This was a general question to get a sense of
who our audience keeps up to date with in
terms of celebrities on social media and to
get a sense of why they do so.
This was helpful as we got a sense of what our audience tends to watch. The
answer with the highest votes was ‘trailers’ of course but was really
interesting was the interest in celebrity interviews and behind the scenes so
this shows how people are interested in information about the film and the
actors so I'll use this when making my film magazine front cover as these can
be helpful in creating my sell lines.
We asked our audience this question so we could see what
intrigues about them. One comment said about ‘real life situations’
are shown which will helpful for me and my group as we portray
real life situations in the trailer such as mental health.
By asking our audience this question will help when looking for
inspiration for the creation of the trailer. A couple responses included
‘gone girl’ which we used for our whole film case study so they’re could
be some similarities but also there was some films mentioned which will
be really helpful. To add on, this was useful to see if people can
recognise a police crime thriller instantly.
Similar to the previous question, it interesting to see what the audience enjoys
about a good crime thriller. Some answers were typical talking about a ‘good
plot twist’ in which our group already discussed, but some responses included
the ‘investigation’ and the build up etc. This caused my group to have several
discussions on what we wanted to show and why the crime was committed in
the first place so that was really helpful.
The responses to this question was beneficial in terms of the impact that actors
have on a film. Most responses indicated that if they know the actor and are a
fan of work, they will most likely watch the film. This will help me when I'm
designing my film magazine and poster and if I should make a big deal of the
actors names being presented on the cover or if I should let their body positions
be the main focus.
This is interesting to think about as
marketing is such a big thing
especially if your a non franchise
film starting from scratch. Most
responses said yes marketing is
important in order to get the
viewers interested.
This question was valuable to
myself as well as my group
because we struggled to think
what emotions we want to
portray towards our audience.
Listed on the left are a lot of
sentiments the audience wants
to feel so when scriptwriting
and filming starts, as a director
I'll keep this in mind and try to
figure within each scenes what
emotions will work well.
This was a question where we literally
wanted to see what the responses and
then act upon it, it was really
important for me to see them as I'm
the director of insieme productions.
Responses were mixed, some said good
actors is a key factor, others talked
about if the director has made
successful movies prior. But the one
response which gave me a real
goal/aim to achieve for was ‘ a good
director knows how to make the
audience feel a certain way and to also
to trick the audience’. Our plot is very
unique but I don’t want to give away all
the clues so I shall keep this aim to
help me when filming starts.
This is the main question out of all
of them which as a group, the
responses were key. Here we gave
a bit of our plot away to see the
audiences reaction. Most people
loved the idea besides from a few
negative comments but we took it
as helpful criticism and will
eventually tweak a few things so
that the audience is fully aware of
what the issues are surrounding
the film.
