Editor's Notes

  • #26 Very crowded cities…. Very few people in the countryside.
  • #29 The BRG is also known as the “Queen’s Guard”. They have special uniforms and are only located at the palace. They are both an infantry and a cavalry.
  • #30 Traditional beefeaters were the special soldiers that guarded the Tower of London. They looked after the prisoners and also protected the crown jewels. The name comes from French, “buffetier”, which were the guards of the king’s food. For hundreds of years, these guards were paid with money AND with excellent portions of beef.
  • #31 People from Wales speak Welsh. It does not sound like English at all!
  • #32 Bagpipes are the traditional Scottish instrument. Edinburg Castle is world famous.
  • #50 This is the Rhine River.
