The presentation discusses alternative energy sources including nuclear energy, natural gas, solar power, wind power, and biomass. It outlines some key advantages and disadvantages of each source. Nuclear energy provides low-carbon power but poses safety risks from accidents. Natural gas is a fossil fuel that produces greenhouse gases. Solar and wind power are renewable sources but their availability depends on sunlight and wind. Biomass can reduce landfills but requires fuel and land. The presentation suggests that wind power is among the cleanest options as it does not contribute to global warming.
This presentation is about the advances in Renewable Resources of energy. This includes the innovations in the field of Solar Energy, Wind Energy, Water Energy and Success Stories and Ongoing work worldwide. This is what I call a Technovation.

Characterization and the Kinetics of drying at the drying oven and with micro...Open Access Research Paper
The objective of this work is to contribute to valorization de Nephelium lappaceum by the characterization of kinetics of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum. The seeds were dehydrated until a constant mass respectively in a drying oven and a microwawe oven. The temperatures and the powers of drying are respectively: 50, 60 and 70°C and 140, 280 and 420 W. The results show that the curves of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum do not present a phase of constant kinetics. The coefficients of diffusion vary between 2.09.10-8 to 2.98. 10-8m-2/s in the interval of 50°C at 70°C and between 4.83×10-07 at 9.04×10-07 m-8/s for the powers going of 140 W with 420 W the relation between Arrhenius and a value of energy of activation of 16.49 kJ. mol-1 expressed the effect of the temperature on effective diffusivity.

UNDERSTANDING WHAT GREEN WASHING IS!.pdfJulietMogola
Many companies today use green washing to lure the public into thinking they are conserving the environment but in real sense they are doing more harm. There have been such several cases from very big companies here in Kenya and also globally. This ranges from various sectors from manufacturing and goes to consumer products. Educating people on greenwashing will enable people to make better choices based on their analysis and not on what they see on marketing sites.

2. Nowadays, there are so many different
sources of energy.The most well-known
ones are:
Nuclear energy
Natural gas
Solar power
Wind power energy
Biomass
3. Nuclear energy
Nuclear energy is the use of exothermic
nuclear processes to generate heat and
electricity. It is also a low carbon power
generation method of producing
electricity.
4. Nuclear energy has disadvantages:
It is a chemical weapon(bomb in Hiroshima-
Nagashaki)
Nuclear power plant accidents(Chernobil
and Fukushima disaster)
High cost:it needs a lot of investment to set
up a nuclear power station
Non Renewable:This energy uses uranium
which is rare to be found in many countries.
5. Natural gas
Natural gas is a fossil fuel formed when layers
of buried plants and animals are exposed to
intense heat and pressure over thousands of
years. The energy that the plants originally
obtained from the sun is stored in the form of
carbon in natural gas.
6. Natural gas has also disadvantages:
It creates greenhouse gas emissions
It is renewable:but some people call it non-renewable
because it needs thousands of
years to start forming under the ground
again
It is highly volatile and can be dangerous
7. Solar power
Solar power is the conversion of the energy
from the sun to usable electricity. The most
common source of solar power is photovoltaic
cells which convert sunlight into
electricity. It is renewable and it is not only
used to generate electricity but also to heat
water(solar water heaters)
8. Some disadvantages of solar power
It cannot be created during the night
It is also reduced during times of cloud
cover(although energy is still produces
in a cloudy day)
Solar panels are expensive
9. Wind power energy
Wind power is the conversion of wind into
electricity. The most common form of wind
power generation uses wind turbines which
can be built at varying sizes to create
varying amounts of electricity. It is a
completely clean energy source,the
turbines can be placed everywhere.
10. Wind power disadvantages:
Like many alternative energies,wind power
is not always generated
Wind turbines are very noisy
11. Biomass
Biomass is a biological material derived
from living or recently living organisms. It
most often refers to plants or plant-derived
materials.Biomass creates no
harmful carbon dioxide emissions and it is
a clean energy and renewable. It also
reduces landfills and can be used to
create different products.
12. Disadvantages of biomass:
It is expensive
And harmful to the environment
It consumes more fuel
Requires more land(so biomass products can
be burnt)
13. So those are the most well-known
energy resources.Some of them
have loads of disadvantages and
some more advantages.The most
of them produce fossil fuels so
they participate in global
warming.The “cleanest”one is wind
power and it does not take part in
global warming.
