SharePoint: Internet, Intranet, Extranet - Bringing Organizations TogetherPerficient, Inc.
Microsoft SharePoint® Portal Server enables enterprises to deploy an intelligent portal that seamlessly connects users, teams, and knowledge so that people can take advantage of relevant information across business processes to help them work more efficiently. Two great examples are Washington University in St. Louis’ division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences and Cassidy Turley.
Washington University: The Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis was in need of not only a new web site, but a whole new platform to design and develop a dynamic internet presence. Bu utilizing Sharepoint, the new site has given us an efficient and smooth interface with many types of social networking, straightforward integration with existing database of information to broaden the reach of the division to our diverse audiences, and expanded ease of content management staff as well as constituents.
Cassidy Turley: Cassidy Turley is one of the biggest commercial real estate management organizations in the country, with diversified branches and numerous locations across United States – one of them being their brokerage division. In order to integrate all their business units, they needed a platform to organize and disseminate information across the organization and their existing platform was not serving their needs. By using Sharepoint 2010 they were able to create synergy within their organization across multiple divisions.
Office 365 Integration Options - SharePoint Fest 2012Perficient, Inc.
This document discusses different options for integrating an on-premise Active Directory with Microsoft Office 365: no integration, directory integration (synchronization), and Active Directory authentication. Directory integration allows maintaining a single user directory and moderately quick deployment but requires a separate login. AD authentication provides a single sign-on via Active Directory, simplifies application logins, and maintains a single directory, but has a more complex deployment. The document provides example architectures and pros and cons of each option.

Don't Make Us Think: Getting SharePoint to be Useful, Usable, and UsedJ. Kevin Parker, CIP
SharePoint is infamous for being unuseful, unusable, and unused. But the fault is not in the technology—usually, it is a failure to adequately plan and execute practical business solutions that causes SharePoint projects to flounder. It's about user adoption: people need to do their jobs without having to think about how the tools work. In this session, we will explore how to make SharePoint useful, usable, and used through simple information architecture and governance. Presented by J. Kevin Parker from NEOSTEK.
Presented to the Baltimore SharePoint User's Group (BSPUG) in August 2016.
The presentation introduced Formotus, a mobile forms solution. Formotus allows users to design complex business forms that can be used like mobile apps, working both online and offline. It uses the popular InfoPath form designer and aims to replace InfoPath as the new XML cloud designer. Formotus is working with Microsoft on the InfoPath transition and its designer will support both InfoPath and the new Formotus forms service. Demos showed how forms can be themed, simplified, enriched with controls, and reengineered to function more like mobile apps when mobilized.
The document discusses key considerations for SharePoint extranets including branding, authentication, architecture, and deployment options. It provides case studies of organizations that implemented SharePoint extranets to replace home-grown tools for customer and partner portals, enable secure engineering collaboration with external partners, and securely share information with stakeholders on large construction projects.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
