This document discusses audience theory and how to apply it to media productions. It defines key concepts of audience including gender, ethnicity, age, region, sexuality and interests. It also discusses several audience theories - Uses and Gratifications Theory, Reception Theory and Todorov's Narrative Theory. Students are tasked with applying one of these theories to one of their own media productions by describing the theory, explaining how it applies with examples, and considering any limitations. Peer assessment and a lesson summary are also outlined.
