Waxco Executive Summary
Waxco has been manufacturing janitorial supplies in the rural district of Lacon, Mississippi for
25 years. Prior to Waxco s arrival, the businesses in Lacon were traveling 70 miles round trip to
purchase cleaning products. Waxco did not offer better pricing, nor did they pitch sales
gimmicks; their competitive advantage was a much needed delivery service. If the company
requesting service from Waxco operated within a 15 mile radius of the warehouse, delivery was
free and estimated at 20 minutes. Any company up to 15 miles outside of the aforestated
coverage area was assessed a fee. As of late, Waxco has been accumulating negative feedback on
its delivery service. The 20 minute expected time of arrival has extended to more than 45
minutes. Using the 7 tools of quality, Waxco can pinpoint the source of the cause and issue a
remedy for the delivery setback. The 7 tools of quality, provide a simple, yet strong method for
collecting, analyzing and visualizing information from various views (Schule, 2014). The tools
consist of the following items: Flow Chart Run Chart Process Control Chart Check
Sheet Pareto Diagram Cause and Effect Diagram Scatter Diagram Waxco can begin the
process of locating the break in its delivery by first creating a flow chart.... Show more content on

Flow charting the steps of a process provides a picture of what the process looks like and can
shed light on issues within the process (Lotich, 2015). Writing down the step by step procedures
from the time an order is received up to the moment it is placed in the customer s hands, will give
a clear picture of where the glitch is in delivery. Looking at each stage in written form versus
giving a verbal recount of events provides solidarity for referencing the points where change is

The Importance of the Passover Meal in The Gospel of Luke
The Gospel of Luke provides a window into the importance of social standards during the time of its
writing. One social standard the community emphasized was the importance of the communal
celebratory meal. In the Lukan community, these meals were used to display power, provide
benefaction, and were also part of worship. Keeping with the emphasis of meals, Luke used the
tradition of the Passover Meal to illustrate the Last Supper Narrative and its shift in meaning with
regard to the new covenant to the first century Christian community. It should be no surprise that
although the Lukan Jesusfollowed traditions of the community, he also instituted changes paving
the way for new traditions and rites for first century Christians. Due to the power and importance of
communal meals, the Lukan Jesus was able to leverage the meal as a way to establish the
sacramental rite of communion in the first century Christian Church. (Maybe say something in
thesis about new covenant sacramental, but all being invited, ie. Women s role at the meal) The
social setting of the community in the Gospelof Luke appeared to be different from the other
synoptic gospels. The book gave details of community building locations and styles. Due to
architectural descriptions and other terminology used in the narrative, the context of Luke s writing
appears to be more in line with that of a Hellenistic city, than the culture directly ruled by a Roman
government. The community however, was ruled

Joseph was instructed by an angel to keep Mary as his wife, even though she was pregnant from

instructed in matters beyond the scope of this level of revelation and God moved especially to give
them direction as they needed it.
This waiting on the Lord is a matter of continuity, something that one is regularly doing without
extended interruption or lapse. Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and

neither is it unique. Waiting on the Lord is to be as embedded in the life as

How Did Jean Chreten Improve Canada
Prime Ministers have one of the hardest and most stressful jobs in the world. They need to take
care of the people of a country and to make them happy at all times. Prime Ministers need to have
really good leadership skills and need to make the best decisions for the country. If one Prime
Minister has failed to accomplish to improve a country, someone else has to be elected. But for
Jean Chretien, this has not been the case.
Jean Chretien was one of Canada s most important people in its history. He improved Canada s
economy. He was mostly famous for being Canada s 20th Prime Minister for 10 years. Jean
Chretien is from Shawinigan, Canada and was born on January 11, 1934. He studied in Laval
University of Quebec (Quebec City) and studied law. He is a married man and helped Canada in
one of its hardest times. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Around 1990, Chretien became the leader of the Liberal party and went back to the House of
Commons to help out New Brunswick with their BeausГ©jour project. Also, he improved Canada
s state in economy by getting rid of deficit and having more savings by the government to improve
Canada for five straight years. Additionally, he supported war but he wouldn t send troops to Iraq
because of the United Nations resolution.
Back in 2001, Canada was dependant with United States of America. When America got attacked
by the terrorist group Al Queda, Chretien was worried because it s been the first time since World
War 2 that the American border has been a huge problem. It was a problem because Canada needed
the American exports. Chretien wanted to help America but the Canadian troops had very little
recourses and a weak army. But in 2002, Canada sent their troops to help the Americans in
Afghanistan. But Chretien refused to send troops to the Iraq war without Authorization from the

Research Paper On Health Care In Canada

United State and Canada The health care system is a program which is offer by the government in
some country. This institution has different roles in society, but the most important are: to keep,
maintain and provide all mental health to all citizen providing especially medical services. In the
last decade, the Heath Care issues have been very controversial in America. The Health Care
program modification and news implementations started in the 2008 s in the Obama s agenda. The

This can explain some of the characteristic which differ with the Canadian health program. In
another hand, Canada offer Health Care services totally free for any citizen without problem.
Everyone is covered automatically at the moment of birth. The Canadian Health care program
offer not limit in services, it offer to everyone and you keep for lifetime. This give to the
Canadian, the freedom to select any doctor and any hospital. It is why the level of death is
lower, in comparison with the United State when come to this matter. In Canada the services,
medication and hospital fee are controlled by the government, this created a better outcome for
the security of the citizen. This regulation can lead to major saving in term of the GDP per
capita paid by the government in this regard. The government negotiates drug prices so by doing
that prices are more affordable for the people. It s not necessary the uses of co pays and
deductible, but if any type of charged for any reason this can still be a dissent price by the patient.

Euthanasia And The Closely Related Procedure
Euthanasia and the closely related procedure, assisted suicide, are some of the most highly debated
topics in ethics. Although the procedures are different in name, their definitions are quite similar.
Euthanasia can be defined in two ways: passive or active. Passive euthanasia is defined as allowing
the patient s illness to kill them; refusing medical treatment. Active euthanasia, however, is defined
as killing through lethal injection, which also happens to be known as assisted suicide. From the
perspective of the deeply religious to those who just value the life of both themselves and others,
euthanasia and assisted suicide are fancy terms for murder. From my perspective, euthanasia and
assisted suicide are procedures that should only be allowed for those who are suffering from
incurable and physically painful illnesses that incapacitate them to the point where they cannot
properly function in society. What constitutes proper function in society will be discussed later
on, but it plays a pivotal role in the decision that one makes to die or not. Now some may
disagree and say that no matter the circumstance, one does not have the right to end their own life;
this too will be discussed in further detail. This essay will focus on the aspects mentioned above
and will provide the necessary answer to this debate between life and death.
As stated by Nowell Smith, but if we grant, as no doubt we all do, that everyone has a right to life,

The History Behind The Conflict
The History Behind the Conflict
A conflict that started when the Romans invaded and conquered Judea, the homeland of the Jews,
and claimed it to be Palestine. Later on, Palestine was conquered by the Arabs. For more than a
thousand years, the Arabs have inhabited in Palestine.
With much resentment for those who stole their home of ancient times, there was the creation of
the Zionist Movement. The plan was to bring back Jews to Israel, but with the situations, they were
to overlook the large population of the Arabs located there.
In 1917, Palestine was endowed to Britain. Palestine was acknowledged as a League of Nations
mandate to construct a national home for the Jews. Resentment was now towards the Jewish
population for stealing land that the Arabs claimed as theirs. Riots were commonly repeated, and
following was a revolt. Fabricating the rivalry between the Jews and the Arabs in Palestine.
In 1947, the United Nations rationed the land into states between the Arabs and the Jews. This was
not accepted by the Arabs, so a war was declared. With the Jews being victorious, they extended
their state. The Arab states still refused to recognize Israel or make an attempt to make peace.
With the Jews and the Arabs disagreeing with one another, many wars broke out, terror raids
executed, and the Israeli reprisals.

Red Bull Essay examples
Q1: Explain how Red Bull has been able to arouse and activate the consumer decision making
process. Initially, Red Bull made consumers realize that they need this kind of energy drink by
physiological arousal. For blue collar in Thai such as taxi and truck drivers, they usually have to
combat mental and physical fatigue that are their bodily needs at that moment. Red Bullused and
interprets these physiological cues to arouse related needs about energy drinks. After consumers
recognized the needs, Red Bull evoked consumers to link energy drinks to their product according
to the function and prices. People tend to perceive things they need or want (Schiffman et al.,
2014). Thus consumers will remember Red Bull. After... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These help consumers develop enduring perceptions about Red Bull (Batra et al., 2009). Red Bull
has strong brand personality to make customers remember it and separate it from its competitors.
Red Bull s brand image is a red bull with the blue cans. The design is unique and link to the brand
name and its product. All these factors create a image of Red Bull to customers. As consumers
subconsciously exercise selectivity about which aspects of the environment they perceive
(Schiffman et al., 2014), Red Bull could enter the evoked set of consumers as long as it could
catch customers insights. Besides the unique brand, Red Bull handing out free samples of the
product and sales teams driving Minis with a Red Bull can strapped on top of the car. These
actions catch consumers insight and attract them to purchase. All these elements make Red Bull are
able to be successful in entering the evoked set of consumers.
Q3: What could influence a consumer to stop purchasing Red Bull? If consumers do not notice
products, they will not be able to purchase them (Jansson Boyd, 2010). However, in this case, Red
Bull is a well known brand. Therefore this is not an ideal method. If the value of the product cannot
match customers expectation, consumers might stop

Heartbreak album, Pinocchio Story is a crude recording of a live freestyle Kanye performed in a

the trajectory of his life. Kanye s quest for identity formation, kickstarted by his mother s death,
leads him through the realization of his cultural entrapment and shattered psyche due to media
portrayal. This song, Pinocchio Story, encompasses his struggle through his identity crisis,
amplifying said quest with the usage of raw sonic aesthetics. To properly understand the lyrics,

Theories Of Employee Retention
Here in the United States, there has been an emerging issue that has challenged management within
the workforce. That issue is simply put is employee retention. With so many at will employment
options out there, fierce competition amongst business and those businesses looking to operate
more efficiently with less staff, employee retention has become an issue. So we have to ask
ourselves how do we combat this issue? This issue is a very complex one here in America because
of the melting pot we are with cultures, beliefs, structures, restrictions, affirmative action and etc.

Fourth would be how to overcome low motivation. With these factors, ideas of how to communicate
the plan within the organization must be implemented. The Sheriff has hired an expert advisor in
the field of Effective law enforcement organizational planning when understaffed to achieve the
aforementioned. For the purpose of this paper let s say that I will be this expert.
One of the key factors for retention strategy and hiring of new employees goes far and beyond a
competitive benefits package and salary. However the latter is very much so important and
would need to be addressed. After brief study of surrounding law enforcement agencies I have
come to the conclusion that MCSO is behind a little when it comes to compensation and benefits.
The neighboring county of Palm Beach has a starting salary of $47,220 for law enforcement
positions (Sentinel, A. R. 2014). This is approximately a full $7,000 more than MCSO s starting
salary. Not to mention the Fire Department within Martin County has a starting salary around
$48,000. In my professional opinion public service is public service and both the fire department
and sheriff s office fall under this umbrella. There needs to be more parity here because it seems to
be a common complaint amongst the employees of the sheriff s office which negatively affects
motivation and morale.
Research suggest that employees rank recognition, flexibility and training as top priorities for

Investigating The Osmotic Regulation On The Kidney
The purpose of the experiment is to test the fluid balance in the body, by studying the osmotic
regulation in the kidney (Manuguid, et al., 2015) Also, test the changes in urine pH, urine flow rate
and specific density among non drinking and drinking groups.
The main purpose of avoiding food and drink prior to the lab was to eliminate the effects that
could occur in the class data, reduce the amount of error and to get a fair result by having
everyone start at the same time. If each student did not monitor or follow the correct procedure, this
would have affected the result by having a lot differences in the rate of urine flow, urine density and
the pH level. Therefore, we wouldn t have an accurate results to make any kind of conclusion out
of it and we will have a result in a wide range. All the groups drank according to their weight and
this affected the result in terms of their osmolarity, hormone secretion, and urine flow rate because
all the groups ingested different amount of the drinks. Based on the result from table 1, the
physiological state of the subjects at T0 was negative for blood, ketone, glucose and protein. In
figures 1 4, all of the subjects pH level was about 6; urine volume rate and urine voided is about
the same amount for all the groups.
There were changes in the variables between T0 and T30 because at T0, we started with no drinks
and we saw that the non drinking group and drinking groups had about the same level of the urine
flow rate at T=0. At

Why Grammar Is Important
A wise man once told me, first impressions are everything. If you think about it, it appears to be
true. You only get one chance to make a first impression, there are no do overs. Generally, a first
impression lets others get a feel of how that person is going to act. Imagine meeting a co worker
with poor grammar for the first time. It would most likely lead you to assume that they have a
very mediocre education level. As you see, grammar is a key factor in the workplace. Some
reasons to why it is important is; Proper grammar affects how others feel about or respond to each

Poor grammar could keep you from getting a job. Kyle Wiens, CEO of iFixit, gives all of his
job applicants a grammar test. He says I will not hire people who has bad grammar unless they
have serious extenuating circumstances like dyslexia or those who are learning English as a
second language. As you see people are ultimately judged by their grammar. Mr. Wiens would
not want someone who uses to when they are supposed to use too or vise versa represent his
company. Grammar in this day age can also define a person, especially if one does not know the
other particularly well. Poor Grammar can also display a person s intelligence or laziness. In
business there is a famous saying, Time is money.Money is time. This means that every second
is crucial. There is not time to be wasting or to be making mistakes even though it will occur.
Having people that can communicate effectively in the workplace is a key time management
skill. It will cause less confusion if employees has good grammar versus one s with bad grammar.
For example, if a person with bad grammar was trying to explain an idea to a co worker, the co
worker would spend more time piecing together what the other person is saying then actually

This can also be represented within the child s visual schedule to provide understanding for the
child ( Strategies for Teachers ). A recess buddy allows for a child to have guaranteed social
interaction during any play time. It can be difficult for children with autism to make friends
because they have a hard time understanding social cues ( Your ATN@Work ). The recess buddy
can also provide a safe and comfortable environment for the child. Since this will be represented
in the child s personal visual schedule, the child will have an understanding of who they can
spend their social time with. The child s friend can give them comfort in any situation, and allow
them to develop their social skills. In order to provide a child the ability to communicate
effectively with their peers during their play time, assistive technology can be used. Picture
Exchange Cards can be an effective way for students with autism to use pictures of an object to
show to others and communicate what they need. Sentences can also eventually be formed with
these cards, so the students can progress in learning how to communicate effectively ( Autism ).
The cost to implement Picture Exchange Cards ranges from $19.99 to $69.99 for a full set of

Symbolism In A Hanging By George Orwell
By examining George Orwell s short story, A Hanging, one can see that the symbolism of the
unexpected canine, and the symbolic action of stepping around a puddle can illustrate the
importance of each individual life. To start off, it is evident in the story that the presence of an
animal was not a common occurrence within the walls of the prison. As the narrator observed the
prisonerdue to be hanged, he saw that he was not much more than a Hindu man approaching death.
But unexpectedly, a joyous dog appeared and approached the scene of people and went straight for
that Hindu man. It s love and attention for the prisoner put everyone around them in shock, as the
action began to humanize and be rid the anonymity that the prisoner s life once... Show more

The realization of the catastrophic deeds being carried through to be rid those full, healthy lives
reinstated the narrator s morality for that short period of time. The immediate transition of thoughts
is clearly demonstrated when the narrator states, It is curious, but till that moment I had never
realized what it means to destroy a healthy, conscious man. When I saw the prisoner step aside to
avoid the puddle, I saw the mystery, the unspeakable wrongness, of cutting a life short when it is in
full tide (Orwell 2). If it were not for the prisoner caring about such a miniscule act, the sensitization
towards the prejudice murders being committed would not have occurred as strongly to the narrator.
The unspeakable wrongness of cutting a life short when it is in full tide developed his
understanding of the wrongdoing behind the negative imperialistic environment that surrounds
him. This emphasizes to the reader how a slight reaction that is often dismissed, can symbolize the
deeper value of a healthy, conscious man having enough dignity left to avoid such a small mishap

Quantum Neural Network
1.1 Introduction and Background
The eld of articial neural networks (ANNs) draws its inspiration from the working of human brain
and the way brain processes information. An ANN is a directed graph with highly interconnected
nodes called neurons. Each edge of the graph has a weight associated with it to model the synaptic
eciency. The training process involves updating the weights of the network in such a way that the
network learns to solve the problem.
The neurons in the network work together to solve specic problems.
The network can be trained to do various tasks like pattern recognition, data classication, function

proposed by Hugh Everett in the year 1957 [3].
4 CHAPTER 1. QUANTUM NEURAL NETWORK
It says that there exists an innite number of coexisting universes and each possible outcome of an
event occurs in a parallel universe. According to the theory superposition states of a wavefunction
lies in dierent universes and the quantum system interacts with itself in dierent universes. Any act of
measurement sees the state only in one universe.
This interpretation can help in better understanding of the eld of quan tum information.

Soft Determinism Is Compatible
Compatibilism is the philosophical belief that determinism is compatible with human freedom. To
define determinism as a metaphysical thesis that the facts and occurrences of the past, following the
laws of nature and physics will give to only one possible future outcome in that moment.
Compatibilism breaks down into several versions for instance, soft determinismor self
determination, classical, contemporary, and opposing philosophical thoughts such as
incompatibilism, liberalism and hard determinism. Soft determinism states that humans are
determined and still free, when an individual acts freely by being the cause of their own actions.
What an individual wants is determined by external events such as genetics, culture or upbringing

The first is surface freedom which is when an individual has the power to make their own choices.
The second kind is deeper freedom, which is the ability of an individual to form their own desires.
Free will can manipulated by many external factors including advertisements and peer pressure.
Free will in relation to compatibilism is the unique ability of an individual to exercise control
over their choices in a manner necessary for moral responsibility. A common misconception is
because free will is compatible with all events being caused means free means caused. Free does
not mean caused, in any aspect. The problem of free will and compatibilism is that will is
determined by prior events in the casual chain, which causes and determines the actions of those
involved. It has been suggested that chance and random occurrences is an explanation for freedom,
however if something was truly random then it would break the casual chain. It could then be
argued that because of chance outcomes from an individuals action that they could not be morally
responsible. It is common for philosophers to counter this argument by stating that chance is an
illusion, Albert Einstein once stated God does not play dice implying that everything has a cause
even if we have not figured it out

HISTORY The Truth in Lending Act (hereafter TILA ) has engendered many conflicting
opinions regarding two distinct issues: first, what actions constitute the act of rescission under
15 U.S.C. В§ 1635 (hereafter В§ 1635); and second, how courts should apply the Act s statute of
limitations under В§ 1635(f) to acts of rescission under В§ 1635(a). The issue of a mortgagor s
act of rescission has been widely debated since the Consumer Leasing Act of 1976 amended TILA
to include the provisions at issue, and the courts cannot agree on what is actually required to effect
a rescission, while the Supreme Court has definitively resolved the issue of temporality when a

My Antonia Theme Analysis
The book My Antonia carried many themes throughout the book, along with many different ideas.
In this particular section (pages 240 264), the theme was reminiscence. In this part of the reading,
Jim returns to visit Antonia on two separate occasions. Each time, Jim and Antonia relive the
memories of their past. Throughout the book, the idea of reminiscence is found in the tone/mood,
the characters, and the setting. Willa Cathers book, My Antonia, displays a recurring theme of
reminiscence.
In My Antonia, the tone of the author reflected how they felt towards the situation. In this case,
the writer looked upon the past with fondness. At one point when Jim and Antonia were talking,
Antonia says, I m so glad we had each other when we were little. (p. 251) These words show the
tone of the section. They look back at the past and their experiences with a positive attitude. They
had their ups and downs, especially due to the move here and how rough it was at first, but they
ultimately look back at the past and feel good. They felt nostalgic towards the old days. This tone
of happiness is reflected in the mood the reader feels when they read the story. When they read
about Jim and Antonia s past times, it gives the reader a sense of comfort and fondness, and
ultimately makes them feel good. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

little girl s old enough to tell her all about the things we used to do. (p. 251) In contrast, Jim looks
back the old days, not by talking to others but by recalling his accounts in his mind and on paper.

The Enterprise Architecture ( Ea ) Essay
Body
Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a process of describing the structure and behavior of an enterprise
(including its information systems), then planning and governing changes to improve the integrity
and flexibility of the enterprise.
Well Gartner defines EA is the process of translating business vision and strategy into effective
enterprise change by creating, communicating and improving the key requirements, principles and
models that describe the enterprise s future state and enable its evolution .
Basically EA is all about technology planning. In other words EA is a component of the overall
strategic planning in a company. The company s strategic planning is done by the CEO. This is
where senior leader directs change in the company. When we talk about change, change in roles and
responsibilities, processes such as data and information, existing or new applications, infrastructure
and possibly technology.
Enterprise Architecture Its Purpose
As we all know the company is focused on making a profit. The purpose of EA is to maximize
investment returns, improve performance and embrace emerging technologies that support the

The Jerk Case Study
As living creature s animals and people iron is one of many essential minerals we that need to
stay alive. Iron is required to produce red blood cells through a process called haematopoiesis. It is
also an important component of the red blood cells (in hemoglobin) where the iron is present when
that is transporting oxygenfrom the lungs then throughout the body. Once the oxygen delivered the
iron binds to the carbon dioxide back to the lungs and the carbon is exhaled. It has many other
functions: maintain homeostasis, metabolism(conversion of blood sugar to energy, production of
enzymes, amino acids, new cells, hormones, etc.). The metabolisms process is allowing people
to maintain healthy cells of skin, nails, hair, internal organs, and everything else that allows a
person to be alive. However too little iron could cause a condition known as iron deficiency such
as anemia. If someone has too much iron it can cause a person to become toxic as the storage of
iron increases it would cause Hemochromatosis and other conditions. For the research, I have

Euripides And The Tragical History Of Doctor Faustus, By...
From childhood, all individuals are taught that, whether it be at the hands of one s parents, the
government, or even some form of divine intervention (like karma, or god), there is an
ultimately inescapable judgment that awaits everyone who transgresses against that which is
right or just. Take from the cookie jar before dinner? No TV for a week. Break the law by
stealing from a store, or worse? Spend days, or years, incarcerated. Fail to abide by a number of
seemingly arbitrary moral codes? Spend all of eternity being tormented in a realm of fire after you
die. But despite how deeply the concept of crime and punishment is ingrained in each culture of
each era since the dawn of humankind, there remains an insatiable desire to rebel against the
standards that are upheld by society as right, whether it be for personal worldly gain, out of
academic curiosity, or righteous indignation.
As a people, humanity has long expressed rebellion of thought through the arts, exploring the
taboos of society, and asking questions about why we live as we do, and what the implications
may be, not just for the world, but for our souls. Two such pieces of art are the classic plays Medea,
by Euripides, and The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, by Christopher Marlowe. Though these
two great works couldn t be more different in setting or thematic subject matter (and naturally so,
since they re separated by over 1,000 years), they utilize similar theatrical tropes to explore the

There Are Numerous Public Open Spaces In Urban Areas, Yet
There are numerous public open spaces in urban areas, yet surprisingly many of them suffer from
people s under use rather than overuse of them, even on the most beautiful days. The film focuses
on discovering the different elements that, altogether, create successful open spaces in urban areas.
This was done through observing what people did and where they sat in those places, and
identifying what attracts people to certain open spaces more than others. The first elementis sit able
space . People tend to sit where there are places to sit. More importantly, sit able spaces need to
be comfortable, hospitable, not isolated, not socially awkward (e.g. Small benches), and there
needs to be a variety of them to allow people the freedom to... Show more content on

The sixth element is triangulation . This is achieved by having something in open spaces which
attracts people, brings them together, and creates and environment which allows for conversations
between strangers to occur (e.g. sculptures, mimes, etc.).
This film opened my eyes to many of the different human behavioral patterns and community
design elements which I never really noticed or thought about before. It also made me realize
how elements as simple as the ones introduced in the film can be crucial for creating a great
urban space. For instance, I was very surprised to know that most people in open spaces spend
their time looking at what other people are doing, and that most people do not stop and talk in
the middle of large spaces, instead they do so at steps, flag poles, edges, and things of the like. I
also found it very interesting that men tend to occupy the front row of table seats in open
spaces, while women tend to occupy the back row of table seats in open spaces. There were
three things in the movie which really stood out to me and made me stop and think. The first
thing was that it never occurred to me how cruel it is to put water before people in open spaces,
then disallow them from using it. The purpose of open spaces should be to bring enjoyment and
comfort to its users. So if there is water in an open space, it should contribute to the enjoyment of
people, otherwise its presence is useless. The second thing

The lead paint crisis was the first to surface, and small magnetic pieces were the second. From an

depending on the reaction of the consumers. The employees have their safety at stake in the form
of job security. If Mattel s profits go down, there may be layoffs and Chinese employees may be
without jobs if they work for the companies that produced the toys with lead paint. Finally, the
competitor s stakes would be profits and reputation. Their profits may change especially with the

The Importance Of Obedience, And Purity Of Worship
A promise kept, military advancement, faith, a land gift, courage, the importance of obedience,
and purity of worship. These are just a few of the important themes identified in the book of
Joshua. Joshua is the sixth book in the Greek and English Bible; and the first of the twelve
historical books. In the Hebrew Scriptures, Joshua is listed as the first book in the former Prophets
section . The book of Joshua is a history book, containing the account of God fulfilling His promise
to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Mosesand the rest of the Israelites.
Through this historical narrative we see a faithful God deliver on a promise made hundreds of
years earlier, a new leader come into his own as he leads his people into Canaan and we come to
understand the extreme importance of reading, meditating on and obeying the Word of God. In
this book Joshua tells us how Israel went from a nomadic lifestyle to a nation at rest in a
permanent land. It all starts off with God commissioning Joshua as the new leader of the Nation of
Israel. Next, instead of seeing an unbroken string of military successes and conquests, we read
about the high and low points of the nation s growing possession of Canaan .
From a literary point of view the author of this book uses the narrative style. There is also
evidence of installation genre, and phrase repetition. Verses 1 9 of chapter are the account of God
commissioning Joshua as the new leader of Israel. The commissioning has two parts. First is the

What Is The Difference Between Ancient Mesopotamia And...
Ancient Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt are two of the earliest and greatest civilizations to ever

Mesopotamia left the greatest impact on posterity.
To begin, the Sumerians of ancient Mesopotamia introduced the first forms of written language

into text. It was extremely important and allowed for the beginning of record keeping of all sorts.
At this point, writing was used only for record keeping, and thus only concrete words(nouns) such
as ox , grain and sheep were needed. As society became more complex, the language evolved
enabling signs to be used...and eventually abstract thoughts (Newman 44). The world came to know
a unique way of expressing thoughts and learned to convey messages through writing. From then

Robert Ader Biography Essay
Robert Ader was born in the Bronx on 20 February 1932, the elder of Nathan and Mae Ader s two
sons. He attended the Horace Mann School in the Bronx, and in 1949 entered Tulane University,
from which he graduated in 1953 with a B.S. in psychology. Immediately entering the graduate
program at Cornell University, Ader earned a Ph.D. in psychology in 1957. That same year he was
hired as a part time instructor in the Dept. of Psychology at the University of Rochester, and part
time instructor in the Dept. of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester School of Medicine

A pioneer in a field of study that was initially greeted with scepticism, Ader s collaboration with
such figures as Nicholas Cohen and Jan Moynihan, their meticulous research, and cogent arguments
were central to establishing the nervous system s influence on the immune system. Ader authored or
co authored more than two hundred journal articles and book chapters, founded and edited for
many years the periodical Brain, behavior and immunity, and served on the editorial boards of
half a dozen other psychobiology and behavioral journals. He was elected president of the
American Psychosomatic Society (1979 80), president of the International Society for
Developmental Psychobiology (1981 82), president of the Academy of Behavioral Medicine

Review Of Al Davis Behind The Raider s Shield By Al Davis
Al Davis behind the Raider s Shield is a biography of Allen Davis. He was considered by people to
be a football legend. This biography was written by his former employees Bruce Kebric and Jon
Kingdon, with Steve Corkran, a sports writer. Al Davis, as he was fondly called, was the owner
and the general manager of the Oakland Raidersfootball team. Al from Brooklyn, New York, he
often bragged about how tough his neighborhood was growing up. He extremely loved the
football games and about his team, the Oakland Raiders. He was a man who recognized who he
was and commanded respect everywhere he went. He generated the image he wanted the public to
see. He was highly respected and feared by many people in the NFL.
He mastered the art of getting information from people without giving up any information. He led
the Oakland Raiders to many victories. The Oakland Raiders also suffered a considerable amount
of loss. Amidst ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The narration shifts to the first person point of view at several times. The authors vividly
described their opinion of whom they believed Al Davis was. It was clearly evident that
although they respected and even revered him, they disagreed with his believes and his method
of leadership. He was superstitious at times. He was mostly autocratic in his leadership. He
frequently ignored his scouts and his coaches. He implemented decisions he thought was best
and he never settled for less. He didn t follow their advice. I admired Al s strength and
determination. He had many inspirational quotes like, All I do is win and Just win baby win .
He never discriminated against anyone based on their sex or color or background. He was the
first NFL owner to draft an African American quarterback, the first to hire a Latino coach and the
first to hire a female as his chief executive. It was evident that he was not racist or sexist. I learned
some terms used in football like running back and

Assess the Usefulness of Functionalist Approaches in...
Functionalists look at society as a whole. They explain crime and deviance by stating that the
source of deviance lies in the nature of society rather than the individual. Durkheim states that
crime and deviance is inevitable and a certain level is necessary for society to exist. He also
claims that it is a positive aspect of society as it shows examples of rights and wrongs within
society and by punishing offenders, through ways such as public humiliation and portraying crime
as wrong, raises awareness of crime and therefore deters others from committing crime along with
creating a collective conscience. He also argues that crime and deviance allows social change to
occur which is needed in order for society to remain stable. Durkheim s... Show more content on

He believes that the formation of the subcultures release the status frustration by creating their own
values for achieving status and therefore deviant behaviour becomes normal and valued within the
group. This is useful when looking at explanations of crime as it highlights that crime and
deviance is a collective rational response to the norms and values of society. However, Cohen fails
to consider why women in society commit crimes and form subcultures. He has also been criticised
as we cannot be sure that the working class know the middle class values enough in order to
purposely reject them. Furthermore, Cloward and Ohlin combine Merton and Cohen s theories by
stating that there is a legitimate opportunity such as passing exams and getting a job, and an
illegitimate opportunity, such as gangs. They believe that the working class have easier access to
the illegitimate structure meaning that it is easier for them to commit more crimes and so face
more pressure to do so. Cloward and Ohlin claim that there are 3 types of subcultures: criminal
subculture in which people climb the professional criminal hierarchy, conflict subculture in which
there is little/no social cohesion and retreatest subcultures in which people fail in both the legitimate
and illegitimate opportunity and retreat to things such as alcohol and drugs. This is useful when
looking at explanations of crime as it highlights the

Environmental Effects Of Acid Rain And Its Effects On The...
The effects of acid rain greatly affect the environment. Some lakes become so acidic fish cannot
survive in them. The degradation of minerals present in soil produces metal ions. These are
subsequently washed away, causing the release of toxic substances, such as Al3+, into the water
supply. This also causes the loss of important minerals, such as Ca2+, from the soil, killing trees
and crops. Long term effects from global warming include landslides and increased seismic and
volcanic activities, due to land no longer being depressed by the weight of ice. Tsunamis could
also be generated, landslides caused by warmer ocean water thawing ocean floor permafrost or
releasing gas hydrates. Some world regions already show an increase in landslides, such as the
French Alps.
Humphry Davy first successfully introduced the concept of a fuel cell in the 19th century. This
was followed by by the scientist Christian Friedrich Schönbein, who made work on what were to
become fuel cells in 1838. William Grove, a chemist, physicist and lawyer, widely known for
basically inventing the fuel cell in 1839. Grove conducted experiments with a gas voltaic battery,
proving that electrictricity could be produced from an electrochemical reaction between hydrogen
and oxygen over a platinum catalyst. With the 1970s came the emergence of environmental
awareness amongst governments, prompted by concerns over air pollution. From this, clean air
legislation was passed in America and Europe. Clean air and

Sodium Chloride Sucrose And Potato Osmosis
The Effect of Sodium Chloride, Glucose, and Sucrose on Potato Tissue
By Rachel Thurmes
ABSTRACT
This experiment examined the water potential of white potatoes, and compared them to those
previously recorded. The validity of van t Hoff s Law was also tested by using different solutes in
which to test the potatoes. This was done by measuring potato core weight before and after soaking
them in solutions of different dissociations, and determining the percent weight change. Then van
t Hoff s Law was used to calculate the water potential of the potatoes. The water potential of the
potatoes soaked in sodium chloride was 5.67, glucose was 5.92, and sucrose was 5.66. These results
do not agree with van t Hoff s Law.
INTRODUCTION
This experiment examined the relationship between different concentrations of sodium chloride,
glucose and sucrose, and potato tissue. The water potential was estimated through a series of steps
leading us to find the point at which the percent weight change of the potatoes was zero, then using
van t Hoff s law to calculate the osmotic potential. Water potential is the chemical potential of water
compared to that of pure water, which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This experiment went through a series of steps, starting with placing 100mL of different
concentrations of sodium chloride (NaCl) in separate beakers. Sections of potato were punched out,
then dried and recorded for initial weight. Five were placed in each concentration of the sodium
chloride, and left to sit for an hour and a half. The mixtures were swirled about every fifteen
minutes to prevent shells of water from building up around the core and causing error in the results.
After the hour and a half, we removed the potato sections, dried them and then weighed them for the
final weight. The percent change in weight was calculated using the equation % Change =
100*(Final Wt Initial Wt)/Initial

Benefits Of Team Sports
Many people love to praise victory on the playing field, cheer for their favorite team and play
sports. However, is there more to sports than just fitness? Is playing a team sport actually good
for us as we make it seem or is it just a fun way to pass the time? Actually, participating in any
team sport has a positive effect on many areas of life. Some are well known and others may
surprise you. We all know that playing any kind of sport comes with physical benefits like
strengthening the body, developing coordination, and promoting physical fitness, but is that all
that the player gains? First of all, it is well accepted that exercise is good for our bodies and
minds. Exercising gives us stronger bones, clears out cholesterol from out arteries, and
decreases the risk of stroke, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Does that mean we get much
benefit of going to the gym five days a week as we would by joining a team and competing? Here
is where it gets interesting; studies show that if you find a sport and a team you like you will
gain all sorts of benefits that go beyond the physical and mental of exercise alone. Literature

As we all know exercising burns calories and makes you maintain a healthy diet plan. As Carson
Barrett once said The physical benefits of playing sports are numerous. Exercise in general
controls weight by burning calories, improves the functioning of the cardiovascular system,
placing a lower strain on the heart, and increases an athlete s energy level while improving the
quality of sleep. When people are occupied with playing the game they often forget that they are
indeed becoming more and fitter. This gives them an advantage because they aren t doing the same

Registered Nurse Personality Analysis
Finding the best people to work in organizations has peaked over time due to many companies
downsizing (Frankenfield, Kleiner, 2000). For this reason, most organizations are no longer
exclusively relying on interviews in the screening process of new employees. The purpose of pre
employment testing is to aid in predicting future behavior (Bloomquist, Kleiner, 2000). The use of
employment testing has increased over time in order to find and hire the best employee. The
information I plan to collect with this assessment is risky pattern behaviors and emotions that have
the potential to prevent a potential job candidate from being effective in the workplace. For
example, the related constructs that will be analyzed that are associated with... Show more content

Additionally, personality tests aid in identifying potential risky behavioral or emotional patterns that
will prevent a potential job candidate from working efficiently and effectively. Traits such as stress
tolerance, initiative, and emotional stability are often measured with personality assessments in
order to determine how successful an individual will be in the organization (Society for Industrial
and Organizational Psychology, 2015). This personality assessment will measure and identify
performance risks centered on personality, and emotional habits related to the healthcare field in the
pre hire stage for a Registered Nurse position. Furthermore, it will help to identify potential risky
behaviors associated with tolerance, openness, stress, excitability, cautiousness, diligence, and
boldness. This assessment will aid in identifying, if any, potential risky patterns that can possibly
have a negative impact on their job effectiveness and relationships, and can bring potential harm to
the patients, co workers, organization, etc. This will be done by analyzing the item responses to
each statement and determining if the response could potentially be a risky behavior in the
organization s climate and culture. While, this assessment can be used to identify potential risky
behaviors, it can also display results that are conducive to constructive emotional and behavioral

  • 2. Waxco Executive Summary Waxco has been manufacturing janitorial supplies in the rural district of Lacon, Mississippi for 25 years. Prior to Waxco s arrival, the businesses in Lacon were traveling 70 miles round trip to purchase cleaning products. Waxco did not offer better pricing, nor did they pitch sales gimmicks; their competitive advantage was a much needed delivery service. If the company requesting service from Waxco operated within a 15 mile radius of the warehouse, delivery was free and estimated at 20 minutes. Any company up to 15 miles outside of the aforestated coverage area was assessed a fee. As of late, Waxco has been accumulating negative feedback on its delivery service. The 20 minute expected time of arrival has extended to more than 45 minutes. Using the 7 tools of quality, Waxco can pinpoint the source of the cause and issue a remedy for the delivery setback. The 7 tools of quality, provide a simple, yet strong method for collecting, analyzing and visualizing information from various views (Schule, 2014). The tools consist of the following items: Flow Chart Run Chart Process Control Chart Check Sheet Pareto Diagram Cause and Effect Diagram Scatter Diagram Waxco can begin the process of locating the break in its delivery by first creating a flow chart.... • 3. The Importance of the Passover Meal in The Gospel of Luke The Gospel of Luke provides a window into the importance of social standards during the time of its writing. One social standard the community emphasized was the importance of the communal celebratory meal. In the Lukan community, these meals were used to display power, provide benefaction, and were also part of worship. Keeping with the emphasis of meals, Luke used the tradition of the Passover Meal to illustrate the Last Supper Narrative and its shift in meaning with regard to the new covenant to the first century Christian community. It should be no surprise that although the Lukan Jesusfollowed traditions of the community, he also instituted changes paving the way for new traditions and rites for first century Christians. Due to the power and importance of communal meals, the Lukan Jesus was able to leverage the meal as a way to establish the sacramental rite of communion in the first century Christian Church. (Maybe say something in thesis about new covenant sacramental, but all being invited, ie. Women s role at the meal) The social setting of the community in the Gospelof Luke appeared to be different from the other synoptic gospels. The book gave details of community building locations and styles. Due to architectural descriptions and other terminology used in the narrative, the context of Luke s writing appears to be more in line with that of a Hellenistic city, than the culture directly ruled by a Roman government. The community however, was ruled ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Acts 10:19 20) The church of Antioch, as they ministered to the Lord and fasted, was collectively informed by the Holy Spirit that he had called Barnabas and Saul for a special evangelistic mission and that the saints were to separate them for that purpose. (Acts 13:2) Joseph was instructed by an angel to keep Mary as his wife, even though she was pregnant from someone else. In each case, believers were instructed in matters beyond the scope of this level of revelation and God moved especially to give them direction as they needed it. • 7. Euthanasia And The Closely Related Procedure Euthanasia and the closely related procedure, assisted suicide, are some of the most highly debated topics in ethics. Although the procedures are different in name, their definitions are quite similar. Euthanasia can be defined in two ways: passive or active. Passive euthanasia is defined as allowing the patient s illness to kill them; refusing medical treatment. Active euthanasia, however, is defined as killing through lethal injection, which also happens to be known as assisted suicide. From the perspective of the deeply religious to those who just value the life of both themselves and others, euthanasia and assisted suicide are fancy terms for murder. From my perspective, euthanasia and assisted suicide are procedures that should only be allowed for those who are suffering from incurable and physically painful illnesses that incapacitate them to the point where they cannot properly function in society. What constitutes proper function in society will be discussed later on, but it plays a pivotal role in the decision that one makes to die or not. Now some may disagree and say that no matter the circumstance, one does not have the right to end their own life; this too will be discussed in further detail. This essay will focus on the aspects mentioned above and will provide the necessary answer to this debate between life and death. As stated by Nowell Smith, but if we grant, as no doubt we all do, that everyone has a right to life, if follows as once that we have a right ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As consumers subconsciously exercise selectivity about which aspects of the environment they perceive (Schiffman et al., 2014), Red Bull could enter the evoked set of consumers as long as it could catch customers insights. Besides the unique brand, Red Bull handing out free samples of the product and sales teams driving Minis with a Red Bull can strapped on top of the car. One of the key factors for retention strategy and hiring of new employees goes far and beyond a competitive benefits package and salary. Not to mention the Fire Department within Martin County has a starting salary around $48,000. In my professional opinion public service is public service and both the fire department and sheriff s office fall under this umbrella. Investigating The Osmotic Regulation On The Kidney The purpose of the experiment is to test the fluid balance in the body, by studying the osmotic regulation in the kidney (Manuguid, et al., 2015) Also, test the changes in urine pH, urine flow rate and specific density among non drinking and drinking groups. The main purpose of avoiding food and drink prior to the lab was to eliminate the effects that could occur in the class data, reduce the amount of error and to get a fair result by having everyone start at the same time. If each student did not monitor or follow the correct procedure, this would have affected the result by having a lot differences in the rate of urine flow, urine density and the pH level. Therefore, we wouldn t have an accurate results to make any kind of conclusion out of it and we will have a result in a wide range. All the groups drank according to their weight and this affected the result in terms of their osmolarity, hormone secretion, and urine flow rate because all the groups ingested different amount of the drinks. Based on the result from table 1, the physiological state of the subjects at T0 was negative for blood, ketone, glucose and protein. In figures 1 4, all of the subjects pH level was about 6; urine volume rate and urine voided is about the same amount for all the groups. You only get one chance to make a first impression, there are no do overs. Generally, a first impression lets others get a feel of how that person is going to act. Imagine meeting a co worker with poor grammar for the first time. It would most likely lead you to assume that they have a very mediocre education level. As you see, grammar is a key factor in the workplace. As you see people are ultimately judged by their grammar. Mr. Wiens would not want someone who uses to when they are supposed to use too or vise versa represent his company. Grammar in this day age can also define a person, especially if one does not know the other particularly well. Poor Grammar can also display a person s intelligence or laziness. In business there is a famous saying, Time is money.Money is time. This means that every second is crucial. There is not time to be wasting or to be making mistakes even though it will occur. Having people that can communicate effectively in the workplace is a key time management skill. It will cause less confusion if employees has good grammar versus one s with bad grammar. Symbolism In A Hanging By George Orwell By examining George Orwell s short story, A Hanging, one can see that the symbolism of the unexpected canine, and the symbolic action of stepping around a puddle can illustrate the importance of each individual life. To start off, it is evident in the story that the presence of an animal was not a common occurrence within the walls of the prison. As the narrator observed the prisonerdue to be hanged, he saw that he was not much more than a Hindu man approaching death. When I saw the prisoner step aside to avoid the puddle, I saw the mystery, the unspeakable wrongness, of cutting a life short when it is in full tide (Orwell 2). If it were not for the prisoner caring about such a miniscule act, the sensitization towards the prejudice murders being committed would not have occurred as strongly to the narrator. The unspeakable wrongness of cutting a life short when it is in full tide developed his understanding of the wrongdoing behind the negative imperialistic environment that surrounds him. The training process involves updating the weights of the network in such a way that the network learns to solve the problem. The neurons in the network work together to solve specic problems. A common misconception is because free will is compatible with all events being caused means free means caused. Free does not mean caused, in any aspect. The problem of free will and compatibilism is that will is determined by prior events in the casual chain, which causes and determines the actions of those involved. It has been suggested that chance and random occurrences is an explanation for freedom, however if something was truly random then it would break the casual chain. It could then be argued that because of chance outcomes from an individuals action that they could not be morally responsible. It is common for philosophers to counter this argument by stating that chance is an illusion, Albert Einstein once stated God does not play dice implying that everything has a cause even if we have not figured it out ... • 26. Euripides And The Tragical History Of Doctor Faustus, By... From childhood, all individuals are taught that, whether it be at the hands of one s parents, the government, or even some form of divine intervention (like karma, or god), there is an ultimately inescapable judgment that awaits everyone who transgresses against that which is right or just. Take from the cookie jar before dinner? No TV for a week. Break the law by stealing from a store, or worse? Spend days, or years, incarcerated. Fail to abide by a number of seemingly arbitrary moral codes? Spend all of eternity being tormented in a realm of fire after you die. But despite how deeply the concept of crime and punishment is ingrained in each culture of each era since the dawn of humankind, there remains an insatiable desire to rebel against the standards that are upheld by society as right, whether it be for personal worldly gain, out of academic curiosity, or righteous indignation. As a people, humanity has long expressed rebellion of thought through the arts, exploring the taboos of society, and asking questions about why we live as we do, and what the implications may be, not just for the world, but for our souls. Two such pieces of art are the classic plays Medea, by Euripides, and The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, by Christopher Marlowe. This is achieved by having something in open spaces which attracts people, brings them together, and creates and environment which allows for conversations between strangers to occur (e.g. sculptures, mimes, etc.). This film opened my eyes to many of the different human behavioral patterns and community design elements which I never really noticed or thought about before. It also made me realize how elements as simple as the ones introduced in the film can be crucial for creating a great urban space. For instance, I was very surprised to know that most people in open spaces spend their time looking at what other people are doing, and that most people do not stop and talk in the middle of large spaces, instead they do so at steps, flag poles, edges, and things of the like. I also found it very interesting that men tend to occupy the front row of table seats in open spaces, while women tend to occupy the back row of table seats in open spaces. There were three things in the movie which really stood out to me and made me stop and think. The first thing was that it never occurred to me how cruel it is to put water before people in open spaces, then disallow them from using it. The purpose of open spaces should be to bring enjoyment and comfort to its users. So if there is water in an open space, it should contribute to the enjoyment of people, otherwise its presence is useless. The second thing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After Caesars death everything started to change. Antony went to entreat his life to Brutus, pleading with him after all he was the one who stabbed a knife at his close friend, Caesar. Which then questions was Antony truly noble? He did swear his allegiance to Brutus, but for what purpose? Probably to save his life, but it has no good in it if he were to die for Caesar just leaving his memories and reputation. Antony saving his life is not only for him but for Caesars benefit. By Antony convincing Brutus that he s in his side, he was able to make his funeral speech. In Antonys speech he used repetition, But Brutus says he was ambitious and Brutus is an honorable man . Each time he repeated that phrase, Caesar seemed less ambitious and Brutus less honorable, but until Brutus was claimed admirable. Even if Antony were to not make that speech, Brutus would have still been suffering. He lost all of his allies, his best friend, his wife killed herself, and also Rome itself. This plays as if Brutus has stabbed himself in the back for betraying Caesar while Antony was just hurt for the death of his best friend. • 46. Assess the Usefulness of Functionalist Approaches in... Functionalists look at society as a whole. They explain crime and deviance by stating that the source of deviance lies in the nature of society rather than the individual. Durkheim states that crime and deviance is inevitable and a certain level is necessary for society to exist. He also claims that it is a positive aspect of society as it shows examples of rights and wrongs within society and by punishing offenders, through ways such as public humiliation and portraying crime as wrong, raises awareness of crime and therefore deters others from committing crime along with creating a collective conscience. He also argues that crime and deviance allows social change to occur which is needed in order for society to remain stable. Durkheim s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He believes that the formation of the subcultures release the status frustration by creating their own values for achieving status and therefore deviant behaviour becomes normal and valued within the group. This is useful when looking at explanations of crime as it highlights that crime and deviance is a collective rational response to the norms and values of society. However, Cohen fails to consider why women in society commit crimes and form subcultures. He has also been criticised as we cannot be sure that the working class know the middle class values enough in order to purposely reject them. Furthermore, Cloward and Ohlin combine Merton and Cohen s theories by stating that there is a legitimate opportunity such as passing exams and getting a job, and an illegitimate opportunity, such as gangs. They believe that the working class have easier access to the illegitimate structure meaning that it is easier for them to commit more crimes and so face more pressure to do so. Cloward and Ohlin claim that there are 3 types of subcultures: criminal subculture in which people climb the professional criminal hierarchy, conflict subculture in which there is little/no social cohesion and retreatest subcultures in which people fail in both the legitimate and illegitimate opportunity and retreat to things such as alcohol and drugs. • 47. Environmental Effects Of Acid Rain And Its Effects On The... The effects of acid rain greatly affect the environment. Some lakes become so acidic fish cannot survive in them. The degradation of minerals present in soil produces metal ions. These are subsequently washed away, causing the release of toxic substances, such as Al3+, into the water supply. This also causes the loss of important minerals, such as Ca2+, from the soil, killing trees and crops. Long term effects from global warming include landslides and increased seismic and volcanic activities, due to land no longer being depressed by the weight of ice. Tsunamis could also be generated, landslides caused by warmer ocean water thawing ocean floor permafrost or releasing gas hydrates. Some world regions already show an increase in landslides, such as the French Alps. Humphry Davy first successfully introduced the concept of a fuel cell in the 19th century. This was followed by by the scientist Christian Friedrich SchГ¶nbein, who made work on what were to become fuel cells in 1838. William Grove, a chemist, physicist and lawyer, widely known for basically inventing the fuel cell in 1839. Grove conducted experiments with a gas voltaic battery, proving that electrictricity could be produced from an electrochemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen over a platinum catalyst. With the 1970s came the emergence of environmental awareness amongst governments, prompted by concerns over air pollution. From this, clean air legislation was passed in America and Europe. • 48. Sodium Chloride Sucrose And Potato Osmosis The Effect of Sodium Chloride, Glucose, and Sucrose on Potato Tissue By Rachel Thurmes ABSTRACT This experiment examined the water potential of white potatoes, and compared them to those previously recorded. The validity of van t Hoff s Law was also tested by using different solutes in which to test the potatoes. This was done by measuring potato core weight before and after soaking them in solutions of different dissociations, and determining the percent weight change. Then van t Hoff s Law was used to calculate the water potential of the potatoes. The water potential of the potatoes soaked in sodium chloride was 5.67, glucose was 5.92, and sucrose was 5.66. These results do not agree with van t Hoff s Law. INTRODUCTION This experiment examined the relationship between different concentrations of sodium chloride, glucose and sucrose, and potato tissue. The water potential was estimated through a series of steps leading us to find the point at which the percent weight change of the potatoes was zero, then using van t Hoff s law to calculate the osmotic potential. The mixtures were swirled about every fifteen minutes to prevent shells of water from building up around the core and causing error in the results. Is playing a team sport actually good for us as we make it seem or is it just a fun way to pass the time? Actually, participating in any team sport has a positive effect on many areas of life. Some are well known and others may surprise you. We all know that playing any kind of sport comes with physical benefits like strengthening the body, developing coordination, and promoting physical fitness, but is that all that the player gains? First of all, it is well accepted that exercise is good for our bodies and minds. Exercising gives us stronger bones, clears out cholesterol from out arteries, and decreases the risk of stroke, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Does that mean we get much benefit of going to the gym five days a week as we would by joining a team and competing? Here is where it gets interesting; studies show that if you find a sport and a team you like you will gain all sorts of benefits that go beyond the physical and mental of exercise alone. Additionally, personality tests aid in identifying potential risky behavioral or emotional patterns that will prevent a potential job candidate from working efficiently and effectively. Traits such as stress tolerance, initiative, and emotional stability are often measured with personality assessments in order to determine how successful an individual will be in the organization (Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, 2015). This personality assessment will measure and identify performance risks centered on personality, and emotional habits related to the healthcare field in the pre hire stage for a Registered Nurse position. Furthermore, it will help to identify potential risky behaviors associated with tolerance, openness, stress, excitability, cautiousness, diligence, and boldness. This assessment will aid in identifying, if any, potential risky patterns that can possibly have a negative impact on their job effectiveness and relationships, and can bring potential harm to the patients, co workers, organization, etc. This will be done by analyzing the item responses to each statement and determining if the response could potentially be a risky behavior in the organization s climate and culture.
