2. Purpose
Purpose – To observe Osmosis
in a cell.
1) Place eggs in Vinegar to
remove the shell.
 2) Measure weight of the egg
using a balance.
 3) Measure the size of the
eggs using string and
measuring tape.
 4) Place one egg in corn syrup
, Place the egg in water.
 5 )Weight and measure the
egg again.

3. Hypothesis
 Corn Syrup Egg
 I think that the corn
syrup egg is going to
weight less than the
Original weight.

 Water egg
 I think that the water egg
will be the same. The
weight and the looks
would be the same also.

 2 beakers
 Vinegar

7. 3 Visual Observation
1) Egg is squishy and no shell
2) After syrup 24 hours egg is
shrivelled
3) After water 24 hours egg grew
larger

8. Observation
 1) Bubbles rising up
 2) More bubbles at the
top . Egg is floating.
 3) eggs are still floating
and has foam forming at
the top.
 4)Corn syrup : after
sitting for 24 hours the
egg is shrivelled up.
 Water egg looks larger
and now at the bottom

9. Conclusion
 Water Egg
 Egg got larger
 Egg had a lower
concentration
 Water moved from high to
low concentration
 Corn Syrup Egg
 Got smaller
 Egg had a higher
concentration
 Water from egg moved to
low concentration.

10. Conclusion
 My Hypothesis was wrong
 I thought the both egg will be a blob
 I thought that both of the egg will
pop
 I thought that the corn syrup egg
and water egg will be the same
weight
 Corn Syrup Egg
 I got it wrong because I thought it
would be big.
 I also thought that it would be a
blob .
 I thought it would get bigger than
the water egg
