Sample Population Of 303 Beneficiaries Received Palliative...
Results
The final sample population of 303 beneficiaries received palliative radiation treatment in 2014 to
bone metastases. Of those 303 beneficiaries, 24 beneficiaries (7.92%) had single fraction treatments
and 279 beneficiaries (92.1%) had multi fraction treatments. The majority were 65 75 years of age
(n=129; 42.6%) and 76 85 years of age (n=106; 35%). The mean age was 73.3 years, and the majority
were Caucasian (n=276; 91.1%). The majority of all radiation treatments are in the Southeast (n=123;
40.6%) and gender was mostly balanced, with slightly more males than females. Overall, in our study
the most common type of primary cancer to receive radiation for bone metastases are those with a
primary diagnosis of lung cancer. Table 1 titled Demographic and Primary Malignancy
Characteristics, provides a summary of the demographics.
Of the 25 beneficiaries that received a single fraction course of treatment, the most common site of
primary diagnosis was lung (n=10; 55.6%), prostate (n=3; 16.7%) and kidney (n=2; 11.1%). The mean
age was 74.5 years and gender was proportionate. The majority of patients were from the southeast
region (n=12; 50%) of the US. Most beneficiaries were in the age group 76 85 (n=12; 50%), followed
by 65 75 year olds (n =8; 33.3%).
Of the 278 beneficiaries that received multi fraction course of treatment, the most common primary
diagnosis was lung (n=57; 24.3%), prostate (n=52; 22.1%) and breast (n=48; 20.4%). The mean age

A Place Of Power And Glamour
Back then you would consider moving to Philadelphia for a better positive environment. Philly was
known to be a place of power and glamour. Many different ethnic groups lived here, but the biggest
most successful group were the Jews. Jews settled there and made money, went to high end clubs that
played this new genre of music that people back then in the 60 s loved which was jazz. But it wasn t
for long until Philadelphia turned upside down due to the raging silence.
In August 1964 things changed when a car broke down near the intersection of 22nd Street and
Columbia Avenue. Two policemen one white, one black arrived and told the driver, a black woman

The dual started over one of Johnson s friends named Collard Greens who hustled to try and boost
Kareem from Jail until Collard Greens was robbed and killed. Johnson blamed Cassius Broaster .
Taniesha Wiggins a 16 year old mutual acquaintance set up a hostile three way between while Johnson

Comparing Culture in the Poems, What Were They Like, and...
The poem What were they like can be compared to the poem Night of the scorpion. They are both
related to culture. In What were they like , the poet describes events about the Vietnamese people
before the war and in Night of the scorpion , the poet is describing an event that happened to his
mother. Both poems are related to culture and they use poetry as a form of story telling.
In the poem What were they like , it is showing the relations of the Vietnamese people amongst each
other. It is showing how the people got together for ceremonies to reverence the opening of buds. This
shows that they must have been a close community and it also shows that this must have been the
tradition of their ancestors. Similarly, in Night of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be shown by phrases the poet uses; A dream ago perhaps , It is not remembered , There is an
echo yet . All these phrases suggest that the Vietnamese people and their culture have been long
forgotten. In contrast to this, in Night of the scorpion , there is a strong sense of culture and this
culture also leads to faith and religion. The people buzz the name of god a hundred times to paralyse
the evil one. Also, in their culture they also believe that if you stop the scorpion, the poison will not
spread. By this, we can also see how their culture is a lot different to ours. We would go to the hospital
rather than buzz the name of god.
In Night of the scorpion , repetition is used with the word May and people are presented using lots of
speech and continuously chanting and talking. But, they are only doing this to pray for the mother.
This repetition of their prayers may also make us think that they have memorized them and they are
not saying it sincerely. These prayers may have been taught to them since they were little by their
ancestors. However, this also shows their sense of culture as they have not forgotten what their
ancestors did and said. There is also repetition of p in Parting with his poison. The p sounds very harsh
and as if the process was quick. In contrast to this What were they like uses no repetition. The poem is
set out in simple questions

Mayan Culture Essay
Maya, a beautiful, noble, mysterious name what kind of brilliant achievements have ever had? Even
the Maya predicted that the end of 2012 doomsday have caused panic around the world. However, it is
such a strong civilization that seems to have evaporated from this earth overnight. Let people have
deep curiosity on Mayan culture! Let us work together to understand more Maya it.
It is said that the Maya people started to construct religious buildings before the year 1000 AD. The
earliest relics consisted of simple earth mounds and later evolved into pyramids. Early Mayan culture
seemed to be influenced by earlier Olmec civilizations. After their civilization was spread to today s

The most prominent of these are the pyramids and royal palaces built in the religious center. Other
important archaeological remains are the carved slate, which are written in hieroglyphs to describe the

city in classical times, and even people call it Athens of America . Another famous city is Copan.
From the point of view of modern ruins, Tikal, Copan and Palenque can be regarded as the largest
three city states in the classical Mayan civilization. From the ninth century AD, the Mayan culture in

historians. Between the 10th and the 11th centuries AD, the once flourishing Mayan cities were
abandoned and covered by jungles. Since then, with the rise of Chichen Iza, some Mayan city states
have emerged in the northern savannah of the Yucatan Peninsula, beginning the classical period after

Key Themes In Peter Carey s Exotic Pleasures
There are multiple themes that can be discussed from Peter Carey s short story, Exotic Pleasures. The
story s main characters are husband and wife whose life is in a tangle before they meet their other
companion, the bird. The couple is driving in town, torn in deciding how they will use their remaining
few dollars. They even contemplate that they will take food and champagne and leave without paying
for them. However, before they do this, the bird brings in a new kind of fortune for Lilly. Once she
strokes the bird, she feels certain kind of pleasure, which she shares with her husband and many
people afterward. The bird can provide them with extra coins, but the story does not end with them
staying happily ever after. Lilly eventually confesses to Mort that she thinks that he is angry because a
tiny bird could give her the things he could not offer. They almost run into an accident and bitterness
of the argument leads them to drive to a new place, Kennecott, where they meet more of the similar
birds. The story ends in suspense as we do not know what Lilly and Mort do with the newly found
exotic pleasures. The setting of the story contributes to the outlining of the themes in a massive way.
This essay examines ways in which the setting relates to the themes of the story. In the story, Peter
Carey suggests that capitalism is out of control. This theme is supported by different expressions of
the setting in the story. The first setting we experience is a show of modernity

Contrasting Views Of Postwar Germany
Contrasting views of postwar Germany
The major issue after World War II was what to do with Germany. All the then super powers had very
contrasting views on the issue. Various plans were suggested. The two contrasting documents that will
be compared in this paper are The Communist Leadership s Criticism of Rock n Roll Music as a Form
of Western Subversion (October 13, 1963) , and The Spiegel Affair and the Strengths and Weaknesses
of German Democracy (November 12, 1962) . Eventually, defeated Germany was carved into Soviet,
American, British and French zones of occupation. The city of Berlin, though technically part of the
Soviet zone, was also split, with the Soviets taking the eastern part of the city. The communist leader
on the East side Ulbricht closed off the access between the East and West by building the iron curtain .
This can be viewed as the official start of capitalism vs. communism and the Cold War
The political ideologies and values were different in the two regions, as well as how the economy
developed over the years. Capitalism is an economic system characterized by freedom of the market.
Capitalism has many pros to go along with its economy. Communism can be seen as an economic and
political system in which production is collectively owned and directed by the state. It also entailed
the loss of East Germany s freedom and democracy. The differences were so stark that it was like
living in two different worlds. Newer generations from East Germany have

Symbol of Being in Patricia Jabbeth Wesley´s There´s...
In There s Nothing You Can Do , by Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, Patricia exposes the many aspects of life
that cannot be changed. Through the poem, she shows a realization of something that most do not ever
understand or even grasp. She notes, through different scenarios, that life will happen no matter what,
and she must adapt to anything life throws her way. Wesley tells about chilling situations, troubled
children, quarrels of parenting, inescapable aging, unavoidable nationality, and the surety that she
cannot change life. She writes about her take on living through how people have a different symbol of
their being, a different picture of what life looks like, and approach life with a different tone. Humans
do not have a choice in the matter of which race or gender they occupy, but are politically
distinguished through political opinions. Through
There s Nothing You Can Do , Patricia Jabbeh Wesley finds that the absoluteness of life is an
inevitable as breath.
Almost all writing is political. It can even come in the form of everyday situations that are dealt with
by human nature. Power structure, the ranking of classes, rights, and racial, gender, or ethnic groups
are all examples of political aspects of life. In There s
Nothing You Can Do , Wesley first talks about being on a plane during a thunderstorm.
She expresses her panic by saying Nothing, to quell that old fear of crashing. / Nothing about the first

How Did Orpheus Feel Like After Eurydice
I feel like the written myth was better than the movie adaption of it. The movie made some sense more
dramatic than they needed to be and other sense that I thought were pretty important in the myth was
not in the movie at all. None the less I did not think the movie was all that bad when are you are
comparing it to the written myth. Reading the myth before watching the movie might be the best
thing, it helps explain some information that helps explain some things in the movie. One aspect of the
written myth that I really enjoyed is how they explained Orpheus and how his mother gave him the
gift of music, in the movie it is easy to tell that Orpheus really enjoyed music. It was enjoyable to read
the background information that explained ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After reading the myth I feel like the director added the Death to show that Eurydice and Orpheus
relationship was failed from the beginning. They never had a chance to be together they were doomed
from the start. Apart from Death they also had to deal with Orpheus crazy fiancé (Or ex fiancé but
Orpheus never ended things with her) who did not want them together. Mira was the total opposite of
Eurydice. Eurydice had a feeling of innocence with her where Mira just seemed to flaunt everything
she had. I feel like Mira also could represent the Viper that killed Eurydice in the myth. After she
found out that Eurydice pretended to be her cousin to be by Orpheus during the carnival she went
crazy and chased after Eurydice. I feel like the main image that showed Mira as the Viper is when she
grabbed the giant staple like thing they could represent fangs of a viper. I do not think the director put
this scene in the movie for no reason. One aspect of the movie that I liked would be the two little boys.
They helped the movie flow and the story seemed to be mostly told from their points of view. I did
really like how the end of the movie they seemed to end on more of a happy note compared to the
myth. I like how they represented a new Orpheus as one of the little boys since when he played
Orpheus guitar and sun started the rise. They ended the movie but still left

Dictatorship to Democracy Overnight in Indonesia
Dictatorship to Democracy Overnight
Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia that was under a military dictatorship for 32 years. The
dictatorship era started after the failure of communist coup d état by Indonesia s Communist Party in
1966. General Suharto, the one who had the biggest role in failing the coup d état, ousted the first
president and established an autocratic anti communist regime known as the New Order, which
attracted political and economic support from Western governments during the Cold War. At the
beginning of this era, he said he would practice a kind of semi direct democracy, while later, even the
news in newspapers was controlled by the government. His era was ended in 1998 by a huge student
revolution and riots ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast to the New Order era government s reaction to separatist movements in Indonesia, the
reformation era government in its early days made a mistake by giving a referendum to East Timor, a
province in central Indonesia that had longed to form its own country since the New Order era. The
referendum was to stay with Indonesia or to stand as an independent country, and the province chose
the latter choice. This influenced other provinces that are not satisfied with the reformation era
government due to the centralized development in certain parts of the country to start separatist
movements.
Even though Indonesia was led by a dictator during 1966 1998, there were still elections during the
period. The election at that time was to elect one of the three political parties to get their members as
new members of House of Representatives. Since there were only three political parties, each time
there was going to be an election, the campaigns never ended up in chaos and the election ended in
peace. After General Suharto was ousted in 1998, there was some kind of a party craze , everyone
intended to make their own political party, without any limitation from the government. Consequently,
in the 1999 election, people had to choose from 48 political parties. It could be imagined how a
country that was still very unstable after a revolution, had an election with tons of

The Codes Of Practices Within The Uk
Introduction
In this piece of work we will be looking briefly at the different codes of practices established in the
UK about corporate governance, merging in it actual data from one of the largest low cost airlines in
Europe and analyzing through a few scandals the issues they have to manage its business, therefore
come to a conclusion on how they should be overcoming this difficulties. Some theories about CG
will be presented in a brief manner, linking them to the way the chosen company has been running its
business.
Corporate Governance
With the time, companies and businesses have become larger and a more powerful force, meaning
they are doing the right things to keep them afloat and gain profits. This is directly related with the
corporate governance within the organization; so to speak, this term is used to define the way the
companies are being directed by its owners and more important what the managers are doing to guide
and how they are achieving it. Cadbury 1992 defines it as the process by which companies are
directed and controlled.
It is needed when the ownership and the management are separated, so there have to be a way to
control the company in harmony between the two parts.
Corporate governance has developed widely as many theories and new best practices codes have been
introduced since the 90s. The introduction in 1992 of the Cadbury report in the UK, recommended a
code of best practice and made companies to comply with it, and if it was unable to do

Ways To Choose Quinn s Accomplishment Of A Person
Introductory paragraph
According to Dictionary.com, annoy means to disturb or bother (a person) in a way that displeases,
troubles, or slightly irritates. This is Quinn 24/7. He can think of crazy things to annoy you. That is his
accomplishment he has to overcome every day. Everyone in my family knows it. Sometimes I believe
Quinn was specially trained to be seriously annoying because he likes to think of random words and

There are many ways to prove Quinn is annoying, but one is that he always comes up with random
words, phrases, and references. Some are What s your deal? , Honey Lemon , Nut Germ , and Bebo

one time watched a movie and kept saying: What s Your Deal? It was so annoying how he would
always yell it at the top of his lungs 999,999,999,999 times. the other time he kept saying Bebo Guy

Why Electric Vehicles Will Decline In The Future Of...
Why Electric Cars Will Decline In The Future of Automobiles
The Majority of vehicles used to this day utilize gasoline for their primary source of fuel. Because of
this, electric vehicles have faced a decline in the future of their industry due to natural physics that
exists in the world. Although many of the electric vehicles offer benefits, petroleum vehicles naturally
outperform the electric run vehicles. This is the result of the technology of electric vehicles due to its
battery capabilities, performance, impact on the environment, and the financing of the car.
Many of the everyday petrol car is run on a lead acid battery which electric cars simply cannot handle.
The battery used in an electric vehicle would be too heavy which will take up an abundant part of the
vehicle s space. Let alone the battery itself would have to be replaced regularly due to its excessive
amounts of charges used by the car repeatedly. Its battery would also highly reactive and unstable due
to the compound that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

an EV as it is already overpriced. EVs accelerate at around the same speed as some of the best sports
cars, but in many situations, EV cannot even go above a sports transmission speed of a 100 miles per
hour. The urban test programme proposal by the electricity council has told sources that this
performance is adequate resulting in a regular commute travel car. With the low speeds of the car also
comes with the low travel distance of an EV. The average electric vehicle has a drive span of 60 miles
per charge while the gasoline car has the average distance of 200 miles running on a full tank of
gasoline. Because the EV has a low distance of travel, charging will be found most necessary.

The Book Of Genesis
The book of Genesis which directly translates to origin narrates the story of creation. In general,
Genesis 1 3 is an account of how God created the world, human beings, plants and animals, and the
commitment of the first sin. Unlike Malakas and Maganda who sprang from the kawayan at the same
time, a hierarchy of genders can be found in Genesis. The second chapter of the book tells us that man
was created first and was given the primary role to take care of God s creation associated with a sense
of authority. The woman was created after and out of man himself to fulfill the role of being the man s
helper or companion and thus it can be inferred in this account alone that the woman is subjected to a
secondary and subordinate position.

Persuasive Essay On California Drought
California is currently breaking the state record for longest ongoing drought, now entering it s fourth
year. This drought has taken over 98% of the state. Out of that large percentage, over 44% is in
exceptional drought, which is the worst level of drought. There s uncertainty about how long this
drought will continue into the future and how severe the problem will become.
Droughts are caused a number of different ways. Changes in wind patterns move the clouds and
moisture through the atmosphere, which can result in an area having abnormal amounts of rain or
snow over an extended period of time. 4.4 million acre feet of water from the Colorado River is
entitled to California annually. In areas where most water used comes from rivers, droughts can be
caused from places upstream that are not getting enough moisture. In many cases, humans play a big
role in droughts. Excessive use of water during times of regular rainfall lead to not having enough
water during droughts. Chopping down trees makes it tough for soil ... Show more content on

Lack of water makes regular activities such as washing dishes, bathing, cooking, etc., much more
difficult. Not only is California affected negatively by this drought, but our whole nation is suffering.
Being our country s leading producer of food, it has become less simple for California s farmers to
grow mass amounts of fruits and vegetables. The scarcity of water for food production has caused the
prices of food to rise. Since the drought keeps vegetation dry, it has become vulnerable to intense
wildfires. These wildfires create many issues within the ecosystem such as air pollution, destruction of
habitat, and wildlife death. Though most of California s wildlife is adapted to short term dry climate,
living in these conditions for an extensive period of time has increased perishability and reduced

The Old Testament Prophets
Introduction: Haggai is the prophet that tethers the Old Testament Prophets to second temple Judiasm
and New Testament Christianity. The man himself is covered in mystery and intrigue. Who is this
prophet that comes on the scene and vanishes as fast as he appears? The context is in a time when the
Israelites are back in the land YWHW promised, yet things feel much different. The temple is not yet
in construction and the Judeans are having trouble with the indigenous Samaritans. Haggai has a
challenge, but he is just the man for the job, and YWH has called him for just the time as this. Haggai
The person: Little is known of the prophet Haggai. The name Haggai means feast of Yahweh or by
contraction, Hagariah means Yahweh hath girded. This leads scholars to believe that he was born on a
feast day. Another theory is that the writer of the book recorded Haggai s prophecies later, and like
Malachi, gave him a nickname because he prophesied on feast days. He prophesied for a very short
time. Haggai 1:15 record the dates of Haggai s prophetic ministry. He prophesied in the Second year
of King Darius (521 486), in the year 520 from August 29th to December 18th. These 15 short weeks
make up one of the smallest prophetic ministries in the prophetic books. We also know Haggai existed
through other biblical and extra biblical sources. The book of Ezra contains passages mentioning
Haggai initiating the reconstruction of the temple (Ezra 5:1, Ezra 6:14 15). He is documented in

Comparing Aaliyah s I Don T Do And Fefe Do
Almost everyone will go through a breakup. Those who have been through a rough breakup may agree
that heartache hurts. Individuals handle breakups in many different ways; some might become

each artist expresses their emotional response to handling a breakup. Each are fighting to hold on to
the relationship and not wanting to believe that the relationship is actually over.

Margaret Atwood Surfacing Essay
The Black and White World of Atwood s Surfacing
Many people elect to view the world and life as a series of paired opposites love and hate, birth and
death, right and wrong. As Anne Lamott said, it is so much easier to embrace absolutes than to suffer
reality (104). This quote summarizes the thoughts of the narrator in Margaret Atwood s novel
Surfacing. The narrator, whose name is never mentioned, must confront a past that she has tried
desperately to ignore (7). She sees herself and the world around her as either the innocent victim or the
victimizer, never both. Atwoods use of opposing characters and themes throughout the novel serves to
support the narrators view of life as black and white, things that she can ... Show more content on

David victimizes Anna by degrading her, by seeing her as a piece of flesh that he married. She
pretends that the relationship is ordinary, perfect, all the while secretly despising David. When David
forces Anna to strip so that he can film her for Random Samples, the narrator remains on the steps,
watching. I wanted to run down to the dock and stop them, fighting was wrong, we weren t allowed to,
if we did both sides got punished as in a real war (136).
This scene proves to be the turning point in the eyes of the narrator, for the masks that David and
Anna had worn were slowly crumbling. Anna runs off and sleeps with Joe, leaving David alone. She
has become the victimizer. Conversely, David sees himself as the victim. You don t know what she
does to me, he said with a slight whine. She asks for it, she makes me do it (138). Like Anna, he
continues to put up a front to maintain his status in the relationship. Because they have both grown
comfortable in their assumed roles, pulling themselves out of it becomes too difficult, too painful. The
narrator sees this and can identify. This may be why she chooses not to intervene on Anna s behalf.
Atwood places great emphasis on the narrator s feelings towards both Americans and Canadians. In
the novel, America represents the great victimizer, while Canada represents the victim. Author Robert
Lecker notes that The narrator is under the illusion that both

Amylase Production In Bacillus Subtilis Lab Report
Effect of Temperature on Amylase Production in Bacillus subtilis Grace Ann Nader Background
Amylase is an enzyme, produced by plants, animals, and microorganisms, that is used to break down

starch molecules into polymers composed of glucose units, which are used to create glucose, fructose

were many other people that protested too. Claudette Colvin was the first to sit in the front of the bus

There are many reasons why Claudette Colvin has been pretty much unknown. She hardly ever told
her story when she moved to New York City. In her new community, hardly anyone was talking about

World War II: Yet another instance of mass relocation and genocide of an ethnic group. But what
about after the Holocaust? In December 1944, Prime Minister Winston Churchill stood on the world s
stage and announced the largest forced population transfer in human history the ethnic cleansing of
post war Germany (Douglas). Up until the 1970 s or so, resources written in English on this particular
involuntary migration were nonexistent; even in Europe, the subject is considered taboo.
British, American, and Russian governments officialized the controversial decision to expel between

Germany and recognizing those displaced all around Europe (specifically Poland). At about the same
time the Cold War was getting cold, an increasing number of German expellees began to speak up
about their forgotten holocaust. Many created organizations that demanded compensation for their
suffering, especially in West Germany. Still, the Allies kept the discussions to a mum; some (such as
Czechoslovakia) continued to justify the cleansing as a fit punishment for Nazi crimes and refused to
acknowledge the atrocity as anything more. After the fall of the U.S.S.R. and the reconciliation of East
and West Germany, the subject became a slightly more open topic. After the Nuremberg Trials in 1945
concluded that forced immigration was a crime against humanity, the issue could no longer be

although some consider the forced expulsion of Germans after WWII to have been a legal procedure at

European Convention on Human Rights in 1950). The expulsion continues to make appearances in
modern politics, especially in Europe; for instance, a declaration in 1997 by the Czech Republic has
effectively closed the topic and attempted to restrict legal claims made by German descendants (

Rape And The Mortal Rapists
In ancient Greco Roman mythic narrative rape is depicted as a normalised and often essential
paradigm that is used to show the gods dominance over lesser beings. Numerous accounts represent
the gods as having transcended the boundaries of justice and morality by highlighting their exemption
from prosecution for rape in contrast to mortal rapists, who cannot avoid punishment. Furthermore,
aetiological rape myths reveal that only the gods could bring about creation through rape, whether it
be the birth of divine offspring, the dawn of natural phenomena or the founding of new institutions. In
this light, the divine rapists are better than the mortal rapists because at least their penetration can
prove productive for narrative continuity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

maidenhood in the goddess s temple . Thus, these mortal rapists seem to be bound to an ill fate while
the gods are exempt from accountability. After closer examination it is noticed that there are tonal and
textual differences between the myths of divine rapists and mortal rapist, these differences providing
support as to why rape by gods seems less punishable than compared to rape committed by mortal
men. Much of the Daphne and Apollo story carries a sense of excitement and titillation as Ovid
replaces sexually explicit rape with descriptions of Daphne s beauty and her running away: She was
graceful to see, as the wind bared her limbs and its gusts stirred her garments ... he gave the fleeing
maiden no respite, but followed close on her heels, and his breath touched the locks that lay scattered
on her neck. (Ovid, Metamorphoses 1.526 7, 541 3) Apollo could have seized and raped her
immediately but instead attempts to woe her with words in a courtly manner. Upon Daphne turning

The Inerrancy Of His Scriptures Essay
There are posters and bumper stickers declaring that God is dead. It has become fashionable in large
portions of American population to attribute belief in God to a mental disorder, or personality flaw.
This rejection does not change the omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent (Towns 117 122) and
immutable (Towns 102) One. It is in the belief that God is very much alive and is active with His
creation today that the vocation, or calling, of teaching, or sharing knowledge, is vital today. One of

It is important to teach the person of God, the self existent (Exod. 3:13 14) One; the first cause who
cares about his creation. Christianity has been watered down to be more acceptable by the masses.
Doctrine and dogma are no longer of primary importance. Without the teaching of the fundamental
tenets, Christ is a caricature of a sympathetic big brother figure, holding to the form of godliness but
denying its power (2 Tim. 3:5, HCSB). Much of what the unsaved American society knows of Christ
is what is presented at Christmas. Therefore, the birth of the Savior, and the gifts given at the holiday
are what is remembered. The Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation, from alpha to omega, in every jot
and tittle, testify of Christ Jesus. The miracle of the God who became flesh, and lived among men. He
was from God, He was God; eternal and divine. He became the servant to be obedient to God, and
thereby loved both God and mankind (Phil. 2:6 8). This is not the Jesus on Christmas cards. Neither is
it the Jesus who is only historical (Elwell 241), or only a spirit (Elwell 242) it is the God Man fully
able to be the author and finisher of [the] faith (Heb. 12:4, KJV). The Gospel is offensive. It begs the

them pushing each other around with their head, however, the winner wins breeding rights (Morrow

performance of the legend was similar to that of other students that I interviewed. When telling stories
they seemed serious, but by the end their concern was clearly part of the performance.
Many students I interviewed told me relatively the same story, and one female student even mentioned
receiving an e mail about it years ago. Unlike other urban legends I have heard, this story did not
really change significantly from person to person, perhaps because it is so straightforward. Barbara
Mikkelson provided many examples of this warning story, which is usually spread by e mail or fax.
One such example describes the murders as taking place on a certain weekend:
Gang Initiation Weekend. ( Please Read Very Important!!!)
Police officers working with the DARE program has issued this warning: If you are driving after dark
and see an on coming car with no headlights on, DO NOT FLASH YOUR LIGHTS AT THEM! This
is a common Bloods gang member initiation game that goes like this:
The new gang member under initiation drives along with

Of those 303 beneficiaries, 24 beneficiaries (7.92%) had single fraction treatments and 279 beneficiaries (92.1%) had multi fraction treatments. The majority were 65 75 years of age (n=129; 42.6%) and 76 85 years of age (n=106; 35%). The mean age was 73.3 years, and the majority were Caucasian (n=276; 91.1%). The majority of all radiation treatments are in the Southeast (n=123; 40.6%) and gender was mostly balanced, with slightly more males than females. Overall, in our study the most common type of primary cancer to receive radiation for bone metastases are those with a primary diagnosis of lung cancer. Table 1 titled Demographic and Primary Malignancy Characteristics, provides a summary of the demographics. • 4. A Place Of Power And Glamour Back then you would consider moving to Philadelphia for a better positive environment. Philly was known to be a place of power and glamour. Many different ethnic groups lived here, but the biggest most successful group were the Jews. Jews settled there and made money, went to high end clubs that played this new genre of music that people back then in the 60 s loved which was jazz. But it wasn t for long until Philadelphia turned upside down due to the raging silence. In August 1964 things changed when a car broke down near the intersection of 22nd Street and Columbia Avenue. • 5. Comparing Culture in the Poems, What Were They Like, and... The poem What were they like can be compared to the poem Night of the scorpion. They are both related to culture. In What were they like , the poet describes events about the Vietnamese people before the war and in Night of the scorpion , the poet is describing an event that happened to his mother. Both poems are related to culture and they use poetry as a form of story telling. In the poem What were they like , it is showing the relations of the Vietnamese people amongst each other. It is showing how the people got together for ceremonies to reverence the opening of buds. This shows that they must have been a close community and it also shows that this must have been the tradition of their ancestors. Similarly, in Night of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can be shown by phrases the poet uses; A dream ago perhaps , It is not remembered , There is an echo yet . All these phrases suggest that the Vietnamese people and their culture have been long forgotten. In contrast to this, in Night of the scorpion , there is a strong sense of culture and this culture also leads to faith and religion. The people buzz the name of god a hundred times to paralyse the evil one. Also, in their culture they also believe that if you stop the scorpion, the poison will not spread. By this, we can also see how their culture is a lot different to ours. We would go to the hospital rather than buzz the name of god. In Night of the scorpion , repetition is used with the word May and people are presented using lots of speech and continuously chanting and talking. But, they are only doing this to pray for the mother. This repetition of their prayers may also make us think that they have memorized them and they are not saying it sincerely. These prayers may have been taught to them since they were little by their ancestors. However, this also shows their sense of culture as they have not forgotten what their ancestors did and said. There is also repetition of p in Parting with his poison. The p sounds very harsh and as if the process was quick. In contrast to this What were they like uses no repetition. • 7. Key Themes In Peter Carey s Exotic Pleasures There are multiple themes that can be discussed from Peter Carey s short story, Exotic Pleasures. The story s main characters are husband and wife whose life is in a tangle before they meet their other companion, the bird. The couple is driving in town, torn in deciding how they will use their remaining few dollars. They even contemplate that they will take food and champagne and leave without paying for them. However, before they do this, the bird brings in a new kind of fortune for Lilly. Once she strokes the bird, she feels certain kind of pleasure, which she shares with her husband and many people afterward. The bird can provide them with extra coins, but the story does not end with them staying happily ever after. Lilly eventually confesses to Mort that she thinks that he is angry because a tiny bird could give her the things he could not offer. They almost run into an accident and bitterness of the argument leads them to drive to a new place, Kennecott, where they meet more of the similar birds. The story ends in suspense as we do not know what Lilly and Mort do with the newly found exotic pleasures. The setting of the story contributes to the outlining of the themes in a massive way. This essay examines ways in which the setting relates to the themes of the story. In the story, Peter Carey suggests that capitalism is out of control. This theme is supported by different expressions of the setting in the story. The first setting we experience is a show of modernity ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Contrasting Views Of Postwar Germany Contrasting views of postwar Germany The major issue after World War II was what to do with Germany. All the then super powers had very contrasting views on the issue. Various plans were suggested. The two contrasting documents that will be compared in this paper are The Communist Leadership s Criticism of Rock n Roll Music as a Form of Western Subversion (October 13, 1963) , and The Spiegel Affair and the Strengths and Weaknesses of German Democracy (November 12, 1962) . Eventually, defeated Germany was carved into Soviet, American, British and French zones of occupation. The city of Berlin, though technically part of the Soviet zone, was also split, with the Soviets taking the eastern part of the city. The communist leader on the East side Ulbricht closed off the access between the East and West by building the iron curtain . This can be viewed as the official start of capitalism vs. communism and the Cold War The political ideologies and values were different in the two regions, as well as how the economy developed over the years. Capitalism is an economic system characterized by freedom of the market. Capitalism has many pros to go along with its economy. Communism can be seen as an economic and political system in which production is collectively owned and directed by the state. It also entailed the loss of East Germany s freedom and democracy. McMurphy is saying that the patients should be helping each other to take out the bigger authority rather than fighting each other. Later in the novel, McMurphy says he wants to leave the ward and go outside, so he bets with the other patients that he can escape the ward by lifting a fountain attached to the ground and throwing it at a wall to make an exit, even though this task is impossible. Chief Bromden, a patient in the ward and the narrator of this story, describes this event, His whole body shakes with the strain as he tries to lift something he knows he can t lift, something everybody knows he can t lift. But, for just a second, when we hear the cement grind atout feet, we think, by golly, he might just do it. (p. 125). • 11. Symbol of Being in Patricia Jabbeth Wesley´s There´s... In There s Nothing You Can Do , by Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, Patricia exposes the many aspects of life that cannot be changed. Through the poem, she shows a realization of something that most do not ever understand or even grasp. She notes, through different scenarios, that life will happen no matter what, and she must adapt to anything life throws her way. Wesley tells about chilling situations, troubled children, quarrels of parenting, inescapable aging, unavoidable nationality, and the surety that she cannot change life. She writes about her take on living through how people have a different symbol of their being, a different picture of what life looks like, and approach life with a different tone. Humans do not have a choice in the matter of which race or gender they occupy, but are politically distinguished through political opinions. The movie made some sense more dramatic than they needed to be and other sense that I thought were pretty important in the myth was not in the movie at all. None the less I did not think the movie was all that bad when are you are comparing it to the written myth. Reading the myth before watching the movie might be the best thing, it helps explain some information that helps explain some things in the movie. They never had a chance to be together they were doomed from the start. Eurydice had a feeling of innocence with her where Mira just seemed to flaunt everything she had. I feel like Mira also could represent the Viper that killed Eurydice in the myth. After she found out that Eurydice pretended to be her cousin to be by Orpheus during the carnival she went crazy and chased after Eurydice. I feel like the main image that showed Mira as the Viper is when she grabbed the giant staple like thing they could represent fangs of a viper. I do not think the director put this scene in the movie for no reason. One aspect of the movie that I liked would be the two little boys. They helped the movie flow and the story seemed to be mostly told from their points of view. I did really like how the end of the movie they seemed to end on more of a happy note compared to the myth. The dictatorship era started after the failure of communist coup d état by Indonesia s Communist Party in 1966. In contrast to the New Order era government s reaction to separatist movements in Indonesia, the reformation era government in its early days made a mistake by giving a referendum to East Timor, a province in central Indonesia that had longed to form its own country since the New Order era. The referendum was to stay with Indonesia or to stand as an independent country, and the province chose the latter choice. This influenced other provinces that are not satisfied with the reformation era government due to the centralized development in certain parts of the country to start separatist movements. It has become fashionable in large portions of American population to attribute belief in God to a mental disorder, or personality flaw. This rejection does not change the omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent (Towns 117 122) and immutable (Towns 102) One. It is in the belief that God is very much alive and is active with His creation today that the vocation, or calling, of teaching, or sharing knowledge, is vital today. One of the things that sets Yahweh apart from all others that claim deity is the inerrancy of his Scriptures (Elwell 156). Although there are the voices that claim inerrancy is a nineteenth century concoction (Elwell 158), or that Scripture never claims to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is important to teach the person of God, the self existent (Exod. 3:13 14) One; the first cause who cares about his creation. Christianity has been watered down to be more acceptable by the masses. Doctrine and dogma are no longer of primary importance. Without the teaching of the fundamental tenets, Christ is a caricature of a sympathetic big brother figure, holding to the form of godliness but denying its power (2 Tim. 3:5, HCSB). Much of what the unsaved American society knows of Christ is what is presented at Christmas. Therefore, the birth of the Savior, and the gifts given at the holiday are what is remembered. The Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation, from alpha to omega, in every jot and tittle, testify of Christ Jesus. The miracle of the God who became flesh, and lived among men. He was from God, He was God; eternal and divine. He became the servant to be obedient to God, and thereby loved both God and mankind (Phil. 2:6 8). This is not the Jesus on Christmas cards. Neither is it the Jesus who is only historical (Elwell 241), or only a spirit (Elwell 242) it is the God Man fully able to be the author and finisher of [the] faith (Heb. 12:4, KJV). The Gospel is offensive. It begs the hearer to decide who Christ was, and is, and either reject Him or worship ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this case, reducing the total number of customers served would increase the default risk. I must insure that any alternatives don t increase the risk of this business operation unwarrantedly. Perceived Image by Customers: Changing existing contracts and relationships with customers can have positive or adverse affects on how Agro Storage is perceived by customers. It is important that any alternative recommended not damage the reputation of Agro Storage. Such damage could impact future profitability through a lack of sales. It is clear that in this situation profitability is the biggest criterion and will bear the most weight in decision making. Risk is not the most important factor here because of the small range numbers that total customers can vary, and perceived image is not the most important factor since price seems to be the overwhelming factors customers base their decision on. It seems like a warehouses reputation would have to be significantly damaged before customers incorporated it in to their decision making.

  • 34. Monotremes Research Paper Monotremes This group houses only two species: the Echidna and the Platypus. Monotremes received their name from the fact that they possess a cloaca (like birds and reptiles), one hole for reproduction and excretion, additionally, they lay eggs (Loyd, Mitchinson, 67). The short beaked echidna, or spiny anteater (Tachyglossus aculeatus), is native to Australia and New Guinea. It is the most common of the egg laying mammals and is in fact the most widespread of Australian mammals (Morrow and Nicol 2009). The males use their incredible digging skills to make a ten inch deep trench around the tree and then jump inside to battle for mating rights. They are not particularly aggressive in their fighting, really it only consists of them pushing each other around with their head, however, the winner wins breeding rights (Morrow Nicol, 2009). The echidna penis is unique in the fact that it has four heads, additionally, two of those heads will retract for copulation (Scicurious, 2013). This results in a single half of the penis, designed to fit into the female s two branched reproductive system (Loyd Mitchinson, 2007). For every copulation, the heads will alternate, first one side retracting, then the other, this is thought to increase the echidna s chance of fertilization (Loyd Mitchinson, 2007). Gestation last about 27 days, during gestation an abdominal incubating pouch will form on the abdomen of the mother (Anderson Jones, 1984). • 35. Essay On Business Model For Amazon BUSINESS MODEL FOR AMAZON: Amazon has existed in the ecommerce technology world since their inception. They think like a technology company and agile innovators, only innovative in everything they do, not just technology. I chose him because he has experienced a great deal in his life, even serving in the Vietnam War, making him an interesting interviewee. Mr. B.G was born on March 8, 1944 in New England, Arkansas. He was the youngest of eleven children, four girls and seven boys. He grew up with both of his parents; all of them lived together in a small two bedroom farm house. Although they did not have a lot of money, his parents tried to provide him with a happy childhood. One of his fondest memories is playing instruments on the back porch late into the night. • 38. Essay on Urban Legend of Car Headlights Lights Out In preparation for this writing assignment, I interviewed about 15 students at the University to collect their urban legends. One legend, often called Lights Out, was mentioned by just about all of the students I interviewed. Those who did not mention it on their own recognized it when I described it. I interviewed a 19 year old male sophomore who anticipates getting into the School of Business. He transferred from Community College this past fall, and currently lives with a relative in a nearby off campus home. He went to a small Catholic high school. He recalls first hearing this legend early in high school, probably between freshman and sophomore year. After telling him the purpose of the interview, I began the ... The way he smiled at the end of his performance re established his normal disposition and alerted me that his serious tone earlier was just part of the act. His overall performance of the legend was similar to that of other students that I interviewed. When telling stories they seemed serious, but by the end their concern was clearly part of the performance. Many students I interviewed told me relatively the same story, and one female student even mentioned receiving an e mail about it years ago. Unlike other urban legends I have heard, this story did not really change significantly from person to person, perhaps because it is so straightforward. Barbara Mikkelson provided many examples of this warning story, which is usually spread by e mail or fax. One such example describes the murders as taking place on a certain weekend: Gang Initiation Weekend. ( Please Read Very Important!!!) Police officers working with the DARE program has issued this warning: If you are driving after dark and see an on coming car with no headlights on, DO NOT FLASH YOUR LIGHTS AT THEM!
