1. The role of Social Work in India in assessing and protecting people in need.
2. The extent to which Social Work changed over the last 40 years and factors that contributed to some of these changes.
Sub-urbanization and new sub urban poverty In BangladeshSajedul Islam khan
The paper examines the features of suburban poor and present conditions of suburban poor people with reference to Savar areas. Data have been collected from twenty urban poor living near Savar Puroshova by using a semi structured interview questions for case study. The paper reveals that the poor men face more extreme poverty and vulnerability than women in terms of their economic, cultural and social conditions. The thesis also found that suburban poverty in the Savar areas was mostly affected by masculinization of poverty instead of the feminization of poverty. It makes a contribution to understanding and analysis of the phenomenon of rapid urbanization in the Third World like Bangladesh and its social consequences as the formation of frequent suburban mess hall like slums and new forms of urban poverty.
Finally, the suburban poor are largely dependent on their household, income, employment, medical facilities, and social networking. The paper also indicates that significant portions of the suburban dwellers are lived mostly in informal house and are living below the poverty lines.

Four Concepts Associate With Culture:
Cultural knowledge / the knowledge of cultural characteristics, history, values, beliefs and behaviors of another ethnic or cultural group
Cultural awareness / being open to the idea of changing cultural attitudes
Cultural sensitivity / knowing that differences exist between cultures, but not assigning values to the differences
Cultural competence / having the capacity to bring into its systems different behaviors, attitudes and policies and work effectively in cross-cultural settings to produce better outcomes

Racial profiling & stereotyping will be key discussion points when engaging and developing communities in public health practice and may be harmful because they can impede communication, engagement and development
Racial profiling / a law enforcement practice of scrutinizing certain individuals based on characteristics thought to indicate a likelihood of criminal behavior
Stereotyping / a fixed, over generalized belief about a particular group or class of people (Cardwell, 1996)

Robert Jex, RN, MHA, FACHE is a Trauma System Clinical Consultant within the Emergency Medical Services and Preparedness at the Utah Department of Health. He has been a practicing RN for 33 years with experience in ER, OR, Med/Surg/ICU, Nursery, Labor and Delivery, and home health care. He has a BS in Zoology, an MS in Reproductive Physiology and a Master of Health Administration. Mr. Jex is a licensed long term care administrator, a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives, and a certified trainer in Cultural Competency.

Assumption 1: Counselors will not be able to sustain culturally responsive treatment without the organization's commitment to it.
Assumption 2: An understanding of race, ethnicity, and culture (including one's own) is necessary to appreciate the diversity of human dynamics and to treat all clients effectively
Assumption 3: Incorporating cultural competence into treatment improves therapeutic decision-making and offers alternate ways to define and plan a treatment program that is firmly directed toward progress and recovery
Assumption 4: Consideration of culture is important at all levels of operation—individual, programmatic, and organizational
Assumption 5: Culturally congruent interventions cannot be successfully applied when generated outside a community or without community participation.
Assumption 6: Public advocacy of culturally responsive practices can increase trust among the community, agency, and staff.

Women have three distinct types of involvement: direct involvement in terrorist acts; enabling of others to commit such acts; and facilitating the disengagement of others from violent or extremist groups.
In a May 9, 2024 paper, Juri Opitz from the University of Zurich, along with Shira Wein and Nathan Schneider form Georgetown University, discussed the importance of linguistic expertise in natural language processing (NLP) in an era dominated by large language models (LLMs).
The authors explained that while machine translation (MT) previously relied heavily on linguists, the landscape has shifted. “Linguistics is no longer front and center in the way we build NLP systems,” they said. With the emergence of LLMs, which can generate fluent text without the need for specialized modules to handle grammar or semantic coherence, the need for linguistic expertise in NLP is being questioned.
