planeta,

Moral Relativism
Different cultures view ethics in different ways. I think that moral relativism should be viewed the
same way all across the world. Some cultures praise the wrong doing of their people and celebrate
their behavior whether it is wrong or right. Other cultures, will shun a group or individual if he/she
was doing something unethical. As a society, America tends to judge an action before we hear the
story or background of the person. Our country is a prime example of how moral relativism applies to
everyday actions. If someone is committing a crime, the individual will be sentenced and punished if
necessary. However in other countries, an individual that has done wrong may go free. For example,
the incident that happened in
Tunis, Tunsania, now has a video created on the people that committed the acts. In American culture,
the people that committed the crime would have been caught, tried and sent to jail. In some cultures,
what one deems as unethical, may be another society s norm. Take abortion as an example, we as
Americans may view a mother having an abortion as a wrongful act , but in some ... Show more

Many cultures today have belief in a higher power. Individual countries may not view the same
practice to get to eternal life, but all agree that there is life after death. For instance, many Christians
believe praising God and living according to the bible will get people into heaven. On the other hand,
Muslims believe that following the Koran and praying to the East will get people into eternal glory.
These religions both have the same idea that one must do something in order to seek the face of God
and to live right so they can enter the gates of heaven. They may worship differently to get there, but
still have the same general idea. There is an increasing desire and an increasing will across the world
today to build a sustainable and just world, (Tippett, Kirsta,

Understanding By Design Analysis
In order to create validity teachers must make sure that we align our curriculum to the standards we
teach. So how do we align the curriculum? To start off, alignment means the interrelationship between
the standards, assessment, and instruction we teach. To achieve this, we need to follow the goal of
alignment. The goal is student understanding. As teachers, we need to make sure we make meaning of
life s big ideas and transfer those big ideas. To accomplish the alignment goal, Grant Wiggins and Jay
McTighe had designed an alignment tool that creates validity in the classroom. The alignment tool is
called Understanding by Design (UbD). UbD looks at the teacher s role as a coach for making
meaning of life s big ideas and transferring them. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each stage there are questions we should ask when creating validity are as follows: What do I want
them to understand? How do I know they understand? How will they come to understand? The first
stage is, What do I want them to understand? The main concept to focus on in the first stage is
Standards. To organize instructional units and plan appropriate classroom activities, teachers must
unpack the standards that is, determine the various components in a meaningful sequence of learning
steps (Guskey, 2005). The first step to unpack the standards was to look at the content standards and
find the big ideas. When I had to look at my content standards, I found it easy to locate. I used the
Pennsylvania Department of Education: Standards Aligned System (SAS) to locate them but because
Family and Consumer Sciences Standards are so board but yet limited, it became difficult. I was only
able to use part of the standards towards my unit. I had to pick and choose which standards will work
the best in my unit. Once I found the right standards, I would figure out the big idea, which in my case
was Meal Planning . The second step is to take my big idea and turn it into enduring understanding
statements, also known as adult speak . Enduring understanding statements should be something that
is important to know as an adult. For my enduring understanding, I decided to write: What I want
students to understand about Meal Planning is to effectively use meal management principles in
everyday life . The third step is to create essential questions. Essential question is also known as kid
speak . This is something that is important to know now as a student and should be relevant and
engaging. For my essential question, I decided to write: What goes into meal planning? This essential
question has many different aspects the students will need to know about the topic and can be used in
future lessons and activities. The final step to this stage is

Charles II Dbq Essay
The reign of Charles II and the revolution against his brother James show that England in the later
seventeenth century was ready to be Tory and Anglican but not Roman Catholic and Francophile.
Discuss.
It is not wrong to assume that the consequence of the reigns of Charles and James II was to lead
England to be Tory for some time, at least and Anglican rather than Francophile and Catholic. Both
Charles and James II had sympathies for Catholicism, and England had had a tense and problematic
relationship with Roman Catholicism since the reign of Henry VIII. This tendency and the relationship
of Charles with Louis XIV contributed greatly to the ever increasing hostility towards France and
Catholicism.
At first, Charles was willing to implement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Danby was pro Dutch, anti French, and anti Catholic who sought to strengthen the Commons loyalty
to the King. To accomplish his objectives, he concentrated his efforts in the House of Commons. The
Commons were divided into the Court party, which supported the King, and the Country party, which
normally opposed the Crown. Later, the Court party was called Tory, and the Country party, Whig. He
sought the loyalty of the Court party by giving them pensions, offices, and payments in cash.
To worsen the situation of Catholics, rumors about a Popish Plot started to be spread. Oates and
Tonge, the ones who invented the plot, affirmed that a group of Jesuits were planning to kill the King
and place in his place his Catholic brother, James. Thereupon these declarations, a wave of false
accusations against Catholics were made, and many were punished and killed. The Commons passed a
bill hardening the Test Act. In response to this supposed Popish Plot, the Whigs started a plot to
prevent James from becoming the new King when Charles died. When this conspiracy was brought to
light, it ruined the Whig

Online Enlistment, Clearance, and Classroom Management...
Chapter 1
The Problem and Its Background
Introduction
In the past, pre enrollment systems took a lot of time to accomplish, from securing plenty of forms, to
getting cleared, enlisting subjects, and scheduling. Some schools even have subject advisement before
and after the enlistment phase. All these processes were done manually and were very time
consuming. Now however, with the option of porting all these operations over the internet, they have
become faster to do, more convenient, and easily scalable. This chapter will cover the current systems
for clearance, enlistment, and classroom management of Cosmopoint International Institute of
Technology (CIIT) and propose an online system to manage these tasks. It will discuss the ... Show

Executive Summary
The Enlistment and Clearance System will allow students of CIIT to check online if they are eligible
to take the subjects that they need for the upcoming trimester. Students will login to the website and
they can view all the subjects they have already taken, their grades on these subjects, subjects that they
are eligible to take for the next trimester, the schedule and classroom assignments for the said subjects,
and the student s clearance status. When a student enlists online, he picks the subjects that he is
eligible to take for the next trimester. He will also be able to choose the schedule of the said subjects if
there is more than one class being offered. After picking the subjects and schedule, he will be shown a
completed assessment form that he can print out. He will then bring this form to the school registrar
where he can pay the necessary fees and be officially enrolled. Professors of CIIT will be able to
upload their students grades online. School administrators can change a student s clearance status
online for any reason that they see fit. Actions done will be logged. All these processes are currently
being done manually by CIIT. It is tedious and time consuming for a lot of the students and the school
s registrar office. The Online Enlistment and Clearance System aims to replace these with an easier

Descriptive Essay About Mission Inn

English 1A
2 November 2017
The Mission Inn Walking the streets through Downtown Riverside, it s hard to miss the giant castle
esque structure that takes up an entire city block. The Mission Inn s Spanish architecture and lush
green variety of trees and bushes can be seen from a mile away. Taking an aerial view of Downtown
Riverside allows one to see what sets this entire city block apart. The tops of every building that make
up the Inn are colored a foreign maroon red which greatly contrast with the rest of the city s boring
gray rooftops. The structure makes a giant upside down horseshoe shape which is centered around a
gorgeous sparkling pool, which itself is surrounded by a ring of greenery that encompasses the entire
center of the U shape. Behind the U are several wings that make up the rest of the Inn, which include
rooms for guests to stay in and all of the other commodities that the hotel has for visitors, such as a
museum filled with artwork and artifacts, and several different dining options.
Before entering the ancient luxurious Spanish castle through the main entrance, one walks through
walkways filled with rich shrubbery and plants that line the wall and the fence closest to the street.
The entrance to the Inn lies behind the U shaped driveway where guests can have their exotic cars
valet parked. Entering the Mission Inn in Downtown Riverside during the night time was a
breathtaking experience. Sounds of crickets chirping and

A Closer Look At I.a. Richards
A Closer Look at I.A. Richards and Semantic Triangle Theory
I.A. Richards said, Language, if it is to be used, must be a ready instrument (Russo, 2015). He thrived
off of his need to understand the use of language and it is a common and recurring theme throughout
his work. Richards was a teacher, philosopher, poet, prolific speaker, lover of books and words
themselves (Russo, 2015). A complex man who led a complicated life, Richards ultimately facilitated
a way to better understand the intricate process of how words gain meaning (Golden, Berquist,
Coleman, Sproule, 2010). Through examining the semantic triangle theory, a student can understand
how to become an efficient communicator. Discussed below is a basic introduction to Richards, ...

Richards ) In 1939, he began teaching English at Harvard and stayed taught there for a quarter of a
century ( I.A. Richards). He died in 1979, but he will never be forgotten, for he has made an
everlasting impact on the studies of linguistics and rhetoric ( I.A. Richards).
What is the Semantic Triangle? According to The Theory of Western Thought, The best known
rhetorical device developed in The Meaning of Meaning is perhaps the semantic triangle (Golden,
Berquist, Coleman, Sproule, 2010, pg. 265). Ogden and Richards determined that people generally see
words as things in reality therefore we confuse the symbol or word with the thing or object in reality
(Golden, Berquist, Coleman, Sproule, 2010). For example, the word FAN would literally be
perpetually twirling propellers to produce wind. Of course, one intellectually understands that the
object and the word are not the same thing, however, while humans communicate, as Ogden and
Richards argue, we tend to make a necessary connection between the word and the reality of the
object, which they refer to as the referent (Golden, Berquist, Coleman, Sproule, 2010). Simply put,
our experience with a word or object, is parallel to our basic understanding of the object we use the
word to refer to.

Vitamin C Essay
A question that is commonly asked when receiving a virus is, what is the fastest way to get rid of it?
No human enjoys the presence of a common cold, despite more extreme terms such as the flu. Rest
and fluids are typically the first reaction to curing a common cold. Then, medicine that is categorized
toward the symptoms is received. Although, how do you speed up the process? Many think that the
intake of large doses of vitamin c can speed up or potentially get rid of the cold all together.
Vitamin C is very essential to our bodies. Vitamin C helps the body to maintain its collective tissues.
This also includes our bones, blood vessels, and skin. Vitamin C is scientifically known as L ascorbic
acid. The vitamin is a water soluble vitamin that can be found in several fruits and vegetables. Vitamin
C can also be found as a dietary supplement. It is essential for our bodies to have some source of
vitamin C intake. Vitamin C is required for the biosynthesis of collagen, L carnitine, and certain
neurotransmitters; vitamin C is also involved in protein metabolism. Collagen is an essential
component of connective tissue, which plays a vital role in wound healing. Vitamin C is also an
important physiological antioxidant [3] and has been shown to regenerate other antioxidants within the
body, including alpha tocopherol (vitamin E). (1) The overall body intake for vitamin C runs to a high
of 2g. Lower amounts of vitamin C can be found in areas such as eyes, pituitary gland, and

The client expressed that they were actually tighter than the shoes that he had been wearing

so, but he eventually got the shoe off. The therapist then tried to put the shoe back on the client and
then asked me to do it. The therapist asked me to put the client s shoe back on so that I could see how
tight and difficult it is to put on. I kneeled down on the floor and placed the client s toes into the shoe.

Trying Crystal Meth in Breaking Bad
How would you like to try some crystal meth?
Chances are, you re saying, no right about now, maybe shaking your head in disgust. Why would you
want to try crystal meth? That stuff is so ridiculously dangerous, right? Would it change your mind if
you saw it on television?
The highly acclaimed, wildly popular, and most recent winner of the Golden Globe Award for Best
Television Series, Breaking Bad chronicles the life of Walter White, a chemistry genius destined to
live out his life teaching high school chemistry to indifferent students.
However, when White is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, he begins manufacturing the greatest
meth in the world with partner Jesse Pinkman, a former student. White s reasoning for taking up this
illegal new hobby was originally to help pay for his chemotherapy treatments, but he soon realizes that
he has found himself far too deep into the drug underworld to climb back out again.
The show has an astounding following, and over 10 million viewers tuned in for the finale. The highly
acclaimed series ended its second season at the end of February, but the end of the show itself did not
stop the influence of its subject matter in the real world. According to the International Business times,
meth never had better marketing than Breaking Bad.
Believe it or not, Breaking Bad makes chemistry look cool. It has also made the idea of cooking meth
red hot. While Breaking Bad may not glorify meth in the sense of making it attractive to the

Importance Of Justification Of Staff Meeting
For setting up a staff meeting at the third location I would email all staff about the mandatory meeting
that will be held at a specific time and date and let them know which room the meeting will be held in.
Upon meeting time, I would explain to the staff that there have been complaints both internally and
externally about appropriate work dress attire. I would let everyone know that there will be a new
policy enforced, it will mandate that all staff members wear scrubs and solid colored white or black
tennis shoes. The company will supply every staff member with one set of scrubs while other sets are
at the expense of the employee. The new dress code is enforced as of this meeting and all staff
members will be held accountable from here on.
The next item on the agenda for the meeting is cleanliness of the office building. I would let all
employees recognize that in the employee handbook it states that staff members will help daily to keep
the bathrooms, waiting rooms and all areas throughout the establishment clean. Also, I would reiterate
that janitorial visits are happening limited times a week. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Socrates Vs Socrates
Socrates and Aristotle would think that philosophy was for the greater good and expanding the minds
of those around them. Socrates in particular would regard philosophy as conversational and weeding
out those who know and those who do not. Aristotle would use philosophy to try to reach the
conclusion on what happiness is. These great thinkers believed absolute contemplation was the
greatest pleasure human beings could reach, so for them philosophy was reaching a type of Nirvana.
Take the Apology as an example of what Socrates thought about philosophy. When charged with
atheism and corrupting the youth he defends himself by claiming he is an ignorant man. Socrates is on
a search for the wisest man after being told by an oracle that it is ... Show more content on

Sadly, we know of Socrates fate and with him trying to change Athens for the better it backfires on
him. But, Socrates leaves those who attended his trial his with some final words that speak to who he
is and how he felt about what he was doing regarding his philosophy. If, I say, now, when, as I
conceive and imagine, God orders me to fulfil the philosopher s mission of searching into myself and
other men, I were to desert my post through fear of death, or any other fear; that would indeed be
strange, and I might justly be arraigned in court for denying the existence of the gods, if I disobeyed
the oracle because I was afraid of death: then I should be fancying that I was wise when I was not
wise. For this fear of death is indeed the pretence of wisdom, and not real wisdom, being the
appearance of knowing the unknown; since no one knows whether death, which they in their fear
apprehend to be the greatest evil, may not be the greatest good (Apology, Plato). As I stated in my
introduction Socrates and Aristotle believed that contemplative thought was the highest form of
human life. That this concept of thinking and attempting to answer life s hardest questions was the
best thing to occur to any human being. When looking at their point of view of what is the highest
kind of pleasure a human can achieve it begs the question if that is

What Role Did Samurai Play In Japanese Culture
Tradition played a major role in Shogunate Japan. Every role and ritual that each person took place in
had multiple traditions and meanings embedded in it. This had an enormous effect on the overall way
in which Japanese society functioned. In the following report, the role that traditions played in art,
samurai, daily life and geography during the 17th to 19th century had on Japanese society will be
explored and uncovered.
SAMURAI (WARRIORS) OF JAPAN:
The samurai held a very important role in the Tokugawa society. Tradition influenced the way in
which the samurai were able to perform during battle and their efficiency. Bushido meant the way of

Traditional kimonos were worn by every class, except for the samurai; they wore a two piece set
called the hakama. As the Meiji Revolution was in the workings, a widespread of silkworm disease hit
Europe. As Japan was an isolated country, they were easily able to avoid this disease, produce and sell
Japanese silk at an astounding price. The traditional art of raising silkworms and spinning their threads
was recognised as the way in which Japan s new economy was able to re negotiate its imbalanced
agreements and restore its power. This is because Shogunate Japan had the advantage of silk and
silkworms over Europe and their countries. Because the material was so expensive, only the upper
classes were able to wear their kimonos made out of silk. The farmers, merchants and artisan s
kimonos were made out of cotton or hemp. As Japanese traditions revolved around religion and
philosophy, Buddhism influenced what many people ate. Meat in this religion was strongly
discouraged, so the Japanese civilization ate what they could easily get a hold on. These foods mainly
included rice, vegetables and seafood. As Shinto was practised throughout Japanese society, a culture
developed that created an appreciation towards all life in nature and arts. The contribution of daily life
in Japanese society helped gain its maximum potential. People were able to get use out of the

The Video Is The Prolongation Of Gender Norms And The...
The most problematic aspect of the video is the prolongation of gender norms and the overarching
perception that an unmarried woman must constantly be thinking about her future husband and
planning out the things he has to do to win her heart. The traditional gender role Trainor sings of
shares the notion he should take you on a date, and not forget flowers every anniversary; because if he
treats her Like a lady, you ll be the perfect wife/ Buying groceries, and Buy buying what you need.
Even though Trainor has done the easy part in buying the groceries and parading around like the
perfect wife, she declares she has never learned to cook, and her man should not expect her to be
thinking I ll be home and baking apple pies. Moreover, he has to treat her like a lady, even when she s
acting crazy, because you re never wrong, so why disagree? Yet he has to do his part in telling the
perfect wife, everything s alright, and of course, she will honestly reply with Buy me a ring. Such
lyrics support the man will never be right, and should always apologize even if he knows she is
wrong, another inequality depicted through gender roles.
As expected, it seems Trainor is quite optimistic in sharing the message that everyone is different and
should be accepted just the way they are. Though there is controversy surrounding All About That
Bass, it is a prime example of Trainor suggesting that bodily figure is one of many things that should
be accepted

Essay on Book of John
One of the major themes of the Book of John is to prove that Jesus is the Messiah and the Son of God.
What makes these miracles so special is the difficulty faced to create them and what each is trying to
teach. There are seven main miracles, seven being a significant number throughout the bible, that are
used to help better understand Jesus and his true identity. We can also find a last miracle in His
resurrection, which in itself is simply put that Jesus is a part of God because of how impossible this
action seemed. The last miracle is sometimes skipped as a sign that Jesus is the Christ and Messiah.
This book was written from true events which is why it is made important and allows people to see
who Jesus is. The reason ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They did not learn the lesson that John was getting at, and they could not realize that in front of them
stood Jesus, the true Messiah. No matter what miracle or action was done, their views could not be
turned around to believe in Jesus. The fourth sign involves Jesus multiplying bread and fish which can
be translated to mean that Jesus is the creative word. He is the giver of life, which is what the bread
would represent. Jesus proves himself to be greater than Moses by being the true creator of man s
provisions. Jesus points out that he can give physical life, but most importantly give spiritual life
because he is the true bread of life. The Messiah is expected to feed people miraculously, which is
exactly was Jesus does in the instance. This would then mean the people recognized that he was a
Messianic figure. Due to the misinterpretation because of the earthly minds that people have, they
wanted physical life and not the spiritual sense of it. Therefore, they wanted to make Jesus an earthly
king instead of the Messianic figure that he was. Jesus then had to point out the true meaning of what
he had done emphasizing that those who go to him in faith will find life. False faith would mean that
the people believed in the miracle but not in who Jesus truly was. Receiving life through Jesus would
illustrate a trusting response to him and who he truly was, the son of God. Since God is nature and

Mobile Phones
Brief Description of how mobile phones work:
A mobile phone is a device that allows for two people to be connected over the world by a radio link.
This is done by connecting to a cellular network, which is provided by telecommunication companies
such as Telstra, Optus and Vodaphone being the three main in Australia. Once the cellular network is
established it then connects to a cell, which is a tower, then the other phone. If the phone is out of
reach from one the original tower the cell may transfer the call to another cell, this process is now so
efficient and fast that both caller and receiver would never notice that this has taken place. This uses
electromagnetic waves between substation to substation this is a combined technology of radio and the
telephone. Modern day mobile phones have a wide variety of uses compared to the original mobile
phones such as calling, text messages, multi media messages, email, internet access, games,
applications, calculators, music, videos, high resolution cameras and many other options that a only on

Discipline And Peer Discipline
There are many studies on punishment and discipline. An organization deals with many individuals as
a whole, whether it be a small business or a multi billion corporation Bauman, Tost, and Ong did a
study on how punishment is administered throughout a cooperation based on rank and type of
transgressions they explain that people are less likely to punish a lower level person if they make the
same mistake as a higher level induvial in the company (2016, p 139). One type of discipline in an
organization that happens whether it is a hierocracy or not is peer discipline it is nearly impossible to
avoid. Levine and Modica state The key point is that regardless of contracts and laws the right to
punish exists because other people recognize it as a right and it is part of a social norm that itself is
enforced through peer punishment (2016, p 29). This can be in the form of ridicule, poking fun,
embarrassment or peers pushing for someone s removal. Levine and Modica quote Senator James
Inhofe Army and Marines always feel that when we re out there, we re not doing it for the flag or the
country; we re doing it for the guy in the next foxhole. That is in combat despite the hierarchical
structure and severe punishments for cowardice there are many opportunities to shirk. The

superiors will find out is the enforcement by the guy in the next foxhole. In the military

would probably write me an email cussing me out for pairing chicken with chocolate!
Anyway, I settled on making a spicy butter pecan syrup from scratch. Yes, my loves, we can make
syrup in our kitchens! Fear not, I promise it s not very labor intensive. I toasted my pecans for a few
minutes then I added them to the syrup (which is just sugar and water) then I added some cayenne
pepper, some chipotle powder, some bourbon and of course butter. This syrup is not lacking in the

The Electronic Health Record

2. The electronic health record is the electronic version of a patients medical chart (Centers for
Medicare Medicaid Services, 2012). The information included in the electronic health record is the
patient s demographics and clinical health information, medical history, list of health problems,
progress notes, medications, vital signs, laboratory and radiology reports, and physician orders. The
purpose of the electronic health record is to prevent medical errors and improve care delivery to
provide a safer patient environment (McGonigle Mastrian, 2015).
3. EHRs has been known to be a problem for some physicians or healthcare providers despite of the
advantages. Because of this system physicians are forced to perform some time consuming tasks that
could be assigned to someone with lesser qualification, which creates more work for the physicians.
Physicians described poor Electronic Health Record (EHR) usability that did not match clinical
workflows, time consuming data entry, interference with face to face patient care, and overwhelming
numbers of electronic messages and alerts (Friedberg, Crosson, Tutty). Another issue that was
reported is that there are a lot of electronic alerts and people also could potentially misuse the template

In The Computing World, Advancements Are The Order Of The

The virtual machine environment allows you to boot it on a disc or a live CD. The operating system
one wishes to use will then be tricked into thinking its running on a real physical computer hence it
will run like it s on a normal computer. The use of the operating system will mean that one has to open
the Virtual Machine environment first.
The virtual machine environment is very efficient in use as it can be carried on separate hardware. The
machine can be stored in a big multi gigabyte file on a hard drive in a computer or a separate hard
drive. For that reason, partition a computer for one to use it is not necessary. It is even more efficient
to use it since you can carry it with you whenever one goes to. Unlike the past where one had to have
everything in a computer which meant accessing it is only by carrying the computer around. The
virtual machine environment allows one to carry the something like a virtual computer on a hard

Nonetheless, the Virtual machine has a major setback that may make it have some inconveniences in
some situations. Since they are installed on hardware there is not real; they tend to be slower than
when the operating system is installed on a real hardware. This means that in terms of using an
operating system on a hardware and on virtual system environment it would be faster if the operating

Technology And The Social Construction Of A Younger...
Globilisation is a continually growing and increasing factor in our everyday lives. As technology
improves, the ability for people to communicate increases. The transfer of ideas, information and the
sharing of cultures becomes exceedingly simple. As technology improves the people using that
technology have access to a much wider experience of the world than previously would have been
possible. In this way as each generation grows up in a globalised world, the factors that influence their
social queues, their ability to choose peers, and what is accessible in popular culture, vastly changes
the dynamic that a younger generation would have in comparison to the generation that came before
them. Globilisation is an extremely important factor in the social construction of a younger
generations culture.
The second half of the twentieth century has been a period of massive human migration, both locally
and internationally. This period also saw a huge increase in the transfer of information and ideas
between different countries through various forms of communication, the most predominant in recent
periods being the internet. (Kaufman, 2002, 13) Migrations, and the transfers of new ideas and
information, can bring many different opportunities for the many different generations of family
members. It is common for older family members to find adjustment to a new cultures challenging,
however, younger family members can experience it more readily and in a number of different ways.

Physicalism Vs Dualism
Physicalism vs. Dualism There is without a doubt that there is wonder and question into the existence
of our mind and bodies and the various aspects that they uphold. There are issues discussed that raise
question as to how our mind and body work together as a system. This issue is introduced by
philosophers as the mind body problem. This problem questions the relationship between our mental
states and the physical aspects of our bodies. Throughout debates and time, philosophers have come
up with multiple solutions and ideas to solving and answering this problem. There are two main
responses to this mind body problem: dualism and physicalism. Dualism, being that the mind and
body are different things and physicalism, meaning the mind and body are the same thing and that
everything is entirely made physical. However, it seems that dualism has a lot more explanation
behind it than physicalism and is backed up to be more correct. Dualism was put forth by Descartes, a
philosopher, who had responded to this mind body problem and the account of the relationship
between our mental states and our bodies. Within this idea, there is belief that the mind and the
physical body are two separate and distinct things, meaning the mind is not a material thing like the

centralized position and created the three departments six ministries to better govern the people. In
this way, a strong foundation was laid out for upcoming dynasties. The Imperial examination
flourished, and scholars were patronized once again. The sui dynasty also meant a strict distinction for
the upper classes and the peasants. A law was passed for peasants to only dress themselves in black
blue, while the upper class could wear any other colors and a war against Gaole required military

Class distinctions were made by hairstyles and the idea of self care and the respect of the human body

Big Moving Research Paper
Sometimes I think getting ready for a big move is a blessing in disguise. For anyone who has moved
in the last three years you know the routine: Clean out your drawers and cupboards, rid your home of
clutter and clear off all your counter tops.
In the beginning, it s a bit of a heart stopper seeing all your precious belongings disappearing from
eyesight, but after awhile you start to get used to the sleek look of clean drawers and counter tops.
Suddenly, you re able to get your hands on just what you need at a moment s notice because
everything has its place. This sense of order has a cleansing effect and you vow to continue this new
discipline once you move.
Finally, the day of the big move arrives and off you go to a new home with a ... Show more content on

Clothespins aren t just for hanging wet clothes. They make great closet organizers for hats, mitts and
scarves. Glue the pins to the inside of closet doors and keep your mitts organized in the cold weather.
Use the same idea in an office cupboard to hang memos, cards, photos or small calendars.
6. Use pretty glass knobs or other coordinating hardware to hang tee towels over the sink in the
laundry room.
7. Sometimes candles will sit in a drawer for an entire year without being used, and may easily be
broken during that time. Next time you empty a roll of paper towels, use your empty cardboard roll to
store candles, labeling each tube with the color and size of candle.
8. The next time you have to go poking around a dark place like your crawl space or fusebox, have a
flashlight ready to go. If your flashlight is metal, simply attach a small magnet to the outside of the
fusebox, or glue a strip of Velcro for plastic versions. Don t forget to put batteries in the flashlight.
9. If you purchase large bags of dog food, simply empty into a small garbage pail for easy storage.
Close the lid tightly and the food will stay fresh for

Some cultures praise the wrong doing of their people and celebrate their behavior whether it is wrong or right. Other cultures, will shun a group or individual if he/she was doing something unethical. As a society, America tends to judge an action before we hear the story or background of the person. Our country is a prime example of how moral relativism applies to everyday actions. If someone is committing a crime, the individual will be sentenced and punished if necessary. However in other countries, an individual that has done wrong may go free. For example, the incident that happened in Tunis, Tunsania, now has a video created on the people that committed the acts. In American culture, the people that committed the crime would have been caught, tried and sent to jail. In some cultures, what one deems as unethical, may be another society s norm. To start off, alignment means the interrelationship between the standards, assessment, and instruction we teach. To achieve this, we need to follow the goal of alignment. The goal is student understanding. As teachers, we need to make sure we make meaning of life s big ideas and transfer those big ideas. To accomplish the alignment goal, Grant Wiggins and Jay McTighe had designed an alignment tool that creates validity in the classroom. The alignment tool is called Understanding by Design (UbD). To organize instructional units and plan appropriate classroom activities, teachers must unpack the standards that is, determine the various components in a meaningful sequence of learning steps (Guskey, 2005). The first step to unpack the standards was to look at the content standards and find the big ideas. When I had to look at my content standards, I found it easy to locate. I used the Pennsylvania Department of Education: Standards Aligned System (SAS) to locate them but because Family and Consumer Sciences Standards are so board but yet limited, it became difficult. I was only able to use part of the standards towards my unit. I had to pick and choose which standards will work the best in my unit. Once I found the right standards, I would figure out the big idea, which in my case was Meal Planning . The second step is to take my big idea and turn it into enduring understanding statements, also known as adult speak . Enduring understanding statements should be something that is important to know as an adult. For my enduring understanding, I decided to write: What I want students to understand about Meal Planning is to effectively use meal management principles in everyday life . Charles II Dbq Essay The reign of Charles II and the revolution against his brother James show that England in the later seventeenth century was ready to be Tory and Anglican but not Roman Catholic and Francophile. Discuss. It is not wrong to assume that the consequence of the reigns of Charles and James II was to lead England to be Tory for some time, at least and Anglican rather than Francophile and Catholic. Both Charles and James II had sympathies for Catholicism, and England had had a tense and problematic relationship with Roman Catholicism since the reign of Henry VIII. According to The Theory of Western Thought, The best known rhetorical device developed in The Meaning of Meaning is perhaps the semantic triangle (Golden, Berquist, Coleman, Sproule, 2010, pg. 265). Ogden and Richards determined that people generally see words as things in reality therefore we confuse the symbol or word with the thing or object in reality (Golden, Berquist, Coleman, Sproule, 2010). For example, the word FAN would literally be perpetually twirling propellers to produce wind. Of course, one intellectually understands that the object and the word are not the same thing, however, while humans communicate, as Ogden and Richards argue, we tend to make a necessary connection between the word and the reality of the object, which they refer to as the referent (Golden, Berquist, Coleman, Sproule, 2010). If, I say, now, when, as I conceive and imagine, God orders me to fulfil the philosopher s mission of searching into myself and other men, I were to desert my post through fear of death, or any other fear; that would indeed be strange, and I might justly be arraigned in court for denying the existence of the gods, if I disobeyed the oracle because I was afraid of death: then I should be fancying that I was wise when I was not wise. For this fear of death is indeed the pretence of wisdom, and not real wisdom, being the appearance of knowing the unknown; since no one knows whether death, which they in their fear apprehend to be the greatest evil, may not be the greatest good (Apology, Plato).
