Archway Escorts Research Paper
You have no reason to hesitate: Archway escorts are a pleasure you would be very sorry not to get.
The tube station is not the only interesting thing Archway has to offer. Its history is very particular
by itself. Its name is owed to Archway bridge which was constructed in 1896 in order to provide
better communication with the nearby area. Perhaps it's thanks to these efforts that Archway escorts
can now present such attractiveness, both mental and physical. Before the tunnel was finally built
there were many previous attempts to excavate it, due to importance of this zone to the existence of
swift communication within London and its surroundings. Unfortunately, many of these attempts
ended with collapsions. There existed certain bad fame for all the suicides committed by jumping
off one of the bridges belonging to Archway, the one that replaced the first bridge constructed in
1813 by John Nash. However, you will probably find Archway escorts more interesting than some
dull talk of its bridges. These girls are someone well worth of consideration, Escorts in Archway are

Who could be better to be around than Archway escorts? They can do almost everything: they will
gladly please you in any way you could think of. Their bodies are in better shape than those of the
models you see in TV. There is no better choice than to make acquaintance with some of Archway
escorts. If you do not do this the joke is on you for wasting this kind of an occasion. We can boast
also of their punctuality and obedience, up to the

Ocean Center Building Research Paper
The Ocean Center Building is a building in downtown Long Beach. According to online sources,
this building is 14 stories, its height is 197 foot tall, and it was built in the year 1929 by an architect
under the name of Raymond M. Kennedy. The building contains a collection shops, parking, and
offices. Within the beach level there is a shopping arcade architectural archway key–stoned a
restaurant and several other stops along Pine Street, which is the street that Ocean Center Building
is located along with Ocean Blvd. It also says that there are spaces to park that people can rent
above the shops. The rest of the building is claimed to be reserved for office space and retail. Due to

My Experience At The Retired And Corroded Cottonseed And...
Beside the retired and corroded cottonseed and canola mill located in downtown Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma is a massive bright turquoise–painted grain elevator. It's covered with a mural depicting a
wing spanned scissortail flycatcher flanked by two bison, a bison head, and wheat dancing in the
background. The unique thing about this particular grain elevator is renovated into a rock climbing
gym called Climb UP. According to the company's website, climbupgym.com, sixteen silos and
uniquely shaped rooms make up the 90–foot–tall building (Climb Up, LLC. 2016). He also said
Climb UP houses rock climbing routes up to 140 feet long. Climb UP is an indoor rock climber's
paradise. In June 2016, my parents surprised my younger siblings and I with a month–long family
membership to "the rock climbing place in Bricktown". Upon receiving it, I was skeptical. I never
had an interest in rock climbing, and I highly doubted the facilities of an old granary would be
satisfactory. When I visited Climb UP for the first time, I was beyond impressed. The facility is
innovative, and I receive positive vibes from the staff, other climbers, and atmosphere of Oklahoma
City's Climb UP gym. Currently, I am visiting Climb UP three to five days a week. In this essay, I
will analyze contributing factors to Climb UP's experience and figure their purpose. Climb UP is a

Impausus Water Observation
Date: Circa early first century C.E. Entry 1– I am enraptured by the reality of the new project I have
been selected to be a part of. The site for the new aqueduct is located along the Gardon river just
outside of Nemausus. The location seems promising. The project is one of colossal proportions; it
could take seasons to complete. However, the city of Nemausus will receive a prodigious amount of
water from it. I have been placed to work on what is perhaps the most difficult portion of the
aqueduct to construct. Since the aqueduct must cross the river the architect in charge of the project,
Marcus Vispanius Agrippa, has designed a three tiered archway to allow the water to flow over the
river below. This will allow the water to maintain its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this point in the construction of the aqueduct it is crucial that all calculations are precise or the
water will not flow at the right velocity. Currently, about four of the small arches are finished; there
are still thirty–one more that must be completed. Entry 19– Marcus Agrippa visited the site today.
He is pleased with the progress and is relieved that it will be finished soon. He reminded everyone
that this is the final portion of the aqueduct that needs to be finished before it is functional and can
provide water to the city of Nemausus. This reminder has been a strong motivator for the entire
team. Entry 20– After working on the third tier for nearly six months now, it is almost finished. All
that is left to be completed is a few arches. I brought my cat Marcus back to the construction site
today; all the men were excited to see him again. Although I had to remind them to be careful where
they step so we do not have any more accidents. Entry

I Learned About College University Of Nebraska Wesleyan...
This semester through my Archway seminar I learned many things. Not just about college but
specifically about the University of Nebraska Wesleyan and how the schooling here works. The
Archway seminar is designed to be an intro class into learning how to "college" and it was really an
eye opener for me. Through the assignments of our active reading journals I learned how to look
deeper into thing and really explore their entire meaning. Taking something simple that I read and
writing about experiences and what I thought about it really help this ability grow throughout the
semester. Through the discussion in this class I learned a lot more about each chapter. I looked
forward to the discussion because I enjoyed hearing everyone else's way of thinking. Something's
mentioned in the discussion I would have never thought about. Although I didn't participate in the
discussion as much as others I felt like it got better throughout the semester. I have never really been
one to open up to big crowds and share my opinion. Due to many reasons. But the discussion
allowed me to tear down a little bit of that wall. Both of these experiences are something I know I
will experience throughout my entire college career and learning them the first semester is
something that will really help me along the way. In the book On Looking the most significant part
of this book to me was the just how it opened my mind to the world. This book showed me specific

The Nazi Assult
1. The first exhibit that I experienced was a film on Hitlers' rise to power. It showed how he played
on the fears of the people by using propaganda to promote himself to becoming Chancellor of
Germany. Ever though he lost the election, Hindenburg on January 30, 1933 appointed Hitler
Chancellor.
2. The next thing that caught my interest was a film on anti–Semitism. This film showed the roots
for people's natural fear of the Jews from the times of Christianity through the middle ages and up to
WWII.
3. The more traditional type of exhibit they had was about how the Germans tried to separate Aryans
from what they considered inferior races that did not deserve to exist. They tried to do this very ...

The Germans used these to transport Jews from the Ghettos directly to the concentration camps.
4. The doctors at the concentration camps would perform grotesque operations, and dissections on
the bodies of Jews. And I remember one Jew, who had a severely disfigured skeleton, he was
stabbed to death, and then the doctors proceeded to strip the flesh off of his bones, and preserve his
skeleton for future study.
Personal Response
1. The exhibit really helped me to put all of the pieces that I have learned over the years together.
2. I thought that the archway would be the type of twisted thing that the Nazis would to further
humiliate the Jews.
3. I stood in the boxcar for a couple of seconds, and I looked at the scuffed floor, where the paint
was worn down to the wood, and I could really picture all of those people being crammed into the
boxcar and sent to their deaths.
4. As I watched the movie, I could not grasp that the things that I was seeing were real, especially
the body parts just laying around. It made me feel sick to my stomach that stuff like that happened.

The Last Chapter
1. On this floor there was a wall that was for the people who went out of there way to save Jewish
people from the Nazis. They were organized by from what country they came from, and I remember
reading about one professor who saved close to 1,000 people from the Holocaust.

Kill orphans Or you die X As the carriage stopped beneath the archway, Elizabeth Cockles jumped
out and looked around her. Above her head was a tall archway of trees that edged the pathway to the
house. As she got closer, Elizabeth realised that "mansion" was a more correct way to describe it.
Once one got nearer, the archway opened up until one could see the whole front of the house in a
somehow eerie way. Around the windows grew ivy and creepers, twisting their way up to the roof in

Auntie Cockles gave Elizabeth a grand welcome, and sat her down by the kitchen fire and told her
all the latest news of the orphanage. What interested Elizabeth most was the appearance of a new
housemistress, and the disappearance of four girls her age in the six months after Miss Samuels'
arrival. "And now dear, it is time for bed. Charlotte will show you up to your dormitory, won't you
Charlotte?" smiled Auntie Cockles, before giving Charlotte such a stare, that she at once stood up
and began to lead the way. During the next weeks, Elizabeth was plagued by the memories of her
aunt's face as she spoke of the missing girls, and told her friends of her suspicions, and they told her
that the cellar was supposedly haunted, and dared her to go down and talk to the ghost, or whatever
was down there. Not being one to ever back out of a dare, Elizabeth took her candle and crept down
to the cellar that night. As she opened the door, a horrible smell met her nostrils, and she recoiled
from the stench, and, breathing through her mouth, quietly stepped from step to step. As she reached
the bottom, the flame from her candle illuminated the stinking cellar. At first, she could not make
out anything, but as her eyes became accustomed to the dark, she found four bodies, all wrapped up
in cloth except the feet. Those feet were enough to put almost anyone off, but as Elizabeth could not
see them properly, she ignored them, and with what was either immense

Harry Potter Heroic Monomyth Essay
Books and movies, young and old, generally follow the same path. This path is called heroic
monomyth in which the hero undergoes many tasks and is most likely accompanied by a friend and
meets new trials along the way. In the novel, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling,
the character Harry Potter displays multiple counts of heroic monomyth through the call to
adventure, supernatural aid, and crossing the threshold. In the novel, the call to adventure is present
in multiple ways. First, an unusual letter shows up at the Dursley's home one day. This letter, unlike
all of the other letters and various mail, was addressed to Harry Potter. "Yet here it was, a letter,
addressed so plainly there could be no mistake..." (Rowling 34). It was also made of strange
parchment paper, and signed in emerald which made it stand out. This letter was calling Potter to

Potter's supernatural aid would be considered Rubeus Hagrid, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.
Granger and Weasley are Potter's closest friends throughout the whole novel. They are in his house,
Gryffindor, and they help him along his quest. One example of how they aid him through the
journey is when they help Harry Potter to get to the sorcerer's stone before professor Snape can.
Potter tells them that it is okay if they want to stay behind and maybe they even should, but Weasley
contradicts Potter by saying, "Oh, come off it, you don't think we'd let you go alone" (Rowling 271).
Granger then agrees with Weasley and Potter allows them to come along and help them to get
through the six obstacles leading to the sorcerer's stone. "The door was hit with such force that it
swung clean off its hinges and with a defeating crash landed flat on the floor. A giant man was
standing in the doorway" (Rowling 47) Hagrid is an enormous person who is powerful. He uses his

Arch Of Titus Essay
The Arch of Titus (Italian: Arco di Tito) is a 1st–century honorific triumphal arch located on the Via
Sacra, Rome. It was constructed by the Roman Emperor Domitian in c. 82 AD after the death of his
older brother Titus to commemorate Titus' victories.
The Roman triumphal arch was traditionally a gateway, consisting of a pair of massive pylons
joined by a semi–circular vault. The arch was framed by two columns or more, that were either
engaged or stood on projecting pedestals. The columns are appeared to support the entablature, the
horizontal section across the top of the vault which separated from the attic section. The attic was a
piece of masonry that was decorated with relief sculpture and statuary.
The Arch of Titus is rather quite a traditional structure. It is located in a prominent position along
Rome's Via Sacra (Sacred Way). Its current appearance results in which it was much restored during
the nineteenth century. The arch was once used as a medieval fortress as defence and a chamber was
built into the arch's vault. The large holes that were made were to support the beams and still can be

When I was a child, the only thing I can remember, is breaking both of my arms and causing trouble
for my mother. It was November 1st, 2007, it was a bright sunny day, the sky was blue, and the lake
in the back of my house was sparkling and shining. I didn't understand much because I was three
years old but my mother was taking down the halloween decorations, and in the archway across
from my room hung a black streamer, and of course since I was a baby, I thought I was helping by
taking down the streamer for my mom, but that was the dumbest thing I had ever done. I pulled up a
chair so I could try to reach it but I noticed that the chair was wobbling back and forth, but that
didn't stop me, so I continued to climb the chair. I tried to reach the thick, sparkly, black streamer,
but my arms were too short, short like some branches on a tree, but before I could think of it, the leg
of the chair collapsed, like a building being demolished. I really don't know how it happened, it was
random, but it sure did startle me. I was petrified, the chair fell backwards causing me to fly over it
like a bird. One of my arms hit the archway so hard, my bone snapped, and the other arm however, I
crushed it with all of my body weight. I must've been flung extremely hard. At that time, I was a
human slingshot. My mother heard me crying and she rushed into the dining room. She saw me
laying there beneath the archway crying and unable to function my arms. This was a Catastrophe. T

Romanesque Research Paper
The materials used in Romanesque varied dependant on the whether it was secular or not. The
church could usually afford buildings made completely from stone, this meant they were also
resistant to fire. However smaller projects such as this house at Poreč, Croatia used wood for its
cantilevered walkway. The building materials used differed depending on where in Europe the
building was located, and what local woods and stones were available. The building techniques used
in Romanesque were inspired, as the name suggests, by the Romans. This included the use of the
same semi–circular arches. As the buildings grew taller, their heavy stone roofs had to be supported
by thicker buttressed walls. These thick walls and heavy roofs meant windows would cause major
structural weaknesses so were kept to a minimum. This left Romanesque churches and cathedrals
dark and castle like. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This meant the use of a barrel vault was needed to distribute the weight back to the walls and
columns. Other features of the Romanesque style include arcades, towers, and tympanums. Arcades
were used as roof supports to run along underneath archways. Blind arcades were used in areas that
couldn't support an open archway and sealed it with a wall while still preserving the aesthetic.
Towers can be seen used as west works placed at the east and west ends of cathedrals. Towers called
campaniles such as the leaning tower of Pisa with its multiple arcades also saw use. Tympanums are
large semicircles that usually depicted stories from the bible and are located above the main

Mickve Israel Architecture Analysis
SUBJECTIVE The Congregation of Mickve Israel is a beautiful example of Gothic architecture
with Islamic influence. Located in Monterey Square in Savannah, Georgia between East Wayne and
Gordon Street, this gorgeous temple stands out amongst savannah architecture. Looking at the
temple, I first thought it was just another church as a result of this Gothic Revival style. But, then I
noticed the star of David and realized it was the building I was looking for. I have never seen a
synagogue in this architectural style, making this structure truly unique. Mickve Israel's tower is
truly fascinating in its intricacies, and I was very surprised to find Islamic influence in the structure.
The tower's details with lancet stained–glass windows and the repeated quatrefoils are just another
example of this building's beautiful complexity. The cornices and embattlements leading up to the
minaret/copula are riddled with multifaceted details. The design of this portion of the temple draws
the eye up to the roof of the minaret, which I assume at one point was copper. Now, in greenish teal
color, the roof pairs beautifully with the rest of the color scheme of Mickve Israel. Sand tan, white
and teal convalesce in this structure and create an architectural masterpiece that one can't take their
eyes away from. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

simply just another example of Gothic architecture. This embellishment comes to a halt when it

Mickve Israel. Before the projecting transepts and underneath the rose windows is a continuation of

Pompeii Essay
This will be a research report on Pompeii, how it was affected by the eruption of Vesuvius and how
it was designed. Pompeii was a town in Italy and would soon to become disrupted by many
disasters, and an even bigger event to follow. The eruption of Vesuvius would terrify shock and kill
thousands of people living in the town, perhaps only a handful of townsfolk had survived that
fateful day. Many tried to escape the ash, hiding in house corners, believing that they would be safe,
or running towards the shores where boats were located, but the majority of people had died on that
day. Pompeii, a medium sized town, was located about ninety miles south of Rome. Pompeii was
founded in six–hundred B.C. in front of Mount Vesuvius, which stood approximately six–thousand,
five–hundred feet from the ground into the air. Apparently, nobody in the town was well aware that
Vesuvius was an active volcano; they didn't even know that it was a volcano until the huge eruption
of Vesuvius, leaving thousands to die. Pompeii is located on a plateau that was created by lava flow
from volcanoes around the area, then hardening to create a rock substance. The city of Pompeii was
built from north to south, Vesuvius being on the north end of the town. Vesuvius offered rich, fertile
land that was suitable for growing healthy vegetation, then would be harvested and sorted out to eat
later. Southwards of Pompeii gently flowed, the river of Sarnus, this river was very crucial towards

The Catholic Church Located Near
There are five Catholic churches located near me according to the Catholic directory. The decision
was made to attend a service at Our Lady of Grace Church which is located on South Chapman

the first thing noticed is how large the church is on the inside as well as the outside. Beautiful tall
cathedral ceilings with archways, after archways, after archways, and a beautiful altar. The first
thing you do is dip your fingers in the bowl containing holy water and cross yourself. According to
websites, this is to remember your baptism. If you have not been baptized you do not dip your
fingers in the water. After dipping into the holy water, you bless yourself by saying "In the name of
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit" while doing the motion of a cross on the forehead, lower
chest, left shoulder, then right shoulder. Walking to the pew, there are some people who bow, there
are some people, who bend their knees, and there are some people who actually go all the way down
to the ground. The reason for the bow is to bow to the altar, genuflect to the tabernacle.
Genuflecting is when the right knee touches the floor and the tabernacle is where the Body of Christ
is kept. Once at the seats, the entrance song begins. This signals the start of Mass. This Sunday it
was Praise My Soul, The King of Heaven, and Hymn. As this song is being sung, the priest and

Tampa is home to many great historical landmarks and architecture, with a rich diverse culture one
is bound to find something new around each block. Ybor City being the small "city" that it is home
to almost 1,000 historical buildings, some have been well kept and some have been left to decay.
The history you can see in each building is astounding and it is like taking a step into a Latin

however there is much to see and do in Ybor and without it a vital part of one of the founding areas
would be lost forever.

Gothic Arches Versus Romanesque Arches
Thesis, Argument Outline, and Evidence In the late 12th century the Romanesque period of style
morphed into the Gothic period of style. The Romanesque period was characterized by the
following: thick walls, barrel/round arches, supporting groin vaults, and thick buttresses (Calkins
1998, 110). The Gothic period was characterized by the following: thin walls, pointed arches,
stained glass, and flying buttresses (Icher 1998, 20–30). During the early medieval years, the use of
thick walls in building a church or cathedral was not only to create a stable monumental building
but to help protect the building during wars or battles. Building thick stone walls also helped protect
the building from "incendiarism" which tended to happen frequently ... Show more content on

Which created a range of magnanimous feelings and emotions that added to the spirituality of going
to church. Saint Denis cathedral, located near Paris, is a wonderful example of how cathedrals were
being built in the Gothic style in order to create a sense of awe and wonder. The bishop at the time
wanted to have a church that "specifically represented his role and his spiritual and/or temporal
power (Icher 1998, 35)." After he built the new and first Gothic cathedral many other bishops in
surrounding areas felt that they needed the same, a new cathedral rather than their old Romanesque
churches. Thus, spreading the Gothic style cathedral into other areas of Europe. Gothic
characteristics have been transferred throughout Europe also by ways of the commercialization of
religious pilgrimages. Whenever a new cathedral was built people would flock to it to see the
outstanding and lavish building. And when those on the pilgrimages went home also brought with
them a glimpse of the Gothic architecture, which then led them to using the influence of the Gothic
period in their construction of churches (Anderson 1985, 45). Bishops were very competitive about
the size of their cathedrals, which may explain the beginning construction on the Beauvis Cathedral,
that was never finished (Calkins 1998, 241 & 308). The Beauvis Cathedral was supposed to be very
tall and be very ornate in design. The only sections finished on the cathedral were

Constantine's Influence On Christianity
In the beginning of the fourth century christianity was nothing more than a growing mystery in the
cities of Rome. Constantine is often credited with primarily introducing and converting the Roman
empire to follow the christian faith. His rule brought about the conversion of citizens from different
social standings. His religious influence culturally enriched christian art, adding different styles to
the works of the greco– roman world. Combining the early abstraction of christian art and
diminishing the use of roman imperial realism.
Constantine 's faith in christianity was founded much later in his life. The association he had in
christianity was thanks to a battle for the control of the Western Roman Empire. In 312 A.D.

Christianity in many ways taking on the aura of Imperial Rome and Rome becoming a staple of
Christian belief.
Constantine unified the Roman Empire in 324 A.D. under his rule. He rebuilt his influence in
predominantly Christian Byzantium, which was changed by Constantine to Constantinople( today it
is known as Istanbul). The advance of a Christian ruling society under Constantine ensured the faith
's increasing prominence through the Roman, and later Byzantine, Empire. As time went on
Constantine become even more involved with the Christian church. At first he appeared to have a
very little grasp of the basic beliefs of the Christian faith. But gradually he became more acquainted
with them. Constantine took part in the first meeting of Christian church, the Council of Nicea. It
was held in 325 A.D. in what is now Iznik,Turkey. He hoped to help leaders of the church find
common grounds on some aspects of Christian belief system. Some believe that Constantine 's new
found faith was used as more of a political advance rather than a full conversion, but the influence
his christianity played on the Roman Empire was above doubt.

Virgin and Child with Four Angels by Gerard David Essay
Virgin and Child with Four Angels by Gerard David The Virgin and Child with Four Angels was
painted by Gerard David in about
1510, right in the middle of the Renaissance. The painting is rectangular in shape and appears to be
about two feet long by maybe a foot and a half wide. It is oil painted on wood and it looks to be in
very good condition. The painting is an image, as its title suggests, of the Virgin with the infant baby
Jesus. This, of course, was a very common subject during the renaissance and for years before and
after it. There are countless paintings of the Virgin and Child from that time period, probably
because of the power and influence of the church at the time. People were much more ... Show more

The space, too, shows signs that this painting is from the Renaissance. There is clearly a recession in
space, although it is seen mostly in the landscape beyond the main subject. But even in the
foreground, the use of diagonals to create architectural perspective on the columns and on the tiled
floor gives the feeling of looking back into space. Again, that becomes fully obvious when looking
at the landscape beyond. Arial perspective is used very well to make the mountains in the far
distance appear quite a bit hazier than the church that is supposed to be a little closer to the viewer,
and that is even slightly hazier than the brick wall, shrubs, and trees that are right outside of that
archway. David also makes the objects that are meant to be closer much larger. That mountain, of
course, would be massive. But, because of the perspective he uses, it appears to be only about the
size of the top of the church. Additionally, almost all of the figures in the painting lead the viewer's
eye right to the baby Jesus. Each of the angels, except the one playing the guitar, are looking
directly at him so that when the viewer looks at them, they immediately look over to Jesus. Even
Mary, who is also the subject of the composition, is looking down at the baby. Renaissance
paintings often used tricks like that to draw the viewer's eye to the main subject, which was usually
Jesus.

Analysis Of The Arch Of Constantine
The Arch of Constantine
The Arch of Constantine is located along the Via Triumphalis in Rome, situated between both the
Colosseum and the Temple of Venus and Roma. Along the width of the arch, there are three arches
with partially engaged Corinthian columns. The arch is about 20 meters high, 25 meters wide, and 7
meters deep. At the central opening, it is almost 12 meters high, with identical inscribed marble
panels above, one on each side, that read:
"To the Emperor Caesar Flavius Constantinus, the Greatest, pious, fortunate, the Senate and people
of Rome, by inspiration of divinity and his own great mind with his righteous arms on both the
tyrant and his faction in one instant in rightful battle he avenged the republic, dedicated this arch as
a memorial to his military victory"
The most amazing features of the Arch are the relief sculptures. Many of the sculptures are standard
roman art, like the Nike figures above the central archway. Other elements show a multiplicity of
styles. In fact, many of the sculptures of the arch were reused building stone or sculptures taken
away from older monuments dating around the 2nd century C.E. The origins of the sculptures, with
their imperial style, are resembled to those of the reigns of Trajan, Hadrian, and Marcus Aurelius.
Most of the reliefs feature the emperors participating in activities that demonstrate their authority
and piety by addressing troops and defeating enemies.

the shrine's elegance. Count Hermann Keyserling describes the monument as, "A massive marble
structure, without weight, as if formed of ether, perfectly rational and at the same time entirely
decorative (Taj Mahal, 2008).Keyserling went on to say, "It is perhaps the greatest art work which
the forming spirit of mankind has ever brought forth (Taj Mahal, 2008)." An American novelist,
Bayard Taylor referred to this structure as a castle in the air (Taj Mahal, 2008). Constructed as a
tomb for the emperor's deceased wife, the Taj Mahal stands as one of the greatest manmade
creations in the history of the world.
The travel website, Taj Mahal, illustrates the origins of this monument. It was constructed to serve
as a memorial and tomb for Mumtaz Mahal, the deceased wife of the emperor Shah Jahan (Taj

build a monument to honor her as stated by the Taj Mahal website (Taj Mahal, 2008). In 1631,
construction began, and was finally completed twenty–two years later (Taj Mahal, 2008). Twenty–

Scourging Of The Four Martyrs Summary
Niccolo di Pietro Gerini's Scourging of the Four Crowned Martyrs (1385–90) depicts a scene in
which four martyrs are pursued by a group of men with some scourging tool (which resembles a
modern–day rake). A late Gothic painting in which Gerini depicts a Catholic story of the Four
Crowned Martyrs, the Scourging incorporates much of the static, stiff forms which are characteristic
of the period's prevailing style. In the painting, one can notice clear divisions of space, distinct
separations of forms within that space, and emphases on the men doing the scourging within that
space as a function of where the light is directed in the painting. An analysis of these three key
elements of the painting suggests a cohesive assertion about the way the painting's subjects are
depicted within the image. Initially it seems apparent that the four martyrs are depicted in a negative
manner with the scourging men taking precedence. However, an analysis beyond the obvious
elements – particularly the figure suspended in the air and the devilish figures attacking the
scourging men – suggest that the four martyrs are actually being depicted in a more positive light. A
brief discussion of the subject matter of the painting serves as an important starting point. The most
obvious subjects, as suggested by the title of the piece, are the four crowned martyrs. Located on the
far right side of the painting to the viewer are the four crowned martyrs being pursued by the men in
front of them (to our

It was constructed in c. 82 AD by the Roman Emperor Domitian shortly after the death of his older
brother Titus to commemorate Titus' victories, including the Siege of Jerusalem in 70 AD.
The Arch of Titus has provided the general model for many of the triumphal arches erected since the
16th century–perhaps most famously it is the inspiration for the 1806 Arc de Triomphe in Paris,
France, completed in 1836.
The arch is large with both fluted and unfluted columns, the latter being a result of 19th century
restoration.[2] The spandrels on the upper left and right of the arch contain personifications of
victory as winged women. Between the spandrels is the keystone, on which there stands a female on
the East side and a male on the West side.[2]

This will be a research report on Pompeii, how it was affected by the eruption of Vesuvius and how
it was designed. Pompeii was a town in Italy and would soon to become disrupted by many
disasters, and an even bigger event to follow. The eruption of Vesuvius would terrify, shock and kill
thousands of people living in the town, perhaps only a handful of townsfolk had survived that
fateful day. Many tried to escape the ash, hiding in house corners, believing that they would be safe,

economic life of the citizens in Pompeii. The river of Sarnus was easily navigable which allowed

On February fifth, A.D. 62, Pompeii was struck by a violent and destructive earthquake which

allowing it to become more susceptible to devastation and heavy damage. Vesuvius was also

Impact Of Globalization On Chicago 's Chinatown
On November 6, I went to Chinatown and I had my dinner at there. All the way down to the South,
after I passed lakeshore drive and downtown, I arrived Chinatown. Usually I go to Chinatown once
a week because I am from China and thus I really like Chinese food. First, I went to Little Lamb Hot
Pot to have my dinner. After the dinner, I went to the food market to buy some food supplies and
cooking materials. In my opinion, the impact of globalization in Chicago's Chinatown can be
reflected in food, commodity, and culture. Little lamb Hot Pot is a typical hot pot restaurant.
Basically speaking, a big pot with boiled water is placed in the central of the table, and there is an
induction cooker under the hot pot to keep the boiled water simmers. People put different hot pot
dishes into the boiled water and wait until the dished become cooked. Hot pot hot pot dishes include
thinly sliced meat, leaf vegetables, and seafood. There are several options for the sauce. Such as
sesame paste, hoisin sauce, and oyster sauce. Usually Chinese people like to dip the cooked dishes
into the sauce. When I looked in menu, I found that this restaurant actually serves pig's stomach.
Pig's stomach is a popular hot pot dish in the north parts of China, but I think it may be very strange
for Americans and Westerners. Therefore, the fact of Little Lamb Hot Pot serves pig stomach made
me really surprised, and I think that could be explained as the result of globalization. As more and

The Glass Menagerie Introductory Paragraph Analysis
The Glass Menagerie: Stoplight Paragraph

the trait of government because laws are made up by the government. From "The Code of
Hammurabi","If a son has struck his father, they shall cut off his hands... If he has so people can

How Coffee Is Becoming Increasingly Popular And Trendy
Introduction
Having worked in independent coffee establishments I recognised how the coffee culture is
becoming increasingly popular and trendy, coffee has become a worldwide commodity and the
demand for good artisan coffee is increasing year on year.
I initially considered opening my own coffee shop but after doing research I realised that I would
require in excess of £25K in order to secure premises buy equipment and cover the rent deposit and
legal fees.
In the area where I live there is a well–established busy deli on the high street selling artisan cheese,
charcuterie and various organic dry goods. There appeared to be some space available to the rear of
the shop, and also space outside the shop that was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Business/ Structure
The company will be called Deli Junction Coffee and it will run initially as a sole trader business. I
have chosen this business model as it is much simpler and less expensive than setting up a limited
company which has its own separate legal identity and has more legal obligations to adhere to.
The business will sell gourmet artisan coffee from Alchemy Coffee Roasters. The coffee will be
mainly for take away although I have secured the outside area to the front of the premises which
belongs to the deli owner who has agreed that I can set out tables and chairs. Deli Junction Coffee
will also sell a selection of speciality teas from Prince and Sons, award winning hot chocolate from
Kokoa as well as vegan and gluten free cake alongside non–specialised cakes and pastries from a
local baker.
We have agreed on a rent of £400 per calendar month inclusive with 2 months deposit to be
reviewed in 12months.

Archway Escorts Research Paper

  • 1. Archway Escorts Research Paper You have no reason to hesitate: Archway escorts are a pleasure you would be very sorry not to get. The tube station is not the only interesting thing Archway has to offer. Its history is very particular by itself. Its name is owed to Archway bridge which was constructed in 1896 in order to provide better communication with the nearby area. Perhaps it's thanks to these efforts that Archway escorts can now present such attractiveness, both mental and physical. Before the tunnel was finally built there were many previous attempts to excavate it, due to importance of this zone to the existence of swift communication within London and its surroundings. Unfortunately, many of these attempts ended with collapsions. There existed certain bad fame for all the suicides committed by jumping off one of the bridges belonging to Archway, the one that replaced the first bridge constructed in 1813 by John Nash. However, you will probably find Archway escorts more interesting than some dull talk of its bridges. • 3. My Experience At The Retired And Corroded Cottonseed And... Beside the retired and corroded cottonseed and canola mill located in downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is a massive bright turquoise–painted grain elevator. It's covered with a mural depicting a wing spanned scissortail flycatcher flanked by two bison, a bison head, and wheat dancing in the background. The unique thing about this particular grain elevator is renovated into a rock climbing gym called Climb UP. According to the company's website, climbupgym.com, sixteen silos and uniquely shaped rooms make up the 90–foot–tall building (Climb Up, LLC. 2016). He also said Climb UP houses rock climbing routes up to 140 feet long. Climb UP is an indoor rock climber's paradise. In June 2016, my parents surprised my younger siblings and I with a month–long family membership to "the rock climbing place in Bricktown". Upon receiving it, I was skeptical. I never had an interest in rock climbing, and I highly doubted the facilities of an old granary would be satisfactory. When I visited Climb UP for the first time, I was beyond impressed. The facility is innovative, and I receive positive vibes from the staff, other climbers, and atmosphere of Oklahoma City's Climb UP gym. Currently, I am visiting Climb UP three to five days a week. In this essay, I will analyze contributing factors to Climb UP's experience and figure their purpose. Climb UP is a master of color concept in branding. • 4. Impausus Water Observation Date: Circa early first century C.E. Entry 1– I am enraptured by the reality of the new project I have been selected to be a part of. The site for the new aqueduct is located along the Gardon river just outside of Nemausus. The location seems promising. The project is one of colossal proportions; it could take seasons to complete. However, the city of Nemausus will receive a prodigious amount of water from it. I have been placed to work on what is perhaps the most difficult portion of the aqueduct to construct. Since the aqueduct must cross the river the architect in charge of the project, Marcus Vispanius Agrippa, has designed a three tiered archway to allow the water to flow over the river below. This will allow the water to maintain its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At this point in the construction of the aqueduct it is crucial that all calculations are precise or the water will not flow at the right velocity. He is pleased with the progress and is relieved that it will be finished soon. He reminded everyone that this is the final portion of the aqueduct that needs to be finished before it is functional and can provide water to the city of Nemausus. This reminder has been a strong motivator for the entire team. Entry 20– After working on the third tier for nearly six months now, it is almost finished. • 5. I Learned About College University Of Nebraska Wesleyan... This semester through my Archway seminar I learned many things. Not just about college but specifically about the University of Nebraska Wesleyan and how the schooling here works. The Archway seminar is designed to be an intro class into learning how to "college" and it was really an eye opener for me. Through the assignments of our active reading journals I learned how to look deeper into thing and really explore their entire meaning. Taking something simple that I read and writing about experiences and what I thought about it really help this ability grow throughout the semester. Through the discussion in this class I learned a lot more about each chapter. I looked forward to the discussion because I enjoyed hearing everyone else's way of thinking. Something's mentioned in the discussion I would have never thought about. Although I didn't participate in the discussion as much as others I felt like it got better throughout the semester. I have never really been one to open up to big crowds and share my opinion. Due to many reasons. But the discussion allowed me to tear down a little bit of that wall. Both of these experiences are something I know I will experience throughout my entire college career and learning them the first semester is something that will really help me along the way. In the book On Looking the most significant part of this book to me was the just how it opened my mind to the world. This book showed me specific things and details that I had never ... This film showed the roots for people's natural fear of the Jews from the times of Christianity through the middle ages and up to WWII. 3. Personal Response 1. The exhibit really helped me to put all of the pieces that I have learned over the years together. 2. I thought that the archway would be the type of twisted thing that the Nazis would to further humiliate the Jews. 3. I stood in the boxcar for a couple of seconds, and I looked at the scuffed floor, where the paint was worn down to the wood, and I could really picture all of those people being crammed into the boxcar and sent to their deaths. 4. • 12. Arch Of Titus Essay The Arch of Titus (Italian: Arco di Tito) is a 1st–century honorific triumphal arch located on the Via Sacra, Rome. It was constructed by the Roman Emperor Domitian in c. 82 AD after the death of his older brother Titus to commemorate Titus' victories. The Roman triumphal arch was traditionally a gateway, consisting of a pair of massive pylons joined by a semi–circular vault. The arch was framed by two columns or more, that were either engaged or stood on projecting pedestals. The columns are appeared to support the entablature, the horizontal section across the top of the vault which separated from the attic section. The attic was a piece of masonry that was decorated with relief sculpture and statuary. The Arch of Titus is rather quite a traditional structure. It is located in a prominent position along Rome's Via Sacra (Sacred Way). Its current appearance results in which it was much restored during the nineteenth century. I didn't understand much because I was three years old but my mother was taking down the halloween decorations, and in the archway across from my room hung a black streamer, and of course since I was a baby, I thought I was helping by taking down the streamer for my mom, but that was the dumbest thing I had ever done. • 16. Romanesque Research Paper The materials used in Romanesque varied dependant on the whether it was secular or not. The church could usually afford buildings made completely from stone, this meant they were also resistant to fire. However smaller projects such as this house at Poreč, Croatia used wood for its cantilevered walkway. The building materials used differed depending on where in Europe the building was located, and what local woods and stones were available. The building techniques used in Romanesque were inspired, as the name suggests, by the Romans. This included the use of the same semi–circular arches. As the buildings grew taller, their heavy stone roofs had to be supported by thicker buttressed walls. Mickve Israel's tower is truly fascinating in its intricacies, and I was very surprised to find Islamic influence in the structure. The tower's details with lancet stained–glass windows and the repeated quatrefoils are just another example of this building's beautiful complexity. The cornices and embattlements leading up to the minaret/copula are riddled with multifaceted details. The design of this portion of the temple draws the eye up to the roof of the minaret, which I assume at one point was copper. Pompeii was a town in Italy and would soon to become disrupted by many disasters, and an even bigger event to follow. The eruption of Vesuvius would terrify shock and kill thousands of people living in the town, perhaps only a handful of townsfolk had survived that fateful day. Many tried to escape the ash, hiding in house corners, believing that they would be safe, or running towards the shores where boats were located, but the majority of people had died on that day. Pompeii, a medium sized town, was located about ninety miles south of Rome. Pompeii was founded in six–hundred B.C. in front of Mount Vesuvius, which stood approximately six–thousand, five–hundred feet from the ground into the air. Apparently, nobody in the town was well aware that Vesuvius was an active volcano; they didn't even know that it was a volcano until the huge eruption of Vesuvius, leaving thousands to die. Pompeii is located on a plateau that was created by lava flow from volcanoes around the area, then hardening to create a rock substance. The city of Pompeii was built from north to south, Vesuvius being on the north end of the town. The Romanesque period was characterized by the following: thick walls, barrel/round arches, supporting groin vaults, and thick buttresses (Calkins 1998, 110). The Gothic period was characterized by the following: thin walls, pointed arches, stained glass, and flying buttresses (Icher 1998, 20–30). Which created a range of magnanimous feelings and emotions that added to the spirituality of going to church. Saint Denis cathedral, located near Paris, is a wonderful example of how cathedrals were being built in the Gothic style in order to create a sense of awe and wonder. The bishop at the time wanted to have a church that "specifically represented his role and his spiritual and/or temporal power (Icher 1998, 35)." After he built the new and first Gothic cathedral many other bishops in surrounding areas felt that they needed the same, a new cathedral rather than their old Romanesque churches. Thus, spreading the Gothic style cathedral into other areas of Europe. Gothic characteristics have been transferred throughout Europe also by ways of the commercialization of religious pilgrimages. Whenever a new cathedral was built people would flock to it to see the outstanding and lavish building. And when those on the pilgrimages went home also brought with them a glimpse of the Gothic architecture, which then led them to using the influence of the Gothic period in their construction of churches (Anderson 1985, 45). Bishops were very competitive about the size of their cathedrals, which may explain the beginning construction on the Beauvis Cathedral, that was never finished (Calkins 1998, 241 & 308). • 24. Constantine's Influence On Christianity In the beginning of the fourth century christianity was nothing more than a growing mystery in the cities of Rome. Constantine is often credited with primarily introducing and converting the Roman empire to follow the christian faith. His rule brought about the conversion of citizens from different social standings. His religious influence culturally enriched christian art, adding different styles to the works of the greco– roman world. Combining the early abstraction of christian art and diminishing the use of roman imperial realism. Constantine 's faith in christianity was founded much later in his life. The advance of a Christian ruling society under Constantine ensured the faith 's increasing prominence through the Roman, and later Byzantine, Empire. As time went on Constantine become even more involved with the Christian church. At first he appeared to have a very little grasp of the basic beliefs of the Christian faith. But gradually he became more acquainted with them. Constantine took part in the first meeting of Christian church, the Council of Nicea. It was held in 325 A.D. in what is now Iznik,Turkey. He hoped to help leaders of the church find common grounds on some aspects of Christian belief system. • 26. Virgin and Child with Four Angels by Gerard David Essay Virgin and Child with Four Angels by Gerard David The Virgin and Child with Four Angels was painted by Gerard David in about 1510, right in the middle of the Renaissance. The painting is rectangular in shape and appears to be about two feet long by maybe a foot and a half wide. It is oil painted on wood and it looks to be in very good condition. The painting is an image, as its title suggests, of the Virgin with the infant baby Jesus. This, of course, was a very common subject during the renaissance and for years before and after it. There are countless paintings of the Virgin and Child from that time period, probably because of the power and influence of the church at the time. People were much more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The space, too, shows signs that this painting is from the Renaissance. There is clearly a recession in space, although it is seen mostly in the landscape beyond the main subject. But even in the foreground, the use of diagonals to create architectural perspective on the columns and on the tiled floor gives the feeling of looking back into space. Again, that becomes fully obvious when looking at the landscape beyond. Arial perspective is used very well to make the mountains in the far distance appear quite a bit hazier than the church that is supposed to be a little closer to the viewer, and that is even slightly hazier than the brick wall, shrubs, and trees that are right outside of that archway. David also makes the objects that are meant to be closer much larger. That mountain, of course, would be massive. But, because of the perspective he uses, it appears to be only about the size of the top of the church. Additionally, almost all of the figures in the painting lead the viewer's eye right to the baby Jesus. Each of the angels, except the one playing the guitar, are looking directly at him so that when the viewer looks at them, they immediately look over to Jesus. Even Mary, who is also the subject of the composition, is looking down at the baby. Renaissance paintings often used tricks like that to draw the viewer's eye to the main subject, which was usually Jesus. The lighting seems to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Arch Of Constantine The Arch of Constantine The Arch of Constantine is located along the Via Triumphalis in Rome, situated between both the Colosseum and the Temple of Venus and Roma. Along the width of the arch, there are three arches with partially engaged Corinthian columns. The arch is about 20 meters high, 25 meters wide, and 7 meters deep. At the central opening, it is almost 12 meters high, with identical inscribed marble panels above, one on each side, that read: "To the Emperor Caesar Flavius Constantinus, the Greatest, pious, fortunate, the Senate and people of Rome, by inspiration of divinity and his own great mind with his righteous arms on both the tyrant and his faction in one instant in rightful battle he avenged the republic, dedicated this arch as a memorial to his military victory" The most amazing features of the Arch are the relief sculptures. Many of the sculptures are standard roman art, like the Nike figures above the central archway. Other elements show a multiplicity of styles. In fact, many of the sculptures of the arch were reused building stone or sculptures taken away from older monuments dating around the 2nd century C.E. The origins of the sculptures, with their imperial style, are resembled to those of the reigns of Trajan, Hadrian, and Marcus Aurelius. • 32. Scourging Of The Four Martyrs Summary Niccolo di Pietro Gerini's Scourging of the Four Crowned Martyrs (1385–90) depicts a scene in which four martyrs are pursued by a group of men with some scourging tool (which resembles a modern–day rake). A late Gothic painting in which Gerini depicts a Catholic story of the Four Crowned Martyrs, the Scourging incorporates much of the static, stiff forms which are characteristic of the period's prevailing style. In the painting, one can notice clear divisions of space, distinct separations of forms within that space, and emphases on the men doing the scourging within that space as a function of where the light is directed in the painting. An analysis of these three key elements of the painting suggests a cohesive assertion about the way the painting's subjects are depicted within the image. Initially it seems apparent that the four martyrs are depicted in a negative manner with the scourging men taking precedence. However, an analysis beyond the obvious elements – particularly the figure suspended in the air and the devilish figures attacking the scourging men – suggest that the four martyrs are actually being depicted in a more positive light. A brief discussion of the subject matter of the painting serves as an important starting point. The most obvious subjects, as suggested by the title of the piece, are the four crowned martyrs. Located on the far right side of the painting to the viewer are the four crowned martyrs being pursued by the men in front of them (to our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

People put different hot pot dishes into the boiled water and wait until the dished become cooked. Hot pot hot pot dishes include thinly sliced meat, leaf vegetables, and seafood.
