This document presents a thesis on developing a GIS-based ambulance management system (AMS) for Hyderabad city, India. The AMS uses GIS, GPS, and GSM technologies to help emergency services locate accidents and route ambulances efficiently. It identifies accidents on the road network in real-time, finds the closest ambulance using GPS, calculates the fastest routes between the ambulance, accident, and nearest hospital while considering traffic conditions. The thesis describes developing a prototype AMS for Hyderabad using ArcGIS and evaluating it with users. The AMS aims to help ambulances reach accidents faster, especially during traffic peaks, to save more lives.
