discussed.
When working with fuels such as gasoline and diesel, physical hazards to humans are possible.
Gasoline is highly explosive and flammable, while diesel is flammable. The use of GEBMO is to
prevent or reduce the number of fires and explosions. GEBMO is broken down into seven steps. The
first step is to predict a stressing event such as a fire when a tanker is

Eusebius Eusebius of Caesarea was a Christian historian that lived around the time of 300 C.E. In his
work Eusebius: The Church History he attempts to document and validate not only the life of Jesus
Christ and his disciples, but also seeks to record the struggles of Christians and Jews as Christianity
was persecuted throughout Roman rule and eventually legalized under Constantine the Great.
Eusebius is inarguably one of the most significant accounts of Christian history, for he references
numerous primary sources from before his time that are now lost to us. Eusebius text is arranged

of the Lord s people and the many deaths of martyrs not be forgotten. The end of this persecution is
said to have come under Diocletian. Despite being the final stint of Roman persecution, that under
Diocletian was the most brutal and most severe. Under a proposed return to greatness Diocletian
sought to completely eradicate the Christian faith. While other emperors were reluctant to pass

Chaos In A Midsummer s Night Dream
This play of love is just as dramatic as that of Romeo and Juliet, but not nearly so tragic. A
Midsummer s Night Dream may start out with chaos much like how Romeo and Juliet end with chaos,
but this play ends in peace and happiness. How the characters get to that point however was rather
difficult. It was full of stress and drama; confusion and chaos; singing fairies and a man with an ass
head. This tale of four lovers is also the tale of a warrior and a duke; a civilist and a king of shadows;
and a mischievous sprite called Robin Goodfellow. Undeniably, this tale of four lovers has many types

What s Eating Gilbert Grape
What s Eating Gilbert Grape is a 1993 American drama film written by Peter Hedges and directed by
Lasse Hallstrom. The film s main characters are Johnny Depp as Gilbert Grape and Leonardo
DiCaprio as Arnie Grape. The film depicts the burden of family caretaking and the affect it has on a
family both mentally, physically, and financially. Gilbert is the primary caregiver for his mentally and
developmentally disabled seventeen year old brother Arnie (who has the mental capacity of a young
child), his morbidly obese mother Bonnie, known as Mama, and his two sisters Amy and Ellen. Amy,
the oldest daughter, shares most of the household chores with Gilbert and helps with Arnie s care. She
plays the mother figure role for Arnie even though Arnie s mother is alive. Ellen, the youngest
daughter, is very negative in her feelings toward her family. She doesn t help much with the family
because she is busy being a teenage girl.
The movie takes place in the fictional small Midwestern town of Endora, Iowa. Gilbert says in the
film s opening voiceover, Describing Endora is like dancing to no music...nothing much happens here,

Key Requirements For A Successful Vm Implementation Essay
There are several important additional requirements for a successful VM implementation ( Jaapar,. et
al. 2012). First, unwavering and visible support from top management is an absolute prerequisite for
the success of a VM program. Second, it is imperative that all stakeholders (investors, end users,
project team, the owner, constructors/manufacturers, designers, specialist suppliers, etc.) be involved
in the process, especially during the VP and VE stages. The extent of their involvement depends on
the level and stage of the value management process, as well as the person responsible for VM
procedures. Third, in larger or more complex projects, an independent/external value manager is
needed, as well as an external team with relevant design and technical expertise. Projects that are
highly complex are simply too challenging or massively complex to enable one individual to conduct
all VM analyses herself. It is important to ensure that when a value manager is appointed to oversee a
project, he is afforded the cooperation of all stakeholders. In the case of smaller projects, VM might be
undertaken by the sponsor s professional adviser or project manager and, in some cases, an external
professional. However, when establishing a structure for dealing with value for money on projects,
there may be a need for expert assistance, particularly at the review stages. Fourth, because each
project is different, there is no single correct approach to VM. However, there are a

Essay On Populism
There are, of course, other definitions of populism that are worth at least exploring. One particularly
popular book has been What is Populism by Princeton professor Jan Werner Müller. His definition
asserts that Populism is a moralistic imagination of politics that is anti pluralist and claims exclusive
representation of the people. (Müller 2016, Pg. 20) Ironically, he uses Wallace s Segregation forever
comment to support this claim. We actually argue that this moment was the attaching of populism to
nativist ideology in order to build a winning coalition (as is attested by Wallace himself), not an actual
expression of populism itself (Rowan 1991). We reject his definition on several grounds. The first is
the premise that populists must necessarily be anti pluralist. There is no ground in which this must be
the case. In fact, populist voting populations must be pluralistic in and of themselves, because as he
makes clear, there is no such thing as a homogenous people in existence. The only sense in which they
are not plural is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3). Under this conceptualization the oft used term silent majority makes little sense in the reality of
populism, if populist believe that they speak with the authority of everyone. This seems to be a
convenient theoretical position, not an actual description of populism in the real world. This ironically,
leads to him excluding the original American Populist party of the 1890 s from his own definition of
Populism. Additionally, right wing populism surely differentiates between the elites themselves and
those they view as below them. (See diadic [left wing] vs. triadic [right wing] populism.) Populism is
about a claim to the volonte generale (general will), not the absolute will of the people. (Mudde and

They both strive in creating media that is true to their culture and beliefs. India and France media

the amount of American movies that can be shown in their country throughout the year. This is why on

billboard chart every song expect for one or two are American record songs. There is definitely a
heavy American influence in France. It is shown across every media platform in France. In the article

stereotyping. This is the perfect example of how media can have an effect on society issues.

NFPA 13 Response Paper
We have reviewed NFPA 13, 2013 edition that you indicated as the applicable standard as well as the
2015 edition of the International Building Code (IBC) and the 2015 edition of NFPA 101, the Life
Safety Code (LSC). Our informal interpretation is that the omission of protection is not allowed but it
is allowed for very restricted applications.
The starting point is that NFPA 13 does not allow the omission of protection based on high ceilings.
Although fire modeling on sprinkler activation (DETACT) shows a very large fire (28 megawatts) is
needed to activate a sprinkler in a 100 ft ceiling, FM Global has done full scale testing that s shows
these models are excessively conservative for higher ceilings. As such, it is recognized that there is

Since the NFPA standards do not recognize high ceilings as an issue, one must look at the codes to see
if any such allowances exist. Interestingly, the IBC allows the omission of sprinklers from the ceiling
of the atriums with ceilings greater than 55 ft (see section 404, exception No. 2). It also states this is
allowed only when the area is restricted to low fire hazard uses. These two characteristics equally
apply to the floor area for a sports arena but there are no separation requirements applicable to an
arena so there is a difference. Despite that, Section 507 Exception No. 2 of the IBC has an allowance
for omitting sprinklers for areas of indoor participant sports (that is not triggered by ceiling height).
This section addresses buildings with unlimited area. It requires sprinklers throughout the building
then provides an exception for participant sports. It is limited to buildings no more than one story
above grade plane and has exiting and fire alarm requirements. Since allowed in a building with
unlimited area, it is reasonable to apply it to a standard building. Whether or not the height limit
would still apply would depend on the AHJ. This

Number one was one that had a lot of emotional impact that was taking place throughout the duration

was taking place between Ruth and Fredrick during this time. The melody showed pitches that made
up the different parts of the song. For example, both Ruth and Fredrick take turns on who takes the
melody of the song depending on who is dominant at certain points of the song. Fredrick is more
dominant and the beginning and then Ruth takes the attention later on. Harmony took place as Ruth

There was a tone color of purple because it was very shocking what was being said, but the paradox
part got very upbeat. This part of the story was very surprising and something that I was no expecting.
The melody that was used in number two was used by expressing different pitches. This in relation
into which one of the character was singing at the time. During the duration of this song, the
performers were the Pirate King, Frederick, and Ruth. In coalition to this, the harmony are the sounds
that were sounding simultaneously and throughout this song, the performers would sing together.
There were also times were Ruth was in more of the background which was used to create a different
melody. They also used rhythms that are known throughout the song. For example, at one point it
sounds like a circus theme song. This is used to show how this scene is intended to be one where there
is humor expressed. They are laughing and enjoying the time because Frederick is finding out that
because he was born on Leap Year he is actually only five years old. The meter that was used in song
number two was one that fluctuated depending on what the song was saying. There was no set meter
that it was focused on being. For this song, the texture is also polyphonic because they are singing the
part about paradox at the same time and it shares importance with one another. The dynamics are used

Parental Dominance And Gender Equality
A gender equal society would be the one where the word gender does not exist; where everyone can

society of today, and parental dominance is one of the key contributors in this never ending
predicament. Parental dominance is a severe obstacle the protagonists have to overcome as their birth

The Genetics For Mongol Migration
Maryann Steadman
ANTH 3125
2014, October 11th
Reflection Paper One
Genetics for Mongol Migration Mongolia is located in between Russia and China, and is a neighbor to
Kazakhstan. The people that live there are called Mongols. Mongolia, which is part of Asia, is part of
what composes Eurasia. When it comes to DNA and chromosomal lineage, there are many factors that
lead to how a person will look, who they will mate with, and what decisions they make in that process.
These categories all run under the term genetics. The second week s lecture said that there are three
major types of genetic data. There is autosomal, Y chromosome, and mitochondrial DNA. Autosomal
is a combination of your mother and father s DNA that makes you. Y chromosomes come from your
father and are given to a son, and mitochondrial DNA comes from your mother. Everyone has the
autosomal and mitochondrial aspects of genetics. The mitochondrial makeup is just what genes you
got from your mother. However, only males have the Y chromosome aspect of genetics since males
sex genes are comprised of XY while females are XX. Mongols (and their language of Mongolic)
originally came from the Altai Mountains, which are near Mongolia (week lecture two). In the second
week s lecture it is also noted that Mongolia may have been the original location for starting Y
chromosomal lineage. In Zerial s article, The Genetic Legacy of the Mongols, it talks about Mongols
being a star cluster for other people.

This chapter provides a good history of Youngstown from the early 1980 s to the early 2000s with a
lot focus on the rising crimes that plagued the town. The authors in this chapter at the beginning talks
about how the view of Youngstown went from this image deindustrialization to an image of a crime
infested and political corrupted town (Pg. 190). Linkon and Russo put a lot of focus on the many
stereotypes of Youngstown with most of them holding truth. These stereotypes that read involved
murder, poverty, mafia involvement, and corrupted politicians. The Vindicator reported that
Youngstown during the 1990 s had one of the highest murder rates for a city over fifty thousand (Pg.

through the mob as the chapter goes on. In 1998, George Magazine listed Youngstown as one the ten
most corrupted cities in American, which only added to the title of Crime Town, USA (Pg. 213).

character. She achieves this quality by immediately setting the premise, that Mrs. Mallard s fragile
health would ultimately lead to her demise, upon receiving the news of her husband s death. Before an
immediate assumption can be made about Mrs. Mallard, Chopin begins to start another path. This
divergence is apparent at the point of the story where Mrs. Mallard s reaction is anticipated, yet, She
did not hear the story as many women have heard the same, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The plot is driven by Mrs. Mallard s indulgence in her excitement for new found freedom. She is
building layer upon layer of anticipation for the years to come. That the years indeed will be all hers,
that they will, ...belong to her absolutely (171). When Brently Mallard returns home, the freedom
given birth inside his wife dies with her, while it is believed that she , ...died of heart disease of joy
that kills (171).
The stronger the use of irony, the more honest and true the character becomes to his or her feelings.
The feelings all too often left unspoken are the ones of the most significance, and importance to the
character. For example, in Jack London s To Build a Fire, the main character drives all thoughts of the
pearls of wisdom, and advice from his mind. He expects everything will go his way, but most
importantly his manner of conducting his happy go lucky machismo blinds him from his deepest inner
most instincts. These instincts which are supposed to save his life are repressed until he finds himself
in the utmost of life or death predicaments. The man, who at one point says, Those old timers were
rather womanish, some of them... (a36), when referring to their persistence he not travel alone, is now
a man faced with his inevitable death. The thought of himself lying stiff and dead surfaces, and even at
this most critical stage he tries to repress it, only to find, Sometimes it

The Learning Organisation
Organisational learning and learning organisations have been the focus of a great deal of evaluation
within management literature since the 1990 s (Senge, 1990; Michaux, 2002). This paper aims to
define and critically evaluate the concept of a learning organisation by drawing on the writings of core
authors to both support and demonstrate criticisms of the learning organisation concept.
The Learning Organisation
Organisational learning is a continual process whereby an organisation adapts to its environment by
constantly improving performance through evolving knowledge and understanding by its members
and the organisation (Hartel, Strybosch Blyth, 2006). A learning organisation, on the other hand, is an
organisation which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The level of organisational learning required by an organisation will be dependent on its own
distinctive characteristics and considering the type of organisation and its operating environment, it
may not always be beneficial for an organisation to be a learning organisation (Hartel et al. 2006:
292).
The concept of the learning organisation gained wide acceptance from the works of Peter Senge who
is most well known for his body of work entailed The Fifth Discipline. Here, Senge (1990: 3)
introduces the notion of systems thinking and defines a learning organisation as one where people
continually expand their capacity to create the results they truly desire, where new and expansive
patterns of thinking are nurtured, where collective aspiration is set free, and where people are
continually learning to see the whole together . However, the concept of systems thinking has been
around since the 1950 s but it was not until Senge s writings that it gained popularity and momentum.
Whilst it is necessary for an organisation to apply adaptive or survival learning an example which
would be adapting to changes in the current environment, Senge (1990) asserts that a true learning
organisation is characterised by generative learning which is learning that enhances its capacity to
innovate and create. Generative learning and the

Essay on Gathering the Facts at the Crime Scene
The excitement of watching a beautiful well dressed medical examiner or forensic examiner in stiletto
heels hovering over a homicide victim is quite thrilling for television. However, in the reality solving
homicides is not as one would see on their favorite police show. As mention previous, the intrigue
with police shows on television make it difficult to found a jury that have not seen those type show.
Therefore, the court system has a problem obtaining a guilty verdict because jurors wrongfully acquit
guilty defendants when no scientific evidence has been presented, as they have seen on television. As
Donald Shelton states in the CSI Effect: Does It Exist this so called effect was promptly dubbed the
CSI effect, laying much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This task can be accomplished through forensic evidence collection. Once the evidence has been
collected, it must be preserved by maintaining chain of custody to prevent evidence tainting. The
evidence will be preserved until it ready for presentation at the homicide trial. This paper will examine
the major sources of evidence that is required in a homicide investigation that will assist the
prosecution in obtaining a conviction in a homicide case. The Evident Blood splatter A crime scene is
a unique merging of science and the law. Crime scene investigation is a process that includes
documentation of the conditions at the scene and the collection of any physical evidence that coul¬d
give reference to what happened. There is no typical crime scene, and the evidence found there will
vary. (Layton, 2005) When there is a homicide at a crime scene, the forensic investigator will look for
evidence to provide an indication of what actually happen. Did the person kill their self? Did the
victim suffer at the hands of a criminal? The crime scene investigator will look at blood platter
evidence as source to gain knowledge into these question. Blood splatter evidence give investigator a
scientific assessment into criminal investigation. When blood splatter or drip from the human body, its
is impacted by gravity and velocity. Therefore, it imperative to

Woman Of Algiers Essay
The woman of Algiers was a group of North African woman who inspired Delacroix to paint a portrait
of them during his voyage to North Africa. His painting was a great work of art that gave us the
perfect synthesis between romanticism and classicism and let us view the woman in their relaxed state
in the Muslim Haram. Now Eugene Delacroix wasn t the only one to paint the woman of Algiers,
although he was the creator of the original painting. Pablo Picasso was another influential painter who
was inspired by the painting Delacroix did of the women and decided to create his own unique
version. Both the paintings are well known and of the same scene but have unique characteristics to
make them their own. This essay will go through some of the similarities ... Show more content on

Muslim harems were heavily guarded and so it was difficult to enter one. Delacroix was fortunate
enough to meet a man named Victor Poirel who owned a private harem and so he was granted his wish
to enter and stay for some time and was even given permission to paint several watercolor sketches.
These sketches like mentioned before were painted in morocco, a country in Northern Africa in 1834.
It wasn t made specifically for any one person but was merely a representation of a lifestyle that was
vastly different from the French. Delacroix seemed to be refreshed by the culture that Morocco
presented; from the brightly colored, flowing costumes, the Arabs and their women, and the
enchanting horses all of these seemed to captivate the artist which inspired this work and many of
Delacroix other pieces. From these sketches Delacroix painted Women of Algiers in their apartment
upon his return home and aimed to convey its serenity and sacredness to the outside world. In the
painting we can see four women, three of a lighter complexion and one of a darker complexion. They
seem to be in a relaxed state with their legs crossed and arms rested. They are not looking at

Personal Narrative-After High School
Dinner was ready. The food smelled had a strong scent of chicken, which was funny since it was fish
not chicken, but Albert couldn t eat. He raced off to his room with a platter of food. Albert is just too
busy, and he had work to do. He looked down at the new set of problems he had to finish. For some
positive integers P, there is a quadrilateral ABCD with positive integer side lengths, perimeter P, right
angles at B and C, AB = 2 and CD = AD. How many different values of P 2015 are possible? The
answer was obvious, 31. Even if AMC10 allows you to have 75 minutes, he could get a perfect score
in 45 minutes, which always led to a very boring 30 minutes. He quickly finished his practice

Please welcome Jeremy to our school Mrs. Hicupo announced. Welcome to Mid L. school for gifted
and talented. the class answered in a bored voice. Math was a bore. Even more boring than reading
instructions on how to read. Even if there was a new kid, he had better stuff to do. We also need to
figure out your partners for your project before next week ok? Mrs. Hicupo reminded. Then the bell
rang. It was Thursday, so there were after school sports, and bullies. The bullies. The ones that pushed
and shoved innocent kids around, dominating the halls and buses. Albert attempted to get to his locker
quickly, but kids from everywhere started to pour into the hallways like water. Stampeding into the
halls and running faster than a gazelle. He had to go plan B. That never worked. After getting to his
locker and packing his stuff, he rushed past the talking crowds to the cafeteria, trying to exit through
the small back door, which the bullies never found. Unfortunately, he met the Jimok group before even
reaching the cafeteria. Ha! Kycky said, shoving him to the ground, you re not going anywhere! The
kids laughed. They were just trying to show that they rule. Jimok kicked him, but Albert quickly got
up. Get away from him, what did he do to you! a new voice shouted. The bullies looked back, it was
Jeremy, and Mr. Brickson. The bullies ran away quickly, keeping their head down, trying not to be
seen. They were all cowards, they always ran away from all the adults. Thanks Albert said, then he
rushed past the few people left behind and sprinted to his

  • 2. Analysis Of The Movie The Hunger Games In District 12 of Panem, 16 year old Katniss Everdeen is walking to meet her friend, Gale, a boy she seems to like, in the woods so they can do some hunting for food. As she s walking, she thinks about her mother and her younger sister, Prim, who is 12 years old. They have depended on Katniss for food ever since their father died in a mine explosion when Katniss was 11. It s the day of the reaping, which is very stressful because it determines which boy and girl, ages 12 to 18, will serve as the district s tributes in the Hunger Games. Each of the 12 districts must draw two tributes, and those tributes are sent to an arena where they fight to the death until only one tribute remains alive. The victor s district is given gifts, mainly food, and the victor returns home. The Capitol of Panem puts on the Games to remind and punish the 12 districts of the Dark Days, which was when the 13th district was destroyed for attempting to rise up against the cruel and merciless Capitol. The reaping begins and Prim s name is drawn. Katniss freaks out and volunteers to take her place, making her District 12 s girl tribute. The boy tribute s name is drawn and it s Peeta Mellark, who is the baker s son and the same age at Katniss. Katniss remembers, when they were children, Peeta saw her starving outside in the rain and gave her a burnt piece of bread that his mother had told him to feed to their pigs. Flame Heart By Langston Hughes Analysis Selected Modernism literature passage is from Flame Heart by Claude McKay, I, too, sing America, by Langston Hughes Sweat, by Zora Neale Hurston, and The Bean Eaters, by Gwendolyn Brooks. These passages were written during the Harlem Renaissance period. Close reading gave me an actual account on how Modernism authors of the Harlem Renaissance such as McKay, Hughes, Hurston and Brooks put ideas on paper. Through the ability to perceive, be mindful, and images, close reading gave me an actual account on how Harlem Renaissance authors put ideas on paper. First of all is my impression to a Flame Heart passage by Claude McKay. My first impression of Claude McKay last passage, Flame Heart is that the sonnet couplet has no wild factor. • 4. Maria Montessori And The Montessori Method Maria Montessori was born on August 1870, in a small town in Italy. She was the first woman to obtain her medical degree, which was in 1896. She was intended to challenge the trust of Educations worldwide. In 1906, Maria Montessori worked with handicap children and decided to open her first school, called Casa dei Bambini, which meant Children s House. She is the founder of education called Montessori Method. The Montessori method teaches children to learn through the work that they do. She is also notable for being the first woman to graduate from the University of Rome with a doctorate degree. She died in May 1952, in Netherlands. An auto education is when the child is self taught on how to do a task. The child is able to move onto extensions when they complete the task. Children control their own ability to learn with a little guidance from the teacher. The Practical Life materials that the child work with such as a spoon, teaches the child how to use the spoon and with the proper wrist movements helps the child to learn how to feed themselves. Using a pitcher for water pouring work, teaches the child how to pour water with a pitcher for themselves (self serving). Some things I already knew about Tattooing is a lot of tribes used tattoos to symbolize things, but I didn t know what. With my research I expected to find a lot more upfront information, like maybe a for sure area on where they originated and exactly how it spread, but it was so spread out it was hard for anyone to pinpoint exactly who did them first. Doing my senior project I found out that just doodling a Tattoo is difficult because you wouldn t want it to be flat or too simple, so you have to really but in detail and attempt to put in depth to help your piece come to life even before it s on skin, What I did was I put in a different color where the bottom area of the tentacle is and tried to do highlighting with some silver to give more depth. • 6. Congo’s Era of Damnation In the year 1885, King Leopold II of Belgium imperialized the Independent State of the Congo. Leopold set the area up under his own personal rule. His rule was an extremely negative and very unwanted thing that plunged the area into an era of damnation. The early history of the congo really starts in 150 AD. The indigenous immigrants to the Congo, who were most likely Pygmies, had migrated from the northern area to the savannah regions in the south now called DROC, or Democratic Republic of the Congo (Clarke, John H). These immigrants brought agriculture, and made iron tools. Moving ahead to 1482, the Portuguese navigator, Diogo Cão visited the Congo River marking the first ever known European contact with the region. Henry Stanley, a British explorer is commanded to proclaim King Leopold s rule over the Congo in 1879. However, there were two natural disasters either of which would have been enough to throw medieval Europe into real Dark Ages . The Black Death that followed on the heels of the Great Famine caused millions of deaths, and together they subjected the population of medieval Europe to tremendous struggles, leading many people to challenge old institutions and doubt traditional values. These calamities altered the path of European development in many areas. As soon as the citizens realized what horrible sickness had come from these ships, they expelled them from the port but it was too late. Hundreds of the ships rats had scurried down the mooring ropes tied to the docks. The fleas (Xenopsylla cheopis (oriental rat flea) that these infected vermin hosted were the real carriers of the disease. As the infected rats died off, the fleas would seek any other warm blooded host; which included man. There are no accounts of life in the besieged port, but there is enough information to suggest what Caffa s final days may have looked like. John Kelly writes, As the death toll mounted, the streets would have filled with feral animals feeding on human remains, drunken soldiers looting and raping, old women dragging corpses through rubble, and burning buildings spewing jets of flame and smoke into the Crimean sky. There would have been swarms of rodents with staggering gaits and a strange bloody froth around their snouts, piles of bodies staked like cordwood in public squares, and in every eye, a look of wild panic or dull resignation. Criminalization Of Cannabis In Canada In Canada, cannabis use became illegal in 1923 after the Act to Prohibit the Improper Use of Opium and other Drugs added cannabis to the list of illicit substances. Cannabis then became an illegal substance under the same category of harder drugs such as cocaine and heroin, despite lack of scientific or criminal correlations to suggest such categorization (CAMH, 2014). An increase in illicit drug use in the 1960 s and 1970 s was met by greatly increased criminalization and the associated individual and social costs. The British Columbia Court of Appeal stated that the sentence prescribed by the sentencing judge is within the proper scope of his judgment but still reduced the sentence to two years less a day. Today, there are two Cheyenne tribes. The Southern Cheyenne live in Oklahoma while the Northern Cheyenne settle in Montana. The Cheyenne had an interesting culture and way of life. Boys were taught how to hunt, fish, and fight from their fathers. Girls learned how to cook, clean, and do chores around the house. Also, the children went to school and played with dolls, toys, and games. For example, the Cheyenne kids enjoyed playing the hoop game and lacrosse. Later on, the Cheyenne Indians killed buffalo so they could use buffalo hide to make teepees. They lived in teepees because it was easy to set up and take down. As a result of moving frequently, a teepee allowed the Cheyenne tribe to move within an hour. The Cheyenne women harvested corn, squash, and beans while the men hunted deer and buffalo. • 24. The General Behavior Model Is Developed By Ludwig Brenner... GEBMO or the General Behavior Model was developed by Ludwig Brenner as a way to predict hazards before they happened. Brenner devised a system of scenarios that could occur with multiple factors for each element. The system is basically designed on a cause effect relationship. One thing happens because of another which leads to a result (Haight, 2012). This model was used to develop an emergency action plan for a small community surrounding a gas station. The first step to any emergency action plan is to conduct a hazard assessment and the best way conduct to do that is to conduct a walk through of the facility or area (Haight, 2012). In this scenario, our facility is a service station with fuel holding tanks and convenience store items which is located in close proximity to the center of town, a housing development, an elementary school, playground, baseball field, and wooded area. The nature of the business makes it a hazard, the location of it makes it a hazard to the community. Using the General Behavior Model, possible hazards and their reactions, as well as ways to prevent them are discussed. When working with fuels such as gasoline and diesel, physical hazards to humans are possible. Gasoline is highly explosive and flammable, while diesel is flammable. The use of GEBMO is to prevent or reduce the number of fires and explosions. GEBMO is broken down into seven steps. The first step is to predict a stressing event such as a fire when a tanker is ... A Midsummer s Night Dream may start out with chaos much like how Romeo and Juliet end with chaos, but this play ends in peace and happiness. How the characters get to that point however was rather difficult. It was full of stress and drama; confusion and chaos; singing fairies and a man with an ass head. This tale of four lovers is also the tale of a warrior and a duke; a civilist and a king of shadows; and a mischievous sprite called Robin Goodfellow. The film s main characters are Johnny Depp as Gilbert Grape and Leonardo DiCaprio as Arnie Grape. The film depicts the burden of family caretaking and the affect it has on a family both mentally, physically, and financially. Gilbert is the primary caregiver for his mentally and developmentally disabled seventeen year old brother Arnie (who has the mental capacity of a young child), his morbidly obese mother Bonnie, known as Mama, and his two sisters Amy and Ellen. • 29. Key Requirements For A Successful Vm Implementation Essay There are several important additional requirements for a successful VM implementation ( Jaapar,. et al. 2012). First, unwavering and visible support from top management is an absolute prerequisite for the success of a VM program. Second, it is imperative that all stakeholders (investors, end users, project team, the owner, constructors/manufacturers, designers, specialist suppliers, etc.) be involved in the process, especially during the VP and VE stages. The extent of their involvement depends on the level and stage of the value management process, as well as the person responsible for VM procedures. Third, in larger or more complex projects, an independent/external value manager is needed, as well as an external team with relevant design and technical expertise. Projects that are highly complex are simply too challenging or massively complex to enable one individual to conduct all VM analyses herself. It is important to ensure that when a value manager is appointed to oversee a project, he is afforded the cooperation of all stakeholders. In the case of smaller projects, VM might be undertaken by the sponsor s professional adviser or project manager and, in some cases, an external professional. However, when establishing a structure for dealing with value for money on projects, there may be a need for expert assistance, particularly at the review stages. Fourth, because each project is different, there is no single correct approach to VM. However, there are a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Essay On Populism There are, of course, other definitions of populism that are worth at least exploring. One particularly popular book has been What is Populism by Princeton professor Jan Werner Müller. His definition asserts that Populism is a moralistic imagination of politics that is anti pluralist and claims exclusive representation of the people. (Müller 2016, Pg. 20) Ironically, he uses Wallace s Segregation forever comment to support this claim. We actually argue that this moment was the attaching of populism to nativist ideology in order to build a winning coalition (as is attested by Wallace himself), not an actual expression of populism itself (Rowan 1991). We reject his definition on several grounds. The first is the premise that populists must necessarily be anti pluralist. There is no ground in which this must be the case. In fact, populist voting populations must be pluralistic in and of themselves, because as he makes clear, there is no such thing as a homogenous people in existence. Under this conceptualization the oft used term silent majority makes little sense in the reality of populism, if populist believe that they speak with the authority of everyone. This seems to be a convenient theoretical position, not an actual description of populism in the real world. This ironically, leads to him excluding the original American Populist party of the 1890 s from his own definition of Populism. Additionally, right wing populism surely differentiates between the elites themselves and those they view as below them. (See diadic [left wing] vs. triadic [right wing] populism.) Populism is about a claim to the volonte generale (general will), not the absolute will of the people. (Mudde and Kaltwasser 2017, pg. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Our informal interpretation is that the omission of protection is not allowed but it is allowed for very restricted applications. The starting point is that NFPA 13 does not allow the omission of protection based on high ceilings. Although fire modeling on sprinkler activation (DETACT) shows a very large fire (28 megawatts) is needed to activate a sprinkler in a 100 ft ceiling, FM Global has done full scale testing that s shows these models are excessively conservative for higher ceilings. Since the NFPA standards do not recognize high ceilings as an issue, one must look at the codes to see if any such allowances exist. Interestingly, the IBC allows the omission of sprinklers from the ceiling of the atriums with ceilings greater than 55 ft (see section 404, exception No. 2). It also states this is allowed only when the area is restricted to low fire hazard uses. These two characteristics equally apply to the floor area for a sports arena but there are no separation requirements applicable to an arena so there is a difference. Despite that, Section 507 Exception No. 2 of the IBC has an allowance for omitting sprinklers for areas of indoor participant sports (that is not triggered by ceiling height). This section addresses buildings with unlimited area. It requires sprinklers throughout the building then provides an exception for participant sports. It is limited to buildings no more than one story above grade plane and has exiting and fire alarm requirements. Since allowed in a building with unlimited area, it is reasonable to apply it to a standard building. Whether or not the height limit would still apply would depend on the AHJ. This ... The people that live there are called Mongols. Mongolia, which is part of Asia, is part of what composes Eurasia. When it comes to DNA and chromosomal lineage, there are many factors that lead to how a person will look, who they will mate with, and what decisions they make in that process. These categories all run under the term genetics. The second week s lecture said that there are three major types of genetic data. There is autosomal, Y chromosome, and mitochondrial DNA. Autosomal is a combination of your mother and father s DNA that makes you. Y chromosomes come from your father and are given to a son, and mitochondrial DNA comes from your mother. Everyone has the autosomal and mitochondrial aspects of genetics. The mitochondrial makeup is just what genes you got from your mother. However, only males have the Y chromosome aspect of genetics since males sex genes are comprised of XY while females are XX. Mongols (and their language of Mongolic) originally came from the Altai Mountains, which are near Mongolia (week lecture two). In the second week s lecture it is also noted that Mongolia may have been the original location for starting Y chromosomal lineage. Contrast of Irony and Style in Kate Chopin s The Story of an Hour Kate Chopin s use of irony in her short story, The Story of an Hour, stands in direct contrast to the subtle manner in which she tells the story. Strong use of irony in a short story yields more honesty in a character. She achieves this quality by immediately setting the premise, that Mrs. Mallard s fragile health would ultimately lead to her demise, upon receiving the news of her husband s death. Here, Senge (1990: 3) introduces the notion of systems thinking and defines a learning organisation as one where people continually expand their capacity to create the results they truly desire, where new and expansive patterns of thinking are nurtured, where collective aspiration is set free, and where people are continually learning to see the whole together . However, the concept of systems thinking has been around since the 1950 s but it was not until Senge s writings that it gained popularity and momentum.
