Hatshepsut Personality
Hatshepsut s reign lasted 21 years from 1479 to 1458 B.C. She was the daughter of Tuthmosis and
Queen Ahmose. The queen was unable to bear a son so Tuthmosis had a son by a second queen or
harem wife. This son, Tuthmosis II became the heir and inherited the crown when Hatshepsut s father
died. To continue the royal lineage, Hatshepsut and her half brother, Tuthmosis II married. They had a
daughter but she was unable to provide him with a son and heir. A harem wife bore her husband s son
and heir, Tuthmosis III. When Hatshepsut s husband died during his very short reign, Tuthmosis III
was still very young which made him unfit to rule. Therefore, Hatshepsut became regent to her
stepson until he was capable enough to rule on his own.

Compare at least four poems from the ones you have studied where a strong dislike for another person
is shown. Write about My Last
Duches a poem from Duffy, one form Armitage and another from the pre
1914 poetry bank.
My Last Duchess was written by Robert Browning and published in 1842.
It is based on a real person. Alfonso, Duke of Ferrara (1537 1597), married fourteen year old Lucrezia
de Medici in 1158 when he was twenty one. Three years later she was killed, possibly poisoned. The
Duke then arranged to marry the daughter of the count of Tyrol. As was customary at the time, the
marriage arrangements were arranged between the Duke and a go between.
My Last Duchess is a poem in which the appearance of the poem is ... Show more content on

Although we assume from the poem that the Duke murdered the Duchess the Duke never says
unambiguously or openly that he killed his wife or even got anyone else to do it for him. However
there are points throughout the poem that indicate the Duchess annoyed the Duke. He thinks that the
Duchess should be more dignified and not so easily impressed. Specifically he faults her for finding
equal pleasure in four things as if they are not at all of equal value.
* The white mule that she rode
* The Sun setting
* A gift of fruit from an unnamed courtier
The Duke emphasises in lines 31 33 that it was good for her to show gratitude, but bad that she
considered anybody s gift with his gift of giving her his family name which is nine hundred years old.
Frequently we find that the lines contain ellipsis, which helps to develop the poem how Browning
wants, so that we come to our own conclusion of exactly why and how the Duchess was murdered.
However
Browning places the Ellipses, and develops the poem so well that the conclusion is almost exactly the
same for every reader of his poetry.
The Laboratory, like my Last Duchess comes fro the 1842 collection. It has a similar subject a person
who is about to kill her rival in the presence of her lover who appears to be romantically connected to
the speaker in some way. It is in the form of a dramatic monologue, and again like the Last Duchess is
being addressed to a silent

Some Difficulties of Translating English Phrasal Verbs into Russian ANNOTATION Diploma paper is
devoted to a very current theme about the translating of English phrasal verbs to Russian. Translating
of English phrasal verbs is very important part of the science of translation because it couldn t be a
real good correct translation without correct translating of the phrasal verbs. The paper consists of four
parts which touch upon questions of the history of translation in Russia and its development, some
points of tranlsating theory, the consideration of some ways of the translation of English phrasal verbs,

To use the translation the speech forms in general use; 5. To reproduce the general impression in
corresponding key, produced by the original, by choosing and placing words correctly. In 1790 the
Englishman A. Tayler formed the following requests to the translation in his book The principles of
the translation : 1. The translation should transfer the ideas of the original completely; 2. The style and
way of the exposition should be the same as in the original; 3. The translation should be read with the
same easiness as the original works. The translation is the multifaceted phenomenon and some aspects
of it can be the subjects of the research of different sciences. In the frames of the science of translation
psychological, literature critical, ethnographical and other points of translation as well as the history of
translation in one or other country are being studied. According to the subject of research we use the
knowledge of the psychology of translation, the theory of art and literary translation, ethnographical

translation belongs to linguistic translation, which studies the translation as linguistic phenomenon.
The different kinds of translation complement each other and strive to detailed description of

Physician Assisted Death Ethical Dilemma
Physician Assisted vs. Natural Death; Ethical Dilemma In our country the premise of physician
assisted death conjures images of suicidal madmen, hell bent on death and mayhem. The reality is,
that could not be farther from the truth. So why is there a stigma on assisting patients with taking their
own life? Others look at this as a dignified means to those suffering a terrible fate. There are many
issues that weight heavy on the difference between physician assisted and vs. natural death. Is it cruel
to let a terminal ill patient who will suffer horrendously until nature take its course? Would it be more
humane to allow a patient to pass peacefully without the suffering or enduring painful end? This report
will examine physician assisted death ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Over the years since the first approval of physician assisted suicide, the opposition has challenged this
ruling, but in stance to find common ground, the Washington State Medical Association created 13

the article Finding Common Ground, By putting both issues on the table but not insisting they are
causally linked physicians came together to talk over a range of urgent clinical concerns and search for
common ground (Back, Colley, McGough, 1997). The future depends on finding that common ground,
though it will not be an easy path forward, the notion of physician assisted suicide will still present a
challenging fight. The ethical dilemma of this highly controversial subject will continue to split our
approach to the notion of assisted suicide. As we age, we come to terms with our own mortality, how
we choose to leave this world isn t always up us. For those who suffer from a terminal fate, maybe
they should have the choice, and those who understand their current condition can provide them the
dignity they deserve without repercussions. The only way we as a society can move ahead, is to find a

The Problem Of Eating Disorder Recovery
Maria and Katy Campbell were 11 years old when they overheard their father say to their mother,
Gosh, those girls are becoming young women, aren t they? They re getting hips. Devastated by the
seemingly normal remark a father would make of his preteen daughters, the twins made a pact that
night to help each other lose their hips , and lose their hips they did. For the 22 years that would
follow both women would advance their education to receive their doctorate degrees, and try to live
somewhat normal lives all while weighing less than 84 pounds and suffering in and out of eating

Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder distinguished by its psychological, physiological,
developmental, and social components. The disorder is characterized by binge eating shortly followed
by harmful compensatory behaviors, such as abuse of laxatives, diuretics or enemas, stimulants,
vomiting, fasting, or excessive exercise. This is known as the Binge Purge Cycle . Unlike anorexia
nervosa, those with bulimia nervosa fall within a normal or slightly overweight weight range and
usually perform their eating disordered behaviors in secret due to the severe feelings of shame and
disgust which accompany the binge purge cycle. Due to the intensity of the combined mental and
physical assault bulimia has on the body, complications of bulimia can stay with a patient long after
recovery is achieved. Such complications include, but are not limited to: Decaying tooth enamel (tooth
rot) due to the stomach acid constantly eroding the protective layering on the teeth; those who have
suffered from this eating disorder for more than seven years (the average time of recovery for those
with bulimia nervosa) have a great likelihood of rupturing either their stomach or

The Pale Blue Dot
As we often disregard or remain ignorant to our inadvertent or purposeful killing of our planet, Carl
Sagan gives us a lesson in humility and a reminder of our folly and obscurity as humans. The Pale
Blue Dot is where our species has lived forever, where we fritter our time away on things that in
retrospect were quite inane or detrimental, but made perfect sense at the time. War and overheating of
our planet we do a lot of unscrupulous things it seems, although in the end, in the grand scheme of the
universe it s all pointless. To those on Earth everything happening on our planet is relative. We are
conceited, thinking we are at the center of the universe, as if everything revolves around us, lured into
a false sense of security that we are special and help ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Images of the way we embellished our planet with innovation, love and courage were juxtaposed with
images of the blood, scars, and destruction we also paint our planet with. This video made me wonder
how humans will proceed in the future with the issue of climate change. Will we come to our senses
and mitigate the damage caused by our wrongdoings to our only home? Or will we continue to display
the human race as a contradictory race, one that is conceited and yet will be its own downfall? I
believe Sagan made this video to encourage us to look at all the things humans have done in the past
and remind us that we may be the generation that continues or exterminates our existence and renders
all efforts and history void. He probably wanted to remind us of our small, unimportant world and
how it s our duty to protect and sustain life on it since it is the only life we know. We are encouraged
to humble ourselves because we are not the center of the universe, and there s no one out there to pity
or remember the parasitic human race. At the moment our future seems

Youth America Narrative
It all started in 2016. It was a summer day in June at a camp called Youth America. That Summer day
started terribly. It was a burning day at Youth America and an exhausting day as well. We had to set a
slide up on a grass hill, this slide used mattresses, a pool cover and pool floats, plus soap and water.
We had to carry these items for a while. We walked carrying these items to where the coaches were
going to set this up. The coaches and the volunteers put this slide together on the grass hill. They used
this ramp from the storage room. They poured a lot of soap on it, then the water from the hose. After
building this slide, if we wanted to, you had to go to your cabin and get your bathing suit on. I did not

It was interesting how tough it got. After this terrible, great, bad, fun day we sat down and got calm
after the game, ready for a sermon. I got excited when I heard that Monica Pankratz was going to
preach. She walked on stage and said boys can you please exit to the right so you will have a sermon
outside with my husband. So right at that moment the boys left the room.
Monica asked everyone this who loves Jesus christ every day of your life? , and the room got loud and
quickly filled up with cheer. After that she had us take our seats and get ready for prayer. After she
prayed the worship team came up and we jumped up and worshiped. The last song was a slow steady
song, I mainly paid attention to the words. At that moment I got teary eyed because those word where
really powerful and really touched my heart because of the two deaths before and the word it said.
After we sat down and chilled. The title was Believe . Jaden and I shook our heads as if you were
saying yes and said ok in a confused voice. What the picture she put in our heads is that image if you
were a tree you need to dig your roots in the soil so if a storm comes you can stay on to him if he was
the soil. I took lots of notes about the sermon. The main key thing was about how we need to believe
in him and trust in him when we are going through something rough times, and we need to take his
hand and go through this journey with him instead of

Research Paper On Djinn
Nigh on a millennium ago, I was created. I was not made a human, nor made in the manner such
trivial beings come about. Instead, I was born a Djinn. However premature, let me intercede. The term
Genie is a title given to the whims of a literarily polluted culture, evident by how such a regal term
came to be the adjective for a blue a**. How such a blatant abomination occurred, I shall forever lack
the wisdom to know. The proper term for these beings is Djinn, as I shall refer to them, and, by
extension, myself.
I, as most Djinn are, was made from the primary elements which form the world; Earth, Water, Fire,
Air, and Metal. Yes, those initial letters are capitalized, for even the strongest Mage is incapable of

His part is to form the paint into a painting. He does this through a complex barrage of spells and
incantations to take the bare elements to a life. This is not done by giving the elements a form, for if
that mistake is made the Djinn is then left to stay in that final form, and (As this has saved me from
many a tight situation) shapeshifting is an invaluable tool. The Mages duty is to instill in the elements
a consciousness. A life. In doing such he leaves form to the Djinn in question. My inception was not
slightly different. Once given a mind, Djinn are immediately sent to the Other. (The Other is the
dimension in which all Djinn, regardless of power, reside. I will immediately forfeit any action of
description, for the human mind is trained to one dimension, and that is earth s. Deviation from Earths
will result in little worth the price). As one can imagine, those immediately brought to the Other are
not embraced, and are often treated as cannon fodder till they grow more experienced. I believe this
makes three, but once again, I

Summary Of Evil And Omnipotence By J. L. Mackie
J. L. Mackie s Evil and Omnipotence criticizes the argument that God exists by showing that religious
beliefs are positively irrational and that parts of the essential theological doctrine are inconsistent with
one another. The problem of evil is one of the oldest problems in philosophy. The problem of evil is a
logical problem for only the people who believe that there is a God who is both (1) omnipotent and (2)
wholly good; yet (3) evil exists in the world. If God is wholly good and omnipotent, then how can
there be a presence of evil in the world. Given the presence of evil, we must either conclude that God
does not have the power to prevent the suffering that evil causes in which case God is not omnipotent
or that God does not wish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, these solutions are only temporary or almost adopted by the thinker because the thinker may
not be consistent in their definitions and convert back to the old definitions. Therefore, these solutions
are not true solutions, so we must find another way to solve the problem of evil.
The next set of solutions are called fallacious solutions. A fallacious solution is a solution defined as
an argument which rejects one of the propositions but then, implicitly reasserts it later in the argument
to solve the problem. However, these fallacious solutions use an equivocation use of the words good
and evil , which cause vagueness about how good and evil are opposed to one another. Mackie notes
that these so called solutions may seem plausible at first, but, in fact, do not amount to a solution
which rejects any principle that causes the contradiction.
The first fallacious solution is that Good cannot exist without evil. The idea behind this solution is that
evil is a necessary counterpart of good. Without evil, there could be no good in the world. Therefore,
God could not have created the world without any evil in it because there would be no good. By
saying that God cannot create good without creating evil at the same time contradicts premise one
(that God is omnipotent) and premise five (that there are limits to what an omnipotent thing can do).
Mackie rejects this

By adopting elements of UCC, the Onling gaming community web portal can provide all the
information that users need, without forcing them to research external information sites, therefore
becoming far more self serving and robust. Web Portal Design Web portals in the past were seen
primarily as gateways as was stated earlier, thereby limiting the creative control administrators could
have over the design of the web site. Due to the shift in functionality of web portals however, as well
as the added value of UCC, it has become increasingly challenging to design web sites where users
can find exactly what they are looking for (Fang, et al, 2004). Prominent gaming portals IGN (Fox
Media, 1996), and Gamespot (Deemer, et al, 1996), display the attributes of good web design, limiting
the amount of useless hyperlinks, and utilises taxonomy for articles to make them easier for users to
access the information they need. Gamespot also allows for a degree of personalisation within the site
allowing users to select which background and forum theme they wish to use, whose selection will be
stored with the user account information, and this personalisation can help the users feel connected to
the portal, thereby ensuring their continued presence (Bellas, et al, 2004). A web portal needs

Powerful Female Characters in Theater A craving for life and the pursuit of happiness are concepts
everyone cherishes in one way or another. Everyone s goals and ambitions for the future vary from

The search of the truth and the power it produces cause internal conflict during one s pursuit of this so

In Henrik Isben s Hedda Gabler, he masterfully portrays the main character,
Hedda, as neither a monster nor a saint . . . [she] is simply a tragic character who is destroyed by the
unharmonious and irreconciliable contrasts in her own character. Ibsen first expressed Hedda s
emotional sterility by showing how she is unable to reciprocate in a relationship. Hedda s lack of
freedom to act independently in the society that caused her to believe that she would find an answer in
manipulation causes her to come face to face with reality. She is forced to realize that her efforts are
futile and her manipulation is only hurting herself. Like a young child, she can only receive without
knowing how to give in return. This highly intense interest with the lives of others is another aspect of
her emotionally empty life. While at the same time of investigating and analyzing other people s lives
is one way for Hedda to gain some understanding of her own unsatisfied self, she ultimately reveals
that she herself is very frail, fragile, and self centered. It is this indeed that puts Hedda on her path to a
tragic destruction, a path that is being taken rather quickly. Another way in which Isben displays her
thirst for more in her life is when Hedda burns the manuscript. Hedda feels that somehow destroying
something that she should have been able to create in the first place will make her feel

Porter s Five Forces Analysis
Value Innovation
We have all seen that despite recessions some companies grow in revenues and profits. Why is this so?
Until recently, the dominant theory applied to factors driving profitability of an industry was Porter s
Five Forces Model. As the name implies, the level of competitive intensity within an industry from
five specific sources determines attractiveness of an industry to potential entrants. Porter developed
Five Forces Analysis in response to SWOT analysis, a model he found too vague.
Porter s Five Forces include three forces from horizontal competition and two forces from vertical
competition: horizontally, the threat of substitute products or services, established rivals, and new
entrants; and vertically, two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If your customers rely on you to provide a tool or service that can be easily substituted with that of

Your Blue Ocean Strategy
Kim and Mauborgne argue that this approach limits companies to a fight over ever smaller slices of an
existing market and therefore revenues. This is especially true in economies with an aging population.
While these traditional competition based or Red Ocean Strategies are necessary, they are insufficient
to sustain high performance. They argued that companies need to go beyond competing, seizing new
profit and growth opportunities in previously unexplored ways they call Blue Oceans.
Competition based strategies, such as Porter s Five Forces assume that an industry s fundamental
structure is a given and firms are obliged to compete within existing constraints. To sustain their
position in the marketplace, companies sticking to a Red Ocean Strategy emphasize creating
competitive advantage over the competition, usually by observing what the competition does and
striving to do what it does, but better or offering a cloned product, but cheaper. Attaining a bigger
market share in this environment is a zero sum game; one company s gain is another s loss.
In an effort to explain why certain companies grew faster and were more profitable than comparable
companies in their sector Kim and Mauborgne advanced the concept of Value Innovation.

Apollo 11 Footprint Essay
The Most Important Footprint
Twenty Six year old Laura Polacek tucked her children into bed at 8:30 P.M. on an exceedingly warm
Sunday in July. The exact date was July 20th, 1969. Laura walked back into her cramped living room
to join her husband, sister, two cousins, and mother. The television was on Channel 3, broadcasting the
coverage of NASA s first Moon landing. Apollo 11 had landed on the Moon s surface at 8:18 P.M. Six
hours later, Neil Armstrong emerged from the capsule at 2:38AM, climbed down the modules latter
and became the first man to place his foot on the moon. Laura Polacek s recollection, nearly forty
seven years after the fact, of this event is similar to those who watched all over the world (Polacek).
From July 16th to July 24th, 1969, six hundred million people had their eyes on NASA; more
specifically, Apollo 11 (Reed). For this time, this had been the most people to watch a broadcasted
event on television ever. A combination of strenuous preparation and dedication made it possible for
the United States to be the first country to put a man on the moon. This milestone left a tremendous

Red is a color that evokes emotion and draws the eye, so in its sporadic occurrences, one s eyes are
drawn to the text in the ad and more importantly to the name of the guest star. The second design
element is line. Line is used in this scene to break apart the buildings and windows within, and really
focus the geometric shapes. Although the lines are soft and light in weight, aside from the outer most
lines of the buildings, which are hard but still thin, they are uniform in their clear representation of the
shape of the buildings and the windows. These lines depict a vertical and horizontal relationship from
the dimensions of the building and windows. From the angle of the scene in discussion, the horizontal
lines appear diagonal converging on each other at the corners of the buildings and windows. These
converging lines at the top of the buildings demonstrate a focal point brought upon by the location of
emphasis (Hemmis 2013). The lines of the building are enclosed to the achromatic background to
separate them from the background and divide the pictorial space. The only lines that are curved in
this scene appear in the ads and the form of the free falling man. The final element is shape. The
shapes in this scene are primarily geometric. The windows and the buildings are created by the soft yet
defined lines seen throughout the scene. Linear shapes are made by the convergence

Compare And Contrast Nude Vs Nude
Nakedness and Nudity are often used interchangeably. In Nude versus Naked, John Berger separates
them and finds distinguishable differences between them both. He had said that to be naked is to be
natural without clothes and pure in oneself and seen as such, while nude is to be naked but not to be
seen as one s self. All that is nude consequently, is considered naked but not all that is naked can be
nude.
Nakedness is the natural form of undress to be seen as is; while Nudity brings about implications and
accordingly suggests numerous underlying factors that add on to the view of the spectators on the art
presented to them. As we understand the view of art and in determining how one is Nude and the other
Naked, It is of necessity to understand a bit of background on art, how it is regarded and seen, and its
exhibition in the Philippines

The awareness of the idea of giving art its proper freedom of expression, only came into being in the
1900s. During the pre Hispanic time pottery, tattoos, textiles, ornaments, etc. were the art works
considered by most as art forms but were actually objects of utility and convenience. The creation of
these objects was a way of life rather than just something made for the pleasure of viewing or
admiring. With the arrival and influence of Spanish culture, the need for a venue wherein artworks
may be exhibited was finally introduced. It was the era in Philippine history, when the production of
proto art galleries had begun. If one were to find a venue that would be similar to an art gallery during

scene that the need for an art gallery inevitably

Breaking In A Glove Essay
I was five years old when I first put on a baseball glove. No, scratch that, I was five when I first
played baseball. From the time I could open my eyes and look at my dad, I was wearing orange and
black SF Giants gear. Once I had a handle on walking, I was learning to throw and catch. As soon I
was of age, my dad signed me up for T Ball and he gave me my first real glove. Not a cheap faux
leather/polyester mix glove, a genuine, leather glove. I loved that glove, and I held onto it for years.
During those years, I grew quite a bit and it was obvious my glove needed to grow too. My dad took
me to the local Sport Chalet and we started to look at the different gloves. My dad is a veteran of the
sport and we thought we would know which glove would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But any I tried on felt foreign, especially if they were already broken in. My dad and uncle both agree,
concluding that the gloves that were broken in had trust from other people already. Breaking in a
glove is a recurring rite of passage in a player s career. It s during this time where he becomes
acquainted with the glove, which becomes customized to the player. It is impossible to break in a
glove the same way as someone else. The shape of and way we move our catching hand, how we sleep
on it, what kind of practice balls we take, everything breaks down the leather and molds it to fit its
player. It becomes less of an extraneous object and more of a part of him.
In this sense, a player s glove can easily be seen as an extension of himself. When my glove tore, my
confidence in myself started to tear. When I can t trust part of me, I can t trust the rest of me. Players
don t like borrowing gloves because they aren t a part of them. It belongs to someone else and will for
years, both in the past and future. Gloves are not simply leather stitched together to protect a hand.
They are there to enhance the hand on which they are placed. But they can augment a player s skill, if

Summary Of Self Reliance By Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ralph Waldo Emerson was a central figure in the social movement of transcendentalism around the
mid 1800s. Transcendentalism is the idea of individualism and the belief that people should trust
themselves to be their own authority and not confine themselves to the conformity of society.
Throughout his works, Emerson uses ideas such as, individualism, conformity, nonconformity, and
persuasive ideas to express his beliefs. During the 1800s to speak out against traditional thought was a
rare and disdained action, but it didn t avert Emerson from elaborating his positions on individual
matters. He wrote many famous texts that are still relevant today, but in his work Self Reliance , Ralph
Waldo Emerson uses powerful language to produce a candid tone that persuades the reader to flout
conformity within our society; in hopes of empowering people to become more outspoken and not sit
in the shadows of social expectations.
One of Emerson s greatest tools is his use of passionate language throughout his work. His passionate
use of language and emotional appeal to illustrate his beliefs about conformity. When he states, Else,
to morrow a stranger will say with masterly good sense precisely what we have thought and felt all the
time, and we shall be forced to take with shame our own opinion from another. (Emerson 2), he is
referring to the audience s emotions when missing out on the opportunity to speak. Instead, another
person takes the credit for the same idea. Throughout life people hold their tongues when new ideas
appear due to the fear of it not being accepted or it being negatively judged. This fear fills many, but
the person who has the courage to speak his mind will have self reliance, and the ones who were quiet
will rue the missed opportunity. In the early pages of Emerson s Self Reliance , he refers to inner trust
and will power when he states, To believe in your own thought, to believe that what is true in your
private heart is true for all men this is genius. (Emerson 1). Emerson illustrates that there is nothing
more essential to life than one s self confidence and trust, for anything is possible due to will power
and determination. Emerson s tone through the early paragraphs of his text is very

Essay On Hippocampus
3. Review of literature
3.1 The hippocampus and Cognition
Hippocampus belongs to the limbic system of the brain. In 1960, O Keefe and Lynn Nadel continued
to investigate the functions of hippocampus. The behavioural inhibition theory was defined and
justified many questions regarding functions of hippocampus. Eventually their investigations have
been published an influential book, The Hippocampus as a Cognitive Map (O Keefe et al, 1978). The
spatial coding such as spatial memory and navigation is the functions of hippocampus are universally
accepted as with the memory theory (Nadel et al, 1975; Moser et al, 2008). Simultaneously full
fledged work was conducted to investigate the functions of the hippocampus related with anxiety.

The Death Penalty In The United States
The death penalty is an issue that has the United States divided. The death penalty is a controversial
problem in law that has become a popular debate among politicians due to its economical and ethical
issues. While there are many who encourage it, there is also a huge amount of those who are against it,
including myself. I believe the death penalty should be illegal throughout the country. There are many
reasons why I presume this. The debates against the death penalty are mainly moral in their character
that it is wrong to kill and when the state kills it sends out the wrong message to the rest of the

Causes Of Drug Legalization
In the United States, we have many conflicts such as discrimination, war between other counties, and
most importantly the debate of drug legalization. The reason for the debate/conflict on drug
legalization is because of timely matter. For an example, Colorado and Washington have passed laws
for the legalizing the recreational use of marijuana (Rosenkraz, 2016). The United States has been
fighting a war with drug for 41 years. The estimated costs so far is about 2.5 trillion dollars (Dovan,
2016). Therefore, that information shows why Americans are debating about the legalization of drugs.
Many Americans do not favor the cause of drug legalization, but there are minority who disagree. I am
one of the minority whom does favor the cause of drug legalization. My goal in this paper is to give
my opinion and information to show why I do favor the legalization of drugs.
In the article, 14 Years After Decriminalizing All Drugs, Here s What Portugal Looks Like, it
discussed how Portuguese government decriminalized all drugs. The country of Portugal has been
under the decriminalization for fourteen years now and stated that they have been doing better than
ever before (Zeeshanaleem, 2016). For example, there is no intense increase in crime for drug use. The
number of people arrested and sent to criminal courts for drug offenses declined by more than 60
percent since decriminalization. (Drug Policy Alliance, 2015). The number of criminal court cases

serotonin released is reabsorbed by the first nerve cell. Lexapro will block the re absorption of
serotonin into the first cell, which will eventually lead to an increased amount of serotonin to become

However, least did they know that laughter could provide a method for negative emotions to be
harmlessly released as laughter is therapeutic. Biological fight or flight response can be inhibited
through the relaxation resulting from a bout of laughter. Moreover, the capability to laugh is especially
useful for coping with major sickness and life s difficulties, as well as balancing all the components of
the immune system, which helps us fight off diseases. Laughter can not only help us in reducing
certain levels of our stress hormones but by doing so, it provides a safety valve that shuts off the flow
of stress hormones and the fight or flight compounds that swing into action in our bodies when we
experience stress, anger or hostility. The increase in the number of blood platelets and raise of blood
pressure were also caused by these stress hormones that suppressed the immune system. Therefore,
laughter is able to help us by increasing natural killer cells such as Gamma interferon (a disease
fighting protein), T cells, which are a major part of the immune response, and B cells, which make
disease destroying antibodies to destroy tumours and viruses. Last but not least, laughter also helps in
defending against infectious organisms entering through the respiratory tract by increasing the

Descriptive Essay On A Day In The Morning
The light of the new morning sun shines through the gaps of my ivory lace curtains. I can see the
almost too tiny to see specks of dust floating gracefully in the streams of light, it s almost like the dust
never moves, never settles. A quartet of petite sparrow s perch outside my window singing a
welcoming song. As I sat up in bed a waft of freshly ground coffee entices my senses. I open the
curtains, look out at the frost bitten grass, the glassy lake across the way and the white gradient fog
that has engulfed the tops of the pine trees. Slipping my feet into a pair of wool lined slippers, I grab
my robe and welcome my husband, Caleb, for breakfast. We scarf down our eggs and homemade
spiced apple oatmeal so we can get a head start on our day. The warmth of the heater keeps me
distracted, the warmth first thing in the morning is like settling into a tub of hot water after a day in
the cold; it is hard to resist. Eventually I throw on my clothes and accessorize myself with what seems
like a never ending list of winter must haves; a long olive green winter coat, a tan plaid scarf, a pair of
wool socks that line my brown leather boots, a pair of gloves, and to top it off, a olive knitted beanie.
My husband and I haul our luggage out to car that is crusted with ice. While he loads our luggage, I
begin to scrape the thick sheet of ice off our windshield. I m too much of a pansy and have to stop
every 20 seconds to frantically shake my hands in order to regenerate some heat

  • 2. Hatshepsut Personality Hatshepsut s reign lasted 21 years from 1479 to 1458 B.C. She was the daughter of Tuthmosis and Queen Ahmose. The queen was unable to bear a son so Tuthmosis had a son by a second queen or harem wife. This son, Tuthmosis II became the heir and inherited the crown when Hatshepsut s father died. To continue the royal lineage, Hatshepsut and her half brother, Tuthmosis II married. They had a daughter but she was unable to provide him with a son and heir. A harem wife bore her husband s son and heir, Tuthmosis III. When Hatshepsut s husband died during his very short reign, Tuthmosis III was still very young which made him unfit to rule. Therefore, Hatshepsut became regent to her stepson until he was capable enough to rule on his own. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Write about My Last Duches a poem from Duffy, one form Armitage and another from the pre 1914 poetry bank. My Last Duchess was written by Robert Browning and published in 1842. It is based on a real person. Alfonso, Duke of Ferrara (1537 1597), married fourteen year old Lucrezia de Medici in 1158 when he was twenty one. Three years later she was killed, possibly poisoned. The Duke then arranged to marry the daughter of the count of Tyrol. As was customary at the time, the marriage arrangements were arranged between the Duke and a go between. My Last Duchess is a poem in which the appearance of the poem is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although we assume from the poem that the Duke murdered the Duchess the Duke never says unambiguously or openly that he killed his wife or even got anyone else to do it for him. However there are points throughout the poem that indicate the Duchess annoyed the Duke. He thinks that the Duchess should be more dignified and not so easily impressed. Specifically he faults her for finding equal pleasure in four things as if they are not at all of equal value. * The white mule that she rode * The Sun setting * A gift of fruit from an unnamed courtier The Duke emphasises in lines 31 33 that it was good for her to show gratitude, but bad that she considered anybody s gift with his gift of giving her his family name which is nine hundred years old. Frequently we find that the lines contain ellipsis, which helps to develop the poem how Browning wants, so that we come to our own conclusion of exactly why and how the Duchess was murdered. However Browning places the Ellipses, and develops the poem so well that the conclusion is almost exactly the same for every reader of his poetry. The Laboratory, like my Last Duchess comes fro the 1842 collection. It has a similar subject a person who is about to kill her rival in the presence of her lover who appears to be romantically connected to the speaker in some way. It is in the form of a dramatic monologue, and again like the Last Duchess is being addressed to a silent

Physician Assisted Death Ethical Dilemma Physician Assisted vs. Natural Death; Ethical Dilemma In our country the premise of physician assisted death conjures images of suicidal madmen, hell bent on death and mayhem. The reality is, that could not be farther from the truth. So why is there a stigma on assisting patients with taking their own life? Others look at this as a dignified means to those suffering a terrible fate. There are many issues that weight heavy on the difference between physician assisted and vs. natural death. Is it cruel to let a terminal ill patient who will suffer horrendously until nature take its course? The future depends on finding that common ground, though it will not be an easy path forward, the notion of physician assisted suicide will still present a challenging fight. The ethical dilemma of this highly controversial subject will continue to split our approach to the notion of assisted suicide. For the 22 years that would follow both women would advance their education to receive their doctorate degrees, and try to live somewhat normal lives all while weighing less than 84 pounds and suffering in and out of eating disorder recovery clinics. Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder distinguished by its psychological, physiological, developmental, and social components. The disorder is characterized by binge eating shortly followed by harmful compensatory behaviors, such as abuse of laxatives, diuretics or enemas, stimulants, vomiting, fasting, or excessive exercise. This is known as the Binge Purge Cycle . Unlike anorexia nervosa, those with bulimia nervosa fall within a normal or slightly overweight weight range and usually perform their eating disordered behaviors in secret due to the severe feelings of shame and disgust which accompany the binge purge cycle. Due to the intensity of the combined mental and physical assault bulimia has on the body, complications of bulimia can stay with a patient long after recovery is achieved. Such complications include, but are not limited to: Decaying tooth enamel (tooth rot) due to the stomach acid constantly eroding the protective layering on the teeth; those who have suffered from this eating disorder for more than seven years (the average time of recovery for those with bulimia nervosa) have a great likelihood of rupturing either their stomach or ... The Pale Blue Dot As we often disregard or remain ignorant to our inadvertent or purposeful killing of our planet, Carl Sagan gives us a lesson in humility and a reminder of our folly and obscurity as humans. The Pale Blue Dot is where our species has lived forever, where we fritter our time away on things that in retrospect were quite inane or detrimental, but made perfect sense at the time. War and overheating of our planet we do a lot of unscrupulous things it seems, although in the end, in the grand scheme of the universe it s all pointless. Images of the way we embellished our planet with innovation, love and courage were juxtaposed with images of the blood, scars, and destruction we also paint our planet with. Or will we continue to display the human race as a contradictory race, one that is conceited and yet will be its own downfall? I believe Sagan made this video to encourage us to look at all the things humans have done in the past and remind us that we may be the generation that continues or exterminates our existence and renders all efforts and history void. He probably wanted to remind us of our small, unimportant world and how it s our duty to protect and sustain life on it since it is the only life we know. We are encouraged to humble ourselves because we are not the center of the universe, and there s no one out there to pity or remember the parasitic human race. At the moment our future seems ... • 9. Youth America Narrative It all started in 2016. It was a summer day in June at a camp called Youth America. That Summer day started terribly. It was a burning day at Youth America and an exhausting day as well. We had to set a slide up on a grass hill, this slide used mattresses, a pool cover and pool floats, plus soap and water. We had to carry these items for a while. We walked carrying these items to where the coaches were going to set this up. The coaches and the volunteers put this slide together on the grass hill. So right at that moment the boys left the room. Monica asked everyone this who loves Jesus christ every day of your life? , and the room got loud and quickly filled up with cheer. After that she had us take our seats and get ready for prayer. After she prayed the worship team came up and we jumped up and worshiped. • 10. Research Paper On Djinn Nigh on a millennium ago, I was created. I was not made a human, nor made in the manner such trivial beings come about. Instead, I was born a Djinn. However premature, let me intercede. The term Genie is a title given to the whims of a literarily polluted culture, evident by how such a regal term came to be the adjective for a blue a**. How such a blatant abomination occurred, I shall forever lack the wisdom to know. The proper term for these beings is Djinn, as I shall refer to them, and, by extension, myself. His part is to form the paint into a painting. He does this through a complex barrage of spells and incantations to take the bare elements to a life. The Mages duty is to instill in the elements a consciousness. A life. In doing such he leaves form to the Djinn in question. My inception was not slightly different. Once given a mind, Djinn are immediately sent to the Other. (The Other is the dimension in which all Djinn, regardless of power, reside. I will immediately forfeit any action of description, for the human mind is trained to one dimension, and that is earth s. Deviation from Earths will result in little worth the price). • 11. Summary Of Evil And Omnipotence By J. L. Mackie J. L. Mackie s Evil and Omnipotence criticizes the argument that God exists by showing that religious beliefs are positively irrational and that parts of the essential theological doctrine are inconsistent with one another. The problem of evil is one of the oldest problems in philosophy. The problem of evil is a logical problem for only the people who believe that there is a God who is both (1) omnipotent and (2) wholly good; yet (3) evil exists in the world. If God is wholly good and omnipotent, then how can there be a presence of evil in the world. Given the presence of evil, we must either conclude that God does not have the power to prevent the suffering that evil causes in which case God is not omnipotent or that God does not wish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, these solutions are only temporary or almost adopted by the thinker because the thinker may not be consistent in their definitions and convert back to the old definitions. Therefore, these solutions are not true solutions, so we must find another way to solve the problem of evil. The next set of solutions are called fallacious solutions. A fallacious solution is a solution defined as an argument which rejects one of the propositions but then, implicitly reasserts it later in the argument to solve the problem. However, these fallacious solutions use an equivocation use of the words good and evil , which cause vagueness about how good and evil are opposed to one another. Mackie notes that these so called solutions may seem plausible at first, but, in fact, do not amount to a solution which rejects any principle that causes the contradiction. The first fallacious solution is that Good cannot exist without evil. The idea behind this solution is that evil is a necessary counterpart of good. Without evil, there could be no good in the world. Therefore, God could not have created the world without any evil in it because there would be no good. By saying that God cannot create good without creating evil at the same time contradicts premise one (that God is omnipotent) and premise five (that there are limits to what an omnipotent thing can do). Mackie rejects this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By adopting elements of UCC, the Onling gaming community web portal can provide all the information that users need, without forcing them to research external information sites, therefore becoming far more self serving and robust. Web Portal Design Web portals in the past were seen primarily as gateways as was stated earlier, thereby limiting the creative control administrators could have over the design of the web site. Due to the shift in functionality of web portals however, as well as the added value of UCC, it has become increasingly challenging to design web sites where users can find exactly what they are looking for (Fang, et al, 2004). Prominent gaming portals IGN (Fox Media, 1996), and Gamespot (Deemer, et al, 1996), display the attributes of good web design, limiting the amount of useless hyperlinks, and utilises taxonomy for articles to make them easier for users to access the information they need. Gamespot also allows for a degree of personalisation within the site allowing users to select which background and forum theme they wish to use, whose selection will be stored with the user account information, and this personalisation can help the users feel connected to the portal, thereby ensuring their continued presence (Bellas, et al, 2004). Everyone s goals and ambitions for the future vary from one to the next, yet each person shares a common bond, each hope for their own personal happiness. The search of the truth and the power it produces cause internal conflict during one s pursuit of this so called happiness. The search for this is not made without obstacles along the way. In Henrik Isben s Hedda Gabler, he masterfully portrays the main character, Hedda, as neither a monster nor a saint . . . [she] is simply a tragic character who is destroyed by the unharmonious and irreconciliable contrasts in her own character. Ibsen first expressed Hedda s emotional sterility by showing how she is unable to reciprocate in a relationship. Hedda s lack of freedom to act independently in the society that caused her to believe that she would find an answer in manipulation causes her to come face to face with reality. She is forced to realize that her efforts are futile and her manipulation is only hurting herself. Like a young child, she can only receive without knowing how to give in return. This highly intense interest with the lives of others is another aspect of her emotionally empty life. While at the same time of investigating and analyzing other people s lives is one way for Hedda to gain some understanding of her own unsatisfied self, she ultimately reveals that she herself is very frail, fragile, and self centered. It is this indeed that puts Hedda on her path to a tragic destruction, a path that is being taken rather quickly. Another way in which Isben displays her thirst for more in her life is when Hedda burns the manuscript. Hedda feels that somehow destroying something that she should have been able to create in the first place will make her feel ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Until recently, the dominant theory applied to factors driving profitability of an industry was Porter s Five Forces Model. As the name implies, the level of competitive intensity within an industry from five specific sources determines attractiveness of an industry to potential entrants. Porter developed Five Forces Analysis in response to SWOT analysis, a model he found too vague. If your customers rely on you to provide a tool or service that can be easily substituted with that of another tool or service provider, your market power is weakened. Your Blue Ocean Strategy Kim and Mauborgne argue that this approach limits companies to a fight over ever smaller slices of an existing market and therefore revenues. This is especially true in economies with an aging population. While these traditional competition based or Red Ocean Strategies are necessary, they are insufficient to sustain high performance. They argued that companies need to go beyond competing, seizing new profit and growth opportunities in previously unexplored ways they call Blue Oceans. Competition based strategies, such as Porter s Five Forces assume that an industry s fundamental structure is a given and firms are obliged to compete within existing constraints. To sustain their position in the marketplace, companies sticking to a Red Ocean Strategy emphasize creating competitive advantage over the competition, usually by observing what the competition does and striving to do what it does, but better or offering a cloned product, but cheaper. Attaining a bigger market share in this environment is a zero sum game; one company s gain is another s loss. The exact date was July 20th, 1969. Laura walked back into her cramped living room to join her husband, sister, two cousins, and mother. The television was on Channel 3, broadcasting the coverage of NASA s first Moon landing. Apollo 11 had landed on the Moon s surface at 8:18 P.M. Six hours later, Neil Armstrong emerged from the capsule at 2:38AM, climbed down the modules latter and became the first man to place his foot on the moon. Laura Polacek s recollection, nearly forty seven years after the fact, of this event is similar to those who watched all over the world (Polacek). Although the lines are soft and light in weight, aside from the outer most lines of the buildings, which are hard but still thin, they are uniform in their clear representation of the shape of the buildings and the windows. These lines depict a vertical and horizontal relationship from the dimensions of the building and windows. From the angle of the scene in discussion, the horizontal lines appear diagonal converging on each other at the corners of the buildings and windows. These converging lines at the top of the buildings demonstrate a focal point brought upon by the location of emphasis (Hemmis 2013). The lines of the building are enclosed to the achromatic background to separate them from the background and divide the pictorial space. In Nude versus Naked, John Berger separates them and finds distinguishable differences between them both. He had said that to be naked is to be natural without clothes and pure in oneself and seen as such, while nude is to be naked but not to be seen as one s self. All that is nude consequently, is considered naked but not all that is naked can be nude. Nakedness is the natural form of undress to be seen as is; while Nudity brings about implications and accordingly suggests numerous underlying factors that add on to the view of the spectators on the art presented to them. As we understand the view of art and in determining how one is Nude and the other Naked, It is of necessity to understand a bit of background on art, how it is regarded and seen, and its exhibition in the Philippines Art in the Philippines is often seen as a privilege to only those who are wealthy enough. The shape of and way we move our catching hand, how we sleep on it, what kind of practice balls we take, everything breaks down the leather and molds it to fit its player. • 22. Summary Of Self Reliance By Ralph Waldo Emerson Ralph Waldo Emerson was a central figure in the social movement of transcendentalism around the mid 1800s. Transcendentalism is the idea of individualism and the belief that people should trust themselves to be their own authority and not confine themselves to the conformity of society. Throughout his works, Emerson uses ideas such as, individualism, conformity, nonconformity, and persuasive ideas to express his beliefs. During the 1800s to speak out against traditional thought was a rare and disdained action, but it didn t avert Emerson from elaborating his positions on individual matters. He wrote many famous texts that are still relevant today, but in his work Self Reliance , Ralph Waldo Emerson uses powerful language to produce a candid tone that persuades the reader to flout conformity within our society; in hopes of empowering people to become more outspoken and not sit in the shadows of social expectations. One of Emerson s greatest tools is his use of passionate language throughout his work. His passionate use of language and emotional appeal to illustrate his beliefs about conformity. When he states, Else, to morrow a stranger will say with masterly good sense precisely what we have thought and felt all the time, and we shall be forced to take with shame our own opinion from another. (Emerson 2), he is referring to the audience s emotions when missing out on the opportunity to speak. Instead, another person takes the credit for the same idea. Throughout life people hold their tongues when new ideas appear due to the fear of it not being accepted or it being negatively judged. This fear fills many, but the person who has the courage to speak his mind will have self reliance, and the ones who were quiet will rue the missed opportunity. In the early pages of Emerson s Self Reliance , he refers to inner trust and will power when he states, To believe in your own thought, to believe that what is true in your private heart is true for all men this is genius. (Emerson 1). Emerson illustrates that there is nothing more essential to life than one s self confidence and trust, for anything is possible due to will power and determination. • 36. Descriptive Essay On A Day In The Morning The light of the new morning sun shines through the gaps of my ivory lace curtains. I can see the almost too tiny to see specks of dust floating gracefully in the streams of light, it s almost like the dust never moves, never settles. A quartet of petite sparrow s perch outside my window singing a welcoming song. As I sat up in bed a waft of freshly ground coffee entices my senses. I open the curtains, look out at the frost bitten grass, the glassy lake across the way and the white gradient fog that has engulfed the tops of the pine trees. Eventually I throw on my clothes and accessorize myself with what seems like a never ending list of winter must haves; a long olive green winter coat, a tan plaid scarf, a pair of wool socks that line my brown leather boots, a pair of gloves, and to top it off, a olive knitted beanie. My husband and I haul our luggage out to car that is crusted with ice. While he loads our luggage, I begin to scrape the thick sheet of ice off our windshield. I m too much of a pansy and have to stop every 20 seconds to frantically shake my hands in order to regenerate some heat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
