This study examines production development and management techniques used by companies to improve product and service quality, and business performance metrics like profits and market share. The paper analyzes customer requirement management processes and how requirements are elicited, analyzed, and specified. It also evaluates development processes and applications within organizations. Through a case study of a manufacturing company, the paper develops a framework showing the relationship between components, customer/supplier interactions, and company performance measures. It also explores how organizational context impacts knowledge management.
