Egg Osmosis Project

8-16
PURPOSE

To observe osmosis in a cell

    Place egg in vinegar
    Measure the egg’s using
    string and measuring tape

Place the egg in corn syrup ,
place the other egg in water
    Weight and measure the
    egg again
HYPOTHESIS(corn syrup)
            Corn syrup egg (bob)

I think it will get bigger
            The weight will increase
            It will look brownish
HYPOTHESIS (water)
        Water egg (steve)
I think it will get smaller
        The weight will be less
        Size will less

                         (24 hours ) hours )

1.Egg look ‘s bigger . 1. There is bubble rising . 1.No more shell’s and it’s
                                                       squishy.
2.Egg Shriveled up. 2.There are more bubble’s
and the egg start to rise . 2.After letting the egg sit
on the corn syrup, the egg
3.Egg still rise ,the foam shriveled up.
                         forming at the top .
                                                       3.After sitting in water
CONCLUSION(Water egg)

            Water egg got larger
            Water moved into the
            egg
            The egg had a lower
            concentration than the
            water
            The water moved from
            higher concentration to
            lower concentration
CONCLUSION(Corn syrup egg)

              Corn syrup egg got smaller
Water moved out of the egg
This was due to the fact that
              the egg had a higher
              concentration of water
              The water moved from
              higher concentration(egg)to
              lower concentration (corn
              syrup)
