Essay about Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever
Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever
Ebola hemorrhagic fever (Ebola HF) is a severe, often fatal disease in humans and nonhuman primates
(monkeys and chimpanzees) that has appeared sporadically since its initial recognition in 1976.
The disease is caused by infection with Ebola virus, named after a river in the Democratic Republic of
the Congo (formerly Zaire) in Africa, where it was first recognized. The virus is one of two members
of a family of RNA viruses called the Filoviridae. Three of the four subtypes of Ebola virus identified
so far have caused disease in humans: Ebola Zaire, Ebola Sudan, and
Ebola Ivory Coast. The fourth, Ebola Reston, has caused disease in nonhuman primates, but not in
humans.
Where is Ebola virus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ebola HF typically appears in sporadic outbreaks, usually spread within a health care setting (a
situation known as amplification). It is likely that sporadic, isolated cases occur as well, but go
unrecognized.
How is Ebola virus spread?
Infection with Ebola virus in humans is incidental humans do not carry the virus. Because the natural
reservoir of the virus is unknown, the manner in which the virus first appears in a human at the start of
an outbreak has not been determined. However, researchers have hypothesized that the first patient
becomes infected through contact with an infected animal. After the first case patient in an outbreak
setting (often called the index case) is infected, the virus can be transmitted in several ways. People
can be exposed to Ebola virus from direct contact with the blood and/or secretions of an infected
person. This is why the virus has often been spread through the families and friends of infected
persons: in the course of feeding, holding, or otherwise caring for them, family members and friends
would come into close contact with such secretions. People can also be exposed to Ebola virus
through contact with objects, such as needles, that have been contaminated with

Native Americans and Peyote Use Essay
For better or worse, many societies of the modern world tolerate certain methods of self intoxication.
Despite the possibility of negative consequences, all the cultures of the world the consumption of
substances like alcohol and tobacco are sanctioned under particular circumstances. All societies face
the reality that significant proportions of mankind seek to the same time expressly criminalizing
others. This irony is made more bizarre by the evidence that a myriad of rich cultural timelines can
supply to demonstrate that there is reasonable historical precedence in existence to show the use of
alternative forms of drugs being cultivated and utilized.(McKenna) The concept of an individual

By contrast, if the same group had discovered and ingested some hallucinogenic mushrooms, they
would be compelled to confront and would surely have discussed and attempted to understand the
nature of their otherworldly mushroom induced encounters. Assuming that their neurochemistry was
not so different from ours today, those occurrences would have been well beyond the bounds of their
everyday experiences and vocabulary. They could easily have concluded that these plants were the
residences of divinities or other spiritual forces. (Nichols) Not soon after the first Europeans set foot
on American soil at the end of the fifteenth century, they began take note with varying degrees of
fascination and revulsion of a strange indigenous custom psychedelic plant ritual. They were later to
recognize this occurrence as an indispensable aspect of aboriginal religion and ritual in many parts of
the New World. Intoxication by certain plants were ascribed supernatural powers by indigenous
people. Hallucinations and the experience of Peyote are seen as not only a cosmic experience, but also

Managing Challenging Behaviors Within Classroom Management
Managing challenging behaviours in our classroom continues to be as one of the most challenging
problems in education today. Conte (1994, p.308) mentioned, If teachers, administrators, parents, and
students acknowledge that the lack of discipline is a serious concern and interferes with the teaching
learning process, one would think that steps would be taken to remedy the problem. Today s
classrooms are more complicated than in the past. Discipline is now known as classroom behaviour
management where new dimensions to classroom management are used with the inclusion, bilingual
classes, and students with disabilities.
Classroom management is necessary to maintain the positive behaviours and attitudes. A well
managed classroom can provide an amazing learning experience for all the involved students as their
behaviour can always affect this process. Classroom discipline plays a large part in today s educational
system. Many teachers feel powerless when dealing with discipline problems in their classrooms.
Canter (1997) discussed, in the past, only a look from a teacher to the students was enough to manage
and control the classroom. Then, because of the social and political eruptions of the late 60s and early
70s, the respect to any authority was dramatically declined. Therefore, it is important to find a
behaviour management approach that is suitable to the students of this generation.
My Philosophy as mentioned in part 1 is influenced by various behaviours theories.

Essay on Biography of Charles Manson
Charles Manson was the leader and founder of the cult the Manson Family or The Family, a group of
people well known for being serial killers in the late 1960 s. It was believed that they were associated
with cult quasi religious groups, that came about in the 1960 s and they are still here today. They
believe they know what the future of the planet is, when it will end, and how. In a biography of
Charles Manson and the Manson Family it said this, In August 1969 a series of Hollywood murders
were to shock the world and tarnish the 60 s free love and peace legacy. (Biography Channel 2013.)
Charles Manson himself never committed any murders with his own hands, but the murders were

Charles Maddox was born November 12, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio. His mother was Kathleen
Maddox, she was a prostitute and an alcoholic, and only 16 years old when she had him. She later
married William Manson, who adopted Charles giving him the Manson last name. It was said that his
mother once traded him for a pitcher of beer to a woman that couldn t have children. His uncle had to
go track down the women to get him back. Charles spent time in a boy s school then on the streets
doing petty crimes to survive. By 1952 Manson had spent more time in prison than he had out of
prison. In Charles Manson probation reports it described him as, suffering from a marked degree of
rejection, instability, psychic trauma, and constantly striving for status and securing some kind of love.
Other descriptions included dangerous, unpredictable, and safe only under supervision. (Biography
Channel 2013.) In August of 1969 Manson gathered his group of most loyal family members to do the
massacres. The first murder took place August 9, 1969 on Ceilo Drive in Beverly Hills at the home of
Roman Polanski s, and his wife Sharon Tate. The victims of this crime were Sharon Tate, Wojciech

Gavrilo Princip Research Paper
Gavrilo Princip was an extremely influential person in the history of the world. Princip was born on
July 25th, 1894 in Obljaj, Bosnia. He left his childhood home at the age of thirteen to go and live with
his older brother, Jovo. On October 5, 1908, Bosnia was annexed from the Austro Hungarian Empire.
Serbian nationalists believed this was unfair and took the Bosnian territory from them. This caused
secret societies to begin. One was called Narodna Odbrana, National Defense, and the other was
Ujedinjenje ili Smrt, which means Unification or Death , also known as The Black Hand (Gavrilo

Anti Semitism was going on before World War II, but the war enhanced the discrimination. Death
camps were slowly being built all across Poland and Germany in the early 1930 s leading up the war.
Nuremberg Laws were created in 1935 and the defined Jewish people by blood and called for an order
to separate Hitler s views of Aryans from non Aryans (Anti Semitism). Six million Jewish civilians
were killed. After the war, anti semitism continued all the up to modern day history. This is still a
problem the world is dealing with.Throughout history there have been many massacres and violent
riots against Jews (Anti Semitism). Most of the time, these acts are encouraged by government
personnel. The government has gotten so involved with anti semitism throughout Europe, and around
the entire world, that their have become political groups based on it. Towards the end of the 19th
century, Germany, Austria, and France all created political parties centered around anti semitism. The

Meaning Of All Men Created Equal According To The Founding...
Discussion: The meaning of all men created equal according to the Founding Fathers document is that
human beings are naturally equal; that means everybody including the slaves has the human right,
equality, and freedom to everything in the country. Concerning civil power and political balance,
every American has the same rights as everybody else. Unfortunately, some Americans have
occasionally denied other Americans of their lawful rights. For example, in the case of women or
Black Americans and their right to vote and to own property. The slaves and their freedom right

the Declaration of Independence, they still own slaves. Therefore,

Safe Night Out Aesop
Aesop has written a multitude of sticky stories The Boy Who Cried Wolf, The Tortoise and the Hare,
The Wolf in Sheep s Clothing just to name a few. In common, these tales are carefully encoded with
concrete imagery. From the many sticky works that Aesop wrote, the power of vivid and tangible
topics is demonstrated by the mere fact that Aesop s tales have been told for over 2,500 years and are
still prevalent today. The Nature Conservancy (TNC), for example, also capitalized concrete ideas in
order to help protect environmentally precious land by using perceptible words and ideas. Instead of
using directional language to describe an area, they named it Mount Hamilton Wilderness so that
people should definitively identify the location. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Likewise, the Velcro Theory of Memory claims that rather than storing memory like a filing cabinet,
like Velcro, remembering things is like the two sides pressing together as the brain hosts a multitude
of loops and hooks. Consider Jane Elliott s explanation of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.
to her third grade classroom. To make the abstract idea of racism concrete, she separated brown eyed
children from blue eyed children, proclaiming that the brown eyed children were superiors. After the
children experienced concrete racism, Elliott switched the roles of two groups and further
demonstrated the concreteness of racism. Altogether, in order for ideas to be sticky, they must be
concrete. As with Stone Yamashita s capitalization of concrete techniques to develop a partnership
with Disney, ideas must be concrete for novices and more complex for experts. Likewise, as with
Kaplan, ideas need to be realistic and fleshed out. In short, like General Mills and the Saddleback
Church s sticky ideas, people are attracted to concrete ideas they just stick better. Heath, C. Heath, D.

Advertising Cigarettes and Chewing Tobacco
Tobacco, tumor causing teeth staining smelly puking habit. Advertising has become a way of life. The
average American is exposed to 3,000 advertisements a day. These advertisements come from the
television, radio, news papers, billboard signs, and countless other ways. The advertisers use different
ways of attracting a consumer to buy their product. One of the strategies that the author will use is
called appeals, which uses ethos (ethics), pathos (feelings), and logos (logic). Some people believe it

The kids do not see before and after pictures of people who have smoked for years in the magazines or

people are the age twenty they have decided whether or not they are going to smoke or not. Kids see
attractive people in movies and commercials smoking, or cartoon animals smoking and they think it is
cool. If a product, like cigarettes, will make kids feel like they fit in, then they will do it even if the
product will hurt them. This kind of audience, the youth, is very vulnerable because they will do
anything to get accepted by people.

Real-Time Communication And Traditional Methods Of...
Real time communication and internet have changed the English language and its usage so online
literacy is becoming as essential for communication as traditional methods of communication used to
be. Teachers must now, not only understand the technology the students are using but how it can be
used to teach English in the 21st century. Today, technological literacy is demanded and expected, so
teachers must leverage on advancing their online literacy skills to remain relevant in the internet age.
Since real time communication and use of internet in teaching result in greater efficiencies, over time,
use of the internet has replaced traditional methods of teaching (Fairclough, 2014) bringing significant
transformations in teaching. The impact of this means that teachers must consistently update their
technological skills to enhance learning and better understand their students. With the increased need
for students to benefit from efficiencies derived from real time communication and internet, the
teaching landscape must evolve to fulfill such needs and adapt to the way the English language is now
being used. Other challenges both teachers and students face when teaching and learning in this
Digital Age is the necessity to learn the skills of the 4 C s (Pittaway, 2015). That is Critical thinking,
Communication, Collaboration and Creativity skills because teachers in the twenty first century have
an important responsibility to promote creativity and innovative methods of

Essay about Rocky Shore Investigation
Rocky Shore Investigation
Null Hypothesis:
There is no pattern to the distribution of organisms over a rocky shore.
Variables:
Factors that affect the distribution of organisms over an area of shoreline are:
· The depth of water which may cover an organism at high tide.
· How resistant an organism in the littoral zone is to dessication.
· How efficiently an organism can conserve water.
· The proximity and availability of nutrition.
Stations ========
I think that stations 1 4 are in the sub littoral zone of the rocky shore.
Stations 5 12 are in the mid littoral zone.
Stations 13 15 are in the splash zone.

Also they may not inhabit zones 13, 14 and 15 because there is nothing for them to feed on there.
Limpets were most common in stations 9 12, therefore we can deduce that the predominate seaweeds
here are what they mainly feed on. The species of seaweeds in these stations were mainly Fucus
vesiculosus, Ceramium and Lithothamnion. My research tells me that juvenile limpets are brought up
in the Lithothamnion, therefore we can presume that this is where they like to graze. Out of
Lithothamnion, Fucus vesiculosus and Ceramium the limpet population follows Lithothamnion
availability the best. Also, the limpets are perhaps the most well adapted of all the marine snails for a
life on the exposed rock surfaces. Each limpet has its own home an exact spot on the rock where it
stays when the tide is out. On soft rock, the limpet grinds it with its shell to make an exact fit; on hard
rock, the shell is ground down to fit the rock s shape. This tight fit allows the limpet to trap a spoonful
of water inside to stop it drying up. A strong foot muscle gets a firm grip on the rock, making it
difficult for birds to prise off the limpet.
The periwinkles (Melarhaphe neritoides) on the shore are much more spaced out and were found in
every quadrat bar one. They were also in abundance in the mid littoral zone in quadrat 9 with a

Essay about Theory and Client System Assessment
For this client system assessment, I have chosen a client I engaged with while at work, my client s
name is Keith. Keith is 34 years old and has had many unfortunate circumstances surrounding his life,
beginning with his birth. Keith s family system consists of himself, his mother and two step siblings.
Keith was unfortunately the product of a rape, witnessed repeated domestic abuse situations with his
mother s boyfriends and husbands, was abused himself and to this day, Keith continues to suffer in all
domains: emotionally, mentally and physically. I will assess Keith s family system as well as Keith as

Keith s mother grew up poor and without much appropriate parental guidance, she was abused
growing up and witnessed domestic violence in her home. Keith s mother was uneducated as
education was not valued in her home and always held menial, low paying jobs. Once Keith was born,
his mother was unable to provide the adequate basic necessities for herself and Keith. Feeling
overwhelmed and burdened by her decision, Keith was pushed aside as his mother chose a path of
substance abuse and a variety of unsavory men.
Howe (2010) states The majority of parents who maltreat their children have problems metalizing
their children s psychological condition. Their own histories tend to be ones of rejection, abuse,
neglect, trauma and loss. Never having been fully recognized as an independent, complex
psychological being themselves, they have problems relating to their children as complex, separate
psychological beings (pg. 336). Unfortunately during this stage of development, Keith was not given
the appropriate amount of love, affection, care and maternal bonding time, which his mother was
emotionally unable to provide due to her traumatized state. Keith states his mother did not seek
professional help after being raped and was forced to deal with it all on her own; she constantly sought
approval from abusive men, likely repeating the cycle from her childhood, but was not bonded with
Keith as a

The Tropical Rainforest Biome In Tropical Rainforests
The tropical rainforest biome is an ecosystem covering around 6% of the Earth s surface and being a
home to over 50% of the plant and animal species. These environments are hot and humid all year
round, with the average amount of rainfall being 250cm per year. The temperatures in a rain forest
minimum tends to be around 20OC with the temperature not rising above 34OC regularly. Tropical
rainforests are found spanning from both sides of the equator between the tropic of Cancer and the
tropic of Capricorn meaning rainforests are in Central and South America, Southeast Asia, Africa and
Australia.
Deforestation has been a major concern in tropical rainforests, this is an act of destructing a forest for
multiple reasons including wood supply, agriculture purposes or the extraction of minerals and energy.
Forest loss till date is 18.03 million acres per year and it has been estimated that within 100 years all
rainforests will be destroyed.

His effectiveness rests on the fact that he has developed the practical essence of Marxism to a pitch of
clarity and concreteness never before achieved. He has rescued this aspect of Marxism from an almost
total oblivion and by virtue of this theoretical action he has once again placed in our hands the key to a
right understanding of Marxist method. For it is our task and this is the fundamental conviction
underlying this book to understand the essence of Marx s method and to apply it correctly. In no sense
do we aspire to improve on it. If on a number of occasions certain statements of Engels are made the
object of a polemical attack this has been done, as every perceptive reader will observe, in the spirit of
the system as a whole. On these particular points the author believes, rightly or wrongly, that he is
defending orthodox Marxism against Engels himself. We adhere to Marx s doctrines, then, without
making any attempt to diverge from them, to improve or correct them. The goal of these arguments is
an interpretation, an exposition of Marx s theory as Marx understood it. But this orthodoxy does not in

Biography of Winston Churchill
The year was 1940; the world s second great World War was in full swing, with Britain and Germany
at the forefront. The fall of Britain s closest ally, France, stunned the British Empire and threw it into
disarray. Through the chaos, Winston Churchill emerged. Churchill would be an inspiring leader who
was able to rally the entire nation in times of hardship. Through his leadership, the British Bulldog
would face the Axis powers and come out victorious, as well as become a public hero for the British
people. Yet, immediately after the war, Churchill did not return to the prime minister seat because of a
shocking defeat in his re election, despite his immense reputation he gained from the war. Though
lauded by the British population for his prowess as a wartime leader, Churchill s conservative politics
were out of touch with a population ready for post war relief and led to his defeat in the 1945 election.
Churchill got his conservative politics from being raised in the Victorian era Britain, where he learned
to be ambitious, and have a strong sense of independence (Ben Moshe 8). This unrelenting ambition
Churchill obtained would earn him his reputation, and lead to his loss in the 1945 election. Churchill
practiced conservative politics, because he lived in an era when Conservatives ruled parliament
(Havighurst 63). At the turn of the century, however, conservative practices would soon become
outdated. It was with the emergence of the Liberal Party, that public opinion

The Quality Of A Hotel Restaurant
1. Goals/Objectives for the negotiation
The main objective of this negotiation is to protect the reputation of the Statler Hotel, often the quality
of a Hotel s restaurant is judged by the quality of the coffee served, we need to successfully go
through the negotiation to increase the perceived quality of the Hotel.
In order to be able to serve a quality coffee, we need to get a good price per pound, the Hotel is
currently under close scrutiny of its costs and even though we re really interested on Anderson s
coffee, we can t pay any price, we need a competitive price (at least under $7.40 per pound) to justify
the higher expense.
Other objectives include getting deliveries at least every two weeks, secure the price for a specific
time and negotiate the quantity we would order and the repair on the coffee machines.
I am also very interested in impressing my boss, I ve been in this position for only 6 months. I believe
that if I can get Anderson to sell us the coffee at a price that would allow us to remain cost effective,
he will be very pleased and impressed with my performance, as I will have helped improve the quality
of the Hotel, which is his main interest in this negotiation.
Finally, my goal was to get a good bonus, I have been offer $50 for every penny I save the Hotel, so I
have a money incentive that will allow me to get more personally involved in the negotiation, as I
have a personal incentive to get the price as low as I can get it.

one in Folsom was on December 13th 1895. In the 1937 s the legislature decided that instead of
hanging people they were going to use lethal gas. This did not affect the people that were already
sentenced to be hanged and the last hanging was in December 3rd 1937 at Folsom and the last hanging
in Quentin was hold on May 1st 1942. Twenty five years after 1967 because of the United States
Supreme Court choices there were no executions. In 1962 the Supreme Court thought that death
penalty as cruel and unusual punishment. Because of this 107 people had their sentences changed to
something that was not death. In November 1972 nine months after they had this choice the California
electorate amended the state constitution overruled it. Then in 1973 the Supreme Court decided that
the death penalty was unconstitutional. The California legislation was passed in 1973, which meant
that the death penalty could only happen under certain conditions. These conditions were kidnapping

Efficacy Of Telemedicine Essay
In 2010 a study was completed in the state of California in order to evaluate the efficacy of
telemedicine to reduce barriers to healthcare in rural populations (Ritter, L., Robinette, T., Cofano, J.,
2010). The assessment was made in 33 counties throughout California and was accomplished through
patient satisfaction survey. The ultimate result of the survey was that telemedicine can improve access
to care for people in rural settings, along with those who live in situations that make it difficult to
access care.
Ritter, Robinette, Cofano (2010), refer to the California Telehealth and eHealth Center s definition for

(2008), has shown that CCTM is a viable approach to chronic disease management. They included a
large volume of patients over a number of years and proved that the program is viable in all kinds of
demographic settings from urban, to super rural. This particular review further agrees with other
studies relating to customer satisfaction using telemedicine. This seems universal across studies. The
area where this particular evaluation differs from the others is the proof that it does reduce
consumption of care, and reduces cost of care. This review validates this in a significant manner. The
VHA appears to have developed a solid program model for delivering CCTM to its customer base, and
the customer base seems to like it. This case report supports the capstone project question by
validating the efficacy of case management via telemedicine. As illustrated by the patient enrolled in
the CP program there is a desire to participate in her care. However, she is physically unable to do so
because of a lack of transportation. CCTM would enable this patient to manage her chronic diseases
while being engaged with her primary care team so that her experience of care would improve, while
simultaneously reducing her per capita cost of care as she would no longer have to rely on emergency
services to provide her

Why Should Not Be Placed On The World Heritage
The World Heritage Committee decides whether a site should or should not be placed on the World
Heritage list, designated, or postponed. The decision is based upon guidance from the Advisory
Bodies. The committee then approves a Statement of Outstanding Universal Value for the site. This
statement consists of their resolution that the site has Outstanding Universal Value. The declaration is
also the foundation for any management and fortification the site may need in the future. If the site is
not to be inscribed onto the World Heritage List, the only way redetermination may take place is under

Any information that is needed by the Advisory Bodies must be requested by January 31 (year 2).
Evaluations and recommendations from the Advisory Bodies will be received by the Secretariat six
weeks before the World Heritage Committee meets (year 2). The Secretariat then will transfer the
information to the state party, and the World Heritage Committee. Fourteen days before the World
Heritage Committee meets the state party needs to send any errors in the Advisory Bodies
recommendations or evaluations. The World Heritage Committee s annual session takes place in either
June or July (year 2). Immediately following this session, either the site is inscribed, referred, or
deferred (World Heritage Center, 2013:43 45). Just as a site can be inscribed on the World Heritage
List, a site can be removed. The process for deletion from the list can include loss of attributes that
enabled the site onto the list, if these features are threatened, or if measures by the state party have not
happened. The World Heritage Committee will explore all information as to the deterioration of a site.
A vote requires two thirds of the members to agree to delete a location from the World Heritage List.
The committee then notifies the public, and publication of this modification will take place (World
Heritage Center, 2013:53 54). Germany s Dresden Elbe Valley and the Arabian Oryx Sanctuary in
Oman have both been removed from the World Heritage List

Ischemic Stroke Case Study
Multiple Thresholds for Different Components of the Brain in Ischemic Stroke Perfusion Imaging
Introduction
Stroke
Stroke is a disease of national and global significance in prevalence, impact and cost [1 4].?Stroke is
the third leading cause of death and leading cause adult disability in Australia [3]. Furthermore, the
number of stroke sufferers is expected to increase in the future as the Australian population ages[5].
Stroke can be categorized into ischemic and hemorrhagic subtypes as each has a different mechanism
and long term outcome. Ischemic stroke makes up 87% of all strokes and is caused by an occluded
cerebral blood vessel causing hypoperfusion to areas upstream of the occlusion that result in tissue
damage and dysfunction. Of all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mixed common threshold for grey matter and white matter overestimate the perfusion lesion in white
matter, but underestimate the tissue in white matter [71, 89, 90](summary of the threshold for grey
matter and white matter separately from previous studies in figure 7). The variation of absolute
perfusion values is highly individual. Furthermore, the variation of the absolute threshold is high
between these studies (CBV range from1.67 to 2.4 6 ml/100g in grey matter, with a range of 1.19 to
1.7 6 ml/100g in white matter; CBF range from 17.7 34.6 ml/100g/min in grey matter, and a range of
12.3 to 20.9 ml/100g/min in white matter). Relative thresholds are able to delineate perfusion lesion
better than absolute thresholds, due to relative thresholds are more consistent comparing to absolute
thresholds, whereas, absolute thresholds varies individually, as previous research has been
demonstrated [55, 56, 92]. However, these results lack of standardization and validation to define the
optimal thresholds for grey matter and white matter separately. All of these previous studies had a
limited number of patients, ranging from 9 to 21. It is clear, no agreement on multiple optimal
thresholds setting to delineate acute tissue pathophysiology in grey matter and white matter separately

Analysis Of Countee Cullen s Yet Do I Marvel
After World War 1, The Harlem Renaissance was the name given to the social, culture, and artistic
explosion that took place in Harlem New York, around the 1920 s to mid 1930 s. The first poet I chose
from the Harlem Renaissance was the American poet, Countee Cullen. Countee was a very influential
Poet who voiced his beliefs and thoughts regarding racial and civil rights through his art in poetry. The
work, Yet Do I Marvel, takes racial themes, such as the killing of black youth through Lynching for a
crime he did not commit. The poem is dark and makes reference to Sisyphus and speaks of how life is
a constant struggle. In the Poem he speaks to God wondering why, knowing that God is supreme but

Earlier in the year of 1926, Freda Kirchwey, editor of the Nation , mailed Hughes a proof of The

the editor of the African American newspaper The Pittsburg Courier , questioned in his essay the need

absorb white culture, Hughes essay spoke to the concerns of the Harlem Renaissance as it celebrated
African American creative innovations such as jazz, spirituals, and literary work of the African
American life. Hughes, saw this issue at hand to be the challenge African Americans Art in America.

Compare And Contrast The Mexian Revolution And French...
A revolution is a rebellion of the government with force in favor of a new and better form of
government. During the French Revolution, King Louis XVI and his wife, Queen Antoinette, were
heavily indebted from spending their money recklessly, which led to high taxes for peasants. In result,
the peasants overthrew King Louis XVI from his position. During the Mexican Revolution, Porfirio
Diaz became a dictator that limited one s freedom and the imbalance of social classes. Likewise, the
leaders removed Porfirio from his position, but it created a bigger problem. People started
backstabbing each other to take over the leadership of Mexico. The French Revolution was similar to
the Mexican Revolution because both nations went through harsh conditions to establish a better
government, both of their governments abused their power, and both achieved human rights in many
ways.
The Mexican Revolution was similar from the French Revolution because they both went through a
phase of peasants in poverty and being treated harshly, wanting a change. According to an excerpt by
Francisco Madero in November 20, 1910, it states, The oppressive government has gotten bad. We
cannot accept it anymore... I need to put myself in front of my fellow citizens. People have placed
their confidence in me. (Doc. 1) This evidence shows that both revolutions started because of the
unfair laws in the nation placed by the government. They wanted to revolt because they wished for a
nation with freedom and rights. This evidence proved that both revolutions had the willpower to fight
back for what they want. The French Revolution was at war in their nation, where many men and
women fought for their own individual rights and not depending on other to fight for them.
Additionally, in a excerpt by John Reed in June 1914, it states, They are fighting because they want
something that they can get no other way. The peasants are sick of war. They do not enjoy starvation,
thirst, cold, nakedness, and wounds. This has been happening for 3 years. (Doc. 2) This quote
demonstrates that peasants fought for freedom, and they were sick of being poor. They wanted a
positive change in their life that would benefit them by revolting the government. This quotes

Why Hunting Should Be Made Illegal
Hunting has always been a fundamental aspect of life throughout human s history. Thus, it s widely
accepted that hunting animals for food and other similar purposes is normal. However, there has been
lots of debate involving the legality of hunting animals for trophies. This essay argues that trophy
hunting should be made illegal. It will show two major reasons supporting this main conclusion,
involving the negative impacts of trophies hunting on the biological diversity and evolution. It will
then examine one main objection relating to the benefits of the activity for animal conservation, but
will rebut this objection.
The first reason to consider why trophies hunting should be made illegal is that trophies can lead to
the extinctions of numerous species, and these mass extinctions are believed to affect the biological
diversity tremendously. There are two ways trophy hunting can lead to rapid extinctions of various
animals. Firstly, trophy hunters tend to hunt endangered species, which are already at risk of
extinction according to their definition. This is due to hunting valuable targets may reward trophy lots
of money, and recent studies have shown that endangered species are often seen as high value targets
no matter the cause of their rarity (Palazy et al. 2011). For instance, one single bighorn sheep was sold
for at least 400,000 US dollars during a private auction (Palazy et al. 2011). Secondly, trophy hunting
can mess up the population structures of several species

Switching Technology For A Network
Switching Technology
Cassandra Anton
Bellevue University Abstract
Switching is a technology that has been used since the first communication networks were invented.
In order to understand switching, we must first discuss switches. A switch is a device that connects
other devices on a network. Switches can also prevent bad packets from spreading by not forwarding
them on. While switches can be helpful to a network they should not be seen as an instant fix for
network issues. There are many benefits to using network switching in a network. A switch can break
one large network into smaller networks so that the distance limitations are restarted. By creating the
smaller networks traffic is isolated, reducing collisions. It can ... Show more content on

In a full switched network, hubs are not used. Instead, switches are used with a dedicated segment for
every node. In this type of network the switch picks up every transmission before it reaches another
node. Since any segment only reaches a single node, the frame only reaches the intended recipient.
This allows many conversations to happen at the same time. Switching also allows a network to
maintain full duplex Ethernet, which allows information to travel from node to switch and switch to
node at the same time. Most networks do not exclusively use switches because of the costs involved
with replacing all hubs. A combination of switches and hubs are typically used to create an efficient
and less costly network (Tyson 2001).
When switching on layer 2, there are three important functions that a network administrator should
remember. The first, address learning, is when layer 2 switches retain the source hardware address and
port interface it was received on. It is then entered into a MAC database called a forward/filter table.
The second, forward/filter decisions, is when a switch looks at the destination hardware address and
finds the interface it is on in the filter table. It then chooses the correct exit interface for it in the MAC
database. Finally, loop avoidance. When redundancy creates multiple connections network loops

The Statement Of Teaching Philosophy
My Philosophy
Introduction
The statement of teaching philosophy (also called the teaching statement or teaching philosophy
statement) promotes reflective practice by encouraging instructors to describe their teaching methods,
to justify why they use those methods, to analyze the effectiveness of those methods, and to consider
how they might appropriately modify those methods in future courses. (Schönwetter et al., 2002)
Stake holder motivation, engagement, cognitive associations, and personal values are the principal

For example, many first drafts include general statements about learning goals as well as teaching
practices. (Kearns Sullivan, 2011) Teachers are encouraged to systematically change declarative
statements about their passion for teaching moments in the classroom that speak of learning goals and
personal qualities. It is through reflection of experiences that teachers can build personal expectations
of themselves.
Review of the Literature Within a framework of teaching, educators focus on the nature of knowledge
and how students gain that knowledge. There are five established, major educational philosophies.
They are behaviorism, essentialism, progressivism, existentialism and perennialism. These
philosophies greatly focus on what should be taught. Behavioral learning theories are simply
explained as reinforcing behaviors one would like to see repeated. Slavin states, Reinforcement will
increase the frequency of a behavior with positive or negative consequences. (2012, p. 120) The
student environment impacts student decisions and learning. Positive reinforcement is the application
of a stimulus. Negative reinforcement is the application of a punishment. The role of teachers in
behavioral learning theories is to provide immediate and concise feedback of behaviors. Teachers
should provide tasks with small,

The Issue Of Abortion Laws
Denise Magana
ENG 102
Professor Brussin
2 October 2014
Abortion Laws are Unconstitutional The issue of abortion has always been rising throughout the years.
Is it power to the fetus or to the women? The famous Roe v. Wade trial, which was supposed to settle
the idea and was a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court that was supposed to decide
the issue of abortion. It was ruled in 1973, that the right to privacy under the due process clause of the
14th Amendment, extended to a woman s decision to have an abortion, but that the right to privacy
must be balanced between the woman s and the state s interests in regulating abortions: which is to
protect prenatal life and protecting the woman s health. Roe v. Wade reshaped the nation s politics and
divided the country into pro choice and pro life sides, while at the same time, it also created hostile
states toward abortion clinics and creates the challenge of getting an abortion more difficult. Everyone
has an opinion on abortion, whether or not they want to voice it. Some people think it s immoral to kill
a fetus, something that could potentially gestate into a living, human being. Some people think that it
is entirely up to the woman. And others think that it s none of their business. Ever since Roe v. Wade,
many states have been trying to create a more difficult aversions to abortions in many ways. Some
states tried to make it harder by payment, such as restricting certain insurance payments. Other states

With no one willing to hear his case, Castro then would realized that his legal arguments would not be

through other means, even force if necessary as exemplified by the uprisings in the Caribbean. His
alternate approach to achieving his goal was to organize a group of underground rebels who would aid
him in his fight against the oppressive rule of Batista. Castro began to draw followers to his cause
through his personality, which compelled many people to join him in his fight against Batista. This
gathering of followers would culminate with the 26th of July Movement, which in Cuba is called
Movimiento 26 de Julio, which is used to commemorate the beginnings of the Cuban Revolution
which was led by Fidel Castro. The Cuban Revolution s conclusion would result in the overthrowing
of the dictatorship of Batista, but the movement itself began with a failure. On July 26th, 1953, Fidel
Castro led an attack against Fulgencio Batista in the Moncada Barracks. Castro, his brother Raul and a

Second Language Acquisition
Recent phonetic work on second language (L2) acquisition has focused on the influence of the native
language (L1) on L2 learning by providing phonetic interpretations of non native production and
perception. Researchers have suggested that the weight of a feature used in L2, but not in L1, may
create difficulties for L2 learners. A classic example of this problem is the difficulty that Japanese
listeners experience in distinguishing English /r/ and /l/ phonemes, which are both mapped to the
Japanese /l/ (McClelland et al., 1999). Several studies have also investigated whether native speakers
of a tone language have an advantage over natisve speakers of a non tone language in discriminating
or acquiring tones from a tone language with which they have no prior experience. For example,
Gottfried and Suiter (1997) found that adult native English speakers were less successful in learning
lexical tones to signal phonological contrast, as this feature is not used in English, than they were in
learning vowel quality in Mandarin. Also, Chinese speakers outperformed English speakers in their
ability to distinguish two Thai tones both before and after training (Wayland Guion, 2004). In
addition, Peng et al. (2010) investigated the influence of different tone inventories (Mandarin vs.
Cantonese) as well as tone language vs. non tone language experience (German vs. Chinese) on the
categorical perception of pitch contours in Mandarin syllables and non speech contexts (e.g., pure
tone).

  • 2. Essay about Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever Ebola hemorrhagic fever (Ebola HF) is a severe, often fatal disease in humans and nonhuman primates (monkeys and chimpanzees) that has appeared sporadically since its initial recognition in 1976. The disease is caused by infection with Ebola virus, named after a river in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire) in Africa, where it was first recognized. The virus is one of two members of a family of RNA viruses called the Filoviridae. Three of the four subtypes of Ebola virus identified so far have caused disease in humans: Ebola Zaire, Ebola Sudan, and Ebola Ivory Coast. The fourth, Ebola Reston, has caused disease in nonhuman primates, but not in humans. Where is Ebola virus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ebola HF typically appears in sporadic outbreaks, usually spread within a health care setting (a situation known as amplification). It is likely that sporadic, isolated cases occur as well, but go unrecognized. How is Ebola virus spread? Infection with Ebola virus in humans is incidental humans do not carry the virus. Because the natural reservoir of the virus is unknown, the manner in which the virus first appears in a human at the start of an outbreak has not been determined. However, researchers have hypothesized that the first patient becomes infected through contact with an infected animal. After the first case patient in an outbreak setting (often called the index case) is infected, the virus can be transmitted in several ways. People can be exposed to Ebola virus from direct contact with the blood and/or secretions of an infected person. This is why the virus has often been spread through the families and friends of infected persons: in the course of feeding, holding, or otherwise caring for them, family members and friends would come into close contact with such secretions. People can also be exposed to Ebola virus through contact with objects, such as needles, that have been contaminated with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Despite the possibility of negative consequences, all the cultures of the world the consumption of substances like alcohol and tobacco are sanctioned under particular circumstances. All societies face the reality that significant proportions of mankind seek to the same time expressly criminalizing others. This irony is made more bizarre by the evidence that a myriad of rich cultural timelines can supply to demonstrate that there is reasonable historical precedence in existence to show the use of alternative forms of drugs being cultivated and utilized.(McKenna) The concept of an individual person deliberately changing their perception ... By contrast, if the same group had discovered and ingested some hallucinogenic mushrooms, they would be compelled to confront and would surely have discussed and attempted to understand the nature of their otherworldly mushroom induced encounters. Assuming that their neurochemistry was not so different from ours today, those occurrences would have been well beyond the bounds of their everyday experiences and vocabulary. They could easily have concluded that these plants were the residences of divinities or other spiritual forces. • 4. Managing Challenging Behaviors Within Classroom Management Managing challenging behaviours in our classroom continues to be as one of the most challenging problems in education today. Conte (1994, p.308) mentioned, If teachers, administrators, parents, and students acknowledge that the lack of discipline is a serious concern and interferes with the teaching learning process, one would think that steps would be taken to remedy the problem. Today s classrooms are more complicated than in the past. Discipline is now known as classroom behaviour management where new dimensions to classroom management are used with the inclusion, bilingual classes, and students with disabilities. Classroom management is necessary to maintain the positive behaviours and attitudes. A well managed classroom can provide an amazing learning experience for all the involved students as their behaviour can always affect this process. Classroom discipline plays a large part in today s educational system. Many teachers feel powerless when dealing with discipline problems in their classrooms. Canter (1997) discussed, in the past, only a look from a teacher to the students was enough to manage and control the classroom. Then, because of the social and political eruptions of the late 60s and early 70s, the respect to any authority was dramatically declined. Therefore, it is important to find a behaviour management approach that is suitable to the students of this generation. Likewise, the Velcro Theory of Memory claims that rather than storing memory like a filing cabinet, like Velcro, remembering things is like the two sides pressing together as the brain hosts a multitude of loops and hooks. Consider Jane Elliott s explanation of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. to her third grade classroom. To make the abstract idea of racism concrete, she separated brown eyed children from blue eyed children, proclaiming that the brown eyed children were superiors. After the children experienced concrete racism, Elliott switched the roles of two groups and further demonstrated the concreteness of racism. Altogether, in order for ideas to be sticky, they must be concrete. Real time communication and internet have changed the English language and its usage so online literacy is becoming as essential for communication as traditional methods of communication used to be. Teachers must now, not only understand the technology the students are using but how it can be used to teach English in the 21st century. Today, technological literacy is demanded and expected, so teachers must leverage on advancing their online literacy skills to remain relevant in the internet age. Since real time communication and use of internet in teaching result in greater efficiencies, over time, use of the internet has replaced traditional methods of teaching (Fairclough, 2014) bringing significant transformations in teaching. The impact of this means that teachers must consistently update their technological skills to enhance learning and better understand their students. With the increased need for students to benefit from efficiencies derived from real time communication and internet, the teaching landscape must evolve to fulfill such needs and adapt to the way the English language is now being used. Other challenges both teachers and students face when teaching and learning in this Digital Age is the necessity to learn the skills of the 4 C s (Pittaway, 2015). That is Critical thinking, Communication, Collaboration and Creativity skills because teachers in the twenty first century have an important responsibility to promote creativity and innovative methods of ... The species of seaweeds in these stations were mainly Fucus vesiculosus, Ceramium and Lithothamnion. My research tells me that juvenile limpets are brought up in the Lithothamnion, therefore we can presume that this is where they like to graze. Out of Lithothamnion, Fucus vesiculosus and Ceramium the limpet population follows Lithothamnion availability the best. Also, the limpets are perhaps the most well adapted of all the marine snails for a life on the exposed rock surfaces. Each limpet has its own home an exact spot on the rock where it stays when the tide is out. On soft rock, the limpet grinds it with its shell to make an exact fit; on hard rock, the shell is ground down to fit the rock s shape. This tight fit allows the limpet to trap a spoonful of water inside to stop it drying up. A strong foot muscle gets a firm grip on the rock, making it difficult for birds to prise off the limpet.

  • 26. Compare And Contrast The Mexian Revolution And French... A revolution is a rebellion of the government with force in favor of a new and better form of government. During the French Revolution, King Louis XVI and his wife, Queen Antoinette, were heavily indebted from spending their money recklessly, which led to high taxes for peasants. In result, the peasants overthrew King Louis XVI from his position. During the Mexican Revolution, Porfirio Diaz became a dictator that limited one s freedom and the imbalance of social classes. Likewise, the leaders removed Porfirio from his position, but it created a bigger problem. People started backstabbing each other to take over the leadership of Mexico. The French Revolution was similar to the Mexican Revolution because both nations went through harsh conditions to establish a better government, both of their governments abused their power, and both achieved human rights in many ways. The Mexican Revolution was similar from the French Revolution because they both went through a phase of peasants in poverty and being treated harshly, wanting a change. According to an excerpt by Francisco Madero in November 20, 1910, it states, The oppressive government has gotten bad. We cannot accept it anymore... I need to put myself in front of my fellow citizens. People have placed their confidence in me. • 27. Why Hunting Should Be Made Illegal Hunting has always been a fundamental aspect of life throughout human s history. Thus, it s widely accepted that hunting animals for food and other similar purposes is normal. However, there has been lots of debate involving the legality of hunting animals for trophies. This essay argues that trophy hunting should be made illegal. It will show two major reasons supporting this main conclusion, involving the negative impacts of trophies hunting on the biological diversity and evolution. It will then examine one main objection relating to the benefits of the activity for animal conservation, but will rebut this objection. The first reason to consider why trophies hunting should be made illegal is that trophies can lead to the extinctions of numerous species, and these mass extinctions are believed to affect the biological diversity tremendously. There are two ways trophy hunting can lead to rapid extinctions of various animals. Firstly, trophy hunters tend to hunt endangered species, which are already at risk of extinction according to their definition. This is due to hunting valuable targets may reward trophy lots of money, and recent studies have shown that endangered species are often seen as high value targets no matter the cause of their rarity (Palazy et al. 2011). For instance, one single bighorn sheep was sold for at least 400,000 US dollars during a private auction (Palazy et al. 2011). • 28. Switching Technology For A Network Switching Technology Cassandra Anton Bellevue University Abstract Switching is a technology that has been used since the first communication networks were invented. In order to understand switching, we must first discuss switches. A switch is a device that connects other devices on a network. Switches can also prevent bad packets from spreading by not forwarding them on. While switches can be helpful to a network they should not be seen as an instant fix for network issues. There are many benefits to using network switching in a network. A switch can break one large network into smaller networks so that the distance limitations are restarted. By creating the smaller networks traffic is isolated, reducing collisions. It can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a full switched network, hubs are not used. Instead, switches are used with a dedicated segment for every node. In this type of network the switch picks up every transmission before it reaches another node. Since any segment only reaches a single node, the frame only reaches the intended recipient. This allows many conversations to happen at the same time. Switching also allows a network to maintain full duplex Ethernet, which allows information to travel from node to switch and switch to node at the same time. Most networks do not exclusively use switches because of the costs involved with replacing all hubs. A combination of switches and hubs are typically used to create an efficient and less costly network (Tyson 2001). When switching on layer 2, there are three important functions that a network administrator should remember. The first, address learning, is when layer 2 switches retain the source hardware address and port interface it was received on. It is then entered into a MAC database called a forward/filter table. The second, forward/filter decisions, is when a switch looks at the destination hardware address and finds the interface it is on in the filter table. It then chooses the correct exit interface for it in the MAC database. Finally, loop avoidance. When redundancy creates multiple connections network loops ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Statement Of Teaching Philosophy My Philosophy Introduction The statement of teaching philosophy (also called the teaching statement or teaching philosophy statement) promotes reflective practice by encouraging instructors to describe their teaching methods, to justify why they use those methods, to analyze the effectiveness of those methods, and to consider how they might appropriately modify those methods in future courses. (Schönwetter et al., 2002) Stake holder motivation, engagement, cognitive associations, and personal values are the principal elements of education. (Kearns Sullivan, 2011) Teachers are encouraged to systematically change declarative statements about their passion for teaching moments in the classroom that speak of learning goals and personal qualities. It is through reflection of experiences that teachers can build personal expectations of themselves. Review of the Literature Within a framework of teaching, educators focus on the nature of knowledge and how students gain that knowledge. There are five established, major educational philosophies. They are behaviorism, essentialism, progressivism, existentialism and perennialism. These philosophies greatly focus on what should be taught. Behavioral learning theories are simply explained as reinforcing behaviors one would like to see repeated. Slavin states, Reinforcement will increase the frequency of a behavior with positive or negative consequences. (2012, p. 120) The student environment impacts student decisions and learning. Positive reinforcement is the application of a stimulus. Negative reinforcement is the application of a punishment. The role of teachers in behavioral learning theories is to provide immediate and concise feedback of behaviors. Teachers should provide tasks with small, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Is it power to the fetus or to the women? The famous Roe v. Wade trial, which was supposed to settle the idea and was a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court that was supposed to decide the issue of abortion. It was ruled in 1973, that the right to privacy under the due process clause of the 14th Amendment, extended to a woman s decision to have an abortion, but that the right to privacy must be balanced between the woman s and the state s interests in regulating abortions: which is to protect prenatal life and protecting the woman s health. Castro needed to achieve his goal through other means, even force if necessary as exemplified by the uprisings in the Caribbean. His alternate approach to achieving his goal was to organize a group of underground rebels who would aid him in his fight against the oppressive rule of Batista. Castro began to draw followers to his cause through his personality, which compelled many people to join him in his fight against Batista. This gathering of followers would culminate with the 26th of July Movement, which in Cuba is called Movimiento 26 de Julio, which is used to commemorate the beginnings of the Cuban Revolution which was led by Fidel Castro. • 38. Second Language Acquisition Recent phonetic work on second language (L2) acquisition has focused on the influence of the native language (L1) on L2 learning by providing phonetic interpretations of non native production and perception. Researchers have suggested that the weight of a feature used in L2, but not in L1, may create difficulties for L2 learners. A classic example of this problem is the difficulty that Japanese listeners experience in distinguishing English /r/ and /l/ phonemes, which are both mapped to the Japanese /l/ (McClelland et al., 1999). Several studies have also investigated whether native speakers of a tone language have an advantage over natisve speakers of a non tone language in discriminating or acquiring tones from a tone language with which they have no prior experience. For example, Gottfried and Suiter (1997) found that adult native English speakers were less successful in learning lexical tones to signal phonological contrast, as this feature is not used in English, than they were in learning vowel quality in Mandarin. Also, Chinese speakers outperformed English speakers in their ability to distinguish two Thai tones both before and after training (Wayland Guion, 2004). In addition, Peng et al. (2010) investigated the influence of different tone inventories (Mandarin vs. Cantonese) as well as tone language vs. non tone language experience (German vs. Chinese) on the categorical perception of pitch contours in Mandarin syllables and non speech contexts (e.g., pure tone). ...
