Romanticism Was The Period Of The Literary Movement Of...
1783 1830 was the period of the literary movement of Romanticism which was originated in Europe
(wiki). The Romantic Movement was partly aroused as a reaction from the Industrial Revolution.
Romanticism appeared as a movement which aimed to reject many subjects such as spirits, souls, and
instincts from the previous Enlightenment movement and discuss subjects associated with liberalism,
radicalism, and nationalism (Nichols, A., 2005). This movement emphasizes on the sources of
aesthetic experience, emotions, beauty and sublimity of nature. One of the most obvious principles in
this literary movement is the freedom of the poets to express themselves and their feelings. It was
considered that in order for poets to express their true feelings, they have to be creative, imaginative
and isolated. And the second obvious principle in this literary movement was the principle of genius,
which means creation from nothingness, and that was the key of this movement (Waterhouse, 1926;
Smith, 1924).
In that period, poets seemed to be using ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This stanza gives the reader a vibe of seriousness and sorrow because it asks questions about the
significance of the interchange between nature and human mind ( Romanticism , 2010). Shelley brings
forth the central problem in this stanza about the equality of the creation with the mind of human
being. In these lines, Shelley believes that he was caught in nature with its terrifying giant wonders;
then he personifies the big mountain and he also indicates that the mountain is too big to understand.
Moreover, Shelley used more than forth of the poem to view the main problems about understanding
nature of the power of the everlasting universe of things by using metaphor as in the case of the word
River . And what meant by it that by the time passing by the river can t cut through the big mountain

Conservative M.P Boris Johnson s satirical article Don t let Ed Miliband sink this country with his
commie slab of rock, was published May 4th 2015, three days before the British elections in the
Conservative leaning newspaper The Daily Telegraph. In this article, Johnson uses a variety of
satirical techniques such as the use of diminutive language, metaphors, satirical tone, rhetorical
questions and others, in order to present Ed Miliband, representing of the Labour party, as a ridiculous
leader and a regression for Britain s politics. Subsequently, Johnson then presents the leadership of
David Cameron as a solution to the potential threat that Ed Miliband imposes in order to achieve his

Johnson uses the headline with metaphorical words and diminutive language in order to portray how
Ed Miliband will cause a downturn in the U.K Don t let Ed Miliband sink this country with his
commie slab of rock . The use of the metaphorical word sink connotes the idea of the connection
Miliband has with regression as the country will be ruined if he comes to power. Furthermore,
Johnson uses the diminutive commie slab in order to decrease the importance of communism. Johnson
uses the word commie instead of communist to indicate the ridicule ideology that Miliband presents.
Hence, the headline, which s purpose is to catch the attention of the reader, directly associates
communism with regression therefore a threat to the British country. The headline facilitates Johnson

Moreover, Johnson uses the following metaphor to compare Miliband s ideology to previous
unsuccessful communist regimes as if this were East Germany circa 1973... Johnson uses this
metaphor in a satirical way to compare Miliband s actions to the once communist East Germany,
which is constantly seen as the grey Germany. East Germany was also, in comparison to West
Germany underdeveloped; when Johnson contrasts Miliband s actions to East Germany he is
associating Ed Miliband or Red Ed with Communism and regression. By doing so, Johnson portrays
Ed Miliband as a threat to Britain yet still in a satirical way, aiding Johnson to fulfil his purpose of

Judy Burnside Mrs. McClure English 11 Honors, Period 7 3 Jan 2013 Have you ever wanted to be

beautiful, and there were no responsibilities or worries. A place where you were given everything you
could ve ever asked for. If you had a place this luxurious, would you still want it? Sometimes we think
our lives would be fulfilled if we were smarter, or prettier, or more athletic. It is these times that we
neglect to see how great our lives already are. This is the theme of Scott Westerfeld s novel, Uglies.

Cable tells Tally, Then I ll make you a promise too, Tally Youngblood. Until you help us, to the very
best of your ability, you will never be pretty (Loc 1309). After hearing this, Tally reluctantly agrees to
help Dr. Cable find Shay. This moment is important because it symbolizes weakness and selfishness in
human nature. Sometimes, we are willing to go against someone we love if it benefits ourselves. Tally
wants to be perfect so badly that she is willing to turn her friend in to the authorities to get the
operation she wants. Dr. Cable gives Tally supplies to get to the Rusties and a heart shaped locket that
she is to activate when she finds Shay. Once Tally activates it, Special Circumstances will be able to
find the location of the Rusties and arrest any outlaws living there. Tally travels for several days and
nights and finally gets to the Rusties. Shay is happy to see her, and immediately introduces her to all
of her new friends. These friends include David, a sixteen year old that ran away from the surgery
because he wanted to stay pure. When Tally meets him, she thinks to herself, He was an ugly, but he
had a nice smile. And his face held a kind of confidence Tally had never seen in an ugly before (Loc
2180). David represents pureness and reality. In our world, we classify someone as beautiful if they
have exquisite features that are rare. In Tally s world, everyone was given these rare features,

Thomas Jefferson wanted to separate from the British for many reasons, including, Usurpation,
Despotism and Violence. The British Government was taking away things from the colonists and
taking credit from them. Jefferson said, But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, it is their
right, it is their duty, to throw off such government . It is obvious the Government was taking things
away from the colonists, as Jefferson mentions it more than once saying, reduce them under absolute

residents of Eckerty, Darius and Anthony Adams, who recall their fond memories of the old Johnson

kids actually had bible study once a day. Two teachers taught all the kids for each subject. (List)
Instead of the children switching classes, the teachers had to move rooms. The kids ages ranged from

Bossypants Analysis
In Tina Fey s memoir of her life, Bossypants, she provides many examples of challenging the ideas of
femininity in today s modern society. This is important because it shows younger women that despite
the inequalities for women in the workplace, the inequalities can be overcome, and women can go on
to live successful lives with the careers that they want. In Bossypants, Fey tells different anecdotes
about the struggles that she ran into during her position as a female writer in Saturday Night Live and
how these struggles ultimately made her a better writer and person after she had overcome them. In
today s society, one of the biggest examples of inequality in the workplace is that in the majority of
the fields, females get paid significantly less than their male co workers who do the same job. The
book Bossypants is the perfect example of how to educate the audience about important issues such as
inequalities in the workplace while also keeping the audience entertained with one liners and different
forms of comedy throughout the whole story. It is important that Fey talks about these examples
because she shows that even though she may have struggled and that her male co workers were not
always supportive of her, she did her best anyways and she worked to become the boss so that she
could be in charge of her own work. In Bossypants, Tina Fey talks about the struggles of being a
female writer in her field, and how to focus her energy on her work to become the boss. She elaborates
on the inequalities of women in the world of employment and how these inequalities can affect
women s careers. One of the most impactful anecdotes that Tina Fey writes about in Bossypants is the
encounter she witnesses between Amy Poehler and Jimmy Fallon while she was still a writer for
Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey talks about how men and women find different things funny, There s a
tremendous amount of overlap in what men and women think is funny (136). She also goes into detail
about an exchange between Amy Poehler and Jimmy Fallon that showed her that she was the only one
that had to like what she was doing, She was there to do what she wanted to do and she did not
fucking care if you liked it (144). This is an important

Based on the book Shrek, by William Steig, the animated movie Shrek, directed Andrew Adamson and
Vicky Jenson of DreamWorks (Katzenburg, J., Warner, A., Williams, J.H Adamson, A., Jenson, V.

creatures. Due to being an Ogre, Shrek has lived his life alone and isolated in house in a swamp until
various fairytale creatures invade his home. The fairytale creatures have moved themselves into Shrek

His social disinterest was influenced by various negative confrontations and rumors from others. An
example would be when Shrek barged into the church during Lord Farquaad and Fiona s wedding
ceremony which then led to Lord Farquaad saying, it s rude enough being alive when no one wants
you...(Katzenburg, J., Warner, A., Williams, J.H Adamson, A., Jenson, V. Directors, 2001, scene 17).
Multiple negative confrontations can also influence Shrek s low self esteem. As quoted before where
Shrek reenacts what he hears other people say to him once they see him, which shows how he
currently sees himself based on what he hears other say. Low self esteem is associated with self doubt
and social isolation both in which Shrek expresses (MacCutcheon, M., Gilbertson, T., Houdek, N. W.
2007). The self doubt part is expressed when Shrek believes that no one could ever understand or give
him affection. Shrek s fears of abandonment could have developed during childhood and increased as
he went into adulthood (Abandonment. n.d.). With others fearing and putting bounties on Shrek, he
may have experienced a traumatic event, such as losing a parent, during his childhood because of
being an ogre. Putting together that others are afraid of Shrek and may want to hurt him, one could tell
that Shrek had these negative thoughts and encounters for many years. There are a couple

Sarasota Real Estate Analysis
While most qualified homebuyers with a ready down payment and good credit history are more than
welcome by any Sarasota real estate agent, a real estate investor is seen as a pain. In fact, most
Sarasota real estate agents consider real estate investors a complete headache when it comes to
purchasing any property.
There are two main reasons for this...
First of all, like any businessperson, a real estate agent likes making a quick and hassle free profit.
Secondly, many real estate agents do not have the experience, expertise, or willingness to handle the
creative deals that real estate investors need.
Nevertheless, real estate investors have no choice but to use an agent because that is the only place
where they can access the Multiple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3. Offer the offer yourself. Sometimes real estate investors can come up with very creative offers. Try
persuading the real estate agent to allow you to present the offer directly to the seller (with the agent
present of course). You want the seller to hear the offer directly from you, as no one else can match
your precision and passion in presenting the offer. It will also allow the seller to address any questions
directly to you, instead of going through the real estate agent as a middleman.
As a real estate investor you may come across many uncooperative real estate agents. A number of
Sarasota real estate agents would prefer not to work with real estate investors because it requires more
work than simply writing up a contract and handing over the keys. Don t get discouraged
though...there are also many Sarasota real estate agents who enjoy working with real estate
investors...especially those that follow the tips above.

Allusions In Atonement
Atonement embraces the notion of literary delusion and great social awareness in the domain of
contemporary literature. One of the most interesting aspects of a successful novel is its reference to
events and texts beyond its immediate universe. Atonement, written by Ian McEwan, is a novel that
transcends literary boundaries by commenting on the narrator s egocentrism, while simultaneously
exploring human sexuality and subverting Victorian Puritanical mores of sex. Atonement incorporates
numerous literary allusions to works such as Lady Chatterley s Lover, written by D.H Lawrence. A
mature and experienced reader would covet an explanation for the inclusion of such a risqué
composition, but the motive is simple; to enhance Atonement s themes ... Show more content on

The intricacy of the novel s structure, the intertwining of character s lives denotes author Briony s
exceptional ability to warp and manipulate events. The utilization of modernist technique temporal
prolepsis emphasises this, In half an hour Briony would commit her crime , which implies meticulous
planning of both Briony as the narrator, and Briony s character in the novel. Thus, the questioning of
such literary authority in reflecting the true events is emphasised. In great parallel, one s belief in
spiritual superiority stimulates religious delusion, believing they can be exempted of the bible s
teachings. Christian teachings were revealed to be particularly questionable with the exploitation of
power during the early 20th Century. Roman Catholic priests, consumed with arrogance of their
prestigious status, committed innumerable child sexual abuse acts. The Augustin Cardinal Bea, S.J,
considered an expert on clerical abuse, stated that approximately 4% of priests during the past half
century have had a sexual experience with a minor , accentuating the prevalence of such immoral acts.
Although the bible clearly labels exploitation as a sin; But your eyes and your hear are intent only
upon your own dishonest gain, and on shedding innocent blood and on practising oppression and
extortion. ( Jeremiah 22:17) , the egocentrism of the priests lead them to manifest a warped
understanding of their own

Libertarian Feminism Essay
The word feminist has caused turmoil wherever it is uttered. It has gained a negative connotation, and
is often mistaken with misandry. While these claims may be true for a minimal number of feminists,
the truth is that in order to get an accurate representation on what feminists actually believe one would
have to go to the source. The two main problems with that, are that first of all, it is not rigidly
structured or led by a single figure or group , and most importantly there is not just one kind of
feminism, there are hundreds in each aspect of our life (Tavaana, 2014). The most under represented
group within feminism is the kind that is in the government. Not all have the same theories, and
therefore, do not have the same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Libertarian feminists claim that the root of female oppression lies in women s ability to bear children
(Gibbs, 2006, p.g 71 93). Liberal feminists on the other hand focus on personal and political
autonomy, and see the root of female oppression to be the existence of gender roles. Among all these
different kind of feminism, a single political agenda binds them together, a common purpose; gender
equality. Like most things, there are misconceptions about certain subjects. For example the media
tends to focus on feminist extremist, and (knowingly or unknowingly) perpetuates the stereotype that
feminists hate men, and that their agenda includes the eventual societal elevation above men. Nothing
could be further from the truth since the actual definition of feminism is, The advocacy of women s
rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men. (Oxford Dictionary, 2014).
Here we see that it is not a competition to the top of the pyramid, rather it is an effort to join the sexes
in equality. The problem that arises from the definition is the lack of explanation of the methods, and
ideologies, and that is breeding ground for speculation and therefore misconceptions. The solution to
this problem is simple; we must acknowledge that there are different methods employed by different
women to reach equality. The famous televangelist, Pat Robertson had this to say about feminism in
his letter to an equal rights amendment to the

With concave mirrors, the reflection would appear to be out in front of a mirror, thus, producing a

used in a more accurate representation of video data. She not only viewed this as a potential
breakthrough for commercial television, but also an opportunity for NASA and its image delivery
system.
After a year of working with her process, Thomas applied for a patent on December 28,

patent, the procedure was clarified: Optical illusions may be produced by parabolic mirrors wherein
such images produced thereby are possessed with three dimensional attributes. The optical effect may

The Earth s Planetary Group
This semester in physical science I have realized numerous things, yet what I discovered to be the
most fascinating was the point at which we discussed the earth s planetary group. I discovered that the
earth s planetary group has numerous things in it, however as large as the earth s planetary group is it
just has one stay which is called Sol which is otherwise called the sun. The earth s planetary group is
4.568billion years of age, and it comprises of eight planets. The IAU is right now perceiving five
midget planets, however of the five there are perhaps a few hundred more to be named. At this point
there are 431 common satellites, and of those 173 of them are planetary and 258 of them are named
minor. There are 659,212 referred to lunar planets and 3296 comets as of September 25, 2014. Our
earth s planetary group just has nineteen round satellites in it starting now. In the event that I were to
rundown the planets by separation from the sun, they would be: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter,
Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. The closest planetary framework is Alpha Centauri which is 4.37 light
years away. As specified before the midget planets and they are: Cereces, Pluto, Humea, Makemake,
and Eris. The orbital rate of our earth s planetary group is as of now recorded as being 220km/s, and
the orbital period is 220 250 MY. Our seeing about the universe and our spot in it has changed about
whether. New data can make us reevaluate what we know and reconsider how we

Analysis Of Nine Beginnings By Margaret Atwood
Why does someone write? What makes authors that we enjoy to read, feel inspired to sit in a deep,
state of self reflection. As they ignore others around them, and focus on their own imaginations in
monomaniac fashion ? Margaret Atwood s Nine Beginnings, attempts to answer the broad question of,
Why do you write? This is an essay where the author is having a conversation with herself and
contemplating her thoughts about writing. Atwood acknowledges that writing is a process that is never
ending, and a person needs self confidence of their ability to write, in order to be a proficient writer.
Margaret Atwood also believes that multiple accounts of failure are important for any writer. A person
learns from their mistakes and the writer s voice comes out more authentic to who the person is due to
adversity. Writing is a selfish act. The first goal for writing is to better yourself, the writer who is
wrestling with their emotions, life and thoughts. Reading and writing are dependent on each other.
Writers are inspired by what they have read, and they think of their own lives and build upon their
influences. Every writer must read, in order to gain knowledge of what is inspirational for themselves
and others, You learn to write by reading and writing,, writing and reading. As a craft it s acquired
through the apprentice system, but you choose your own teachers. Sometimes they re alive, sometimes
they are dead, (Atwood, Pg.201). This statement is well

avoid being confused.
In conclusion, we can say that Pelagianism rejects the belief and the doctrine of the Original Sin and
claim that humans have not been corrupted, so people are capable of deciding to do good and avoid
sin without the help of God. In summary, humans are capable of merit salvation on their own without
God s grace. Pelagius believed that the only thing that can affect us to obey God would be the human
ignorance of God s will.

##s And Weaknesses And Strengths Of Rudy Giuliani
Like all famous leaders, Rudy Giuliani had his fair share of strengths and weaknesses. Giuliani
showed the country and the world what true leadership was in the wake of 9/11. During a time of
crisis, he demonstrated courageousness, dedication and composure. Even though Giuliani is mostly
remembered for his strengths, his weaknesses are usually overlooked. He was criticized for being
unfaithful and allowing lust to break up his marriage. Another weakness of Giuliani was his
inconsistency to reprimand his police force. Giuliani was a man of positivity. No matter the situation,
Giuliani always looked at the positive side of things and didn t allow his emotions to get the best of
him. This strength of his leadership style stemmed from the core values his father taught him. In an
interview with Barbara Walters, Giuliani talked about what his father taught him. Giuliani explained
that his father had taught him how to act during a crisis: When there is a crisis going on, the most
important thing is to be calmer. If everybody s getting very upset and very emotional, the best way to
figure out your way through it is to actually become calmer and relax more. He understood that when
in a time of uncertainty, being calm was the key. Another key strength of Giuliani was how he was a
natural born leader. NYPD Commissioner William Bratton commented on Giuliani s natural born
leadership. I ve seen the mayor in many instances during the time I worked with him as police

Somalia Cultural Identity

Every time Cultural identity and immigration is discussed. I am a Somalia Muslim woman and Just
like many immigrants in the united states, I also identify as an American. My parents migrated from
their home in the horn of Africa when the civil war broke out. This seems simple, Somalis left their

I am, I will give few facts and background history. Somalia is a long, narrow country that wraps
around the Horn of Africa. It has the longest coast of any African nation, bordering on both the Red
Sea and the Indian Ocean. The inland areas are predominantly plateaus, with the exception of some
rugged mountains in the far north. The northern region is more arid, whereas the southern portion of
the country receives more rainfall. Many Somalis are nomadic or semi nomadic herders, some are
fishermen, and some farmers. Mogadishu is the capital and largest city. Somalia is composed of a
single, homogeneous ethnic group. Although Somalis may differ in nuances of local lifestyle, they
share one language, religion, and culture, and trace their heritage to a common ancestor. Colonial rule
began in the mid 1800s and divided the land inhabited by ethnic Somalis into several territories. The

What Is The Ruination Of Women In The 21st Century
There once stood a haven on the corner of East 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue in New York City.
The Barbizon Hotel For Women offered a port in the storm for aspiring actresses, models and female
professionals who came to New York, to pursue their dreams of fame and fortune. New York City was
a mecca for dreamers in the 1900s, and the renowned Barbizon assured impressionable ingenues
shelter and protection from the sinister side of the city and its citizens.
In spite of New York s iconic image as a world class city, the road to fame in the Big Apple was
fraught with danger; this was especially true for young women who were away from home for the first
time. Unscrupulous characters and lifestyles saw the ruination of numerous young women

Heroism In The Outsiders, By S. E. Hinton
In the book The Outsiders, written by S. E. Hinton, the narrator, Ponyboy, talks about his life as a poor
person and the fights, rich against the poor. The novel focused on how the rich and the poor people did
not understand each other. According to Ponyboy this led in the two groups to hate each other. The
three topics addressed in the engaging novel are the fight between rich and poor, the power of
friendship, and what defines heroism. To begin with, the fight between the rich and poor is a large
theme in the book The Outsiders. When Ponyboy got jumped he thought, It occurred to me that they
could kill me, (5) This shows that since Ponyboy was a greaser, the Socs jumped him and could have
killed him. This also shows that the Socs did not care whether they killed him or not. Bob also said,
You know what a greaser is? White trash with long hair (55). This showed that the Socs thought of
themselves higher than others. This also shows how the Socs did not show any sympathy with the
greasers. This shows how the rich and the poor fought because of their differences. ... Show more

Early on, Ponyboy stated, . . . organized gangs are a rarities there are just small bunches of friends
who stick together. (11). This is important because it shows how friendship bonded their small gang
and how the gang helped each other. This also shows how the gang relies upon each other to keep
alive. Ponyboy also said, . . . had been part of our gang and we wouldn t desert him. (169). This shows
that the gang was so close that even when one of them died, they would still stand up for them. This is
an important fact because without each other, they would fall apart like Ponyboy did. This shows the

Film Analysis Of The Graduate And Annie Hall
Before the 1960s there were plenty of films made. In the 1950s things began to change for, in my
opinion, the better. It started with a new form of acting called method acting that encouraged
improvisation. This was key because it gave actors more control over their characters which allowed
for more realistic representations of characters allowing audiences to connect better to the film.
Having more control over a character is something that I found vital because it adds an even deeper
element to the film as a whole. Another important thing added in the 1950s was the addition of subject
matters and themes that focused on ordinary individuals. This was important again because it added
another element to the films that audiences could connect to. In the 1960s there was even more change
to the film industry. For example, there was a new focus on youth, with psychological character
studies of offbeat anti heroes. More explicit presentation of sexuality, violence and drug use on screen.
Rebellion vs. the American mainstream, with new values and points of view. Self conscious use of
cinematic effects, reflecting European influence and new twists on old film genre. These new changes
can be seen in cinematic and thematic elements in films including The Graduate and Annie Hall. To
start this film analysis, we ll start with The Graduate directed by Mike Nichols. Cinematically there
were a lot of things added in this film that shows these new features added to films in the

Catholics Confession Of Beliefs
Catholics believe that there are three ways to express the Christian faith: through the confession of
beliefs, in spiritual practices and ways of beliefs....and in a code of ethic (Groome 174). The
confession of beliefs is the first step to becoming a Christian. This step requires individuals to believe
in a higher power and form a relationship with the higher power. A confession of beliefs requires the
attendance to a local church, to help build a relationship with God and Jesus. Jesus may play the most
important role in this stage because he walked in the life of a human and understands the struggles that
individuals face. When someone is scared to talk with God they can speak with Jesus because he is
understanding. Spiritual practices and

A question that plagues pet owners new and old is whether they should fix their animals which is the
process of removing the reproductive organs of an animal. Though in the end it is a tough decision to

their animals, research suggests that it helps keep animals healthy is certain ways that not fixing an
animal does. It also contributes to the control of the animal population in not just in America. But, on

College Essay On Trail Horses
Trail riding with horses can be a very fun, and relaxing experience. For defining purposes, a trail ride
is riding a horse outdoors on roads such as trails, forest roads, or similar pathways that are not
normally subjected to traffic of the motorized type. These rides can be of varying length, terrain, and
difficulty. While this can be a very enjoyable experience, there are still things one must keep in mind
before taking off on an adventure such as this. While virtually any horse can be trained successfully to
ride on trail rides, there are some breeds in particular that possess certain traits that lead to superior
trailing. Qualities to look for in prospective trail horses are patience and sure footedness. It s also very
important to make sure these horses won t spook easily, because you never know what you might
come across during a trail ride. There are five horse breeds in particular that have proved to have these
qualities, therefore making them better suited to trail riding. These horses are the ... Show more

When on trail rides you will often come across things your horse will have to step over, such as logs
or other objects found in nature. Your horse has to be patient, in case you have to stop and wait for any
reason during your ride. A horse that spooks easily is also not ready for trail rides, considering you can
t always control what will and will not appear to spook them during that time. Lastly, trail riding is
more often than not a group activity. Depending on the size of the pathway you re on, your horse will
have to be in fairly close quarters to other horses and their riders. If your horse isn t able to do this
safely and patiently, you will have to train so they are until you can go on trail rides. Safety should
always come first when riding your horse, and an unprepared or unsuitable horse can bring immense
danger to other horses and riders on the trail.

One thing I m certain about is that a change is happening at an increasing rate and therein the jobs of
yesterday, today and tomorrow will be the dinosaurs of maximum 10 years from now. It might be a
whimsical concept, but what we should do is teach our students the skills needed for as yet invented
jobs. Yet, aren t we preparing them for the future anyway?
While education is evolving and adapting to the 21st century, teachers learn as much as the students
do, when that happens, a reflexive link is created in the classroom between the teacher and the
students, which activates many of the skills mentioned before, for both parties, required for a
successful 21st century learning experience.
While we learn that technological literacy is crucial, we need to find the compromise and not take
everything for granted, just because it is available doesn t mean it is essential, for example, if we all

Hermeneutics Of Music
CHAPTER 1 THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND As a form of art and culture, music is
indeed an essential part of one s life. Yet, music is in many ways the fabric of our lives and the
definition of society. It is a reminder of how things once were, an indication of how things are, and a
view of where society is headed. Music is a direct reflection of the picture of society. Also, it is
something that touches the soul in a truly unique way. It s one of the few things in this world that can
engage the entire mind at once .Likewise, music can be a way to deliver messages, a poetic medium, a

Similarities Between The Sun Also Rises And The Great Gatsby
The American Dream is something that we as a working class are encouraged to strive for because it is
viewed as the epitome of being successful. Our two novels, The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway
and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, are both set during a time Gertrude Stein refers to as a
lost generation . Happening during WWI, the Roaring 20 s became infamous for its lavish lifestyles
and careless ways due to the ongoing war. However, eventually the line between happiness and wealth
starts to blur as people mistakenly try to buy their contentment instead of just expressing how they

they ve gone through they still end up in each other s arms. Whether or not the characters get a chance
at happiness is unclear, but the readers can assume that there seems to be little hope for our characters
at the very end. Brett asks Jake to not get drunk, and for the first time we get to see her change of

Social Studies Reflection
The performing arts and social studies integration lesson I taught went well. My students met the math
objective of identifying a multitude of shapes, regardless of their overall size, orientation, color, and
other non defining attributes. Additionally, my students learned details about the history of Halloween,
fulfilling my social studies objective. For my first lesson, learning the history of Halloween, I had
planned for my students to compare and contrast traditions now vs. then., meeting the C3 framework
standard D2.His.2.K 2. Compare life in the past to life today. Students were supposed to sort traditions
as past, present, or both past and present. This was also related to my assessment. While answering a
journal prompt, K 2 students were supposed to describe their favorite tradition and identify if it is a
past, present, or past and present tradition. Fourth grader students would point to details on our KWL
chart, iPad, and picture cards. I provided sentence frames for them to assist their writing.
Unfortunately, I ran out of time, and we did not get to sorting. Therefore, fourth grade students had the
same assessment as everyone else. I believe there are pros and cons to this. I designed my assessment
to offer more differentiation and meet students ability levels. However, I feel that there are benefits in
allowing them to participate in the same way as everyone else and practice their handwriting by

How Technology Helps With The Sales Process And How It Can...
The purpose of this essay is to discuss how technology can assist with the sales process and how it can
develop a trust based relationship between businesses.
Technology plays a very important role in the sales process, as new trends arise such as the use of
mobile applications, social media, database management systems and cloud computing the ability to
store information online and be able to access your data conveniently, everywhere and anywhere you
go as long as you have an internet connection has become the new meta. The concept of selling has
evolved into a many different activities comparatively to just a decade ago. The successful
professional salesperson of today and the future is likely a better listener than a talker (Thomas N.

long term relationships with their customers rather than the historical methods such as the short term,
heavy selling methodologies. Businesses have moved on, the world has accepted and adopted the new
technology to help improve the sales process. Seller have become more aware of the customer needs
and requirements and are finding new ways to help satisfy them. There are many selling approaches
and are used for different types of selling situations. Each approach has their own distinctive way of
persuading the buyer and can result in different levels of effectiveness. Using technology can have its

Type 2 Error In Nursing
This discrepancy may increase the risk of type I or type II errors that may have an impact on public

type I error is the incorrect rejection of a true null hypothesis or in other words, it leads one to believe

Most military members agree that being a leader means being in charge regardless of the situation.
While this axiom may hold true during the joint operation phases of Seize the Initiative or Dominate ,
it is not the case for steady state operations with the IA. This axiom has become a caricature of the

character of the Grandmother. The Misfit s accomplices take her family, as they re taken into the
woods and shot dead. Throughout this point, the Grandmother appears to solely be centered on
preservation, along with her solely recognition of something awry being after two isolated yells of
Bailey Boy! O Connor is showing the character of not just the Grandmother, however what she
perceives to be the common trend in 1950 s culture. The concept of family unity and selflessness, even
by people who propagate the concept, is forgotten once the individual is vulnerable.
Whereas O Connor will have hints of existential philosophy with reference to the individual, she is

  • 2. Romanticism Was The Period Of The Literary Movement Of... 1783 1830 was the period of the literary movement of Romanticism which was originated in Europe (wiki). The Romantic Movement was partly aroused as a reaction from the Industrial Revolution. Romanticism appeared as a movement which aimed to reject many subjects such as spirits, souls, and instincts from the previous Enlightenment movement and discuss subjects associated with liberalism, radicalism, and nationalism (Nichols, A., 2005). This movement emphasizes on the sources of aesthetic experience, emotions, beauty and sublimity of nature. One of the most obvious principles in this literary movement is the freedom of the poets to express themselves and their feelings. It was considered that in order for poets to express their true feelings, they have to be creative, imaginative and isolated. And the second obvious principle in this literary movement was the principle of genius, which means creation from nothingness, and that was the key of this movement (Waterhouse, 1926; Smith, 1924). In that period, poets seemed to be using ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This stanza gives the reader a vibe of seriousness and sorrow because it asks questions about the significance of the interchange between nature and human mind ( Romanticism , 2010). Shelley brings forth the central problem in this stanza about the equality of the creation with the mind of human being. In these lines, Shelley believes that he was caught in nature with its terrifying giant wonders; then he personifies the big mountain and he also indicates that the mountain is too big to understand. Moreover, Shelley used more than forth of the poem to view the main problems about understanding nature of the power of the everlasting universe of things by using metaphor as in the case of the word River . Johnson uses the headline with metaphorical words and diminutive language in order to portray how Ed Miliband will cause a downturn in the U.K Don t let Ed Miliband sink this country with his commie slab of rock . The use of the metaphorical word sink connotes the idea of the connection Miliband has with regression as the country will be ruined if he comes to power. Furthermore, Johnson uses the diminutive commie slab in order to decrease the importance of communism. Hence, the headline, which s purpose is to catch the attention of the reader, directly associates communism with regression therefore a threat to the British country. The headline facilitates Johnson fulfil his purpose of entertain the Conservative reader as the headline causes humor in the reader. • 9. Bossypants Analysis In Tina Fey s memoir of her life, Bossypants, she provides many examples of challenging the ideas of femininity in today s modern society. This is important because it shows younger women that despite the inequalities for women in the workplace, the inequalities can be overcome, and women can go on to live successful lives with the careers that they want. In Bossypants, Fey tells different anecdotes about the struggles that she ran into during her position as a female writer in Saturday Night Live and how these struggles ultimately made her a better writer and person after she had overcome them. In today s society, one of the biggest examples of inequality in the workplace is that in the majority of the fields, females get paid significantly less than their male co workers who do the same job. The book Bossypants is the perfect example of how to educate the audience about important issues such as inequalities in the workplace while also keeping the audience entertained with one liners and different forms of comedy throughout the whole story. It is important that Fey talks about these examples because she shows that even though she may have struggled and that her male co workers were not always supportive of her, she did her best anyways and she worked to become the boss so that she could be in charge of her own work. In Bossypants, Tina Fey talks about the struggles of being a female writer in her field, and how to focus her energy on her work to become the boss. She elaborates on the inequalities of women in the world of employment and how these inequalities can affect women s careers. One of the most impactful anecdotes that Tina Fey writes about in Bossypants is the encounter she witnesses between Amy Poehler and Jimmy Fallon while she was still a writer for Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey talks about how men and women find different things funny, There s a tremendous amount of overlap in what men and women think is funny (136). She also goes into detail about an exchange between Amy Poehler and Jimmy Fallon that showed her that she was the only one that had to like what she was doing, She was there to do what she wanted to do and she did not fucking care if you liked it (144). Due to being an Ogre, Shrek has lived his life alone and isolated in house in a swamp until various fairytale creatures invade his home. The fairytale creatures have moved themselves into Shrek s swamp because of Lord Farquaad s law. His social disinterest was influenced by various negative confrontations and rumors from others. An example would be when Shrek barged into the church during Lord Farquaad and Fiona s wedding ceremony which then led to Lord Farquaad saying, it s rude enough being alive when no one wants you...(Katzenburg, J., Warner, A., Williams, J.H Adamson, A., Jenson, V. Directors, 2001, scene 17). Multiple negative confrontations can also influence Shrek s low self esteem. As quoted before where Shrek reenacts what he hears other people say to him once they see him, which shows how he currently sees himself based on what he hears other say. Low self esteem is associated with self doubt and social isolation both in which Shrek expresses (MacCutcheon, M., Gilbertson, T., Houdek, N. W. 2007). The self doubt part is expressed when Shrek believes that no one could ever understand or give him affection. Shrek s fears of abandonment could have developed during childhood and increased as he went into adulthood (Abandonment. n.d.). With others fearing and putting bounties on Shrek, he may have experienced a traumatic event, such as losing a parent, during his childhood because of being an ogre. Putting together that others are afraid of Shrek and may want to hurt him, one could tell that Shrek had these negative thoughts and encounters for many years. There are a couple ... Sarasota Real Estate Analysis While most qualified homebuyers with a ready down payment and good credit history are more than welcome by any Sarasota real estate agent, a real estate investor is seen as a pain. In fact, most Sarasota real estate agents consider real estate investors a complete headache when it comes to purchasing any property. There are two main reasons for this... First of all, like any businessperson, a real estate agent likes making a quick and hassle free profit. Secondly, many real estate agents do not have the experience, expertise, or willingness to handle the creative deals that real estate investors need. Nevertheless, real estate investors have no choice but to use an agent because that is the only place where they can access the Multiple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3. Offer the offer yourself. Sometimes real estate investors can come up with very creative offers. Try persuading the real estate agent to allow you to present the offer directly to the seller (with the agent present of course). You want the seller to hear the offer directly from you, as no one else can match your precision and passion in presenting the offer. It will also allow the seller to address any questions directly to you, instead of going through the real estate agent as a middleman. As a real estate investor you may come across many uncooperative real estate agents. • 12. Allusions In Atonement Atonement embraces the notion of literary delusion and great social awareness in the domain of contemporary literature. One of the most interesting aspects of a successful novel is its reference to events and texts beyond its immediate universe. Atonement, written by Ian McEwan, is a novel that transcends literary boundaries by commenting on the narrator s egocentrism, while simultaneously exploring human sexuality and subverting Victorian Puritanical mores of sex. Atonement incorporates numerous literary allusions to works such as Lady Chatterley s Lover, written by D.H Lawrence. A mature and experienced reader would covet an explanation for the inclusion of such a risqué composition, but the motive is simple; to enhance Atonement s themes ... The utilization of modernist technique temporal prolepsis emphasises this, In half an hour Briony would commit her crime , which implies meticulous planning of both Briony as the narrator, and Briony s character in the novel. Thus, the questioning of such literary authority in reflecting the true events is emphasised. In great parallel, one s belief in spiritual superiority stimulates religious delusion, believing they can be exempted of the bible s teachings. Christian teachings were revealed to be particularly questionable with the exploitation of power during the early 20th Century. Roman Catholic priests, consumed with arrogance of their prestigious status, committed innumerable child sexual abuse acts. The Augustin Cardinal Bea, S.J, considered an expert on clerical abuse, stated that approximately 4% of priests during the past half century have had a sexual experience with a minor , accentuating the prevalence of such immoral acts. Although the bible clearly labels exploitation as a sin; But your eyes and your hear are intent only upon your own dishonest gain, and on shedding innocent blood and on practising oppression and extortion. While these claims may be true for a minimal number of feminists, the truth is that in order to get an accurate representation on what feminists actually believe one would have to go to the source. The two main problems with that, are that first of all, it is not rigidly structured or led by a single figure or group , and most importantly there is not just one kind of feminism, there are hundreds in each aspect of our life (Tavaana, 2014). The most under represented group within feminism is the kind that is in the government. Not all have the same theories, and therefore, do not have the same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Libertarian feminists claim that the root of female oppression lies in women s ability to bear children (Gibbs, 2006, p.g 71 93). Liberal feminists on the other hand focus on personal and political autonomy, and see the root of female oppression to be the existence of gender roles. Among all these different kind of feminism, a single political agenda binds them together, a common purpose; gender equality. Like most things, there are misconceptions about certain subjects. For example the media tends to focus on feminist extremist, and (knowingly or unknowingly) perpetuates the stereotype that feminists hate men, and that their agenda includes the eventual societal elevation above men. Nothing could be further from the truth since the actual definition of feminism is, The advocacy of women s rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men. (Oxford Dictionary, 2014). Here we see that it is not a competition to the top of the pyramid, rather it is an effort to join the sexes in equality. The problem that arises from the definition is the lack of explanation of the methods, and ideologies, and that is breeding ground for speculation and therefore misconceptions. The solution to this problem is simple; we must acknowledge that there are different methods employed by different women to reach equality. Even though Giuliani is mostly remembered for his strengths, his weaknesses are usually overlooked. He was criticized for being unfaithful and allowing lust to break up his marriage. Another weakness of Giuliani was his inconsistency to reprimand his police force. Giuliani was a man of positivity. No matter the situation, Giuliani always looked at the positive side of things and didn t allow his emotions to get the best of him. This strength of his leadership style stemmed from the core values his father taught him. In an interview with Barbara Walters, Giuliani talked about what his father taught him. Giuliani explained that his father had taught him how to act during a crisis: When there is a crisis going on, the most important thing is to be calmer. If everybody s getting very upset and very emotional, the best way to figure out your way through it is to actually become calmer and relax more. It started with a new form of acting called method acting that encouraged improvisation. This was key because it gave actors more control over their characters which allowed for more realistic representations of characters allowing audiences to connect better to the film. Having more control over a character is something that I found vital because it adds an even deeper element to the film as a whole. Another important thing added in the 1950s was the addition of subject matters and themes that focused on ordinary individuals. This was important again because it added another element to the films that audiences could connect to. In the 1960s there was even more change to the film industry. For example, there was a new focus on youth, with psychological character studies of offbeat anti heroes. More explicit presentation of sexuality, violence and drug use on screen. Rebellion vs. the American mainstream, with new values and points of view. Self conscious use of cinematic effects, reflecting European influence and new twists on old film genre. I have grown less attached to the desire to whow others over the last 3 years, since I have realized that even a whow given to me now will not be remembered in 6 months. To be perfect sets a person up for an even larger fall when mistakes are made. The team that I lead in Afghanistan has learned from experience that I expect them to perform well but understand and accept when perfect is not obtainable. I had several talks with them while in deployed and explained that my only wish was for them to come home safely. Delivering a perfect no mistake mission while in combat was unrealistic and out of the question. As long as safety to my team was obtained all else could fail an outsiders inspection. By allowing a less than perfect product, there, I won the respect of my team. Learning to lower my expectations in a non combat environment will be a little harder. • 35. Social Studies Reflection The performing arts and social studies integration lesson I taught went well. My students met the math objective of identifying a multitude of shapes, regardless of their overall size, orientation, color, and other non defining attributes. Additionally, my students learned details about the history of Halloween, fulfilling my social studies objective. For my first lesson, learning the history of Halloween, I had planned for my students to compare and contrast traditions now vs. then., meeting the C3 framework standard D2.His.2.K 2. Compare life in the past to life today. Students were supposed to sort traditions as past, present, or both past and present. This was also related to my assessment. While answering a journal prompt, K 2 students were supposed to describe their favorite tradition and identify if it is a past, present, or past and present tradition. Fourth grader students would point to details on our KWL chart, iPad, and picture cards. I provided sentence frames for them to assist their writing. Unfortunately, I ran out of time, and we did not get to sorting. Therefore, fourth grade students had the same assessment as everyone else. I believe there are pros and cons to this. I designed my assessment to offer more differentiation and meet students ability levels. However, I feel that there are benefits in allowing them to participate in the same way as everyone else and practice their handwriting by tracing full sentences, rather than a few words. The ...
