 Advertising can be categorised in various
ways. The most common of classifying various
forms of advertising is in ferms of product or
service. In the press, ads are generally
classified into ‘classified’and ‘display’ types in
cinema, cable and television, ads are classified
into ‘stills’and ‘live’. Where the focus of
attention is the medium, the classified into
advertising
 Is in terms of print ,electronic ,cinema
,outdoor ,online and mobile advertising.

Product Advertising
 Advertisements can be classified
according to different categories such as
ad theme media product. Broadly
speaking, there are three types of
advertising where the content or theme
is concerned. The first is product
Advertising this is the most common
type of advertising . The items
advertised are consumer products,
consumer durables.
Classified Advertising
 At the other extreme is classified Advertising
which provides valuable information in a dry
matter of manner. Useful information about
the employment market about births , deaths,
engagements and marriages about change of
names, about accommodation and housing.
The approach here is usually more direct and
information oriented.
Public Service Advertising
 Then there is public service or social
Advertising .the newest term for it is
development Advertising. This type of
Advertising focuses on social issues
like family planning ,national driving
,campaigns against alcohol, drugs and
smoking . They do not sell product or
service but ideas and messages.
