How: Formed an R&B group with two other girls at 16, their first song got sent to LaFace
Records who signed them to a record deal. Pink was given an ultimatum of going solo, or be
dropped and she chose going solo (Choice disbanded in 1998).
Before being signed: Joined her first band, Middleground, in high school (disbanded after
losing a competition). Performed in Philadephia clubs at 14 (adopted her stage name Pink
around this time). During this time she was convinced to audition to become a member of a
group called Basic Instinct, earned a spot in the lineup (group disbanded without releasing
any music).
