3. Film Trailer: The one element of my film promotion package that challenges conventions and does not completely conform is my film trailer. This is because it does not conform to what Todorov who is a structuralist, said. As he believed that narratives should begin in a state of ‘plenitude’ when things are normal, but this normality is then disrupted. But my film trailer does not follow his five stages he set, which is known as the ‘classic narrative pattern’. But as you can see with the screen shots, our film trailer does not consist of one disruption, but many as there are various interlinking stories. Furthermore, my trailer consists of a soundtrack throughout, but does not contain a voiceover, therefore yet again not following typical conventions seen in existing trailers. Geek faces problems, put forward my the other girls, as she has to foresee three propositions, in order to be ‘apart of there clique’ The revenge taken out by the geek for the other girls, causes a disruption between the boys. The geek is put in a sticky situation when the other popular girl forces her to interact with the ‘hottie’
4. Film Poster (Mean Girls) Our film poster Typeface is conventional to other film posters, and therefore used on our poster Similar format, keeping the release date in a similar position, near the bottom half of the poster Film title, positioned in the centre of the poster, as it is most prominent and important, keeping to the conventions, as it is also seen in the Mean Girls poster The Main actress/actors names placed at the top of the poster, conforming to the convention of other similar film poster The minor characters, featured but towards the background, showing they are of less importance to the main character in the foreground Just as the convention shown in the Mean Girls Poster, the minor characters are put into the background, rather than the foreground with the main character. The purpose of a film poster is to advertise the film itself, alongside a film trailer. Also, the film poster is meant to catch peoples attention, and give that initial interest to the target audience. The font size and use of a maximum of three colours, makes my film poster conventional in comparison to previous film posters, such as Mean Girls; as they have three texts colours and three sizes of font. The narrative of my film poster is similar to Mean Girls, as it shows the main character in the foreground, and the way in which it is positioned shows the conflict to come between the characters, also my film poster shows that of the jealousy between the boys as Kieran is giving ‘the other dude’ an evil glare, as he stands up right; showing that he gains more power and status.

7. With the trailer, and film poster I kept the colours of blue and pink consistent, therefore to show continuity between products, and constantly reflecting on the genders trying to be represented within the promotion package. Also, the font on both the magazine, poster are the same in order to show that the products are relating to each other, by giving them the same formatting. The main title ‘ sweet revenge’ consists of the same format in the trailer and poster, which Cleary makes both items recognisable as apart of the same promotion package. Even though slightly different, the main title ‘sweet revenge’ constantly maintains both or either blue or pink elements, again representing the gender and also showing that all three items of the film promotion package are connected, which is instantly recognisable.
8. The continuity of the main trailer and ancillary products can be seen through the use of the same, recognisable main character.

12. I used the program Photoshop because I felt that the software is very good for editing photos/images, which allowed me to improve the photos by altering the colors, changing the backgrounds, and cropping the photo, and by getting rid of any unnecessary scenery in the background, and proved to be effective, as the tools were easy to use, and nevertheless the layout of the program, is very clear and easy to follow. Adobe Photoshop Toolbar Selection Tool: Selects and moves items on a document Preview Mode: Shows what the page will actually look like, when completed. Text Tool: Adds or edits text. By using the text tool bar shown below , you can alter paragraph options using the paragraph tool bar.
13. The vast amount of tools on the left hand side, helped me construct my final piece, as I used them to edit, cut and place images and various pieces of text together. Here on the right hand side are the various layers constructed to create the final product. This is a screen shot from Adobe Photoshop, I used this for the construction of my Film Magazine front cover, I already acquired the basic skills when creating my Hip-Hop magazine last year, but developed them further, when editing the pictures and adding the extra effects and layers required; in order for it to have the same structure of a normal magazine and conform to the film magazine general conventions One of the main tools I used frequently was the ‘lasso tool’ which enabled me to quickly and efficiently cut out an image, as done so with the front cover image, in order to place it on another background.
14. During my evaluation stage of my film promotion package, I used media technologies such as www.blogger.com, to help me to assess my work, by allowing for it to be readily available to other students, to analyse and give me feedback, which I then used within my evaluation of my own work. I also used PowerPoint Presentation in order to create this evaluation itself, and when putting this evaluation together on PowerPoint presentation, in turn I had to use a variety of media technologies, such as Adobe Premiere, Windows Media Player, and Adobe Photoshop, as print screens and screen graphs were needed to show the processes of my production of my film promotion package. This is my film promotion package production dairy which I created alongside my main blog, in order to keep a log of what I did weekly, once we started to produce our products. This piece of technology helped me with the evaluation stage, as it allowed me to think back and reflect on what exactly I did.
