My song genre is POP.
Where it originated from?
- In Britain it originated in the mid 1950’s. Itsdescription is rock and roll
and the new youth music styles that it influenced.
- The terms ‘popular music’ and ‘pop music’ are often used
interchangeably and describes all music that is popular and includes
many styles.
- STYLISTIC ORIGINS=traditionalpop/ rock and roll.
- CULTURAL ORIGINS=mid 1950’s, US and UK.
- DERIVATIVEFORMS=disco, new wave.
- SUB GENRES= art pop, brill building, sunshinepop, teen pop, dance pop.
- Pop music is eclectic, and often borrows elements from other styles such
as urban, dance, rock and Latin.
