Semi-arid regions of Africa and Asia are particularly vulnerable to climate impacts due to existing pressures like harsh climates, poverty, and low development. Hundreds of millions of people in these regions rely on subsistence agriculture and natural resources. The ASSAR project aims to understand how to empower people, organizations, and governments in these regions to adapt to climate change in a way that minimizes vulnerability and promotes long-term resilience over 5 years across 11 countries.
