Gloria Steinem Believing In The True Self Summary
In Believing in the True Self, Gloria Steinem points out that something we are born with is different
from the others. Even though it might not be something fancy, we still have to admit to it because it is
the only way to find your true self and admit it. She asserts that we are proud of ourselves when we
believe in our true self. On the other hand, we might doubt ourselves all the time if we don t believe in
our true self. I totally agree with her ideas. Her first idea seems to me that negative thoughts can easily
change a person. For instance, I want to become a famous singer. However, someone keeps telling me
that I can t do it well, or I never succeed in this way. I probably start to think about those negative
comments. Even though I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, it must be something that we are interested. Because we are always willing to spend our time on
what we are interested instead of something we are forced to do, we always do it well. I think she
wants us to pursue what we want instead of what the others want. For example, I chose a major that I
wasn t interested at the beginning. My parents hoped that I could become an engineer, so they forced
me to choose engineering. I had to take courses that were advanced mathematics. Because math made
me feel anxious and nervous when I was solving a math problem, I definitely hated math. I struggled
finishing math homework and attending math class. I started to cut my math class. Due to that, I got
an F on the first exam in my calculus class. I started to think about what I really wanted to do instead
of what my parents wanted me to do, so I planned to change my major to biology. I had decided to
become a doctor because I wanted to make my childhood ambition come true. Since I had figured out
my goal, I enjoyed attending all my classes, and I got good grades. We don t have much time in our
life, so we should choose something we want to do instead of something the others want me to do. It is
really painful to do something you are not

B-2 Spirit Bomber Essay
The B 2 Spirit Bomber is a stealth bomber plane that was created in 1987. It was originally designed
to be a part of, the United States long range strike arsenal. It was made to penetrate air defenses while
remaining undetected by radar. The B 2 has a wingspan of 172ft. It can fly at an altitude of 50,000 ft.
it is also able to fly at a top speed of 628 miles per hour. The B 2 is designed for stealth it was built
with a radar absorbent coating to preserve; another material is sprayed on the plane by robots called
alternate high frequency material. The B 2 is also a heavy hitting plane that is capable of carrying

maximum speed is 550 mph. It can fly at an altitude of 67,000 ft. It was designed to gather
intelligence of the nuclear testing of enemies. The plane was also equipped with high resolution
cameras to gather ground intelligence. The plane was equipped was mainly sent on missions to collect
airborne debris from the sky. This function was on the behalf of the Atomic Energy Commission, Who
wanted to protect the U.S from nuclear threat, and further research atomics. This was because at the
time there was nuclear testing by the enemies. The life of the RB 57 was short lived. With the creation
of new technology, there was soon no real need for the plane. When others like the SR 71 came out.
The new planes were able to do more than ThRB 57 could do and were able to do it faster. Even so,
the RB 57 was a great plane that will always be remembered. F 117 Night Hawk Stealth Fighter

Gene Therapy Research Paper
Gene Therapy Research Paper Gene therapy is described as the transplantation of normal genes into
cells in place of missing or defective ones in order to correct genetic disorders. 1 During the 1960 s
and early 70 s the actual concept of what is now known to be gene therapy arose. Many new practices
including the development of genetically marked cell lines and the delineation of cells transformation
by the papaovaviruses polyoma were in the works. Cloned genes became a product of this new DNA
technique and were used to prove that foreign genes could actually correct genetic disorders.2 This
new technology in the medical field has a wide range of uses that is constantly growing larger as
scientists continue to study and experiment with it. As of right now, the uses of gene therapy in the
medical field consist of replacing missing or defective genes, delivering genes that speed the
destruction of cancer cells, supplying genes that cause cancer cells to revert to their normality,
delivering bacterial or viral genes as a form of vaccination, providing genes that promote or impede
the growth of new tissue and delivering genes that stimulate the healing of damaged tissue.3 With this
information, a wide variety of genes are now being used for testing within gene therapy. In the mid
1980 s the first use of gene therapy was practiced and then seen in a four year old girl when she
became the first gene therapy patient on September 14, 1990 at the NH Clinical Center. This four year

Abstract
This operation improvement plan is to help improve the internal communication process at Toyota
between their employees and management. There has been a loss of ideas and knowledge, which is a
complete violation of their founding principles defined in the Toyota Way. With the suggested
recommendations, Toyota can once again reclaim its dominance in the world automobile market while
at the same time improving their operational efficiency and quality.

Toyota s Key Challenges
Toyota s information and decision making has been highly centralized. The result: Top management in
Japan has been less sensitive to the expectations of regulators, culture and politics in overseas markets,
and consequently, they have been slower to respond to local problems. The reality is that Toyota s
problems were not caused by a faulty production system but by poor management decisions (Cole,
2011, pg. 34). In the past, Toyota was a company that trained employees to embrace the Toyota Way
and pushed their employees to strive for continuous improvement and perfection. The upper
management at Toyota has strayed away from their core; founding principles that empowered their
employees and contributed to making them a successful automobile manufacturing juggernaut. A
major source for of their ongoing improvement and innovation has been from employees.
An analysis has been done for Toyota s management team, Appendix A, E and F, to show the root
causes and how these root causes affect the internal communication process of ideas, concerns and
knowledge between Toyota s upper management and its foreign based employees. To summarize the
problem into a statement: The Toyota Way and TPS places heavy emphasis teamwork, employee
empowerment and striving for continual improvement and perfection. To ensure these principles are
always understood and embraced, Toyota s management needs to be committed to making sure

Hamilton learnt the basics of English whilst attending school (completed Grade 8). Due to the fact that
isiZulu is spoken more widely in KZN, South Africa than Sesotho, it was not as necessary / important
for Hamilton to learn how to communicate in Sesotho, as much as it was for Sparak and Simphiwe to
learn how to communicate in isiZulu. Why are they acting / behaving in certain ways? During their
lunch break on day two, I noticed that Sparak and Simphiwe each had a brightly coloured blanket
which they wrapped around their shoulders. They sat down, flat on the grass, and ate their lunch
(consisting of spinach, potato and pap , which is a stiff, mealie meal), using their fingers to scoop their
food into their mouths. No other eating utensils were used. Simphiwe, the younger of the two Sotho s,
treated the older Sparak, with much respect. This was evident when I observed that he waited for
Sparak to sit down first, he handed Sparak his lunch, and he fetched water for Sparak to drink.
Hamilton joined Sparak and Simphiwe for lunch. However, he sat on a low wooden bench and he didn
t have a bright blanket wrapped around his shoulders. The lunch that Hamilton was eating was samp
and beans. (Traditional Zulu meal). Hamilton ate his lunch with a spoon. He did not eat with his hands
at all. The three men very willingly offered and shared their lunch with each other. I read up on the
manner in which the three men behaved and I learnt the following: It is part of

Adrenocorticotropic Hormone Test Research Paper
Why am I having this test? The adrenocorticotropic hormone test, also called an ACTH test, is a test
that evaluates the functioning of the pituitary gland in your brain. Your health care provider may order
this test if you have symptoms of either too much or too little ACTH. For example, too much ACTH
can be seen in Addison disease, where symptoms include being tired (fatigue). Too little ACTH can be
seen in Cushing syndrome, where symptoms include being overweight, having acne, and having more
hair on your body. What is being tested? The ACTH test measures the level of ACTH produced by
your pituitary gland in the brain. The test examines a part of the pituitary gland in your brain called the
anterior pituitary gland, and it measures how much adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) that gland is
producing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These changes during the day are called diurnal variation. What kind of sample is taken? How do I
prepare for this test? Do not eat or drink anything after midnight on the night before the test or as
directed by your health care provider. You may have this test both in the morning and in the evening.
This checks for diurnal variation. How are the results reported? Your test results will be reported as a
range of values. Your health care provider will compare your results to normal ranges that were
established after testing a large group of healthy people. Reference ranges may vary among different
people, labs, and hospitals. For this test, reference ranges are: Children, male or female: 1 week to 9

Asperger s Development And Social Behavior
Asperger s appeared first in the diagnostic manual of the American Psychiatric Association in 1994,
50 years after the symptoms of the disorder were described by Austrian doctor Hans Asperger. In
2013, Asperger s was replaced with the new term, Autism Spectrum Disorder (Delfos 2005). Many
people continue to use the older name. This replacement was the result of significant discussion within
the professional community as to whether Asperger s Syndrome constituted a distinct mental disorder
or whether it was a form of autism. Asperger s can be examined through many theoretical beliefs.
However, Vygotsky s sociocultural theory will be applied and used to analyze how a child with
Asperger s is affected through language development and social behavior.
Today Asperger s Syndrome is still widely known as an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Individuals
diagnosed with this disorder are generally considered to be on the high functioning end of the autism
spectrum. Children and adults diagnosed with this disorder generally have difficulty with social
interactions and exhibit a restricted range of interests and or repetitive behaviors (Delfos 2005). The
main difference between the two is thought to be in language development. Those individuals
diagnosed with Asperger s Syndrome typically will not have had delayed language development when
younger. Conversely, those with other forms of autism may evidence delays in language development
and greater difficulty in communication.

The Ethics Of Abortion And Abortion
The Ethics of Abortion
Abortion, which according to the Merriam Webster dictionary (n.d.) refers to any action that is taken
to prematurely end the life of a growing fetus in its mother s womb before it is born, is a very
controversial topic in our society today. Every day, several women die as a result of lack of access to
proper abortion facilities (Kaczor, 2013). It has been estimated that 2% of women within childbearing
age i.e. ages 15 to 44 will have an abortion (Medoff, 2013) and the yearly number of abortions
worldwide is estimated to be around 46 million ( Kaczor,2015). This statistic is further increased due
to the society s perception of the morality and ethicality of abortion. Pro life supporters argue that life
begins at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite this law, the regulation of abortion is still left to provincial government and this has led to
various interpretations of R v Morgentaler (Johnstone Macfarlane, 2015). These various provincial
regulations have contributed to the inaccessibility of abortion to several women across the country
(Sethna, 2012; Vogel, 2015).
Arguments from both sides
Pro life
The pro life movement believes in the sanctity of human life which they say begins right from the
conception of the child (Zuradzki, 2014; Seipel 2014). According to Pro life supporters, an embryo
has the right to a full moral status and right to life as any other human being (Zuradzki, 2014; Seipel
2014). Religion plays a big role in emphasizing and propagating the anti abortion movement and also
influences the views of several Canadians on abortion (Saurette Gordon, 2013). Religious views,
especially those taken from the Christian perspective, believes in the sanctity of life and views
abortion as murder which is a sin (Zuradzki, 2014).
Pro choice
Supporters of abortion rights argue that a woman s decision to abort a fetus is in alignment with the
right to freedom and choice (Seipel, 2014). They argue that the concept of whether or not a fetus can
be regarded as a person should not infringe on the right of the mother to make choices without the
interference of the state (Seipel, 2014). They also argue that the concept of personhood is subject to a
person s personal and moral judgment and that one

I discovered 11 new proteins which are decisive factors in the biological formation of invertebrates.
The functions of proteins allowed us to understand how a huge number of invertebrates interact with
the environment and how they respond to global climate change. Because of my discovery and
outstanding achievements in the doctoral and postdoctoral programs, I received President Award from
the University of the Ryukyus and many awards from international scientific forums. Using these
emerging environmental innovative approaches, I performed whole proteomics analyses in calcifying
marine invertebrates and discovered how and which extracellular proteins (e.g., ECMP 67) are
responsible for making calcite mineral in their skeletons and subsequently explored how some
invertebrates (e.g. octocorals) defy their environments (see http://www.asbmb.org/news.aspx?
id=14312 ; http://www.en.uni muenchen.de/news/newsarchiv/2011/2011_rahman_corals.html ).
Throughout my doctoral and post doctoral research programs following the environmental proteomics
approach, I identified key functional new proteins (including Ca2+ binding and glycosylation
proteins), genes and enzyme which are involved in the biological process of the chemical formation of
calcium carbonate skeleton in corals. These findings are very important for understanding the
biodiversity of ecosystems, calcification process, chemistry of the oceans, and environmental change

1. What is the r value for the relationship between Hamstring strength index 60°/s and the Shuttle run
test? Is this r value significant? Provide a rationale for your answer.
ANSWER: The obligatory r value is 0.149 and this r value is not significant since the p value for this
correlation coefficient or r is 0.424 which is extra than 0.05 or 0.01 and henceforth at 5% and 10%
both level , the null hypothesis of insignificance cannot be rejected and the assumption is the r value is
not significant.

ANSWER: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Besides the values are displaying a stouter association secondary to upsurge in absolute r value.
9. The researchers stated that no significant relationship could be described between Hamstring
strength indices 60°/s and functional stability. Given the data in Table 5, explain why not.
ANSWER: It is correct as the p values for Hamstring strength indices 60°/s and all variables remained
grander than 0.05. The p values were 0.08, 0.06, 0.424, 0.506, and 0.802. These p values do not
suggest significance at the 5% level. The r values among Hamstring strength indices 60%/s and
functional solidity all are not significant at 0.05 and 0.01 both significant level. Therefore, suggests no
significant connection and because of this cause, this can be conclude that not any significant
connection possibly will be defined among Hamstring strength indices 60%/s and functional solidity.
10. Consider the relationship reported for the Quadriceps strength index 120°/s and the Hop index (r =
0.744**, p = 0.000). What do these r and p values indicate related to statistical significance and
clinical importance?
ANSWER: These r and p values specify a stout constructive statistical significance, as the r value is
nearby to 1.0, and the p value is 0.0 0.05. Clinically this displays that as Quadriceps strength index
120°/s increases in the same manner the Hop index. It is very vital to instruct patients regarding the
significance of strength teaching and workout. The r value

from art to advertising. The second theme involves the use of technology as a way to empower the
person; its essence lies in the fact that the content of any message inevitably feels the impact of the

Counseling The Hood Case Study
Counseling the Hoods with Structural Family Therapy
The Hood family consists of Ben, Elena, and their children, Paul (16 years old) and Wendy (14 years

attends school in New Canaan. The family lacks structure and communication. Neither parents know
what the children are up to, as shown when Wendy asked for money to pay for her band uniform (Lee,

I would use structural family therapy to counsel the Hood family. This therapeutic approach is best for
the Hood family because it will organize the ways in which each family member react with one
another. The Hoods boundaries are enmeshed. Mr. Hood is very disengaged with Mrs. Hood, their
relationship is estranged. Mrs. Hood is dependent on Mr. Hood for happiness, however Mr. Hood is no

parents. They must develop boundaries that separates them from the children. They must also improve

a) Recipients and payers.
b) Extortion.
c) Lubricant of society.
d) An ethical problem.
e) Poverty reduction.
Recipients and payers
Corruption is the abuse of entrusted power and elected authority for private profit. Complaints are
often heard about politicians and public officials who accept bribes and enrich themselves privately at
the expense of the common citizen. This may be at the expense of the employee or the employer,
consumer and the producer, the renter and the tenant, the one applying for a permit or asking
exemption from an obligation to pay or to deliver a product or service. All the cases might be
considered to be abuse of power authority for one s own benefit.
Extortion
Most of them go a step further. They not only blame the politicians but also the public officials for
willingly accepting the bribes. They often allege that those having authority in the society ask to be
bribed or give an opportunity to bribe. There is no escaping from it, if one refuses to pay, you are
bound to fall behind.
Lubricant of Society
Many believe that paying bribe is required to ensure smoother operation of the society. They think that

Freedom of Women to Be Prostitutes Essay
For centuries, women have been selling their bodies, in most cases prostitution, but it is not world s
oldest profession. Nevertheless, for as long as history states, prostitution has been around for as long
as the oldest professions in the world. Every aspect of history asserts even the slightest things about
prostitution existing. Prostitution has been a long term profession through out several decades,
whether it varies from being an adult star, escort, prostitute, a stripper etc... As long as they pay their
rights as a civilian of the country (taxes and such), they should be allowed to do whatever they want

King Henry II set up laws on prostitutes must be single and had a weekly inspection at the brothel to
make sure laws were not violated. In Italy, 1358 A.D., prostitution was welcomed. In such ways that
brothels were built in major Italian cities, which were government funded. The Great Council of
Venice even publicized prostitution to be absolutely indispensible to the world . Over 1802, France,
monitored brothels were created. The new agency monitored brothels on whether or not laws were
followed and no criminal activity took place. This was successful for over a century. Up until 1971
Nevada legalized prostitution, even Nevada is not the most liberal area of the US. Other countries that
have legalized and currently regulating prostitution is Austria, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Germany,
Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lebanon, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Panama, Peru, Senegal,
Switzerland, Turkey, Venezuela as well as some Australian states, and Mexico. Prostitution does not
only include whores, but adult film stars, escorts and strippers. If for centuries it has been working out,
there is no reason for prostitution to still be illegal. See France in 1802, even back then monitored
brothels worked out even for over a century. With the security today and more advanced reasoning,
people today are more than capable to make things like that work. Even far back to the 18th century

`` My Dream `` By Brittany Maynard
My dream is that every terminally ill American has access to the choice to die on their own terms with
dignity. Please take an active role to make this a reality (qtd Brittany Maynard Fund ). Brittany
Maynard Diaz, a 29 year old woman who was diagnosed with Glioblastoma and only given six
months to live, turned her tragedy into a legacy when she chose to die with dignity. She became an
advocate for the Compassion and Choices End of Life Consultation or EOLC program by sharing her
story and decision with everyone in America in an effort to help give everyone in her situation the
same options. She believed in dying with dignity for the same basic reasons that many others do;
constitutionally speaking, it is within everyone s individual rights, it is an established medical practice
used all over the world, and no one should be forced to suffer needlessly. After researching her
diagnosed form of cancer and discussing her options with her family, any type of treatment given
would only destroy the quality of life during the time she had left to live. What would you do?
Imagine going to the doctor after numerous, severe headaches. The doctor performs a CT scan that
reveals a rapidly growing brain tumor. The doctor breaks down the information, reveals that the tumor
is a rare form of cancer, and is inoperable. Unfortunately, the doctor also relays the life expectancy
with a cancer this rare and aggressive; a few months at best and those short months will become
increasingly

The Cat And Mouse Gangs
THE CAT AND MOUSE GAME By: John Charles Roth So there was this cat in Chicago back in
1872 and this mouse and the mouse was a jerk and they kept battling. So naturally, the cat found a
wife and the mouse found a husband and more animals came and they formed the cat and mouse
gangs. And the gangs were both democracies. The cat and mouse who formed the gangs got elected.
They weren t really gangs they were more of battling societies so they both replaced the gang with
society. So they kept fighting. The everlasting war was a seesaw battle. The cats were winning. The
mice were winning. So we re gonna focus on a very important year for both societies. 1987. NO

Chemical Reaction On Chemical Change
Analyzing chemical change
Abstract
Changes can be chemical or physical in nature. If a chemical change is taking place we will be
breaking bonds and forming new bonds and therefore creating a new substance. In a Physical change
we will have the same substance but simply in a new form. (Dickinson et al. 197). In order to collect
evidence to prove a chemical change is occurring we need a change in the indicators. The more active
a chemical is the more likely it will have a chemical reaction with another chemical. (Dickinson et al.
180) The higher the element is on the Activity Series the more reactive it is. (Dickinson et al. 192) A
reactive element will replace an element that is underneath it in the activity series. (Dickinson et al.
192) In this lab we will examine chemical reactions with the activity series, indicators and the type of
chemical reaction it is. The purpose of this lab is to study chemical change and analyze why and how
chemical reactions are created. In this lab we are going to combine certain chemicals with each other
to create a chemical change and we will observe and record any changes. The chemical reactions
listed in the Results had all gone through chemical change and all the indicators have been recorded.
Chemical change is very important and we need to learn more about them because without chemical
change we couldn t perform daily tasks.

The debate of Physician Assisted Suicide
Over the years the medical field has developed many miraculous ideas and procedures. From organ
transfers to blood transfusions, tons of lives have been saved. A doctor s whole purpose is to help
those dying to live. Yet, doctors have developed PAS, Physician Assisted Suicide, also known as
Physician Assisted Death, and not to be mixed up with Euthanasia. Physician Assisted Suicide is
morally wrong, gives doctors too much power, and it opens a door for those less critical patients to
receive treatment too.
He started at a time when it was hardly talked about and got people thinking about the issue. (Philip
Nitschke, Exit International) The debate of Physician Assisted Suicide has been going on since over
2000 years ago during the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If anyone can ask for assisted suicide, then that means that the doctor could make the decision to give
anyone who asks for the treatment the lethal dosage of drugs. This could lead to the idea that anyone
who wants to commit suicide doesn t have to make the decision for themselves. If they ask a power
hungry doctor for their opinion, then it could lead to a death, when there could have been an
intervention.
Assisting in taking a life is unmoral. There are so many people just so broken and hurting that they
think suicide is the answer. It s not easy to overcome either. It s like an anchor that pulls you into the
darkness, and just keeps pulling you deeper and deeper. No matter how much you fight, pull, scream,
and cry, you can t get free. It s a feeling of total emptiness and worthlessness. Even once you re over
it, the thought still pops up, and it s a continuous fight. But, with love and hope, suicide can be
overcome, for, in the bible it says that, through Christ we are over comers, and his love is above all
else.
Finally, there has been questioning of whether or not critically ill patients should be allowed to be
physician assisted in committing suicide. They are miserable, and seemingly becoming a shell of the
person they used to be. Wanting to end life because you re not the person you used to be is
understandable in most eyes. Then, there is the idea that people have the right to die

The Three Branches Of Dictatorship
America s government is mainly consisted of three branches, the legislative, executive and the judicial
branch. The legislative branch makes laws, the executive branch carries out laws and the judicial
branch evaluates laws. With these three branches, there is a separation of power. There are also many
other kinds of government in the world, for example, monarchy, dictatorship, and etc. Dictatorship is a
form of government where one person, or a small group controls everything in their country. There are
many differences between a government where all legislative, executive and judicial power is in the
hands of one person or a single small group and a government where the powers are being separated.

In a democratic government, everyone has their basic rights and these rights are being assured. No one
s rights can be violated. The government would respect and listen to the people s voice. In contrast, in
a dictatorship, citizens rights can t be assured. People s right can be easily taken away. For example,
their right of freedom of speech may be taken away. In the old times, people can be executed because
they said something bad about their leaders. Through censorship, people s right is being violated,
because they can t have access to some information, like when China censored YouTube and
Facebook. Usually, dictator won t listen to people s voices and opinions. There would be no checks
and balances under a dictatorship. With checks and balances, the three branches can limit other s
power, which would cause the separation of power. Judicial review, overriding a veto and etc. are all
examples of checks and balances. All these action wouldn t be able to perform in a government where
a person or a single small group holds all the power, since only a single person or a small group is
holding all the powers and they can do whatever they want to

that many business are focused on efficiency and economic of scales. Just like the example provided

Analysis Of The Article Dear Students Don t Let...
Corrupt college professors are ruining students chances of getting a quality education. Students will
typically get that hunch that a professor might be out the get them, but in reality those professors are
actually out to get the whole student body. When these decrepit professors are in the classroom, they
are not hip on modern teaching methods. This is detrimental to a student who just needs a quality
education to keep up with the competitive working world that we have come to today. The article Dear
Students: Don t Let College Unplug Your Future is an effective argument to convince incoming
freshmen at Brigham Young University and current BYU freshmen not to let the academic tradition
get in the way of their learning by the use of allusions, colloquial diction, anecdotes and humor to
establish a bond of trust between himself and the reader.
Throughout the article Gideon Burton uses colloquial diction to put himself at the reader s level. Holy
trapped in old school , is a prime example of the many uses of colloquial diction that he has woven in
and out of the pages of his article (47). He uses this to have more of an effect on the expected
audience. He knows that the young college kids do not want to read ten pages of a verbose professor
ranting about how he believes that the internet is needed in college. He would have a limited audience
without the diction that he uses. This creates a bond between Gideon and the audience. His use of
diction automatically helps him to

The Holy Spirit and the Christian Mission
The Holy Spirit and the Christian Mission Introduction The Holy Spirit is one of the most important
concepts in the Christian world and every true Christian needs to have a complex understanding of
this idea in order to be able to serve God to his or her full potential. The Holy Spirit is believed to play
an important role in the Christian church s missionary approach. Many people consider that the Holy
Spirit is one of the best solutions to situations where individuals come across problems in
communicating to each other. The Holy Spirit makes it possible for individuals to refrain from putting
across confusing thinking and assists them in expressing ideas that can be easily understood by their
interlocutors. The Holy Spirit as seen from a general perspective The masses need to understand that
most ideas can seem absurd if the Holy Spirit is not present. Thus, they need to get actively involved
in introducing this concept in their thinking in order to express information that is as clear as it can
possibly be. Even with this, people should not abandon their need for information as a result of
considering that the Holy Spirit does all the work for them. They should create a balance between their
dedication to being believers and their thirst for knowledge. Some seem to imagine that if the Holy
Spirit is to be in full control, they must entirely eliminate themselves (Stott 189). The Spirit does not
attempt to suppress people s personalities, as it actually tries

Thailand. During North Vietnam s invasion of Laos, the U.S. CIA began recruiting and training
indigenous Hmong men to fight in General Pao s Secret Army. 60% of Hmong men in Laos received
financial assistance from the CIA in exchange for their service. After the takeover of pro U.S.

Hmong report below average English proficiency, educational attainment, and household income. Due
to the model minority argument, Hmong and other struggling Asian American subgroups don t receive
substantial government assistance despite their alarming statistics. In their native countries, Hmong
lived in isolated, rural regions with little traditional schooling functioning primarily as farmers. As a
result of the Hmong coming to the U.S. as refugees as opposed to immigrants, they didn t undergo the
same self selection process which favors educated and wealthy professionals. Because the majority of
Hmong came to the U.S. for survival rather than economic gain they were unprepared socially and

that presents the legendary reign of the Qin Emperor and a nameless hero played by Jet Li tasked to
assassinate the emperor. Zhang is known for creating films that present the rich Chinese history. This
film is no exception. The film presents the culture of China during the Qin Dynasty through many
different components. The costume, setting and music present the time period perfectly. Yimou also
uses colour as symbolism in the film to present major plot points. As well as symbolising a part of a

Their traditional instruments create the mood of the film, having some of the best musical scores that I

and mood. At the beginning of the scene the music starts with a soft tune and slowly increase in
volume as Broken Sword walked through the hall ways. The scene used more of a strings melody that
created a calmer, more intimate scene. This is then followed by a dynamic transition into the following
fighting scene. As the film progresses though the fighting scenes, the score evolves into a more epic
and intense melody which uses the sounds of objects in movement, accompanied by a percussion that
creates an intense mood, and the soft vocals of a female to create a more elegant melody. Dun Tan, the
composer of the score used more traditional forms of instruments to create a feeling of immersion in
the time period chosen. The music is one of the strongest elements in the film really creating the

What Is The Role Of The Army In The Federal Army
To arms! Your Country calls! was that slogan that echoed through the streets of every American city in
the spring of 1861. On April 12, Confederate forces fired shots against the Union held Fort Sumter.
Seven states declared secession from the Union before the battle, and four more seceded after. The
American Civil War had begun, and the urge to fight swept over the divided country s young men like
wildfire. From all walks of life, men charged by emotional oratory (Robertson Jr. 20), joined ranks to
live the romanticized life of a soldier, and assumed the war would be over in 90 days or less. However,
what most found, if not an early death, was that the war would drag on for four years. Nevertheless,
hundreds of thousands citizen soldiers met their country s call to defend their way of life, typically in
state volunteer militias, and this required organization in the federal army to ensure efficient
distribution of manpower. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

enlisted infantry uniforms from II Corps, Army of the Potomac, were, at times, vastly different in

A Summary Of Andrew Carnegie And J. P. Morgan
During the time of the American Industrial Revolution famous names like Andrew Carnegie and J.P.
Morgan were investing their money in the Steel and Financial industry to strike it big and become
even richer. Both Carnegie and Morgan, being the brilliant investors that they were, had two very
similar, but different strategies to make the most money possible and rule their markets. While
Morgan believed in horizontal integration, Carnegie invented a system that was much more interesting
and complex, which would be appellated vertical integration. Morgans method of horizontal
integration is defined as, the acquisition of additional business activities that are at the same level of
the value chain in similar (Staff, April 2015). Morgan was buying all the smaller steel mills and
railroad companies to allow him to rule the whole market, which worked, but had several downfalls.
Even though Morgan owned a large amount of factories and percentage of the industry, it didn t mean
that he was going to make more money easier. Carnegie, on the other hand, used his method of
vertical integration, which would allow him to ultimately defeat J.P. Morgan s threat on the market.
Vertical integration is a strategy where a company expands its business operations into different steps
on the same production path, such as when a manufacturer owns its supplier and/or distributor (Staff,
December 2015). So, in Carnegie s instance, he was buying all the smaller companies that he orders

main characters are Coach Gordon Bombay played by Emilio Estevez, Charlie Conway played by

Mighty Ducks D2 was a film that played a vital role in influencing American born hockey players, and

Colin Ferguson Analysis
Cultural variability is evident in history, cross culturally, and between social groups within in today s
cultures. There are many things that impact cultural variability of norms such as race, gender, social
class, age, subcultural and religious affiliation (Velasquez, Andre, Shanks Meyers, 1987).
December 7, 1993, Colin Ferguson began to randomly execute the passengers on a New York
commuter train (Who is Colin Ferguson, 2017). After killing six passengers and injuring nineteen
others, he was finally subdued by three of the other passengers (Who is Colin Ferguson, 2017).
Colin Ferguson was born January 14, 1959 in Kingston, Jamaica. His father Von Herman was the
managing director for Hercules Agencies, a large pharmaceutical company. Mr. Herman was highly
regarded and recognized as a prominent businessman in Jamaica (Montaldo, 2017). Ferguson had four
brothers and afforded the privileges that wealth offers in an extreme poverty area. He graduated from
Calabar High School in 1969 with a grade average that was ranked in the top third of his class
(Montaldo, 2017). In 1978 his father was killed in a car crash and a short time later his mother died
from cancer. He would then suffer the loss of the family fortune. At 23 years old Ferguson left
Kingston, Jamaica and moved to the U.S. on a Visitor s Visa (Montaldo, 2017). Ferguson arrived in
America in 1978 into a time when there were mostly white families holding privilege and wealth and
leaving a cultural that was quite the opposite from American. Ferguson also came from a prominent
Jamaican family with wealth and privilege that he would no longer have.
The only jobs Ferguson could get in America were low paying and menial. He blamed racist
Americans for this problem (Montaldo, 2017). He got married to an American citizen who was also of
Jamaican descent. They soon moved to Long Island but Ferguson continued to be frustrated with
reports of loss of temper, outrage, and racial bigotry toward white people who he felt stood in his way
(Montaldo, 2017). In Jamaica he was born into one of the top families in Kingston; Government and
top military members attended his father s funeral. In America he was not given this honor which

Analysis Of The Movie The Englishman s Boy
The film The Englishman s boy is a screen adaptation of Guy Vanderhaeghe s book of the same name.
Vanderhaeghe also wrote the screenplay for the film. The book was based on the true story of the
Cypress Hills massacre in 1873. I will provide a summary of the film s most important plot points,
characters and background information. The movie covers the horrors that were witnessed in Cypress
Hills and shows the inhumane way Native Americans have been treated since colonization, in 1873
and through to the 1920s. The movie explains how white men were hearkened as heroes for
committing these atrocities which were largely excused because society at that time viewed natives as
inhuman and therefore undeserving of human rights. The film was set with a background in both 1873
pioneer plains and 1920s Hollywood. This method was used to show a dualism within the two eras
and that negative attitudes towards Native Americans had not been corrected as they should have been
but only muffled. I will compare the film and its accuracy to the actual Cypress Hills massacre and
determine what dramatics were used to make a point within the direction of the movie. This film and
the subsequent essay is relevant to this class because I believe that even though the crimes committed
against native Americans are less obviously racist, violent and vulgar today, there is still a derogatory
indifference towards them and their cries for equality.
The film opens in 1873, with a young man working as a

Operation Research Essay
Question 1: What is Operations Research?
Operations Research is a scientific method that utilizes advanced analytical and mathematical
techniques to create a system aimed towards making sure that available resources are used to their
maximum potential and managing organized systems.
It is quantitative method through which problems are identified, represented in the form of equations
to be tested and analysed to determine the most optimal system to use for decision making.
Question 2: History of Research Operations and what is its importance today?
HISTORY OF RESEARCH OPERATIONS
The development and use of Operations Research was first recognized in 1840 when Charles

XII. Project management: allocation of resources such as workers, capital, time and machinery,
scheduling and monitoring activities.
XIII. Construction of telecommunications networks.
Question 4: What would the world be without Operations Research?
Operations research is basically an analytical method used to create a system that is efficient in the use
of resources and yields positive results at minimal expenses to the project owner. Without operations
research to attain the same results as with operations research, the process would be time consuming,
complex and may not even be able to attain the same level of accuracy and precision as the models
and equations used by operations research.
As such, most systems and disciplines may not function to their fullest potential as scheduling of
activities may overlap, systems may be slow and ineffective and risk assessments may be over or
under estimated to mention a

The Social Impact of Stigma Surrounding Physical and Mental Disability Of those who know me
well, a small number eventually find out that I am bipolar. It s not something I advertise to the public,
and it has, at times, been an enormously debilitating force in my life. Even though I am educated
about my problems and know better, many times I have berated myself harshly for my weakness or
even found fault in my very existence. Early on, I doubted my right to live based upon the difficulties
inherent to the disorder, and I have since sometimes felt deeply ashamed of it. Not everyone who has
learned of it has been understanding. Not at all. I have been told I was undisciplined, that the illness
was fake or manufactured, that I was making excuses, that I was scary, that I needed to go back to
church, that I was just manipulative, that I needed a knot jerked in my tail, that I had taken advantage
of loving parents, that I was just too emotional, that that that that that...... It s NOT just my
imagination that keeps me from telling people. sricki All across the globe, people with disabilities are
shut out from the rest of society, kept back by a wall called stigma . They are well hidden from the rest
of the world, institutionally separated from the moment that they begin school. Children with
disabilities grow up almost exclusively around other children like them , usually under the pretense
that it allows them to feel more normal . As they grow

International Monetary Fund Argentina Project And Its...
The International Monetary Fund Argentina Project and its problems and outcomes
One project of the International Monetary Fund was a series of loans given to the country of Argentina
in the 1990s through 2001. In the 1990s many investors and brokers looked to Argentina for
investments as they rated its economy as one of the world s strongest (Blustein, 2003, Aug 3). It was
at this time that Argentina first started to follow the International Monetary Fund formula for
economic stabilization in development including reducing budget in balance of payment deficits,
raising interest rates, reducing inflation, privatizing state assets, and reducing trade barriers and
regulation on capital flows in and out of the country (Paddock, 2002, p. 158). These policies helped
reduce the hyper inflationary levels that Argentina had reached during the 1980s. This positive outlook
may have prevented a needed change in the economic policies when the effects of the Mexican peso
crisis in 1995 placed Argentina s economy in a brief recession. It wasn t until 1998 that Argentine
policymakers discussed the country s finances with a senior official of the International Monetary
Fund who sounded the alarm that the country might be headed for an Asian style melt down. However
despite the warning significant economic changes were not made, in part due to the confidence that
money could be easily acquired from the International Monetary Fund (Blustein, 2003, Aug 3). In
1999 the financial

Hamlet Soliloquy Compare And Contrast
Here are two extremely famous productions both portraying one of the most famous speeches of all
time, Hamlet s To be or not to be soliloquy. Kenneth Branagh s version is approximately three minutes
and ten seconds, while Franco Zeffirelli is about three minutes and thirty five seconds. Branagh chose
himself to be the star of his own play, while Zeffirelli chose a young Mel Gibson. This soliloquy
occurs in Act 3 scene 1.
Both of the directors takes on this scene could not have been more different. In the two versions, the
physical appearance of Hamlet is practically opposite. Branagh presented himself with bright blonde
hair and very strange goatee and mustache, he looks like royalty. To contrast, Mel Gibson looks more
like an average person wearing all black. Branagh is in the middle of his huge castle, surrounded by ...

Branagh has Polonius and Claudius spying on him from the other side of the mirror. He then has
Hamlet speak into the mirror that they are hiding behind. By doing this, he has the audience in
suspense because you have no idea if Hamlet knows that they are actually behind it. Branagh does not
seem insane in that he would take his own life, rather he is enraged and searching for revenge. In this
version we are left to wonder if Hamlet is talking to himself or to Polonius and Claudius. This also
goes along with the recurring theme of the play, appearance vs reality. In Zeffirelli version, he has
Hamlet alone in a dark tomb which symbolizes death and sorrow. This Hamlet is very much
contemplating committing suicide. It also emphasizes his great depression. Zeffirelli has Hamlet in a
tomb with really low lighting and is taken in multiple shots(edited a lot). This enables the scene to
focus on the pain in Hamlets voice and

Analysis Of Hemingway s Big Two Hearted River
Although Ernest Hemingway and John Burroughs belonged to different generations and wrote in
different times, Hemingway s Big Two Hearted River (BTHR) and Burroughs A Bed of Boughs
(ABOB) share a particularly intimate connection. Both Hemingway s and Burroughs works are
underlined with spiritual depth and exactitude. The fishing narratives of both Hemingway and
Burroughs, are embedded with precision, and praise for the natural world. Hemingway s BTHR
parallels John Burroughs ABOB in both journey and spirit; both writers find joy, and renewal through
love for nature and total immersion into their landscape. Although, Nick s journey is a remarkably
similar one to Burroughs, Hemingway as a modernist must move beyond the condition of John
Burrough s pre war perspective in order to reconcile with the post war trauma and face the tragic
condition of the modern world. John Burroughs explains the importance of love, nothing can take the
place of love... love sharpens the eye, the ear, the touch; it quickens the feet, it steadies the
hand....What we love to do, that we do well. To know is not all; it is only half. To love is the other half
(The Art of Seeing Things 4). John Burroughs was an American naturalist and writer during the mid to
late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. His essay, The Art of Seeing Things discusses the
differences in levels of observation and the importance of both attentiveness and love within the
context of the natural world. Burroughs

The Botany Of Desire By Michael Pollan
In the novel, The Botany of Desire, Michael Pollan tells the intriguing story of how plants are
domesticated from the perspective of the plant with regards to four specific plants.. The four plants he
chose for discussion are the apple, the tulip, marijuana, and the potato. As he discusses the
domestication of these plants, his overall focus is the desire that each of these plants have to us as
humans. Pollan has written books and magazine articles among other pieces of literature that discuss
the relationship between plants and humans. Throughout this informational text, Pollan tries to keep
the perspective from the plant s eye view of the world, but he often slips into Pollan s eye view of the
world. As he talks about experiences that he has had with each of these plants and gives a little bit of
their history, it was often hard to stay focused on the topic that he was trying to convey. However, I
found that the perspectives that Pollan brings up are interesting to think about. The Botany of Desire
was an interesting journal type informational novel that didn t quite live up to my expectations of what
it could have been. Pollan begins by telling the story of the lives of four plants. The theme he tries to
keep throughout the novel is that human desires connect us to these plants. One of the theories he
states is that the plant has to want to work with us just as much as we want to work with it. Through
the stories of the four plants, he tells of the experiences

The Constitutional Convention was scheduled to begin on May 14, 1787, but only delegations from
Virginia and Pennsylvania were present on that date. By May 25, however, twenty nine delegates from
seven states a majority had arrived, and the most famous convention in United States history got under
way (Tullai, Martin D. The Constitutional Convention ). Not everyone one attended the convention.
Of the seventy four delegates chosen to attend, fifty five came. (The full complement of fifty five was
not reached until August 6, when John Francis Mercer of Massachusetts arrived.) The average daily
attendance was thirty. On opening day, twenty nine people were present. Thirty nine would ultimately
sign. More accurately, thirty nine names appear on the document (Tullai, Martin D. The Constitutional
Convention ). Some of the famous people who attended the Convention were Benjamin Franklin,
James Madison, George Washington and Alexander Hamilton.
The farmers hand some key points that they made sure they were in the Constitution. Most important,
the framers thought they were creating a government with specific, limited powers. It could do only
what the Constitution allowed it to do, and nowhere in that document was there permission to infringe
upon freedom of speech or the press, or to impose cruel and unusual punishments.

Spread Of Prom
Well I m more awake than this morning, and I m braining better. Since the prom spread is Megan x2,
Emily, and Mine s I just was wondering if you know what Dani has in terms of prom posal pictures, or
information. Next class I would like to gather those resources so that we re not scrambling next
Monday. Also since this is Dani s spread should we keep the title and layout, and everything and just
plug in pictures or take creative control. I m fine with any of them but I don t want to
overstep/understep my boundries.
On top of that if the Last group pic pages haven t been submitted due to names I will gladly be the
final name proof er. Megan Johnson also asked me for some help with the play video so I will be glad
to help her with that. Finally if I have time I want to make sure that no video s have fallen through the

everything is framed with similar sized rectangles. I think this was framed like this because Calvin isn

very straightforward and relatable; the punchline would be when calvin says to his mom It can t be! It

Compare the techniques used in two adverts by holiday companies to target their audience and sell
their product.
In this essay I will discuss the similarities and differences of two holiday adverts; one for Blackpool
and the other for Ibiza. Firstly I will discuss the layout of the adverts. The Blackpool ad has a central
picture of recognisable attractions such as the Blackpool tower and ferris wheel by the harbour which
shimmers with light which brightens up the advert, similarly the Ibiza advert has a central eye
catching picture of three young people dancing laughing and a sexy young female posing on her own

bold: neon colours such as red, pink, yellow, black similar to Blackpool but more thistly for the
attention to target their on going audience, where as Blackpool was as bright appearance mainly for
the tower and Ferris wheel which mainly their dazzles with lights around them. Blackpool was
generally advertising for the older generation which is a calmer appearance for relaxing, going
sightseeing and having fun in a basic manner but on the other hand Ibiza advert appealed for the
younger generation which settles for livelier and exciting appearance for their audience.
The language which was used in Blackpool was plain English which give full details which the reader
could understand clearly whereas Ibiza was written in slang for their slogan and also written in a
different font style and plain English for the contact, location and general aspects of the holiday about
getting there. Blackpool features their audience to read about more of their advert, but Ibiza settles for

  • 2. Gloria Steinem Believing In The True Self Summary In Believing in the True Self, Gloria Steinem points out that something we are born with is different from the others. Even though it might not be something fancy, we still have to admit to it because it is the only way to find your true self and admit it. She asserts that we are proud of ourselves when we believe in our true self. On the other hand, we might doubt ourselves all the time if we don t believe in our true self. I totally agree with her ideas. Her first idea seems to me that negative thoughts can easily change a person. For instance, I want to become a famous singer. However, someone keeps telling me that I can t do it well, or I never succeed in this way. I probably start to think about those negative comments. Even though I ... My parents hoped that I could become an engineer, so they forced me to choose engineering. I had to take courses that were advanced mathematics. Because math made me feel anxious and nervous when I was solving a math problem, I definitely hated math. I struggled finishing math homework and attending math class. I started to cut my math class. Due to that, I got an F on the first exam in my calculus class. I started to think about what I really wanted to do instead of what my parents wanted me to do, so I planned to change my major to biology. I had decided to become a doctor because I wanted to make my childhood ambition come true. Since I had figured out my goal, I enjoyed attending all my classes, and I got good grades. • 4. Gene Therapy Research Paper Gene Therapy Research Paper Gene therapy is described as the transplantation of normal genes into cells in place of missing or defective ones in order to correct genetic disorders. 1 During the 1960 s and early 70 s the actual concept of what is now known to be gene therapy arose. Many new practices including the development of genetically marked cell lines and the delineation of cells transformation by the papaovaviruses polyoma were in the works. Cloned genes became a product of this new DNA technique and were used to prove that foreign genes could actually correct genetic disorders.2 This new technology in the medical field has a wide range of uses that is constantly growing larger as scientists continue to study and experiment with it. As of right now, the uses of gene therapy in the medical field consist of replacing missing or defective genes, delivering genes that speed the destruction of cancer cells, supplying genes that cause cancer cells to revert to their normality, delivering bacterial or viral genes as a form of vaccination, providing genes that promote or impede the growth of new tissue and delivering genes that stimulate the healing of damaged tissue.3 With this information, a wide variety of genes are now being used for testing within gene therapy. In the mid 1980 s the first use of gene therapy was practiced and then seen in a four year old girl when she became the first gene therapy patient on September 14, 1990 at the NH Clinical Center. The result: Top management in Japan has been less sensitive to the expectations of regulators, culture and politics in overseas markets, and consequently, they have been slower to respond to local problems. In the past, Toyota was a company that trained employees to embrace the Toyota Way and pushed their employees to strive for continuous improvement and perfection. Why are they acting / behaving in certain ways? During their lunch break on day two, I noticed that Sparak and Simphiwe each had a brightly coloured blanket which they wrapped around their shoulders. They sat down, flat on the grass, and ate their lunch (consisting of spinach, potato and pap , which is a stiff, mealie meal), using their fingers to scoop their food into their mouths. • 10. Asperger s Development And Social Behavior Asperger s appeared first in the diagnostic manual of the American Psychiatric Association in 1994, 50 years after the symptoms of the disorder were described by Austrian doctor Hans Asperger. In 2013, Asperger s was replaced with the new term, Autism Spectrum Disorder (Delfos 2005). Many people continue to use the older name. This replacement was the result of significant discussion within the professional community as to whether Asperger s Syndrome constituted a distinct mental disorder or whether it was a form of autism. Asperger s can be examined through many theoretical beliefs. However, Vygotsky s sociocultural theory will be applied and used to analyze how a child with Asperger s is affected through language development and social behavior. Today Asperger s Syndrome is still widely known as an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Individuals diagnosed with this disorder are generally considered to be on the high functioning end of the autism spectrum. Children and adults diagnosed with this disorder generally have difficulty with social interactions and exhibit a restricted range of interests and or repetitive behaviors (Delfos 2005). The main difference between the two is thought to be in language development. Those individuals diagnosed with Asperger s Syndrome typically will not have had delayed language development when younger. Conversely, those with other forms of autism may evidence delays in language development and greater difficulty in communication. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Ethics Of Abortion And Abortion The Ethics of Abortion Abortion, which according to the Merriam Webster dictionary (n.d.) refers to any action that is taken to prematurely end the life of a growing fetus in its mother s womb before it is born, is a very controversial topic in our society today. Every day, several women die as a result of lack of access to proper abortion facilities (Kaczor, 2013). It has been estimated that 2% of women within childbearing age i.e. ages 15 to 44 will have an abortion (Medoff, 2013) and the yearly number of abortions worldwide is estimated to be around 46 million ( Kaczor,2015). Despite this law, the regulation of abortion is still left to provincial government and this has led to various interpretations of R v Morgentaler (Johnstone Macfarlane, 2015). Arguments from both sides Pro life The pro life movement believes in the sanctity of human life which they say begins right from the conception of the child (Zuradzki, 2014; Seipel 2014). According to Pro life supporters, an embryo has the right to a full moral status and right to life as any other human being (Zuradzki, 2014; Seipel 2014). Religion plays a big role in emphasizing and propagating the anti abortion movement and also influences the views of several Canadians on abortion (Saurette Gordon, 2013). Religious views, especially those taken from the Christian perspective, believes in the sanctity of life and views abortion as murder which is a sin (Zuradzki, 2014). Pro choice Supporters of abortion rights argue that a woman s decision to abort a fetus is in alignment with the right to freedom and choice (Seipel, 2014). They argue that the concept of whether or not a fetus can be regarded as a person should not infringe on the right of the mother to make choices without the interference of the state (Seipel, 2014). Please take an active role to make this a reality (qtd Brittany Maynard Fund ). Brittany Maynard Diaz, a 29 year old woman who was diagnosed with Glioblastoma and only given six months to live, turned her tragedy into a legacy when she chose to die with dignity. She became an advocate for the Compassion and Choices End of Life Consultation or EOLC program by sharing her story and decision with everyone in America in an effort to help give everyone in her situation the same options. She believed in dying with dignity for the same basic reasons that many others do; constitutionally speaking, it is within everyone s individual rights, it is an established medical practice used all over the world, and no one should be forced to suffer needlessly. After researching her diagnosed form of cancer and discussing her options with her family, any type of treatment given would only destroy the quality of life during the time she had left to live. • 21. Chemical Reaction On Chemical Change Analyzing chemical change Abstract Changes can be chemical or physical in nature. If a chemical change is taking place we will be breaking bonds and forming new bonds and therefore creating a new substance. In a Physical change we will have the same substance but simply in a new form. (Dickinson et al. 197). In order to collect evidence to prove a chemical change is occurring we need a change in the indicators. The more active a chemical is the more likely it will have a chemical reaction with another chemical. (Dickinson et al. 180) The higher the element is on the Activity Series the more reactive it is. (Dickinson et al. 192) A reactive element will replace an element that is underneath it in the activity series. (Dickinson et al. 192) In this lab we will examine chemical reactions with the activity series, indicators and the type of chemical reaction it is. The purpose of this lab is to study chemical change and analyze why and how chemical reactions are created. In this lab we are going to combine certain chemicals with each other to create a chemical change and we will observe and record any changes. The chemical reactions listed in the Results had all gone through chemical change and all the indicators have been recorded. Chemical change is very important and we need to learn more about them because without chemical change we couldn t perform daily tasks. From organ transfers to blood transfusions, tons of lives have been saved. A doctor s whole purpose is to help those dying to live. Yet, doctors have developed PAS, Physician Assisted Suicide, also known as Physician Assisted Death, and not to be mixed up with Euthanasia. Physician Assisted Suicide is morally wrong, gives doctors too much power, and it opens a door for those less critical patients to receive treatment too. If anyone can ask for assisted suicide, then that means that the doctor could make the decision to give anyone who asks for the treatment the lethal dosage of drugs. This could lead to the idea that anyone who wants to commit suicide doesn t have to make the decision for themselves. If they ask a power hungry doctor for their opinion, then it could lead to a death, when there could have been an intervention. Assisting in taking a life is unmoral. There are so many people just so broken and hurting that they think suicide is the answer. It s not easy to overcome either. It s like an anchor that pulls you into the darkness, and just keeps pulling you deeper and deeper. No matter how much you fight, pull, scream, and cry, you can t get free. It s a feeling of total emptiness and worthlessness. Even once you re over it, the thought still pops up, and it s a continuous fight. But, with love and hope, suicide can be overcome, for, in the bible it says that, through Christ we are over comers, and his love is above all else. Finally, there has been questioning of whether or not critically ill patients should be allowed to be physician assisted in committing suicide. They are miserable, and seemingly becoming a shell of the person they used to be. Wanting to end life because you re not the person you used to be is understandable in most eyes. The Holy Spirit is believed to play an important role in the Christian church s missionary approach. Many people consider that the Holy Spirit is one of the best solutions to situations where individuals come across problems in communicating to each other. The Holy Spirit makes it possible for individuals to refrain from putting across confusing thinking and assists them in expressing ideas that can be easily understood by their interlocutors. The Holy Spirit as seen from a general perspective The masses need to understand that most ideas can seem absurd if the Holy Spirit is not present. Thus, they need to get actively involved in introducing this concept in their thinking in order to express information that is as clear as it can possibly be. Even with this, people should not abandon their need for information as a result of considering that the Holy Spirit does all the work for them. The movie explains how white men were hearkened as heroes for committing these atrocities which were largely excused because society at that time viewed natives as inhuman and therefore undeserving of human rights. The film was set with a background in both 1873 pioneer plains and 1920s Hollywood. This method was used to show a dualism within the two eras and that negative attitudes towards Native Americans had not been corrected as they should have been but only muffled. I will compare the film and its accuracy to the actual Cypress Hills massacre and determine what dramatics were used to make a point within the direction of the movie. This film and the subsequent essay is relevant to this class because I believe that even though the crimes committed against native Americans are less obviously racist, violent and vulgar today, there is still a derogatory indifference towards them and their cries for equality. The film opens in 1873, with a young man working as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Operations research is basically an analytical method used to create a system that is efficient in the use of resources and yields positive results at minimal expenses to the project owner. Without operations research to attain the same results as with operations research, the process would be time consuming, complex and may not even be able to attain the same level of accuracy and precision as the models and equations used by operations research. As such, most systems and disciplines may not function to their fullest potential as scheduling of activities may overlap, systems may be slow and ineffective and risk assessments may be over or under estimated to mention a ... The Social Impact of Stigma Surrounding Physical and Mental Disability Of those who know me well, a small number eventually find out that I am bipolar. It s not something I advertise to the public, and it has, at times, been an enormously debilitating force in my life. Even though I am educated about my problems and know better, many times I have berated myself harshly for my weakness or even found fault in my very existence. Early on, I doubted my right to live based upon the difficulties inherent to the disorder, and I have since sometimes felt deeply ashamed of it. Not everyone who has learned of it has been understanding. Not at all. I have been told I was undisciplined, that the illness was fake or manufactured, that I was making excuses, that I was scary, that I needed to go back to church, that I was just manipulative, that I needed a knot jerked in my tail, that I had taken advantage of loving parents, that I was just too emotional, that that that that that...... It s NOT just my imagination that keeps me from telling people. sricki All across the globe, people with disabilities are shut out from the rest of society, kept back by a wall called stigma . They are well hidden from the rest of the world, institutionally separated from the moment that they begin school. Children with disabilities grow up almost exclusively around other children like them , usually under the pretense that it allows them to feel more normal . As they grow ... • 42. International Monetary Fund Argentina Project And Its... The International Monetary Fund Argentina Project and its problems and outcomes One project of the International Monetary Fund was a series of loans given to the country of Argentina in the 1990s through 2001. In the 1990s many investors and brokers looked to Argentina for investments as they rated its economy as one of the world s strongest (Blustein, 2003, Aug 3). It was at this time that Argentina first started to follow the International Monetary Fund formula for economic stabilization in development including reducing budget in balance of payment deficits, raising interest rates, reducing inflation, privatizing state assets, and reducing trade barriers and regulation on capital flows in and out of the country (Paddock, 2002, p. 158). These policies helped reduce the hyper inflationary levels that Argentina had reached during the 1980s. This positive outlook may have prevented a needed change in the economic policies when the effects of the Mexican peso crisis in 1995 placed Argentina s economy in a brief recession. It wasn t until 1998 that Argentine policymakers discussed the country s finances with a senior official of the International Monetary Fund who sounded the alarm that the country might be headed for an Asian style melt down. However despite the warning significant economic changes were not made, in part due to the confidence that money could be easily acquired from the International Monetary Fund (Blustein, 2003, Aug 3). In 1999 the financial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Kenneth Branagh s version is approximately three minutes and ten seconds, while Franco Zeffirelli is about three minutes and thirty five seconds. Branagh chose himself to be the star of his own play, while Zeffirelli chose a young Mel Gibson. This soliloquy occurs in Act 3 scene 1. Both of the directors takes on this scene could not have been more different. In the two versions, the physical appearance of Hamlet is practically opposite. Branagh presented himself with bright blonde hair and very strange goatee and mustache, he looks like royalty. To contrast, Mel Gibson looks more like an average person wearing all black. He then has Hamlet speak into the mirror that they are hiding behind. By doing this, he has the audience in suspense because you have no idea if Hamlet knows that they are actually behind it. Branagh does not seem insane in that he would take his own life, rather he is enraged and searching for revenge. In this version we are left to wonder if Hamlet is talking to himself or to Polonius and Claudius. This also goes along with the recurring theme of the play, appearance vs reality. In Zeffirelli version, he has Hamlet alone in a dark tomb which symbolizes death and sorrow. This Hamlet is very much contemplating committing suicide. It also emphasizes his great depression. Zeffirelli has Hamlet in a tomb with really low lighting and is taken in multiple shots(edited a lot). This enables the scene to focus on the pain in Hamlets voice and ... • 44. Analysis Of Hemingway s Big Two Hearted River Although Ernest Hemingway and John Burroughs belonged to different generations and wrote in different times, Hemingway s Big Two Hearted River (BTHR) and Burroughs A Bed of Boughs (ABOB) share a particularly intimate connection. Both Hemingway s and Burroughs works are underlined with spiritual depth and exactitude. The fishing narratives of both Hemingway and Burroughs, are embedded with precision, and praise for the natural world. Hemingway s BTHR parallels John Burroughs ABOB in both journey and spirit; both writers find joy, and renewal through love for nature and total immersion into their landscape. Although, Nick s journey is a remarkably similar one to Burroughs, Hemingway as a modernist must move beyond the condition of John Burrough s pre war perspective in order to reconcile with the post war trauma and face the tragic condition of the modern world. John Burroughs explains the importance of love, nothing can take the place of love... love sharpens the eye, the ear, the touch; it quickens the feet, it steadies the hand....What we love to do, that we do well. To know is not all; it is only half. To love is the other half (The Art of Seeing Things 4). • 45. The Botany Of Desire By Michael Pollan In the novel, The Botany of Desire, Michael Pollan tells the intriguing story of how plants are domesticated from the perspective of the plant with regards to four specific plants.. The four plants he chose for discussion are the apple, the tulip, marijuana, and the potato. As he discusses the domestication of these plants, his overall focus is the desire that each of these plants have to us as humans. Pollan has written books and magazine articles among other pieces of literature that discuss the relationship between plants and humans. Throughout this informational text, Pollan tries to keep the perspective from the plant s eye view of the world, but he often slips into Pollan s eye view of the world. As he talks about experiences that he has had with each of these plants and gives a little bit of their history, it was often hard to stay focused on the topic that he was trying to convey. However, I found that the perspectives that Pollan brings up are interesting to think about. The Botany of Desire was an interesting journal type informational novel that didn t quite live up to my expectations of what it could have been. Pollan begins by telling the story of the lives of four plants. The theme he tries to keep throughout the novel is that human desires connect us to these plants. One of the theories he states is that the plant has to want to work with us just as much as we want to work with it. Through the stories of the four plants, he tells of the experiences ...
