A student conducted an experiment to observe the effects of osmosis on eggs placed in corn syrup and water. She hypothesized that the corn syrup egg would get heavier and smaller while changing color, but the water egg would stay the same. She found that the corn syrup egg lost weight and size as water left the egg, while the water egg gained weight and size as water entered it. This demonstrated osmosis as water moving from high to low concentration areas. Her hypotheses were partially correct.

OBSERVATIONS
1) Bubbles coming off of the egg
2) Eggs now floating, at top there is a
bunch of white foam
3) After 24hrs lot of foam still at top,
shell gone feels soft or jelly-like
and squishy
4) After egg in corn syrup 2 days
looks soft, soggy, not round and
little brown
5) After egg sat in water 2 days
seemed larger and transparent

8. CONCLUSION
 Corn syrup egg smaller water left egg
due to egg having higher concentration
than corn syrup. Water moved high
concentration to low concentration
 Water egg larger water entered egg due
to egg having lower concentration than
water. Water moved high concentration to
low concentration
