Vipaka comes under the five concepts under the study of a dravya (Rasapanchakas). In Ayurveda the digestion & metabolism of any substance is explained in two stages:
Avasthapaka
Nishtapaka
Avasthapaka is the first phase considered as digestion.
In charaka the word “prapaka” is used as the synonym for avasthapaka.
Nishtapka or Vipaka is the second phase and considered as metabolism.

Sandhāna Kalpana is an Alcoholic or Acidic Medicinal preparations of Ayurvedic Pharmaceuticals, It involves the process of fermentation where the 'dravadravya' (kwātha, swarasa or liquid preparation), 'madhura dravya' (jaggery, honey or sugar), 'praksepa dravya' (fine powders of medicinal drugs) and 'sandhäna dravya' (dhātaki puspa, madhuka puspa as fermentation initiators) are put together in an inert vessel (mud pot) and sealed for a specified time period to facilitate the process of fermentation Madhya (Alcoholic) and Shukti (Acedic) are the two basic types of this process
For student of Rasa shastra it is important to be well versed with the knowledge of Paribhasa i.e definitions. As paribhasa itself is vast subject, an attempt is made by these series of presentations to bring the knowledge easily available to learners.
This is the second part of presentation regarding definitions in Rasa shastra. An attempt is made to clarify the definitions in more clear way also useful images are added to further improvise the presentation.

Pregnancy is considered to be an important phase in woman’s life. During the nine months journey, the pregnant lady goes through certain mild illnesses such as nausea and vomiting in the first trimester. Other garbhopdrava’s such as fever, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, constipation and miscarriage can occur during pregnancy. Ayurveda has given prime importance to antenatal care as women gives birth to a new life. Antenatal care helps to assess and improve the wellbeing of the mother and the baby throughout the pregnancy. It helps to reduce the risks and other complications that arise during pregnancy. In ayurveda, the care of the pregnant lady and the new born baby has been well explained in Samhita’s. Also, ayurveda has mentioned certain formulations which can reduce the symptoms that occur during the phase of pregnancy. One such formulation is garbhapal rasa which is mentioned in rasatantrasara siddhaprayoga sangraha which counteracts the minor ailments during pregnancy and prevents miscarriage and ensures better nourishment to the fetus. In this study, we will review on the application of garbhapal rasa in pregnancy.
Living healthy is the prime motto of this era but increased use of antibiotics and immuno- suppressive drugs, sedentary life, the quality of life get affected. Many kalpas have been described in Rasashastra for the conservation of immunity, physical and pshycological state of the body. In the field Rasayana, Gandhaka holds top after Parada. It possess ‘Katu’ rasa, ‘Ushna’ virya and Pachaka karma. Sudha Gandhaka when consume for many days with suitable adjuvant will provide good eye sight and improves jataragni. It is a good Rasyana also. Acharya Charaka has described Rasayana as a means to promote vigor and health which is mainly virilific and promotive of vitality. In the eighth chapter of Rasatarangini mentions 10 Gandhaka Kalpas. By judicious use of these kalpas, the person attains divyadrishti (sharp eye sight), suvarna kaya (golden radiance in the body), virya (high virility) and shaurya (physical strength) even in aged persons, vajra kaya (sturdy body), cures vali and palita roga (hair fall and hair greying), and also cures many of the chronic Kaphaja, Vataja and Pittaja rogas.

Flu Vaccine Alert in Bangalore Karnatakaaddon Scans
As flu season approaches, health officials in Bangalore, Karnataka, are urging residents to get their flu vaccinations. The seasonal flu, while common, can lead to severe health complications, particularly for vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions.
Dr. Vidisha Kumari, a leading epidemiologist in Bangalore, emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated. "The flu vaccine is our best defense against the influenza virus. It not only protects individuals but also helps prevent the spread of the virus in our communities," he says.
This year, the flu season is expected to coincide with a potential increase in other respiratory illnesses. The Karnataka Health Department has launched an awareness campaign highlighting the significance of flu vaccinations. They have set up multiple vaccination centers across Bangalore, making it convenient for residents to receive their shots.
To encourage widespread vaccination, the government is also collaborating with local schools, workplaces, and community centers to facilitate vaccination drives. Special attention is being given to ensuring that the vaccine is accessible to all, including marginalized communities who may have limited access to healthcare.
Residents are reminded that the flu vaccine is safe and effective. Common side effects are mild and may include soreness at the injection site, mild fever, or muscle aches. These side effects are generally short-lived and far less severe than the flu itself.
Healthcare providers are also stressing the importance of continuing COVID-19 precautions. Wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, and maintaining social distancing are still crucial, especially in crowded places.
Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. Together, we can help keep Bangalore healthy and safe this flu season. For more information on vaccination centers and schedules, residents can visit the Karnataka Health Department’s official website or follow their social media pages.
Stay informed, stay safe, and get your flu shot today!

Lung Cancer: Artificial Intelligence, Synergetics, Complex System Analysis, S...Oleg Kshivets
RESULTS: Overall life span (LS) was 2252.1±1742.5 days and cumulative 5-year survival (5YS) reached 73.2%, 10 years – 64.8%, 20 years – 42.5%. 513 LCP lived more than 5 years (LS=3124.6±1525.6 days), 148 LCP – more than 10 years (LS=5054.4±1504.1 days).199 LCP died because of LC (LS=562.7±374.5 days). 5YS of LCP after bi/lobectomies was significantly superior in comparison with LCP after pneumonectomies (78.1% vs.63.7%, P=0.00001 by log-rank test). AT significantly improved 5YS (66.3% vs. 34.8%) (P=0.00000 by log-rank test) only for LCP with N1-2. Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: phase transition (PT) early-invasive LC in terms of synergetics, PT N0—N12, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells- CC and blood cells subpopulations), G1-3, histology, glucose, AT, blood cell circuit, prothrombin index, heparin tolerance, recalcification time (P=0.000-0.038). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and PT early-invasive LC (rank=1), PT N0—N12 (rank=2), thrombocytes/CC (3), erythrocytes/CC (4), eosinophils/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), segmented neutrophils/CC (8), stick neutrophils/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10); leucocytes/CC (11). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (area under ROC curve=1.0; error=0.0).
CONCLUSIONS: 5YS of LCP after radical procedures significantly depended on: 1) PT early-invasive cancer; 2) PT N0--N12; 3) cell ratio factors; 4) blood cell circuit; 5) biochemical factors; 6) hemostasis system; 7) AT; 8) LC characteristics; 9) LC cell dynamics; 10) surgery type: lobectomy/pneumonectomy; 11) anthropometric data. Optimal diagnosis and treatment strategies for LC are: 1) screening and early detection of LC; 2) availability of experienced thoracic surgeons because of complexity of radical procedures; 3) aggressive en block surgery and adequate lymph node dissection for completeness; 4) precise prediction; 5) adjuvant chemoimmunoradiotherapy for LCP with unfavorable prognosis.

applications of Pathya
Kalpana
Dr Praveen Guleria
Professor

SKSS Ayurvedic Medical College Sarabha, Ludhiana
2. Definition of Pathya
The dietary articles and activities that do not adversely affect the
body systems and are liked by the mind are regarded
as pathya (wholesome)
Food articles and drugs do have a variety of effects depending
on the dosage, time, mode of preparation, geographical location,
the body constitution of the patient, and doshas.
पथ्यं पथोऽनपेतं यद्यच्चोक्तं मनसः प्रियम्

4. Aaharo Mahabhaishajyam
Kashyap Samhita Kh. 4/6
Ahara sthitikaaranam- cause of stability of all the life forms
Praninam prandharanam- sustains the life of living beings
Annamatrena narah kartum niramyah- with food alone one
can cure the patient
Bheshajoppannne niraharo na shakyte- without diet even
medicine does not work
Thus ahara is considered the greatest medicament by the
physicians.
5. Pathya as Kalpana is undermined???
Significance of pathya and apathya is well known
Kalpana part is often neglected
Taken as already understood by the patient or the
healthy individual
Most of the times the regimen is followed only in case of
panchkarma procedures
In routine setups the patient is just told to have a light
diet…. The jurisdiction of lightness left to the patient and
attendants
6. The reach of
Pathya kalpana
Besides the pharmacy, the kitchen of any indoor
hospital should be fortified with the basic drugs
along with a person having the desired
knowledge of the pathya kalpas as well as the
drugs and their properties
For the students of Ayurveda the concept of
pathya as a Kalpana should be very clear they will
have an outreach to the basic pharmacy in every
home : the kitchen, fortifying the traditional
preparations with the classical ayurvedic
knowledge can play a key role in maintaining as
well as regaining the health
7. The Concept of Agni
बलमारोग्यमायुश्चिाणाश्चाग्नौिप्रतप्रिताः।
अन्नपानेन्धनैश्चाप्रग्नर्ज्वलप्रतव्येप्रतचान्यथा ॥३४२॥Ch Su 27
Strength, health, longevity and vital breath are dependent on
the state of agni that burns when fed by the fuel of food and
drink or dwindles when deprived of them. [342]
तहिन्िनाह्यन्तरगननेःत्स्थततेः
Wholesome food (and a healthy lifestyle) is the fuel that
maintains agni (digestion and metabolism process), invigorates
the mind, promotes proper distribution of body elements, vitality,
complexion, and acuity of the sense-organs.
8. Agni status potentiated by pathya

As a small spark of fire gets kindled into a big and stable flame when
gradually provided with dry grass, cow dung etc. similarly agni i.e.
digestive strength in a purified person becomes strong and stable,
capable of digesting all types of food by sequential administration
of peya (thin gruel) etc.
10. Ushnodak=Boiled water???
Water boiled till it is reduced to 1/8,1/4,1/2 or
Boiled just to the boiling point

Yusha is used as a nutritious drink and as adjuvant or vehicle
(anupana) with medicines.
It is easy to digest and less likely to cause bloating,
indigestion and flatulence because of green gram and thymol
of ajwain
Can be used post-surgery, post-delivery to meet protein
demands when digestion is weak.
It contains less phytic acid so increases body's ability to
absorb iron and other minerals.
The high fibre and protein levels produce longer satiety times
by increasing the satiety hormone cholecystokinin. The
presence of large amount of magnesium makes it a potent BP
regulator.
