Overview of web services, SOAP, WSDL and UDDI.
A web service provides a defined set of functionality on a machine-processable interface.
The web service interface is described in a formal language like WSDL that allows creating code to access the service thus simplifying web service consumer (client) and provider (server) development.
In big web services, the interface is typically described in WSDL while the access to the service makes use of the SOAP message protocol.
SOAP has its roots in remote object access but is now a general message based and asynchronous transport mechanism.
SOAP is typically carried in HTTP (HyperText Transmission Protocol), but other message based protocols like SMTP (Email) or plain TCP could be used as well.
WSDL provides a formalized description of an interface that is coarsely separated in an abstract service interface definition containing operations and data types, a transport binding that describes how the web service is accessed and finally a description of the location (address) under which a web service is accessible.
UDDI (Universal Description and Discovery Protocol) was meant to become the standard protocol for some kind of a public yellow pages where publicly accessible web services would be listed. Lack of industry interest, however, prevented UDDI to gain widespread use.
SOAP is a simple and flexible messaging framework for transferring information specified in the form of an XML infoset between an initial SOAP sender and ultimate SOAP receiver.
Client-side and server-side, what are they and what are their differences? This guide will answer the age-old question - https://code-boxx.com/server-side-vs-client-side/

A Web service typically carries comprehensive business logic, can be searched through the Web, and has to be accessed through the Internet or Intranet environment. Above all, a Web service is published in a standard language and accessed through a standard protocol.

UDDI provides a mechanism for clients to dynamically find other Web services. In SOAP messages, the name of the service request and the input parameters take the form of XML elements. WSDL describes the data types and structures for Web services, and tells how to map them into the messages that are exchanged.
A Web service (WS*-) is a software system designed to support interoperable machine-to-machine
interaction over a network (WSDL) i.e between a client and a service. It has an interface described in a
machine-processable format . Other systems interact with the Web service in a manner prescribed by its
description using SOAP messages which is a protocol define by world wide web consortium, typically
conveyed using HTTP with an XML serialization in conjunction with other Web-related standards. Windows
Communication Foundation (WCF) is a framework for building service-oriented applications. Using WCF,
you can send data as asynchronous messages from one service endpoint to another. A service endpoint can
be part of a continuously available service hosted by IIS, or it can be a service hosted in an application like
an .exe file. An endpoint can be a client of a service that requests data from a service endpoint. The messages
can be as simple as a single character or word sent as XML document, or as complex as a stream of binary
data. In this paper ,We gave the Adavantages that are Available by using wcf ,instead of webservices and
other.
Here i am attaching the document for creating the web services

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Ajax
1.
2. AJAX stands for Asynchronous JavaScript And
XML.
AJAX is not a programming language.
AJAX just uses a combination of:
• A browser built-in XMLHttpRequest object (to
request data from a web server)
• JavaScript and HTML DOM (to display or use the
data)
3.
4. 1. Creating an instance of the XMLHttpRequest
object to send an HttpRequest from a client to a
server.
variable=new XMLHttpRequest();
2. Creating a request to a server by using the
open() method of the XMLHttpRequest object.
open(method,url,async);
3. Sending a request to a server by using the send()
method of the XMLHttpRequest object.
send(string);
5. SOAP – Simple Object Access Protocol.
It is an XML-based massaging protocol for
exchanging information among computers.
6. SOAP is a communication protocol.
SOAP can extend HTTP for XML messaging.
SOAP provides data transport for web services.
SOAP can be used for broadcasting a message.
SOAP is platform independent.
7. A SOAP message is an ordinary XML document
containing the following elements:
1. Envelope : Defines the start and end of the message.
2. Header : Contains any optional attributes of the
message used in processing the message, either at an
intermediary point or at the ultimate end-point.
3. Body : Contains the XML data comprising the
message being sent.
4. Fault : Provides information about errors that occur
while processing the message.
9. WSDL – Web Services Description Language.
It is the standard format for describing a web
service.
WSDL was developed jointly by Microsoft and
IBM.
10. WSDL is an XML-based protocol for
information exchange in decentralized and
distributed environments.
WSDL definitions describe how to access a web
service and what operations it will perform.
WSDL is a language for describing how to
interface with XML-based services.
WSDL is the language that UDDI uses.
11. The three major elements of WSDL:
1. Types : The data types to be used in the messages
are in the form of XML schemas.
2. Operations : It is the abstract definition of the
operation for a message.
3. Binding : It is the concrete protocol and data formats
for the operations and messages defined for a
particular port type.
13. UDDI – Universal Description, Discovery, and
Integration.
UDDI is an open industry initiative, enabling
businesses to discover each other and define how
they interact over the Internet.
UDDI has two sections:
1. A registry of all web services metadata, including a
pointer to the WSDL description of a service.
2. A set of WSDL port type definitions for manipulating
and searching that registry.
14. It contains 3 elements are:
1. White Pages : Basic information about the company
and its business.
2. Yellow Pages : Contain more details about company.
3. Green Pages : Contain technical information about a
web service.
15. UDDI Data Model :
It is an XML Schema for describing businesses and
web services.
UDDI API Specification
It is a specification of API for searching and
publishing UDDI data.
