The magazine cover uses several techniques to attract readers' attention and promote the exclusive interview with Take That inside, including labeling it a "World Exclusive," using bold colors and fonts, and featuring a large photo of the band laughing and looking at the camera to convey a fun tone. 2. ‘Q’ is the masthead of the magazine, it is what people see in the shops first and has to be bold and striking.

3. The image is of the band Take That, they are all wearing similar clothing, and having them all laughing and most of them looking into the camera gives it more of a light-hearted fun feel, which gives across to the reader what the article about them will be like to read.

The left side third has lots of information, usually featuring contents in the magazine which isn't in the main image, to attract other readers in also, in this case, ‘GREEN DAY’ attracts the kind of fans for Green day, because normally fans for Green Day wouldn’t be fans of Take That, so the magazine is reaching a wider audience.

5. ‘Back for good?’ is a pun, because it is the name of one of their old songs, Take That fans would recognise this.

6. Normally a barcode would be at the bottom of the page, but due to the image in the middle taking up that space they change the positioning to more of a higher up position on the page.

7. Colours, Red ,white and black is the magazines normal colour pallet, however, adding the gold to this issue gives it a more exciting and ‘EXCLUSIVE’ feel.

9. Masthead is the ‘NME’ title of the magazine, it is large and bold. Making it instantly recognisable to readers.

10. The right hand side cover lines gives out more information on the contents of the magazine. Adding a wider range of bands to draw in more of an audience, also, by writing ‘Peep Show’ which is a TV program, it also draws in even more of an audience as a TV audience may buy it now.

11. The left side third had what is going to be the main content in this issue. ‘BETH DITTO’ and ‘KISS MY ASS’ are both in large font, so it is what the reader sees when reading this right away.

12. Image is instantly eye catching and controversial, With a fat naked woman on the front. With a Kiss mark on her bum cheek, which ties in with the Left third side quote ‘KISS MY ASS!’

14. Two men who seem to be well known in the music business, staring into the camera drawing the audience in.

15. The colour pallet changes throughout each issue it seems, but a lot of black and yellow is used.

16. Left hand third, is the word ‘DOWNLOAD’ it stands out to the audience and makes them want to know what they could download.

17. ‘Win a signed guitar’ for guitar fans.

18. Even though a free CD is available, in some places it isn't, therefore they make a little joke in small print where the CD should be.

19. A picture of the iconic star Ozzy Osborne. Pointing into the camera and staring. Even though he has glasses on (the glasses he is well known for) he still connects with the audience.

20. Plug on the front page, telling the readers who will be starring in the magazine, widening the audience slightly.
