Pull Down Menus & Tool Bars
There are different ways to view your toolbar in WinEst. Here are 2 examples. If you prefer large toolbar buttons,
select ‘Preferences’ from the ‘Tools’ menu option. Now select the Toolbars option from the displayed list of
preferences. To the right, under ‘Style’, change the Images to ‘Large’. Click OK.

WinEst has pull down menus for each of the following - File, Edit, View, Filters, Tables, Tools, Database, Reports,
Custom, Window and Help. When the mouse is clicked on one of these menu items, a list drops down and the
available commands display for that menu. Scan the menus to see the features available in the WinEst program.
Help
Help is always available. You can select the Contents command on the Help menu or press the F1 key to view
help.

Navigating in WinEst
WinEst has three main views. These enable you to follow a structured method for building and reviewing your
estimates. You can move from view to view at any time by clicking one of the corresponding toolbar buttons
(‘Takeoff’, ‘Sheet’ and ‘Totals’) or by making selections from the ‘View’ Menu.
Takeoff View
This view is for adding items to your estimate from the price book Database. From here you can:
• Lookup items in the database
• Perform takeoff calculations
• Assign Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to items

Quering database
Queries are the fastest way to search for information in a database. A query is a database feature that enables the user to display records as well to perform calculations on fields from one or multiple tables.
You can analyze a table or tables by using:-
1. Select query or
2. An action query
Action query:-These are queries that are used to make changes in many records at once. They are mostly used to delete, update, add a group of records from one table to another, or create a new table from another table.
Types of action query in Microsoft Access are:-
1. Update-update data in a table.
2. Append query-add data in a table from one or more tables.
3. Make table Query-Creates a new table from a dynaset
4. Delete query-Delete specified records from one or more tables.
Select query
Is a type of query used for searching and analyzing data in one or more tables. It lets the user specify the search criteria and the records that meet those criteria displayed in a dynaset or analyzed depending on the user requirement.
Creating a selected query
1. Ensure that the database you want to create a query for is open
2. Click the query tab, then new
3. In the new query dialog box, choose either to create a query from in Designing view or using Wizard

Adjust Time

2. The user can select a time entry to change basic information like location, address, city, state and zip. Billable periods can also be selected using drop down menus for the date range.

- 4. Setup entry tab, used to view “Modules and Tables” and“Audit Fields” Sub modules/tabs of Audit. Main Interface
- 5. Use the “Module” drop down menu to select a module The selection will effect two sheets “Modules and Tables” and “Audit Field” as directed by those arrows. These sheets will show all the records related to the module selected. How to Select Module
- 6. In order to enable audit, click “EnableAudit” button This will change the data in the “Audit” field of the selected record from “No” to “Yes”. How to Enable Audit
- 7. In order to remove audit, click on the button named as “Remove Audit”. This action will change “Yes” in the “Audit” field to “No”, as directed by the arrow. How to Remove Audit
- 8. Save” button will save the data entered in the text boxes right to the save button. How to Save Data
- 9. The data can be filtered out from the second sheet using the filter. Enter the value in the textboxes according to their labels and then click on the “Filter” button to get specific data. How to Filter Data
- 10. Enter the “Field Id” in the text box encircled by a rectangle, and then click on the “Filter” button. Current Settings Tab

- 13. Select the process type, that you want to perform on the tables after filtering them. Selecting Process Type
- 14. Data can be filtered by “Tables”, “Dates”, “User” and“Transaction”. Filtering Data
- 15. Data is cleansed, purified or purged in the “Maintenance” tab. Click on “Purge records” to start the process. And Click on “Refresh Records to Purge” to refresh the record list. Maintenance of Data
