HL: Mind Map (Kind Of)
Title: Me, Myself and Them.
Short Synopsis:
ProtagonistRevy is a teenager who suffers from bipolar disorder (though this
could be subjectto changeto extreme anxiety) and paranoia. Confronted by
her negative emotions and thoughts about herself once again (personified in
her mind as menacing and shadowy creatures who stareat her and say all the
horrible things she feels about herself) Revy must overcomeher struggleand
perseverejustso she can tell her girlfriend Rosa she loves her before going to
bed.
Target Audience:
The target audience of my shortfilm, ideally, is 16+year olds of both male and
female gender, NRS Grade E students or GradeD/C2 working young adults. The
film has mature themes of self-hatred, paranoia and general dark thoughts
which definitely aren’t suited for a younger audience. However, at 16 a lot of
students mature and understand these sortof themes and how they can affect
other people like them. Not only that, but
struggling with these sorts of thoughts and
problems are things that teenagers age 16
and up may very well experience. Having
Revy be a student going to schooljustlike
them allows
them to connect
personally to
her and relate to
what she’s going
through, since
they may very
well be in a
similar position.
Character Profile 1: Revy
Full name; Revy Lillian Rhodes.
Age; 17 years old.
Gender; Female.
Sexual Orientation; Bisexual, leans more towards women.
Role; Protagonist.
How Do They Dress; it depends on how they’refeeling that day. Sometimes,
Revy will wear light clothes like what we see in the shortfilm, sometimes she’ll
wear dark clothes. She always wears her hair down, and she doesn’twear
makeup.
What is Their Personality; Revy’s personality is, for the mostpart, quite chill.
When she’s nothaving a major mood swing that causes her to question why
she’s worth the patience and compassion her friends and girlfriend give her,
she’s morethan content to play video games by herself in her room or chat to
her girlfriend over the phone when at home.
How Will the Audience Relate; As previously stated, students/teenagers may
very well be going through the same sortof mental disorders or anxiety as
Revy goes through, and strugglefighting and coping with the issues they have.
