The 2010 BP Oil Spill In The Gulf Of Mexico
We all know that people make mistakes, but are businesses making too many mistakes and not caring
at all that they have large effects on people, the environment and many other things. Back in 2010 BP
had an oil spill, in the Gulf of Mexico, which caused serve damage. BP, also referred to by its former
name British Petroleum, it is one of the world s seven supermajor oil and gas companies. BP is known
worldwide because it s in around 70 different countries. Some of those include Angola, Argentina,
Australia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Trinidad, the UAE, the UK, and the U.S. The slogan suggests an
environmentally friendly company undergoing a change toward alternative energy sources like solar
and wind. BP before the oil spill invested $4 billion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Palm oil is an edible plant oil which has become a common ingredient in many consumer products.
Today, around 50 percent of the goods we use every day contain palm oil, from processed foods to
candles, grooming products and biofuels . Worldwide demand for palm oil has increased sharply over
the last few years. With 54 million tons in 2011, it is the most widely produced vegetable oil
worldwide. It has the highest yield of any oil crop and is the cheapest vegetable oil to produce and
refine. Since oil palms need a rainforest climate consistently high humidity and temperatures and a lot
of land, plantations are often established at the expense of rainforests. About 90 percent (2011) of the
world s palm oil is currently being produced in Malaysia and Indonesia. Indonesia s oil palm
plantations alone already cover nine million hectares, an area the size of the state of Maine. 26 million

Free Will In Sophocles Antigone
Antigone by Sophocles follows an adamant, strong willed woman attempting to defend her ideal
towards death by providing her brother and a traitor to the state, Polynices, a proper burial against the
positive law asserted by the King. In the play, Ismene, Antigone s sister, best exemplifies the suffering
engendered by authoritarian repression and over dependency on the role of fate versus the role of free
will. The ramifications pertaining to the characters subdued and powerless individuality presents a
modern day parallel to the compulsion Syrian civilians are facing under the tyrannical rule of Bashar
al Assad.
During the conversation between Antigone and Ismene within the prologue, Antigone, resolute and
determined, proposes to her sister ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The quotation, I m forced, I have no choice I must obey the ones who stand in power [Ismene, 78] is
applicable to a modern day context upon considering the political scenario and civil unrest in Syria.
Bashar al Assad, the Syrian President, is the equivalent to Sophocles Creon in the sense that they share
ultimate power and authority over their people. The prideful exercising of available dominance over
civilians forms another bridge between al Assad and Creon, which enables us to create parallels
between those facing and accepting the repression. Al Assad s regime has been in power for the last
three election terms. The reason for this is not his political competency but rather his dictating
presence which has terrorized a majority of innocent citizens. Fifteen children in the southern Syrian
city of Daraa had their nails removed by torture as they scribbled anti Assad words on their school
walls. His regime has continued to kill hundreds of protestors who stood up for the students and has
left many more scarred with fear and threat. Similar to Ismene s dialogue and situation during the
prologue, innocent Syrians feel forced [Ismene, 78] and, despite living in a so called democracy, have
no choice [Ismene, 78] but to

The Alchemist Book Report
Santiago, who is a shepherd boy from Andalusia, was sleeping near a sycamore tree in an abandoned
church when he had a dream of a child who tells him that he will discover a treasure at the pyramids
of Egypt. He told a gypsy about his dream and she told him that it is a prophecy and he should follow
it. Then Santiago meets an enigmatic old man named Melchizedek, or the King of Salem. Santiago
learns about good and bad omens from him and that it is his responsibility to pursue his Personal
Legend. Melchizedek also gives him two stones called Urim and Thummim to interpret and read
omens. Afterwards, Santiago sells his herd and buys a ticket to Tangier, in Northern Africa. Not long
after he arrives, a thief steals all of his money and he finds a job in a crystal shop where he makes

While on the caravan, Santiago listens to the desert and discovers the Soul of the World. Once they get
to the oasis, he meets an Arab girl named Fatima and falls in love with her. The leaders of the caravan
tells the travelers that tribal warfare prevents them from going on with their journey. While Santiago
was walking in the desert, he has a vision of an army entering the oasis. He reports this to the oasis s
tribal chieftain because the oasis is neutral ground and attacking it is breaking the rules of the desert.
Then Santiago finds the alchemist and he offers to cross the desert with him. The two of them were
captured by Arab soldiers, but they would be released if Santiago can turn into wind within three days.
Since he doesn t know how to do this, Santiago ponders in the desert and on the third day he
communicates with the wind and the sun to create a huge sandstorm. The soldiers were awed and let
them go free. Then, the alchemist tells him that he needs to return to his home at the oasis and that
Santiago needs to complete the journey himself to claim his Personal

Maggie And Dee
In the short story, Everyday Use, Alice Walker uses her contrasting characters of Maggie and Dee to
show a cultural split. Dee, the eldest daughter, comes home to visit her family who lives a very
traditional way of life. Dee has gone to college and lives a more modernist lifestyle, whereas her sister
Maggie has not gone to school and lives a more traditionalist lifestyle. This difference between the
sisters shows the division in the 1960 s between a traditionalist and modernist lifestyle through her
characters Maggie and Dee.
During the 1960s some African Americans began to replace their birth names with names of African
or Muslim descent, but what was the reason behind this change? In his article, Destroying to Save:
Idealism and Pragmatism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This appreciation also leads to Dee changing not only her lifestyle, but several other things such as her
apparel and name; which is described as stereotypically African. However, Dee s new found
appreciation does seem, like Hakims, to be more of a fad. In Diane Ross s article, Everyday Use, she
states, To Dee, artifacts such as the benches or the quilts are strictly aesthetic objects. It never occurs
to her that they, too, are symbols of oppression: Her family made these things because they could not
afford to buy them (Ross ). This shows, unlike her sister Maggie, Dee s perception of the quilts are
strictly aesthetic and artistic pieces that reflect African Heritage. Dee never considers they may
represent oppression themselves and it makes her seem as though she wants them solely just to show
off. In addition, Ross goes on to state, Her admiration for them now seems to reflect a cultural trend
toward valuing handmade objects, rather than any sincere interest in her heritage. After all, when she
was offered a quilt before she went away to college, she rejected it as old fashioned, out of style (Ross
). This shows that Dee s change to a modernist lifestyle was influenced through a cultural trend. This
also alludes to when Dee rejected a quilt before she went to college, but now that she has discovered
the cultural trend of college, she wants one.

Impulsiveness In Romeo And Juliet
In Shakespeare s tragic play Romeo and Juliet the character of Romeo possess traits that exemplify
himself as a tragic hero. Through the play, his impatience and impulsiveness pin him as a Tragic hero.
Falling in love too fast, reacting without thinking and bringing down other with himself factors that
lead to the downfall of Romeo and prove him as a Tragic hero. When we are first introduced to
Romeo in this play he is heartbroken over a woman named Rosaline. In act one scene one Benvolio, is
asked where Romeo is by Lady Montague and responds saying he is crying in the woods and
Montague adds Many a morning hath he there been seen, with tears augementing the fresh morning s

Also Romeo s impatience and impulsiveness is demonstrated when he finds Juliet dead . When
Romeo receives news that Juliet was reported dead he quickly get poison, makes his way to the tomb
and kills himself to be with her. Before drinking the poison he states O here will i set up my
everlasting rest (5.3 109 110) and O true apothecary! Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die ( 5.3
120). Within seconds after Romeo killing himself Juliet wakes up from being dead as part of the plan
and a downward spiral begins. If Romeo were to reacted differently he could avoid many casualties
but because of his tragic flaw of impatience and impulsiveness the result is the death of himself and
others. Finally, Romeo demonstrates himself as a Tragic hero through his impulsiveness and
impatience because his quick reaction results in the demise of other characters in the story. When
Juliet awakes from her rest to find Romeo had killed himself just seconds before she reacts the same.
Juliet picks up romeo s dagger and says O happy dagger is thy sheath let me rust and die. (5.3 169

Montague met her demise. At a meeting with the Prince of Verona and the Capulets Montague

Christian Teachings on Poverty and Wealth Essay
Christian Teachings on Poverty and Wealth
Ever since the beginning of the Christian faith, poverty and wealth have been a big issue. Before Jesus
was born, the rich would use religion to keep the poor away from them. The wealthy thought their
riches were a blessing from God and that their faith and dedication was a reason for God bestowing
them with wealth. They believed that the poor were not true followers of God and therefore suffered
with poverty. They thought that the poor were not as important in the eyes of God. However, Jesus
himself was born in a poor family and he was born in a stable where the animals were kept. For you
know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, ... Show more content on

This was what Jesus was particularly against and believed that this was what would prevent a select
few from reaching heaven. Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. But woe to
you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. Luke 6: 20 and Luke 6:24. He believed
that, You cannot serve both God and money. Luke 16:13. All men and women were equal in God s
eyes regardless of status and wealth: There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female,
for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26.
In the Bible, Saint James said that the most important people in heaven were the outcasts of society
making them one of the most loved people of God: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the
eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?
James 2:5. In 1Timothy 6:10, Saint Paul said that For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.
Through this quote, Saint Paul emphasizes that monetary problems lead to most wrong doings such as
stealing, corruption and gambling. Saint Paul did not condemn money or wealth and neither did Jesus
but said that the love of money was wrong and this is what kept a rich man from entering heaven. He
also said that, Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will
also reap generously.

Email Security Improving An Email Address
Email security improving
An email address is currently what a mailbox was in 1940. Individuals send letters, reminders and
business agendas via email every day. Each year, more persons are becoming acclimated to the
Internet and, as the number of people who need email rises, so do the number of email service
providers. Dissimilar providers offer different features like storage, folder creation, and spam filters so
people should choose one that meets their desires.
These days, email is a needed part of communication. If individuals are not hooked up to email, they
may never hear from anyone they know. Email is a little more complicated than sending a letter in the
mail, nevertheless it is the same idea. Persons will be on their way to sending letters by using their
computer in no time. It is a cheap and easy way to send a message to anyone. All in all, it is significant
for email user to get the knowledge and understand how secure their E mail is and how become more
secure.
How secure is your E mail?
When individuals send emails from one place to another, the most significant thing they can do is
secure their email. A secure email has a much smaller chance of being pilfered or used for information
than one that is not secure. The most significant thing persons can do is make sure that they are being
smart about their Internet connections.
Common email providers tend to allow (or require) a secure HTTPS connection between the browser
or email client and their servers.

We Must Keep Your Computer Safer
Introduction
There are simple steps that can be taken to make your computer safer. Every computer connected to a
network is at risk of being attacked, but knowledge of each threat that can occur and knowing how to
minimize your security risk can help in the setup of a new computer and the ones that you already
have. With knowing how to prevent your computer from being attacked will help you in setting up
accounts for social media as well because you will be able to tell what and who is harmful to your
account.
Threats and Vulnerabilities Though it has been some years since I have set up a Twitter account it hasn
t been the last time I ve set up a social network account. I had created one for the purpose of my
YouTube Channel. The signup process was easy even putting pictures or basic information on the
page. They asked my interest as to gage what I would want to see on my timeline. Then proceed to
make a suggestion list of people I may want to follow based off how I answered or selected what or
who I m interested in. As time went on I ve only followed accounts that I may already follow on my
original twitter account. No complaints here on that process. The list of suggestions grew once I
befriended my original page. No complaints here on that process.

The Effect Of Tyson Foods And Other Meat Factories On...
In this article Nicholas Kristof, is talking about on how Tyson Foods and other meat factories are
harming human health and creating tons of waste around the country. He argues on how companies do
not care about the effect of animal growth since speeding up the process for the animals can affect
human health. He also states that the farmers struggle to make a living. He states that chicken back
then was a luxury dish more expensive than beef. Chicken used to cost $6.48 a pound and now it is
worth $1.57 a pound, cheaper than before, and that is because the production has increased and so
there s much more chicken available. According to Kristof, the cost went down because scientific
breeding reduced the length of time needed to raise a chicken

What Is The Similarities Between Arcite And Plamon
Arcite and Palamon, friends and foes, both fighting for the hand of the same woman. Love, true love,
is that not one of the most popular themes in any type of media? The most common portrayal of love
is a forbidden love, but after that is rivaled love. Two people fighting for the love of a single person. In
The Knight s Tale, Chaucer gives us this exact same theme. Arcite and Palamon, cousins, both
attempting to earn the hand of the beautiful Emily. When looking closer at them, we can see some
distinct differences between them but also some concealed resemblances. The most major differences
are the way the view Emily and who they turn to when they need help. Moreover, the most significant
similarity is the way they are both honorable and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In their first fight, Palamon had just escaped and Arcite had achieved a stable position in Emily s
household. Arcite was in better health and more fit than Palamon thus giving him an advantage. Arcite
could have killed him, but instead swore to Palamon that I shall not fail to be found here, on my faith
as a knight, and to bring quite enough armor for you. (Chaucer 753) They both returned and helped
each other into their armor, this is important because they both had the opportunity to sabotage the
other but they choose not to. When they are found fighting by Theseus, Palamon immediately insists
on being killed for his misdeeds, but also demands that Arcite be killed too. Palamon recognizes his
just penalty and does not argue against it. After Arcite is wounded during the tournament and he
becomes aware of his impending death, he calls Emily and Palamon to his side. After bemoaning his
fate, Arcite turns to Emily with these words: If you are ever to be a wife, forget not Palamon, the
gentle man. (Chaucer 1939) By the time Arcite dies, he and Palamon have no more quarrels between
them. He died and lived with honor, just as Palamon

Compare And Contrast Alternative And Alternative Medicine
Alternative medicine refers to the practices that are different from the conventional approach in the
field of medicine. Usually, the methods used in alternative medicine got its founding principles on the
philosophies that are opposite of those in modern day medicine. In addition, it also integrates the use
of spiritual practices, new approaches, or pre modern medical traditions in the healing process.
Alternative health care is a holistic way of caring for our body, mind and spirit. It is called alternative
because it offers a way of caring for our health that is not conventional or what we are used to in the
Western world. In the Western world caring for our health is done mostly by the administration of
medicines, many of which are synthetic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But with the advent of these drugs we gradually forgot alternative health care in favor of conventional
medicine. One reason was that conventional medicine was fast and predictable. You do not have to
search for the herb and boil it and make a concoction out of it. You just go to the drugstore, present the
prescription your doctor gave you, receive the medicine from the pharmacist or his/her aide and pay
for it. Upon reaching home, you just take the medicine. It is so convenient.
But the recent experience of people taking conventional drugs is that they may lead to dependence on
these drugs and larger doses may be required upon subsequent intakes. Furthermore there are bad
effects in taking these drugs. These happen especially with antibiotic drugs. So people began to look
for alternative ways of healing, one that is not heavily dependent on synthetic drugs and one that heals
body, soul and spirit so that the person really become whole.
Some of the methods of alternative health care may be enumerated

Why Is Frederick Banting Successful
Sir Frederick Banting is undoubtedly the greatest Canadian. His dedication, bravery and genius led to
the discovery of insulin and a significant advance in research related to silicosis, cancer and aviation
medicine. He saved millions of lives, demanding nothing in return. He did, however, receive various
awards, such as the Military Cross for distinguished and meritorious services in time of war and the
1923 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine. Not born in a particularly wealthy family, everything
he accomplished was the result of hard work, commitment, and passion. He dedicated his whole life to
helping people not only in Canada, but in the rest of the world as well. Banting did not just talk about
making a difference like most people do. He actually got up, faced the challenge and managed to
change the fate of millions.
Frederick Banting s main success was becoming the co discoverer of insulin, but it was not his first
major accomplishment. During the first world war, a heroic sacrifice earned him the Military Cross.
As a student, Banting enlisted in the Canadian Army Medical Corps and after graduation, was sent to
Europe to serve as a medical officer. In the last days of the war, seriously injured and ... Show more

Apart from showing remarkable courage, talent and intelligence, he was also very selfless and modest.
He did not do anything for money or fame, but for people. He did not want to accept the millions of
dollars that were offered to him for the patent of insulin, because he believed that the discovery
belonged to the world and not to him. He sold the rights to produce insulin to The University of
Toronto for only one dollar, and shared half of the money from his Nobel Prize with his assistant.
Frederick Banting did not chase after money or recognition. Everything he did, he did for the well
being of others, and after years of hard work, he died serving his country

Stethoscope Disinfection Paper
Stethoscope is one of the most commonly used medical devices on a clinical setting, the environment
of which is often represented a potential vector for hospital acquired infections. Scholars highlights
that the sterilization of invasive equipments and the disinfection of any kind of devices before the
interventions are generally ignored (Kilic et al., 2011). Among those devices, stethoscope is the widely
used equipment with the most possibility of contamination of transmitted organism. Researchers
emphasize that the increasing proliferation of infection required diligent hygiene of both hands and
instruments between patients to reduce hospital acquired infections (Shaw and Cooper, 2014).
Therefore, a survey is being conducted with a brief nurse directed questionnaire to review perceived
reasons for stethoscope antisepsis non compliance and stethoscope antisepsis compliance. The
purpose of this project is to improve compliance with stethoscope care before and after patient contact

An Appropriate Plan Of Care For A Patient
Determining what is considered an appropriate plan of care for a patient has always been an area that
has taken on large ethical consideration, especially when the patient does not see eye to eye with
health professionals in the suggested direction of care. Having a congenital disorder resulting in
intellectual and developmental delays has the ability to impact the way an individual may process
information. Once this part of an individual s mental capacity is impaired, it may significantly
influence the extent to which this person is able to make rational decisions, especially if they are not
aware of the potential consequences of their actions. Taking a paternalistic perspective, and choosing
to intervene through abortion and sterilization is the proper solution, as it will likely result in more
good for Kelly in the long run, than it will if is allowed to continue with the pregnancy, and raise the
child.
Argument
According to Gerald Dworkin (1971), paternalism is defined as the interference with a person s liberty
of action justified by reasons referring exclusively to the welfare, good, happiness, needs, interests, or
values of the person being coerced (Yeo Moorhouse, 2011, p.114). This holds the idea that one may
interfere with the freedom of other people for their own good, so long as there is proof of justification
for such actions. Dworkin further developed his idea by stating that there are only two situations in
which you can interfere with someone for

The Importance Of Gun Violence In The United States
America s gun violence rate has been alarmingly increasing since the 90s and has continued
throughout the years. Although guns may save lives, evidence shows that in the United States, thieves
are more likely to steal guns and misuse them. Due to lack of gun control found in nearly fifty percent
of the states, citizens misuse guns for other reasons. Since 2012, there have been gun sales spiking
across the U.S. Every year, America s minimum increase in gun sales is five percent. The American
government should raise gun laws to reduce gun violence, which leads to death. Opponents might
argue that owning a gun reduces their chances of injury. Opponents might also say that guns are useful
for self defense. However, evidence shows an increasing number in the misuse of guns for damage.

negotiation exercises. There will be a particular focus on preparation of strategies, reflection of events,
self development and application of strategies for future exercises. Each negotiation was completed in

of the negotiation problems. Negotiation one was The Used Car scenario. We entered the negotiation
with little preparation or strategy planning, two dominate members from each team naturally took the

adopted a distributive bargaining stance which made negotiations strained and volatile with high and
low ball offers dissatisfying both sides. Both teams creatively used their knowledge in creating large
amounts of claimed value and creation of value. Knowing we had further dealings planned with the

Differences Between Platonism And Nominalism And Explain...
1. Platonists argue that the best explanation for why two red hats resemble each other is that they each
instantiate the universal redness. Are they right? What does it mean to say that something instantiates
a universal ?
In this paper I will explain the notion of universals, and argue why Platonism is the more correct view,
as opposed to Nominalism and Fictionalism. I will also clarify the major differences between
Platonism and Nominalism, and explain how they function as philosophical ideologies. Platonists or
realists in other terms claim that abstract objects are physical; that they exist in some palpable way.
Plato, from whom the term is believed to have originated, was with the idea that universals, like
redness , existed independently from the individual entities (particulars). Platonic realism states that
such objects do exist autonomously from the particular. Platonism is the metaphysical opinion that
abstract objects exist. Abstract objects are solely non spatiotemporal, they are also completely non
physical. Abstract objects are extremely central features regarding the context of philosophy. Abstract
objects are comprised of all the names and categories of things. These types are abstract. So, for
example, a chair is both the token (actual chair) and the type (an abstract classifying as such). This can
contain universals, numbers, and ideas like redness , concepts like courage and justice, and even
individual humans, such as John Smith. Platonists

The World Turns Michael Parekowhai Analysis
Shaded by trees and peacefully overlooking the Brisbane river, a five metre bookend in the shape of
an elephant stands, on its side, observed by the beady eyes of kuril. A bronze chair complements the
life sized, 3 piece work commissioned to artist Michael Parekowhai by the Queensland Government.
The World Turns was designed for the anniversary of the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), and
Parekowhai was one of three shortlisted artists considered for a piece that was to enhance Queensland

E.E. Cummings and His Wondrous Works
Edward Estlin Cummings was born on October 14, 1894 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Cummings
began writing his poems as early as ten years old. His unique ideas and various poetic devices that
were included in his poetry induced him to be one of the most remembered poets of modern day time.
E.E. Cummings was an intriguing poet that is known for many poetic ideas. Among them, Cummings
was known for his ability to create meaning using structure and his avant garde approach towards
language. In his work, Cummings experimented radically with form, punctuation, spelling and syntax,
which caused him to abandon traditional techniques and structures to create a new, highly distinctive
mean of poetic expression. By introducing this new innovative writing style, Cummings has
influenced thousands of poets to carry on with his expression, which is what he had hoped for.
The wide range of writing style that Cummings included while composing his poems gave him the
title of originality. While some of his poetry is free verse (with no concern for rhyme or meter), many
have a recognizable sonnet structure of 14 lines, with an intricate rhyme scheme. E.E. Cummings
poem, Fame Speaks, is an example of one of his more formal poems. The rhyme scheme is an
example of a petrarchan sonnet. The sonnet Fame Speaks talks about how E.E. Cummings wants to be
remembered as a great poet and not forgotten in the future. On the other hand, a number of his poems
feature a typographically cheerful style,

Quiet American Quotes
In The Quiet American, Phuong s character is seen but not heard. Unlike Adah, it is unknown if she
had a supportive father in her life. At the start of the novel, Phuong is introduced as Thomas Fowler s
lover; an English reporter living in Vietnam. I shut my eyes and she was again what she used to be:
she was the his of steam, the clink of a cup, she was a certain hour of the night and the promise of rest
(Greene 4). In this quote Phuong is being reduced to the sexual pleasure she once gave Thomas
Fowler. As a man, he had the power to subject her to such descriptions as she had no freedom to object
that sort of behavior. Being a woman, especially a colonized woman, Phuong experiences double
persecution. Throughout the novel she is spoken about in third person, as though she had no ... Show

For Phuong, her Vietnamese culture is compromised when she altered her physical appearance after
starting her relationship with Pyle. I saw that she was doing her hair differently, allowing it to fall back
and straight over her shoulder, I remembered that Pyle had once criticized the elaborate hairdressing
which she thought become the daughter of a mandarin (Greene 4). This quote illustrates how a man,
like Pyle had dominance over Phuong in such a way that she changed her hair and way of dress
because he preferred it that way. In Adah s case, mingling with the Western women around her gave
her more insight as to what her rights were in her marriage with Francis. Once she finds out that
Francis had been cheating on her she confronts the situation in an effort to protect her children. The
greatest mistake an African could make was to bring an educated girl to London and let her mix with
middle class English women. They soon know their rights (Emecheta 241). For Francis, Adah getting
a glimpse of the rights women had in England scared him and threatened his dominance over

Affluenza, The Truman Show
In everyday life you are exposed to media. The media uses techniques such as: propaganda, product
placement, and facts to alter how you view a certain thing. You may not realize how the media twist
and turns such little details to change your perception. My personal view on many things were
changed in time as little as a week. We watched Affluenza, The Truman Show, and many documentary
s that showed how the media can change how you think. One technique that many Medias use is
advertisement. They use advertisement to get you to buy whatever they are trying to sell. Most
advertisements use statistics that are realistic, scare tactics, product placement, and some even show
bias toward another. In the Truman Show, Truman s wife was advertising coco and a knife. She kept
repeating that, that was what Truman drank and used to cook with. She made sure the label was facing
forward when she was talking about it, this is an example of product placement. This technique of
using advertisement was to pull the viewers watching the show to go out and buy the items. They may
also squeeze in sponsors that you may not even realize. For example in the movie elf Coca Cola was
hidden throughout the movie, but was never talked about generally. It catches many eyes and
promotes the product itself without having to even mention it. ... Show more content on

rate of uptake of beliefs, ideas, fads and trends increases the more that they have already been adopted

have it. This technique causes many people to go and buy the new item because it s newer and They
will be accepted if they buy it . Affluenza also explain how people seek self esteem when shopping, so

Partisan Polarization Has Been An Issue For Many Americans
According to the Pew Research Center, partisan polarization has been an issue for many Americans
for a long period of time. Meaning, that those Americans are not in complete agreement with either
republican or democratic parties, their ideas, and standards. In response, the Pew Research Center
made an anonymous survey in an attempt to find and categorize people s typology. If one were to take
the quiz, their answers would create the their new typology and show how it may correspond with
either partisan parties. When I took the Pew Research Center quiz, I found out that I am in the Faith
and Family Left typology category. I agree with my given typology to a certain extent. Due to the
limited number of answers of the quiz and the way questions were worded, it forced me to make
uncomfortable choices, which weakened my ability to agree with my results. Although, the quiz did
include all government issues and involvements, I think the most prominent issue is foreign
involvement, specifically, the Islamic State in which the government will have to become more active
and continue to be involved in with the Islamic State. Faith and Family Left does, in fact, capture the
majority of how I view issues of politics and public policy. I do believe that government support is an
important role for the government to have in order to better the country. Next, it is said that the
majority of people who are Faith and Family Left oppose same sex marriage and legalization of
marijuana, in which

Five Creative Principles in Ancient Egypt
There are five creative principles in ancient Egypt which still have great resonance in current culture.
Each principle brings not only a greater understanding of yourself, but also betterment of yourself.
They strive to bring out the best in you. These principles are, autogenesis, renewal, individuation,
reflective speech, and complementarity.
Autogenesis, is enacted by many historical figures and events in ancient Egypt and early African
Christianity. Autogenesis is viewed as a rebirth of oneself, creating yourself out of nothing, or being
both your own mother and father. Being ones own mother and father can be explained by providing
for yourself. A major example of autogenesis is the scarab beetle, or dung beetle. The scarab beetle is
thought to be brought into existence by itself because the ancient Egyptians viewed baby scarab
beetles emerging from dung, with no obvious source as to their creator. In reality, the scarab beetle
lays its young in the dung, which provides perfect conditions for the baby beetles to hatch. It is
because of this that the scarab beetle is viewed as a symbol of autogenesis. The sun god, Re, also
displays autogenesis by setting and rising each day. Re recreates himself each morning by emerging
from the darkness. Along this idea of the suns journey, when the scarab beetle moves its dung it is
viewed as the same thing as the sun passing through the sky. Autogenesis is enacted in people to better
them. It can mean bettering skills, awareness,

The Beta Amasment For Nike Company
What is the beta measurement for Nike Company?
Beta measurement for the Nike Company, is a statistical measure that compares the volatility of a
stock against the volatility of the broader market, which is typically measured by a reference market
index. Since the market is the benchmark, the market s beta is always 1. When a stock has a beta
greater than 1, it means the stock is expected to increase by more than the market in up markets and
decrease more than the market in down markets. Conversely, a stock with a beta lower than 1 is
expected to rise less than the market when the market is moving up , but fall less than the market when
the market is moving down. Despite being rare, a stock may have a negative beta, which means the
stock moves opposite the general market trend (Macro Axis, 2017).
What does this measurement mean?

American Culture Vs Vietnamese Culture
The United States and Vietnam have almost opposite cultural systems under Hofstede s cultural
dimensions. There are four main categories which is a power distance, uncertainty avoidance,
masculinity or feminine, and individualism or collectivism. Vietnamese has a high power distance
when the US have much lower power distance. For instance, they respect others by their ages because
of their culture. Usually an elder man is the most powerful person in a family and a decision maker.
Parents didn t used to allow to speak up anything from their children and also some physical violence

They don t call other s name without Mr. Ms. in Vietnamese. Even for younger people, they have a
word for it. They have very interesting verbal communication style which is they avoid to say no in
their conversation because it would be disrespectful. For instance, if someone invites you to a party
and you won t be able to go, but still you should say yes at the moment. Even if they said yes, they
might not show up. The host won t get mad or upset in a situation. In their culture, it s better for them
just not showing up with yes answer instead of saying no in person because they want to keep their
face positively. They highly use an indirect communication method. Indirect communication method
is common culture in Asia. Still, yes answer which means no would not be acceptable in Japan.
Vietnamese also avoid to correct others mistake or praise only one person in front of others. They rely
on more non verbal communication than vernal communication. Men use handshake and bowing
slightly, but women are not very comfortable to handshake with a man, but it has changed for a
younger generation. It s not necessary to have eye contact like the US. They don t also use hand
gesture much. For verbal communication, it s very important for them to keep their tones. If a person

The Theme Of Empathy In The Ugly Tourist By David Wallace
Empathy is a human device that allows someone to put oneself in another person s situation. This
allows them to have a greater understanding or personal connection of someone s problem. After
reading The Ugly Tourist by Jamaica Kincaid and Consider the Lobster by David Wallace, the theme
of perspective, specifically empathy, is a vital aspect in both essays. Empathy plays a great role in
understanding both writer s perspective, which means to understand a certain point of view other than
oneself. The sense of empathy goes far beyond sympathy, which is just feeling sorry for someone or
something. However, being that empathy stretches to feeling sorry with someone or something one is
capable of sensing emotions of another. In The Ugly Tourist , Kincaid wants her audience to know
tourists that go to visit Natives frustrate her. She displays her frustration from the perspective of the
natives. In addition, in Consider the Lobster which is directed to humans that eat and cook lobster, to
understand the pain that these lobsters go through and believes we humans are cruel. Although The
Ugly Tourists and Consider the Lobster essays are similar in that both incorporate the themes,
empathy and perspective in their writing, they do so in different ways. Whereas, The Ugly Tourists
uses an aggressive tone to point out the native s struggles while in Consider the Lobster he uses
cultural practices of humans to makes his point of how empathy or putting oneself into different

Feminist Reading Of No Normal

Ms. Marvel: No Normal
Reading No Normal was my first ever experience with the Ms. Marvel spinoff, and I absolutely loved
it. I think choosing a sixteen year old, Pakistani American, Muslim girl as the main hero was a bold
move for the American comic book giant Marvel, but I believe it truly paid off. In Ms. Marvel: No
Normal, Kamala is a wonderful representation of female empowerment through self identity. The
main plot point of the comic is that Kamala, (a Muslim high school girl struggling with her faith and
identity) is asked if she d like to attend a party where alcohol will be served, which is a violation of
her religion. As she contemplates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this image also doesn t truly show Kamala as herself. Although I myself am a white woman,
I personally felt empowered when Kamala s father tells her, you don t have to be someone else to
impress anybody. You are perfect just the way you are. As she tries on her different identities, she
realizes that she doesn t fit into either image, both American and Muslim. Using her own wit and
motivation, she creates her own identity instead. I really enjoyed the representation of female strength
in this comic.
One portion of the plot that I thought was very interesting was Kamala s personal identity intersecting
with her sense of strength. When Kamala finally accepts her true self, she s forced to shrink into a tiny
version of herself. Although this was pivotal to the action packed plot, I thought this specific metaphor
was interesting. I connected her finally accepting herself, (for she hadn t yet, not completely,) to have
to being reborn, or a type of hero s journey where she has to reemerge as her true self, fully realized,
in order to succeed. It s only in the fifth and final volume that Kamala is capable of mastering her
powers, after being shrank. With Bruno s help, she physically, (and mentally) grows into a giant, her
truly realized, heroine form to save the day.
Ms. Marvel: No Normal is a great read that really connected with me. Kamala

Nicu Learning Goals
During the past few shifts, I have been astonished, and thankful about how often the nurses, doctors,
and respiratory therapists have been providing me with learning opportunities. I feel this is because
they have observed my enthusiasm and willingness to learn. For example, I asked a nurse if I could
observe her giving care to a 24 week old preemie with necrotizing entercolitis. This nurse explained,
that because of this baby s immature age, she had to cluster the baby s cares, and monitor this baby s
oxygen saturation. If the baby was overly stimulated her oxygen saturation would decrease, and the
nurse needed to stop working with the baby. This nurse also pulled up a PowerPoint about NEC, so I
had a visual of this baby s condition. She provided me with a NICU parent book, and I read the
section about NEC. This nurse said that she gives NICU parents this book to read, so that they have a
better understanding about their baby s condition. This is an awesome education technique that I want
to adopt. This is because the parents will hear the diagnosis explained from the doctor and nurse. They

Lithium Ion Batteries And Its Effects
Lithium ion batteries were introduced commercially during the early 1990 s as the desire for smaller
and more lightweight rechargeable batteries grew with the increased demand for the improvement of
portable electronic devices (Yoshino, 2012). Prior to this there were commercially available
rechargeable batteries already on the market, predominately in the form of lead acid (PbA), Nickel
Cadmium (NiC) and Nickel Metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. The development of the Lithium ion (Li
ion) battery began due to the knowledge of lithium s low redox reaction rate and high energy to
weight ratio (Wu, 2015), which, it was believed would make Li ion batteries a good option for
introducing smaller, more energy rich batteries to the growing market. ... Show more content on

Through the continuous research and development in the chemistry of Li ion batteries the components
have been extensively studied in an attempt to find the best materials to ensure a battery with a high
energy capacity and safety features. There are a wide range of cathode materials available for use in a
Li ion battery. Those with a good level of stability at high temperatures, insolubility in the electrolyte
and good electrical conductivity (Chakrabarti, 2008) being the ideal choice for the cathode. In general
cathodes consist of lithium metal oxides and these layered or intercalated oxides containing nickel,
cobalt and manganese are those which have been studied most extensively. Both cobalt and nickel
have a high voltage, making these metals excellent options for the cathode, however, the availability
of cobalt is quite limited. Manganese is a low cost substitution but it has limited cycling behaviour,
hence mixtures of these metals are combined to provide a cathode with a high thermal threshold, good
rate capabilities and availability with low toxicity and low cost (Claus, 2008). Recent studies have
highlighted polyoxyanion structures, such as Lithium Iron Phosphate, as options for the cathode
material, providing high electrochemical performances as well as nontoxicity (Chakrabarti, 2008). As
with cathode materials, there are many options for the material of the anode, with each providing
different advantages. The Anode requires a high and reversible

The 2010 BP Oil Spill In The Gulf Of Mexico We all know that people make mistakes, but are businesses making too many mistakes and not caring at all that they have large effects on people, the environment and many other things. Back in 2010 BP had an oil spill, in the Gulf of Mexico, which caused serve damage. Worldwide demand for palm oil has increased sharply over the last few years. With 54 million tons in 2011, it is the most widely produced vegetable oil worldwide. It has the highest yield of any oil crop and is the cheapest vegetable oil to produce and refine. Since oil palms need a rainforest climate consistently high humidity and temperatures and a lot of land, plantations are often established at the expense of rainforests. • 3. Free Will In Sophocles Antigone Antigone by Sophocles follows an adamant, strong willed woman attempting to defend her ideal towards death by providing her brother and a traitor to the state, Polynices, a proper burial against the positive law asserted by the King. In the play, Ismene, Antigone s sister, best exemplifies the suffering engendered by authoritarian repression and over dependency on the role of fate versus the role of free will. The ramifications pertaining to the characters subdued and powerless individuality presents a modern day parallel to the compulsion Syrian civilians are facing under the tyrannical rule of Bashar al Assad. During the conversation between Antigone and Ismene within the prologue, Antigone, resolute and determined, proposes to her sister ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The quotation, I m forced, I have no choice I must obey the ones who stand in power [Ismene, 78] is applicable to a modern day context upon considering the political scenario and civil unrest in Syria. Bashar al Assad, the Syrian President, is the equivalent to Sophocles Creon in the sense that they share ultimate power and authority over their people. The prideful exercising of available dominance over civilians forms another bridge between al Assad and Creon, which enables us to create parallels between those facing and accepting the repression. Al Assad s regime has been in power for the last three election terms. The reason for this is not his political competency but rather his dictating presence which has terrorized a majority of innocent citizens. Fifteen children in the southern Syrian city of Daraa had their nails removed by torture as they scribbled anti Assad words on their school walls. His regime has continued to kill hundreds of protestors who stood up for the students and has left many more scarred with fear and threat. Similar to Ismene s dialogue and situation during the prologue, innocent Syrians feel forced [Ismene, 78] and, despite living in a so called democracy, have no choice [Ismene, 78] but to ... The Alchemist Book Report Santiago, who is a shepherd boy from Andalusia, was sleeping near a sycamore tree in an abandoned church when he had a dream of a child who tells him that he will discover a treasure at the pyramids of Egypt. He told a gypsy about his dream and she told him that it is a prophecy and he should follow it. Then Santiago meets an enigmatic old man named Melchizedek, or the King of Salem. Santiago learns about good and bad omens from him and that it is his responsibility to pursue his Personal Legend. Melchizedek also gives him two stones called Urim and Thummim to interpret and read omens. Afterwards, Santiago sells his herd and buys a ticket to Tangier, in Northern Africa. While on the caravan, Santiago listens to the desert and discovers the Soul of the World. Once they get to the oasis, he meets an Arab girl named Fatima and falls in love with her. The leaders of the caravan tells the travelers that tribal warfare prevents them from going on with their journey. While Santiago was walking in the desert, he has a vision of an army entering the oasis. He reports this to the oasis s tribal chieftain because the oasis is neutral ground and attacking it is breaking the rules of the desert. Then Santiago finds the alchemist and he offers to cross the desert with him. The two of them were captured by Arab soldiers, but they would be released if Santiago can turn into wind within three days. Since he doesn t know how to do this, Santiago ponders in the desert and on the third day he communicates with the wind and the sun to create a huge sandstorm. The soldiers were awed and let them go free. • 5. Maggie And Dee In the short story, Everyday Use, Alice Walker uses her contrasting characters of Maggie and Dee to show a cultural split. Dee, the eldest daughter, comes home to visit her family who lives a very traditional way of life. Dee has gone to college and lives a more modernist lifestyle, whereas her sister Maggie has not gone to school and lives a more traditionalist lifestyle. This difference between the sisters shows the division in the 1960 s between a traditionalist and modernist lifestyle through her characters Maggie and Dee. During the 1960s some African Americans began to replace their birth names with names of African or Muslim descent, but what was the reason behind this change? In his article, Destroying to Save: Idealism and Pragmatism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This appreciation also leads to Dee changing not only her lifestyle, but several other things such as her apparel and name; which is described as stereotypically African. However, Dee s new found appreciation does seem, like Hakims, to be more of a fad. In Diane Ross s article, Everyday Use, she states, To Dee, artifacts such as the benches or the quilts are strictly aesthetic objects. It never occurs to her that they, too, are symbols of oppression: Her family made these things because they could not afford to buy them (Ross ). This shows, unlike her sister Maggie, Dee s perception of the quilts are strictly aesthetic and artistic pieces that reflect African Heritage. Dee never considers they may represent oppression themselves and it makes her seem as though she wants them solely just to show off. In addition, Ross goes on to state, Her admiration for them now seems to reflect a cultural trend toward valuing handmade objects, rather than any sincere interest in her heritage. After all, when she was offered a quilt before she went away to college, she rejected it as old fashioned, out of style (Ross ). This shows that Dee s change to a modernist lifestyle was influenced through a cultural trend. This also alludes to when Dee rejected a quilt before she went to college, but now that she has discovered the cultural trend of college, she wants one. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Christian Teachings on Poverty and Wealth Essay Christian Teachings on Poverty and Wealth Ever since the beginning of the Christian faith, poverty and wealth have been a big issue. Before Jesus was born, the rich would use religion to keep the poor away from them. The wealthy thought their riches were a blessing from God and that their faith and dedication was a reason for God bestowing them with wealth. They believed that the poor were not true followers of God and therefore suffered with poverty. They thought that the poor were not as important in the eyes of God. However, Jesus himself was born in a poor family and he was born in a stable where the animals were kept. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, ... Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. Luke 6: 20 and Luke 6:24. He believed that, You cannot serve both God and money. Luke 16:13. All men and women were equal in God s eyes regardless of status and wealth: There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26. In the Bible, Saint James said that the most important people in heaven were the outcasts of society making them one of the most loved people of God: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? James 2:5. In 1Timothy 6:10, Saint Paul said that For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Through this quote, Saint Paul emphasizes that monetary problems lead to most wrong doings such as stealing, corruption and gambling. Saint Paul did not condemn money or wealth and neither did Jesus but said that the love of money was wrong and this is what kept a rich man from entering heaven. Love, true love, is that not one of the most popular themes in any type of media? The most common portrayal of love is a forbidden love, but after that is rivaled love. Two people fighting for the love of a single person. In The Knight s Tale, Chaucer gives us this exact same theme. Arcite and Palamon, cousins, both attempting to earn the hand of the beautiful Emily. When looking closer at them, we can see some distinct differences between them but also some concealed resemblances. The most major differences are the way the view Emily and who they turn to when they need help. Moreover, the most significant similarity is the way they are both honorable and ... Arcite was in better health and more fit than Palamon thus giving him an advantage. Arcite could have killed him, but instead swore to Palamon that I shall not fail to be found here, on my faith as a knight, and to bring quite enough armor for you. (Chaucer 753) They both returned and helped each other into their armor, this is important because they both had the opportunity to sabotage the other but they choose not to. When they are found fighting by Theseus, Palamon immediately insists on being killed for his misdeeds, but also demands that Arcite be killed too. Palamon recognizes his just penalty and does not argue against it. After Arcite is wounded during the tournament and he becomes aware of his impending death, he calls Emily and Palamon to his side. After bemoaning his fate, Arcite turns to Emily with these words: If you are ever to be a wife, forget not Palamon, the gentle man. You do not have to search for the herb and boil it and make a concoction out of it. You just go to the drugstore, present the prescription your doctor gave you, receive the medicine from the pharmacist or his/her aide and pay for it. Upon reaching home, you just take the medicine. It is so convenient. But the recent experience of people taking conventional drugs is that they may lead to dependence on these drugs and larger doses may be required upon subsequent intakes. Furthermore there are bad effects in taking these drugs. These happen especially with antibiotic drugs. Stethoscope Disinfection Paper Stethoscope is one of the most commonly used medical devices on a clinical setting, the environment of which is often represented a potential vector for hospital acquired infections. Scholars highlights that the sterilization of invasive equipments and the disinfection of any kind of devices before the interventions are generally ignored (Kilic et al., 2011). Among those devices, stethoscope is the widely used equipment with the most possibility of contamination of transmitted organism. An Appropriate Plan Of Care For A Patient Determining what is considered an appropriate plan of care for a patient has always been an area that has taken on large ethical consideration, especially when the patient does not see eye to eye with health professionals in the suggested direction of care. Having a congenital disorder resulting in intellectual and developmental delays has the ability to impact the way an individual may process information. Once this part of an individual s mental capacity is impaired, it may significantly influence the extent to which this person is able to make rational decisions, especially if they are not aware of the potential consequences of their actions. Taking a paternalistic perspective, and choosing to intervene through abortion and sterilization is the proper solution, as it will likely result in more good for Kelly in the long run, than it will if is allowed to continue with the pregnancy, and raise the child. • 23. Differences Between Platonism And Nominalism And Explain... 1. Platonists argue that the best explanation for why two red hats resemble each other is that they each instantiate the universal redness. Are they right? What does it mean to say that something instantiates a universal ? In this paper I will explain the notion of universals, and argue why Platonism is the more correct view, as opposed to Nominalism and Fictionalism. I will also clarify the major differences between Platonism and Nominalism, and explain how they function as philosophical ideologies. Platonists or realists in other terms claim that abstract objects are physical; that they exist in some palpable way. Plato, from whom the term is believed to have originated, was with the idea that universals, like redness , existed independently from the individual entities (particulars). Platonic realism states that such objects do exist autonomously from the particular. Platonism is the metaphysical opinion that abstract objects exist. Abstract objects are solely non spatiotemporal, they are also completely non physical. Abstract objects are extremely central features regarding the context of philosophy. Abstract objects are comprised of all the names and categories of things. These types are abstract. So, for example, a chair is both the token (actual chair) and the type (an abstract classifying as such). This can contain universals, numbers, and ideas like redness , concepts like courage and justice, and even individual humans, such as John Smith. Platonists ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. E.E. Cummings and His Wondrous Works Edward Estlin Cummings was born on October 14, 1894 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Cummings began writing his poems as early as ten years old. His unique ideas and various poetic devices that were included in his poetry induced him to be one of the most remembered poets of modern day time. E.E. Cummings was an intriguing poet that is known for many poetic ideas. Among them, Cummings was known for his ability to create meaning using structure and his avant garde approach towards language. In his work, Cummings experimented radically with form, punctuation, spelling and syntax, which caused him to abandon traditional techniques and structures to create a new, highly distinctive mean of poetic expression. By introducing this new innovative writing style, Cummings has influenced thousands of poets to carry on with his expression, which is what he had hoped for. The wide range of writing style that Cummings included while composing his poems gave him the title of originality. While some of his poetry is free verse (with no concern for rhyme or meter), many have a recognizable sonnet structure of 14 lines, with an intricate rhyme scheme. E.E. Cummings poem, Fame Speaks, is an example of one of his more formal poems. The rhyme scheme is an example of a petrarchan sonnet. The sonnet Fame Speaks talks about how E.E. Cummings wants to be remembered as a great poet and not forgotten in the future. On the other hand, a number of his poems feature a typographically cheerful style, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each principle brings not only a greater understanding of yourself, but also betterment of yourself. They strive to bring out the best in you. These principles are, autogenesis, renewal, individuation, reflective speech, and complementarity. Autogenesis, is enacted by many historical figures and events in ancient Egypt and early African Christianity. Autogenesis is viewed as a rebirth of oneself, creating yourself out of nothing, or being both your own mother and father. Being ones own mother and father can be explained by providing for yourself. A major example of autogenesis is the scarab beetle, or dung beetle. The scarab beetle is thought to be brought into existence by itself because the ancient Egyptians viewed baby scarab beetles emerging from dung, with no obvious source as to their creator. In reality, the scarab beetle lays its young in the dung, which provides perfect conditions for the baby beetles to hatch. It is because of this that the scarab beetle is viewed as a symbol of autogenesis. The sun god, Re, also displays autogenesis by setting and rising each day. Re recreates himself each morning by emerging from the darkness. Along this idea of the suns journey, when the scarab beetle moves its dung it is viewed as the same thing as the sun passing through the sky. Autogenesis is enacted in people to better them. As she tries on her different identities, she realizes that she doesn t fit into either image, both American and Muslim. Using her own wit and motivation, she creates her own identity instead. I really enjoyed the representation of female strength in this comic. One portion of the plot that I thought was very interesting was Kamala s personal identity intersecting with her sense of strength. When Kamala finally accepts her true self, she s forced to shrink into a tiny version of herself. Although this was pivotal to the action packed plot, I thought this specific metaphor was interesting. I connected her finally accepting herself, (for she hadn t yet, not completely,) to have to being reborn, or a type of hero s journey where she has to reemerge as her true self, fully realized, in order to succeed. It s only in the fifth and final volume that Kamala is capable of mastering her powers, after being shrank. With Bruno s help, she physically, (and mentally) grows into a giant, her truly realized, heroine form to save the day. Ms. Marvel: No Normal is a great read that really connected with me. Kamala ... Nicu Learning Goals During the past few shifts, I have been astonished, and thankful about how often the nurses, doctors, and respiratory therapists have been providing me with learning opportunities. I feel this is because they have observed my enthusiasm and willingness to learn. For example, I asked a nurse if I could observe her giving care to a 24 week old preemie with necrotizing entercolitis. This nurse explained, that because of this baby s immature age, she had to cluster the baby s cares, and monitor this baby s oxygen saturation. If the baby was overly stimulated her oxygen saturation would decrease, and the nurse needed to stop working with the baby. This nurse also pulled up a PowerPoint about NEC, so I had a visual of this baby s condition. She provided me with a NICU parent book, and I read the section about NEC. This nurse said that she gives NICU parents this book to read, so that they have a better understanding about their baby s condition. This is an awesome education technique that I want to adopt. This is because the parents will hear the diagnosis explained from the doctor and nurse. They may or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During every shift, I ask my nurse to double check all tasks that I am completing to ensure that I am doing it correctly. For example, after I have tripled checked that I put everything into the IV pump correctly, I have my nurse check again. This is to ensure that all patients receive the safe care that they deserve. Not that I do not trust myself, but I am a student and I am not as experienced like my nurse is. I respect patient safety; therefore, I always have my nurse double check things that I have done. G. • 36. Lithium Ion Batteries And Its Effects Lithium ion batteries were introduced commercially during the early 1990 s as the desire for smaller and more lightweight rechargeable batteries grew with the increased demand for the improvement of portable electronic devices (Yoshino, 2012). Prior to this there were commercially available rechargeable batteries already on the market, predominately in the form of lead acid (PbA), Nickel Cadmium (NiC) and Nickel Metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. The development of the Lithium ion (Li ion) battery began due to the knowledge of lithium s low redox reaction rate and high energy to weight ratio (Wu, 2015), which, it was believed would make Li ion batteries a good option for introducing smaller, more energy rich batteries to the growing market. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through the continuous research and development in the chemistry of Li ion batteries the components have been extensively studied in an attempt to find the best materials to ensure a battery with a high energy capacity and safety features. There are a wide range of cathode materials available for use in a Li ion battery. Those with a good level of stability at high temperatures, insolubility in the electrolyte and good electrical conductivity (Chakrabarti, 2008) being the ideal choice for the cathode. In general cathodes consist of lithium metal oxides and these layered or intercalated oxides containing nickel, cobalt and manganese are those which have been studied most extensively. Both cobalt and nickel have a high voltage, making these metals excellent options for the cathode, however, the availability of cobalt is quite limited. Manganese is a low cost substitution but it has limited cycling behaviour, hence mixtures of these metals are combined to provide a cathode with a high thermal threshold, good rate capabilities and availability with low toxicity and low cost (Claus, 2008). Recent studies have highlighted polyoxyanion structures, such as Lithium Iron Phosphate, as options for the cathode material, providing high electrochemical performances as well as nontoxicity (Chakrabarti, 2008). As with cathode materials, there are many options for the material of the anode, with each providing different advantages. The Anode requires a high and reversible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Often times I would remain silent when issues were presented to me so I didn t fulfill the angry black girl stereotype they expected. I was aware of the insensitive things people in my class were saying, but I refused to address it because I was determined to fit in. My thirst for wanting to fit in went so far that I ached to change my skin color and hair texture. People within my community would tell me that I was cemented in trying to remain the docile black girl people wanted me to be. • 38. Mccormick Tribune Campus Center Case Study The McCormick Tribune Campus Center has two primary components, the one story building that has multiple different activities for students and guests, and the long stainless steel tube that is placed directly above the roof of the building. The function of the steel tube is that it is designed to greatly muffle the noise and vibration generated by the passing commuter trains. According to IIT, the tube muffles the train noise noise from an average 120 dB to about 70 80 dB outside the building, about 70 dB inside the building. Sound waves are caused by disturbances in the air. These disturbances are usually caused by a vibrating object. In the case of the MTCC, the CTA train railroad is right above the MTCC.
