Narrative Essay On The Homeless
The Final Goodbye It was a cold October evening and he ran wildly around the arena. Everyone
knew it was going to be their last time with him. As he whizzed around the arena he would
always stay on the rail as if someone was riding him. Otis was a barn horse who had developed a
disease which caused him to go blind in both of his eyes. The barn thought it was in Otis s best
interests that he be put down. Otis had a good life at the barn. Being rode everyday, being able
to go to pasture and most importantly he would always get attention from the little kids and from
the older kids. He loved it when he was able to go outside and eat the yummy grass in his large
beautiful pasture. Every day when I went out to the barn I would always go down... Show more

When I arrived at the barn it was a cool October evening. When I walked into the barn I went
straight to my friend Leah to give her a huge warm hug because we were texting earlier saying
that we would give each other so many hugs when we saw each other. Then we all went into the
arena and Nicole let Oti run and run. Black Bullet ran wildly with the wind catching his mane as
he ran. While the black bullet ran everyone had their phones out and recording and getting
pictures of Oti. After Otis ran wildly we took him to the crossties to get pictures and gave him a ton
of treats. At the end of the goodbye, we all got together for one big group hug. Before I had to leave
my heart just sank because I wasn t able to spend very long with him. Before I left I went over to

University Art Museum
The University Art Museum Case Analysis
Suzana Duran MNGT 372
Professor Quimei Xu
I. Relevant Facts/Background
The Art Museum is a building on the university premises that is providing a place for the art
collection of a university. The building was given to the university by an alumnus around 1929. The
wealthy son of the university s first president served as the museum s unpaid director until his
death. He brought a few extra collections to the museum during his service, and while serving as
unpaid director, none of the collections was ever shown to anybody except a few members of the
university s art history faculty. The university practically gave the position to amateur art supporter,
Miss Kirkoff, after the director s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The real issue was not that the new director opened the doors to the public, but the management
organization at the University Art Museum. There are three main points as listed by the elderly
statesmen of the faculty that need to be addressed and clearly defined for the museum: its
mission, its direction, and its objectives. These are clearly the focal problems in this case. What
the university has to do as a whole is to set organizational goals and develop the plans to
accomplish them. The museum is not thriving with the school as well as it has in the past, and the
direction of the university is being questioned. III. Critical Analysis
The later director wanted it to be a community resource as said in the case, and the museum gained
bad reputation during that time as an academic resource. The building was designed by Miss
Kirkoff to help university and its alumni in their pursuit of knowledge. It failed greatly to support
the university and the public. At the time, the museum expected to hire a director and allow them
to shape the museum in any way they see suitable. The university on the other hand should have
identified the direction they want the museum to head in and create guidelines for a director to
fallow.
First, top managers at any organization, and in this case are the Dean and the board of directors of
the University, have to assess the opportunities and threats in external environment and internal
strengths and weaknesses as well. Next thing is to

Donatello Symbolism
Donatello around the mid 15th century creating a turning point in sculpture be adding meaning to
his creations as he watched them grow. Sarah McHam, wrote in her article titled Donatello s
Bronze David and Judith as Metaphors of Medici Rule in Florence the power of Donatello s
bronze sculptures and how they signaled a start for Florenceduring the Medici s Rule. The main
argument of this article focuses on the iconography and symbolism used in Donatello s David ,
and Judith and Holofernes. Both are bronze and commissioned by the Medici family and located
near each other. Both don t have much in common outside of their placement and the idea of using
old Greek and Roman poses, and the idea of a hero and placing it in modern times. Another concept
is the inspiration for Judith might have been through a story titles Policraticus which emphasis
murderand how powerful that sculpture was in presenting that concept. There was no real
evidence used that was quoted out, or presented to us as someone else s ideas. McHam used all
her own work and vision only relying on John of Salibury s Policraticus to explain a possible
connection and motivation for Judith. McHam did go back and reference the location of these

article was enjoyable to read and taught me about not only Donatello s David and Judith and

Human Development And Identity Development
In the following essay I will be discussing two particular aspects of human development and
behavior; personality and identity. I will then demonstrate an understanding of two psychological
theories which can help understand influences on personality and identity development. Finally, I
will look into further detail at Holmes and Rahe and identity two life events which I can relate to
the case study and the impact it s had on the individual. There has been an ongoing debate within
society for a long time over the influences of nature vs nurture and which one has the more
influential factor on behavior and development. It is a clear fact that Human development and
behavior is a complex interrelationship between nature and nurture. Nature relates to the genes in
which we inherit from our parents, it mainly focuses on genetics and hereditary characteristics, such
as eye colour, hair colour, or inheriting illnesses. Nature can also be referred to as the genotype.
Nurture relates to social circumstances, such as our upbringing and lifestyle. It looks at the
interaction between our genotype and environment. Another term for nurture is known as the
phenotype. An example of nature vs nurture can be a person who has developed a hereditary
diabetes from their parents. Although this has been passed on through the influence of nature we
can still use our nurture side to influence change, such as changing diet and lifestyle habits to
counteract the diabetes. Looking further into

Strategies And Instructional Methods Between Collaborative...
The terms cooperative and collaborative teaching sometimes are used correspondingly. In the
context of education, collaborative and cooperative teaching refers to the strategies and
instructional methods of teaching where the teacher guides the students in groups of various
abilities, working together and helping each of them to complete a course or project work
provided. However in fact, both methods are very different and this is very important to understand
that the differences between these two methods can be understood. Collaboration is a philosophy of
interaction and personal lifestyle where individuals are responsible for their actions, including
learning and respect the abilities and contributions of their peers; This is because, it is clear that
collaborative learning itself emphasizes interaction between group members and not the end result
of a task. In other contexts it can be stated that the quantity is focused and not quality. Thus, this
study expects that all members of society to work (working)... Show more content on

collaboration that requires the students of various abilities to work together in small groups in
order to achieve a common goal. For instance, a students of various abilities were divided in small
groups and the task was assigned by the teacher for them to complete. Firstly, the students work
individually and share their ideas and opinions in a large group. The particular task will be
managed by the group working together. In the end, the teacher asks a questions and every group
will present their outcome of the discussion related to the questions asked by the teacher. Therefore,

Summary On The Court Decision Decides A Software Patent...
Summary
This Supreme Court decision decides a software patent complaint between Alice Corporation Pty.
Ltd.
(Alice) and CLS Bank International et al (CLS Bank). The question in this case asks whether a
patent
claiming the use of a fundamental economic principle is eligible for patent because it applies the use
of
a computer.
Procedural History
The petitioner of the case, CLS Bank, has several patents (Nos. 5,970,479, 6,912,510, 7,149,720,
7,725,375) pertaining to the exchange of financial obligations between two parties by using a
computer system as a third party intermediary i.e. escrow. (Alice Corp v. CLS Bank, 13 298 S. Ct. 2
(2013)) The respondent in this case, CLS Bank, is a cash settlement service dealing in the foreign
exchange market. CLS Bank has filed suit against Alice in District Court, claiming the patents are
invalid, unenforceable, or not infringed. After the Supreme Court decided on Bilski v. Kappos, No.
08
964 (2010) both parties filed cross motions in District Court seeking summary judgment as to
whether
the asserted claims are eligible for patent. The District Court held that the claims are patent
ineligible
because they are directed to an abstract idea. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
reversed the decision with a divided panel. Their assertion stated that there was no obvious use of an
abstract concept. The Federal Circuit then agreed to hear the claim en banc and vacated the panel s

Thurmond Rule Pros And Cons
The Thurmond Rule is an informal and somewhat amorphous rule in the United States Senate
regarding confirmations of judicial nominees. While it originated with former Senator Strom
Thurmond s opposition to President Lyndon Johnson s nomination of Justice Abe Fortas to be
Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in June 1968, the specifics of the rule vary between sources.
Thurmond himself said that no lifetime judicial appointments should move in the last six months
or so of a lame duck presidency.[1] In the last year of George W. Bush s second term Democratic
Senator Patrick Leahy stated the rule as meaning judicial nominations do not advance in the Senate

For example, Senator Leahy rejected the rule in the closing months of the Democratic Clinton

work with senators from other states, as well, so that we might make progress before time runs out
on your presidency and the Thurmond rule precludes additional confirmations. [2] In June 2012,
however, Leahy said it is troubling to hear Senate Republicans already talking about how they plan
to resort to the Thurmond Rule to shut down all judicial confirmations for the rest of the year. [4]
In 2004, Republican Senator Orrin Hatch dismissed the rule: Strom Thurmond unilaterally on his

The Little Mermaid
The Little Mermaid is a fairy tale by the Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. The tale
is about a young mermaid willing to give up her life in the sea and her identity as a merperson to

But to gain legs, she must give up her most precious asset, her beautiful voice. There are some
standard elements of teenage life here, including young love, and some degree of rebellion from
ones parents, in this case King Triton, Ariel s father. It was not Ariel s physical beauty that the
Prince loved, but her voice. He is enraptured by the voice even in the presence of Ariel s physical
beauty and great legs. The metaphor here should be obvious. What does a woman lose when she
becomes subservient to a man, or male dominated culture in general? She loses her voice. The
point of the movie is that a young woman s beauty should come not from her physical attributes,
but from her voice, her personality, her self. Metaphorically, without her voice in society, she is
pretty helpless and powerless to change what s going on around her, explain herself, etc. As for the
prince he isn t interested in Ariel just for her looks. It is also important to note that she gets her
reward only after working together with her father, King Triton.
In the original version The Little Mermaid, longing for the prince and an eternal soul, eventually
visits the Sea Witch, who sells her a potion that gives her legs, in exchange for her tongue. The Sea
Witch cuts her tongue and warns her that once she becomes a human, she will never be able to
return to the sea. Drinking the potion made out of snakes and

Proto-Industrialization And Proto-Industrialization
NK TSHEBI 213509655 ECHS 209 TUT 1 According to Ogilvie (1993), proto industrialisation
refers to the process that took place in Europe during the 16th and 19th century, this process
involved domestic industries which produced goods for international markets. The local producers
for the proto industries included peasants which worked on farmers and still managed to do
manufacturing. Pastoral Farming was labour intensive and as such they could dedicate some of
their time to manufacturing, corn farmers spent their time on manufacturing during the slack
periods. Proto industrialisation often took place in areas with unproductive soils or places which

Proto industrial workers grew insufficient food to even cover their own basic food needs and this
was due to farms being too small in size or the soils were unfertile. Farming productivity also
decreased because the peasant manufacturers ended up neglecting their farms since manufacturing
was expanding. The peasants who neglected farming ended up depending on the wages paid by the

Steven Johnson Everything Bad Is Good For You Analysis
In his book Everything bad is good for you , Steven Johnson expresses his opinion about popular
culture especially television programs and video games how it changes our lives in a positive
way and how it s making the society smarter. The author is trying to convince the readers that
popular culture has, on average, grown more complex and intellectually challenging over the past
thirty years. The author also explains the sleeper curve concept witch refers to the following idea:
as time passes, the median level of cognitive complexity provided by popular culture is increasing

Do we get rewards for reading? Not really; the action of reading is actually really demanding: we
need to be able to process the information, we need to concentrate and we also need to pay a lot
of attention, we can t be distracted while reading. We all have to decide if we read for pleasure
or because we are forced to. If we read for pleasure, we will sure get a reward, a personal one; by
reading a book for pleasure, we can create our own images based on the words. The story is quite
different regarding rewards in a game. You can also get a reward after accomplish your tasks.
Real life is also full of rewards, which is one of the reasons why there are so many forms of
addiction. The author still believes that printed word remain the most powerful vehicle for
conveying complicated information and he aims to persuade the readers with two important things:
1. by almost all the standards we use to measure reading s benefits attention, memory, following
threads and so on the non literary popular culture has been steadily growing more challenging over
the past thirty years and 2. Increasingly, the non literary popular culture is honing different mental
skills that are just as important as the ones exercised by reading books.

Georgia OKeefe Black Iris Analysis
Description Black Iris is a 1926 painting by artist Georgia O Keefe. The painting is especially
notable for its monumental size and acute attention to detail, which in turn allowed O Keefe to
force[] the viewer to observe the small details that might otherwise be overlooked ( Black Iris ).
This attention is particularly focused on color and form, accentuating the gradation in the
flower from dark purples to light greys and pinks along with the iris s curvaceous shape. O
Keefe produced many similar immense paintings of flowers. Both Black Iris and O Keefe s
other flower works are ostensibly only a large scale portrayal of a flower meant to evoke
appreciation of the objects in nature that often go unnoticed and nothing more. Nonetheless, one
of the most common interpretations of the flowers, and especially Black Iris, is that they are
depictions of female genitalia (Ellis Petersen). Black Iris is said to contain highly evocative and
sensual overtones and a near eroticism (Widewalls Editorial). O Keefe met the interpretations of
works like Black Iris as erotic with vehement denials, stating: I made you take time to look at
what I saw and when you took time to really notice my flower, you hung all your own
associations with flowers on my flower and you write about my flower as if I think and see what
you think and see of the flower and I don t, those associations being that flowers themselves look
like female genitalia ( What do you see in Georgia O Keeffe s flowers? and Widewalls Editorial).
Some who agree with the erotic interpretation of Black Iris and O Keefe s other flowers see the
work as a reclamation of femininity and female sexuality, while others go even further in
identifying O Keefe in a lineage of art by queer women, claiming the work as part of a lesbian
tradition extending back to the eighteenth century ( What do you see ). Platonic Analysis If
reading Black Iris as a portrait of female genitalia disguised as flower, the work takes its place on
the second rung of the Ladder of Love. This second rung involves becoming a lover of all
beautiful bodies rather than just one because the beauty on any body whatever is akin to that on
any other body (Plato 210b). In Symposium,

Accountability and the Importance of Taking Care of Your Equipment
Accountability stems from late Latin accomptare, meaning to account. Accountability in the
military is the obligation imposed by law or lawful order or regulation on an officer or other person

Trayvon Martin s Struggle In The US
I was fourteen when I first became aware of black struggles, particularly in the United States. An
innocent, 17 year old Trayvon Martin was fatally shot by neighborhood watch volunteer George
Zimmerman. Martin was shot plainly because he was Black and yet, Zimmerman walked away a
free man on the grounds of self defense. His death had ignited something in me. A teenage boy
was murdered because an ignorant, racist and self glorified man had garnered the sympathy of the
justice system. Truthfully, this was only a nudge to the direction. As sad it is, I was still naГЇve.
However, with every bullet that pierced through each innocent black body, the systemic racism that
had targeted the Black community for centuries had made itself known to me. More

The topic that I have chosen to discuss throughout this paper is Managing and Resolving

lot of relationships failing, including some of mines due to lack of resolving and managing
conflicts correctly. By the end of this paper I hope that I have helped the reader understand and

Conflict need not be catastrophic or personal conflicts are simply part of being human. Deal
with issues as they arise, avoiding conflict makes situations worse. Time does not resolve
matters instead it decreases the chance of a positive outcome. Attempt to understand the other
person s point of view because dismissing the other s views, assigning blame, and exclusive focus
on your own perspective are all counterproductive. Do not judge emotions, no one s feelings are
more or less right than the other. Emotions reflect a valid perspective of an individual even if
you don t understand it; acknowledge the other person s reaction as important. Focus on the
behavior, situation or problem area without attacking the person involved. Do not assume your
values or beliefs are right , they reflect a view of the world from your unique perspective.
Respecting another s viewpoint as equally valuable opens an opportunity for learning and growth
(Lifetips moving up in life, 2000). Handling conflict is a skill which can be learned. It requires
practice, discipline and self control. In the midst of conflict, most people forget the overall goal in
addressing the conflict: Having your partner understand your feelings and resolving the
disagreement. The more a couple can keep this goal in mind the less likely either will engage in
criticism, yelling or name calling. These behaviors only fuel the conflict (Managing Conflict in

All malignant tumors have tendency to metastasize and OSCC metastasize via lymphatic channel

Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) is a procedure in which the sentinel lymph node is identified,

improvement where possible. This is only possible where the company starts from the inside out.
This implies that, everyone in the company tell what they think about the company. The company
should ensure they remain relevant and flexible. This implies that they are able to make
adjustments when need arises. They should not cling to the old ways such that they become
irrelevant in the market and to the consumers. Through flexibility, they are able to reinvent

competitive some of their products can remain in the market.

Poverty and the American Dream
The American Dream as defined by James Truslow Adams in 1931 is a national ethos of the
United States in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success, and an
upward social mobility achieved through hard work. Truslow states life should be worse and
poorer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement
regardless of social class or circumstances of birth. The idea of the American Dream is rooted in the
United States Declaration of Independencewhich proclaims that all men are created equal and that
they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights including Life, Liberty and the

As he noted in the preface, there was no shortage of such books. What he wanted to contribute was
broad interpretive sensibility that emphasized important historical themes. For Adams, no theme
was more important than what he called that American dream of better, richer, and happier life for
all our of citizens of every rank, which is the greatest contribution we have made to the thought and
welfare of the world. That dream of hope has been present since we became and independent
nation, each generation has seen an uprising of ordinary Americans to save that dream from the
forces which appeared to be overwhelming it.
While Adams may have the coined the phrase of the American Dream, it is apparent that the
notion of the Dream was a prevalent long before the term was engrained in the oral culture of
American society. The roots of the American Dream is evident even in the composition of the
Declaration of Independence. Written in 1776, Cullen suggests that the Declaration of
Independence is directly worded to invoke a spirit of the anything is possible at any moment. He
states: Maybe saying that the Declaration is central in contemporary American life seems odd, since
a few of us have actually read the entire document. And those of us who have can t help but notice
that this manifesto, like so much else about American Revolution, is remote, even tedious. The Key

The Problem Of Drugs And Drug Abuse In Israel
America is not the only country in the world that struggles with drug abuse; Israel has similar
problems. It wasn t until the 80 s that drug use in Israel became a central problem. Israel has
developed into a society that is copied after our modern western society. With the reflection of
our western society, Israel received many good points, as well as many bad ones; a drug issue
being a negative effect. The issue of drug abuse mostly effects kids starting in Elementary
school. Unfortunately, drugs are not hard to obtain due to the large black market operations.
Drug dealers in Israel are very business minded and know how to achieve repeat customers.
Their tactics include giving out free drugs to first time users, getting them addicted, and then
charging them. This problem leaves many kids broke and looking for other means to make
money many times resorting to illegal activities. Approximately 300 thousand people in Israel

11% of the age group in Israel. 25 thousand are addicts. Heroin, cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, and

Merit pay is a term describing performance related pay. Its primary focus is used for helping
teachers improve their performance by learning from each other. Merit Pay can take the form of
a bonus or a permanent teacher salary increased. This motivates many teachers because they
believe they are being evaluated more fairly than traditional evaluation. Merit pay is important
to study because it s a one of the most controversial issue in the field of education and it does
have an effect on school finance in the future. We should be concerned about using merit pay in
our school system because most professions offer bonuses and salary increases for their
exemplary employees why should the education profession be any different? Shouldn t we try
and use incentives as we do with our students to motivate teachers to give their very best in
educating our future leaders of tomorrow. Merit pay will recruit and retain some of the nation s

Analysis Of Dante Alihieri s Purgatorio By Dante Is...
In Dante Alihieri s Purgatorio, Dante is climbing up the Mount of Purgatory. Dante encounters
many trials that he must face with the help of Virgil (human reason). The closer Dante gets the to
the top of Purgatory the more and more Virgil fades away and when he finally does disappear
Beatrice is there to be Dante s guide.. Throughout Purgatorio, Alihieri uses Beatrice not only as a
symbol to portray the medieval church but also a light. This is why Dante is blinded by the sight
of Beatrice when she drops the veil. Most commentators agree with idea of Beatrice being a symbol
of both the church and light while Bernard Stambler agrees with this but he expands upon that
symbol. While most commentators believe that Beatrice is an accurate example of the Church,
others tend to believe that the chariot that Alihieri talks about in Canto 32 is a more accurate
representation of the church. John Carroll was one of the ones to believe this. In Stambler s book,
Dante s Other World; the Purgatorio as Guide to the Divine Comedy, he talks about how Beatrice is
more than just one symbol in Canto 32 and 33 in Purgatorio. He says that first, the essential
function of the Church throughout the purgatorial process and through the further preparation of
the soul for its entrance to heaven; second, the material decay into which the Church as an
institution had fallen through her usurpation of temporal functions (Stambler 271). He is saying

Emmanuel Kant Research Paper
Before critical theory was fully developed and defined, many philosophers played a part
influencing future thinkers in the way we critique reason, ourselves, society, and ultimately how we
can strive towards autonomy and freedom. These four German historical figures were: Emmanuel
Kant, J.G. Fichte, G.W.F. Hegel and Karl Marx. Emmanuel Kant was born in 1724 and died in
1804 in Konigsberg, Prussia. He was one of nine children and grew up in a strict religious
household. From the age of 16, Kant spent most of his years in life at the University of Konigsberg
as a student and completing his own research. As a youth, he studied philosophy, sciences, and the
works of Isaac Newton. Although Kant is known for his philosophical contributions, he made major
contribution to astronomy in the 1750 s and 60 s by theorizing about our solar system and the Earth

Biography of Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln was a self educated lawyer who did not support slavery. He surprised many
people when he became the 16th President mainly because he beat out several promising
contenders. During the Civil War Lincoln became quite brilliant with military strategy and an
excellent wartime leader. With the Union on the brink of victory Lincoln became a martyr when
he was shot and killed by a Confederate sympathizer by the name of John Wilkes Booth. Over time
Lincoln became known as one of the greatest Presidents of all time.
Abraham Lincoln was born February 12 1809 in Hardin County Kentucky to Thomas and Nancy
Lincoln. In 1816 his family moved to southern Indiana. Lincoln had little formal education due to
the fact that he ahd to work to help support his family. Lincolns mother died when he was only
nine, and as a young boy he took that pretty rough. Abraham quickly began to resent his father for
all the work that was placed on him at a young age.
His father remarried a Kentucky widow with three children of her own. Although Lincolns
parents were probably illiterate, Sarah encouraged Abraham to read. It wasn t till he was a
young man that he received most of his formal education. It would come in days or weeks at a
time. Books were scarce in the backwoods of Indiana, so Lincoln would read the Bible or other
popular books of that time such as Robinson Crusoe and several others.
In 1830, Lincolns family moved to Macon County, Illinois. At the age of 22 when his father

Net Neutrality Case Study
Skeptics of net neutrality can often contend with those who support net neutrality by drawing
comparisons with the Cable Act of 1992. The act was meant to protect the consumers by forcing
cable companies to carry most local broadcast channels and prohibited them from charging local
broadcasters to carry their own signal. One such argument came from Thomas W. Hazlett, a
professor of law and economics at George Mason University; he stated that the act s inability to
maintain the number of customers, let alone increase raises the question of the real effects of
consumer protection laws despite its initial intentions. Hazlett likens net neutrality by insisting that
it s likely to repeat the same consequences, which stifle progress and profit.... Show more content on

Gigi Sohn, the president and chief executive of Public Knowledge, an open Internet advocacy group
based in Washington, D.C., asserts that the Cable Act of 1992 was not a true testament to offering
protection for the end users. Instead, there is no requirement that a cable operator carry any
particular independent programmer. Cable still decides what its customers see and when they see it
(Wall Street Journal, Should Congress Overturn the Net Neutrality Rules? ). Net neutrality stands to
be much more as it prevents Internet service providers from irresponsibly endangering Internet
users and companies with prioritization for certain services. Net neutrality stands to be much more
as it adds a level of certainty that app developers and content providers can trust and invest to
maintain a prosperous and anti competitive Internet

Over The Snail Research Paper
If one of your toenails is discolored, painful, or coming loose, you might have a fungal infection.
Just like you get athlete s foot between your toes, you can get a fungal infection underneath your
toenail. When the nail is infected, it can take a long time to get rid of the fungus. That s because
your nailis thick, so the fungus has a warm, moist place to thrive where topical medications can t
easily reach. You have to be persistent and patient when you re treating a toenail infected with
fungus. Here are some of the treatment options you may want to try.
Over The Counter Topical Treatments
When you first notice your toe has a problem, try to get it under control with an over the counter
product. You can buy polish, creams, and footsoaks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You can buy polish, creams, and foot soaks that kill the fungus. Some of these have anti fungal
medications and others are natural products such as tea tree oil. If your infection isn t too bad, you
may get your infection under control with self treatments. Just keep in mind, it takes about 9 12
months to grow a new toenail, so it may be several weeks or months until you notice a change in
the appearance of your nail.
Prescription Medications
When over the counter treatments don t work, or if your infection causes you a lot of pain and
discomfort, see your doctor for stronger medication. Your doctor may prescribe ointment or nail
polish that contains anti fungal drugs. You may also need to take oral anti fungal medication so the
drugs can get to the underside of your nail through your bloodstream. Your doctor may take a
sample of your toenail for analysis to match the type of infection you have with the best medication
for treating it.

should be. Like whether it s going to be a vegetable garden or flowers of a combination garden.
Then they will have to select a work list. Every work will be written in the work list and will be
divided between the committee members. You will need teams to do some tasks like Funding and
Resource Development, Youth Activities, Construction and many more. Then you will have to

Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) That Protects Students
Many schools use an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) that protects students and teachers privacy.
An Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) is a policy that a user must agree to follow in order to be
provided with access to a network or to the Internet. For example, when a student first logs on the
computer for the first time there is this long page, that most people do not read, that explains the
computer of policy and once you scroll down to the end of the page it asks you to agree and
disagree. The long page just explains the rights and responsibilities of both the computer and the
users. The components of the Acceptable Use Policy are as follows: a description of the

Compare And Contrast Snow White And Ravenna
By fairest blood it is done, by fairest blood it is undone Snow white and the huntsman is the
battle between beauty and innocence for fairest blood. This is a four star dark twist to the
traditional fairy tale of the orphaned princess, Snow White (Kristen Stewart), and her escape
from her step mother and evil Queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron). From the producers of Alice
and the Wonderland, An Evil Queen, Ravenna, tricks, seduces, and kills the king; she takes the
kingdom and rules with intimidation and magic. She draws her life force and youth from magic
which is fuelled by the draining of other beautiful young hearts and souls. Her life is to be the

Unlike the role she played in twilight, she has no other main characters to hold her up. She
drains the personality from Snow White in addition to the lack of importance felt in her
character. This is predominantly seen in the fight to the death scene with Snow White and
Ravenna. While Theron oozes fire and elegance, Stuart can t seem to capture a believable
character. Snow White is supposed to be innocence and humility in contrast to the Queens magic
and pride. Her sharp angled face, greasy voice, and empty facial expressions she was a flawed
choice by the directors. Drunk, bitter and half dead. The gorgeous Chris Hemsworth plays the in
between of life and death as the Huntsman. Once being a small point in the original brothers
Grimm fairy tale, Hemsworth s huntsman has created a new take on the contrast between the
two main roles. This is greatly shown when he is pulled out of a dirty tub of water with a
hangover and a debt and he is brought to the queen s throne. When the queen s guards draw
spears against him he says Do me the favour, I beg of you. He can t stand to be alive because the
Queens magic killed his wife for her youth. Finn tells the Huntsman She screamed your name but
you weren t there. Now you can beg her forgiveness in the other world. Now as Snow White lay
dead the Huntsman begs for forgiveness from her I m so sorry I failed you. I m

Never Let Me Fate
Most people plan their future out for themselves, getting the education they need to grow up to do
what they love. However, in the novel Never Let Me go by Kazuo Ishiguro, things are uniquely
different for the children at Hailsham. The children who attend Hailsham are clones, who have had
their entire future planned out for them by society, to donate their vital organs for humans who need
them. Even though this may seem like a terrible situation to be born into, the clones do not try to
change their fate, and acceptit with little resistance. One of the reasons that they accept this as their
fate, is that they are simply raised with the idea, therefore it is all that they know, it is normal for
them. Also, they do not have the proper upbringing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They spend most of their life with the idea that this is normal, and this is what they are made to

on how people outside of Hailsham live their lives. Without any idea of how other people live
their lives, they may have no problem knowing that this is their fate, because they don t have
any idea of what they could be doing with their lives if they didn t have these restrictions. I can
see ..that it might look as though you are simply pawns in a game. It can certainly be looked at
like that. But think of it. You were lucky pawns. There was a certain climate and now it s gone.
You have to accept that sometimes that s how things happen in this world. (Ishiguro, 266) The
guardians at Hailsham treated the children as regular people to give them the most normal life
possible, by reassuring the children that their situation could be seen in a positive light the children
would become accustomed to the idea that there was nothing they could do to change their fate and
ultimately decide to view their situation as a good thing. Nobody bothered to try to change things,
because they didn t believe there was anything wrong that needed to be

It appears that these eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia are linked to the drive for
thinness and have appeared before in adolescence girls. (Harrison et. al., 2006, p. 153). The results
of this study indicated that television viewing predicts disordered eating in preadolescent girls
without yet influencing their current body ideal. (Harrison et. al, 2006 p. 162) The last study
examined media exposure and disordered eating. Irving (2001), stated reported that children ages
eight to eighteen spend at least 6 ВЅ hours daily using computers, watching television, playing
video games, and is expressed to approximately 3,000 advertisements. Many studies confirm that
exposure to the media influences behavior and attitudes. (Irving, 2001, p. 259) This study also
indicated that the impact of the thin beauty ideal on women s body related attitudes and behaviors
has been the participant of investigation for the awhile. (Irving, 2001, p. 259). In particular the
hypothesis explored is that increasingly thin standard of female beauty has led to increases in

Essay on Walt Whitman
Walt Whitman
In parting with traditional poetic formalities, Walt Whitman alleviated a burden that impeded his
ability to achieve full poetic expression. To Whitman, the strict boundaries that formal meter,
structure, and rhyme imposed set limits on his stylistic freedom. This is not to say that these limits
prevented Whitman from conveying his themes. Rather, they presented a contradiction to which
Whitman refused to conform. In Whitman s eyes, to meet these formal guidelines one would also
have to sacrifice the ability to express qualities and passion of living men. Thus, Whitman contested
traditional poetic protocol because it added a layer of superficiality that concerned itself with
creating perfect rhythmical, metrical, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This meant that stanzas consisted of a predetermined amount of lines or that the poem had a
predetermined amount of stanzas. Augmenting this formal structure were predetermined rhyme
schemes (such as abab cdcd efef gg in Shakespearean sonnets). Based on the above, we can describe
traditional poetic etiquette as adhering to the suggested formal patterns predetermined by the
tradition of British poetry. Just in reaching the above conclusion, a problem arises that all poets, not
just Whitman, face when trying to conform to this style. This problem is that all of these rules are
cumbersome. It is difficult for a poet to convey the theme of a poem when he or she is concerned
with whether or not each word fits into a designated formal pattern. Yet, some would argue that this
is what makes poetry such an elegant art form. Surely, Whitman recognized the genius found in
Shakespeare s sonnets and other constitutive examples of traditional British poetry. However,
whether or not Whitman recognized the genius of great traditional British poets, is inconsequential.
What did matter was whether or not Whitman felt that this style was appropriate for him. The
answer is no. Whitman found problems not simply with the fact that clinging to the traditional style
might be burdensome (surely this would not have been an insurmountable task for Whitman), but
his main issue with traditional style concerned the ornamental effect of formal regularity:

Relevant Facts/Background The Art Museum is a building on the university premises that is providing a place for the art collection of a university. The building was given to the university by an alumnus around 1929. The wealthy son of the university s first president served as the museum s unpaid director until his death. The real issue was not that the new director opened the doors to the public, but the management organization at the University Art Museum. There are three main points as listed by the elderly statesmen of the faculty that need to be addressed and clearly defined for the museum: its mission, its direction, and its objectives. These are clearly the focal problems in this case. What the university has to do as a whole is to set organizational goals and develop the plans to accomplish them. The museum is not thriving with the school as well as it has in the past, and the direction of the university is being questioned. III. Critical Analysis The later director wanted it to be a community resource as said in the case, and the museum gained bad reputation during that time as an academic resource. The building was designed by Miss Kirkoff to help university and its alumni in their pursuit of knowledge. It failed greatly to support the university and the public. At the time, the museum expected to hire a director and allow them to shape the museum in any way they see suitable. The university on the other hand should have identified the direction they want the museum to head in and create guidelines for a director to fallow. • 6. Human Development And Identity Development In the following essay I will be discussing two particular aspects of human development and behavior; personality and identity. I will then demonstrate an understanding of two psychological theories which can help understand influences on personality and identity development. Finally, I will look into further detail at Holmes and Rahe and identity two life events which I can relate to the case study and the impact it s had on the individual. There has been an ongoing debate within society for a long time over the influences of nature vs nurture and which one has the more influential factor on behavior and development. It is a clear fact that Human development and behavior is a complex interrelationship between nature and nurture. Nature relates to the genes in which we inherit from our parents, it mainly focuses on genetics and hereditary characteristics, such as eye colour, hair colour, or inheriting illnesses. Nature can also be referred to as the genotype. Nurture relates to social circumstances, such as our upbringing and lifestyle. It looks at the interaction between our genotype and environment. Another term for nurture is known as the phenotype. An example of nature vs nurture can be a person who has developed a hereditary diabetes from their parents. Although this has been passed on through the influence of nature we can still use our nurture side to influence change, such as changing diet and lifestyle habits to counteract the diabetes. (Alice) and CLS Bank International et al (CLS Bank). The question in this case asks whether a patent claiming the use of a fundamental economic principle is eligible for patent because it applies the use of a computer. Procedural History The petitioner of the case, CLS Bank, has several patents (Nos. 5,970,479, 6,912,510, 7,149,720, 7,725,375) pertaining to the exchange of financial obligations between two parties by using a computer system as a third party intermediary i.e. escrow. (Alice Corp v. CLS Bank, 13 298 S. Ct. 2 (2013)) The respondent in this case, CLS Bank, is a cash settlement service dealing in the foreign exchange market. CLS Bank has filed suit against Alice in District Court, claiming the patents are invalid, unenforceable, or not infringed. After the Supreme Court decided on Bilski v. Kappos, No. 08 964 (2010) both parties filed cross motions in District Court seeking summary judgment as to whether the asserted claims are eligible for patent. The District Court held that the claims are patent ineligible because they are directed to an abstract idea. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit reversed the decision with a divided panel. Their assertion stated that there was no obvious use of an abstract concept. The Federal Circuit then agreed to hear the claim en banc and vacated the panel s 1

  • 25. Georgia OKeefe Black Iris Analysis Description Black Iris is a 1926 painting by artist Georgia O Keefe. The painting is especially notable for its monumental size and acute attention to detail, which in turn allowed O Keefe to force[] the viewer to observe the small details that might otherwise be overlooked ( Black Iris ). This attention is particularly focused on color and form, accentuating the gradation in the flower from dark purples to light greys and pinks along with the iris s curvaceous shape. O Keefe produced many similar immense paintings of flowers. Both Black Iris and O Keefe s other flower works are ostensibly only a large scale portrayal of a flower meant to evoke appreciation of the objects in nature that often go unnoticed and nothing more. Nonetheless, one of the most common interpretations of the flowers, and especially Black Iris, is that they are depictions of female genitalia (Ellis Petersen). Black Iris is said to contain highly evocative and sensual overtones and a near eroticism (Widewalls Editorial). O Keefe met the interpretations of works like Black Iris as erotic with vehement denials, stating: I made you take time to look at what I saw and when you took time to really notice my flower, you hung all your own associations with flowers on my flower and you write about my flower as if I think and see what you think and see of the flower and I don t, those associations being that flowers themselves look like female genitalia ( What do you see in Georgia O Keeffe s flowers? and Widewalls Editorial). Some who agree with the erotic interpretation of Black Iris and O Keefe s other flowers see the work as a reclamation of femininity and female sexuality, while others go even further in identifying O Keefe in a lineage of art by queer women, claiming the work as part of a lesbian tradition extending back to the eighteenth century ( What do you see ). Platonic Analysis If reading Black Iris as a portrait of female genitalia disguised as flower, the work takes its place on the second rung of the Ladder of Love. This second rung involves becoming a lover of all beautiful bodies rather than just one because the beauty on any body whatever is akin to that on any other body (Plato 210b). In Symposium, ... Throughout Purgatorio, Alihieri uses Beatrice not only as a symbol to portray the medieval church but also a light. This is why Dante is blinded by the sight of Beatrice when she drops the veil. Most commentators agree with idea of Beatrice being a symbol of both the church and light while Bernard Stambler agrees with this but he expands upon that symbol. While most commentators believe that Beatrice is an accurate example of the Church, others tend to believe that the chariot that Alihieri talks about in Canto 32 is a more accurate representation of the church. John Carroll was one of the ones to believe this. In Stambler s book, Dante s Other World; the Purgatorio as Guide to the Divine Comedy, he talks about how Beatrice is more than just one symbol in Canto 32 and 33 in Purgatorio. Snow White is supposed to be innocence and humility in contrast to the Queens magic and pride. Her sharp angled face, greasy voice, and empty facial expressions she was a flawed choice by the directors. Drunk, bitter and half dead. The gorgeous Chris Hemsworth plays the in between of life and death as the Huntsman. Once being a small point in the original brothers Grimm fairy tale, Hemsworth s huntsman has created a new take on the contrast between the two main roles. This is greatly shown when he is pulled out of a dirty tub of water with a hangover and a debt and he is brought to the queen s throne. When the queen s guards draw spears against him he says Do me the favour, I beg of you. He can t stand to be alive because the Queens magic killed his wife for her youth. • 52. Essay on Walt Whitman Walt Whitman In parting with traditional poetic formalities, Walt Whitman alleviated a burden that impeded his ability to achieve full poetic expression. To Whitman, the strict boundaries that formal meter, structure, and rhyme imposed set limits on his stylistic freedom. This is not to say that these limits prevented Whitman from conveying his themes. Rather, they presented a contradiction to which Whitman refused to conform. In Whitman s eyes, to meet these formal guidelines one would also have to sacrifice the ability to express qualities and passion of living men. Thus, Whitman contested traditional poetic protocol because it added a layer of superficiality that concerned itself with creating perfect rhythmical, metrical, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This meant that stanzas consisted of a predetermined amount of lines or that the poem had a predetermined amount of stanzas. Augmenting this formal structure were predetermined rhyme schemes (such as abab cdcd efef gg in Shakespearean sonnets). Based on the above, we can describe traditional poetic etiquette as adhering to the suggested formal patterns predetermined by the tradition of British poetry. Just in reaching the above conclusion, a problem arises that all poets, not just Whitman, face when trying to conform to this style. This problem is that all of these rules are cumbersome. It is difficult for a poet to convey the theme of a poem when he or she is concerned with whether or not each word fits into a designated formal pattern. Yet, some would argue that this is what makes poetry such an elegant art form. Surely, Whitman recognized the genius found in Shakespeare s sonnets and other constitutive examples of traditional British poetry. However, whether or not Whitman recognized the genius of great traditional British poets, is inconsequential. What did matter was whether or not Whitman felt that this style was appropriate for him. The answer is no. Whitman found problems not simply with the fact that clinging to the traditional style might be burdensome (surely this would not have been an insurmountable task for Whitman), but his main issue with traditional style concerned the ornamental effect of formal regularity: In ...
