A method of induction motor diagnostics based on
the analysis of three-phase instantaneous power spectra has
been offered. Its implementation requires recalculation of
induction motor voltages, aiming at exclusion from induction
motor instantaneous three-phase power signal the component
caused by supply mains dissymmetry and unsinusoidality. The
recalculation is made according to the motor known
electromagnetic parameters, taking into account the
electromotive force induced in stator winding by rotor currents.
The results of instantaneous power parameters computation
proved efficiency of this method in case of supply mains voltage
dissymmetry up to 20%. The offered method has been tested
by experiments. Its applicability for detection of several stator
and rotor winding defects appeared in motor simultaneously
has been proved. This method also makes it possible to
estimate the extent of defects development according to the
size of amplitudes of corresponding harmonics in the spectrum
of total three phase power signal.
FAULT DETECTION AND DIAGNOSIS OF INDUCTION MACHINE WITH ON-LINE PARAMETER PR...Sheikh R Manihar Ahmed
Today all instrumentation system pertaining to industrial process controls as well as domestic application involve automatic fault finding facility. This facility detects the faulty condition of the system and draws operator’s attention towards it enabling him to take suitable remedial action to ensure proper operation of the system. The main purpose of all FDI method is to monitor the system operations and in case of faults accommodate the source of faults so that timely corrective actions are taken. Fault detection simply involves a decision based on the monitored data as to whether there is a fault or the system is running normally. Fault isolation is then executed to identify the type and location of a fault after the fault detection has triggered an alarm so that corrective actions can be made. These two steps are known as Fault Detection and Isolation. Fault diagnosis is referred to as the combination of fault detection, identification and isolation. One such method of annunciation in which activation of visual or mechanical variable takes place when a removed switch or device has been activated as a result of fault in certain system, an audio alarm may also be associated with annunciations. This FDI system is defined and the existing technique to detect & isolate the fault with on-line parameter programming facility. The main advantage of the proposed approach of Control System based fault detection and isolation is its low cost. Low cost in terms of components used makes affordable in terms of easy handling and maintenance and various sensors can be used to give different types of input signals to circuit. An additional advantage is that the real time system still works when the host crashes, the matter that increases the reliability of the system & Data-logging facility can also be provided. A data-logger captures any measurement values which can be represented by a voltage. Nowadays, sensors and transducers are available for, practically, any physical quantity. The function of data-logger is to capture and store a specified number of specified number of sensor measurement values at predefined intervals and transfer the data including date and time to a PC in the form of file.

Diagnosis of broken bars fault in induction machines using higher order spect...ISA Interchange
Detection and identification of induction machine faults through the stator current signal using higher order spectra analysis is presented. This technique is known as motor current signature analysis (MCSA). This paper proposes two higher order spectra techniques, namely the power spectrum and the slices of bi-spectrum used for the analysis of induction machine stator current leading to the detection of electrical failures within the rotor cage. The method has been tested by using both healthy and broken rotor bars cases for an 18.5 kW-220 V/380 V-50 Hz-2 pair of poles induction motor under different load conditions. Experimental signals have been analyzed highlighting that bi-spectrum results show their superiority in the accurate detection of rotor broken bars. Even when the induction machine is rotating at a low level of shaft load (no-load condition), the rotor fault detection is efficient. We will also demonstrate through the analysis and experimental verification, that our proposed proposed-method has better detection performance in terms of receiver operation characteristics (ROC) curves and precision-recall graph.

This paper presents steps in designing dimensions of antenna and feed in axisymmetrical Cassegrain Antennas. Corrugated conical horns are used as feeds in applications with circular polarization. In the initial design steps, diameter of the main reflector is determined considering communication link budget, then feed dimensions are designed to create optimum aperture efficiency. In the last step of design, considering feed dimensions and the amount of its center phase displacements with respect to its aperture plane, dimensions of subreflector is determined to avoid additional blockage. To illustrate the procedure, an applicative design example is presented in X-band.
Many technologies are introduced in monitoring the fault occurrence in the electric motors used in industrial applications. Sound Accusation, current signature analysis, and vibration based motor fault detection systems are widely used in present years. From all these methods analyzing the motor vibration pattern produces more accuracy in finding an occurrence of different faults in the electric motor. The frequency of vibration generated by the MEMS vibration sensor differs for rotor, stator and bearing faults. The signal generated is analyzed using three important techniques namely wavelet analysis, Dyadic Transformation, and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System(WAD Technique). Hardware with ARM microcontroller and ADXL MEMS vibration sensor was used to perform signal acquisition, and the generated signal is processed using the MATLAB software, and the speed of the motor is controlled based on the processed result. The performance of the system with all three algorithms was recorded, and the efficiency of the system is compared.
Asymmetrical fault detection in de energized distribution feedereSAT Journals
Abstract After maintenance or repairing of the de-energized distribution feeder there is need of safely energizing of feeder for the utility’s safety. The safely energizing can be done by determining the fault exists on the distribution system before energizing the system again. The fault detection in de-energized distribution feeder is more difficult than the energized distribution feeder since it requires the system level voltage production and execution to the downstream. Here we implemented an asymmetrical fault detection method to detect the fault before re-energizing the distribution feeder. A controllable signal is feed into de-energized distribution feeder using a thyristor based device to generate the electrical response. The strength of signal can be adjusted from low to high to detect low impedance fault at the beginning, since the maximum faults on distribution system are low impedance faults. A low strength signal may act as an alarm to the personnel or animal in contact with the live part of the system so that they can get away from the system to avoid getting sudden electric shock. Also the major faults on distribution systems are asymmetrical faults so it is necessary to identify and detect the asymmetrical faults before Re-energizing the feeder. The detection and classification of different asymmetrical faults is also explained in this paper. For the determination of the faults we are analyzing the voltage and current signals of the downstream feeder. The fault detection algorithm and control strategies of thyristors are also described for different faults and analyzed by using computer simulation in MATLAB. Phase imbalance
Rotor bar faults
Winding lamination defects
Stator faults
Field studies have shown that up to 20% of all induction motors in use suffer from problems such as high resistance joints, cracked or broken rotor bars or air-gap eccentricities. Inter-turn short-circuit (ITSC) faults on the induction machine has received much attention in the recent years. Early detection of such faults in wind turbine systems would allow to avoid fluctuation on wind power output and maintain the reliability level. In this paper, Sliding Mode Observers (SMO)-based fault detection and isolation method is developed for induction generator (IG)-based variable-speed grid-connected wind turbines. Firstly, the dynamic model of the wind turbine and IG was given and then, the control was made based on Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) method. The IG closed-loop via Indirect Rotor Flux Oriented Control (IRFOC) scheme was also described. Hence, the performance of the wind turbine system and the stability of injected power to the grid were analyzed under the ITSC fault conditions. The control schemes were proved to be inherently unstable under the faulty conditions. Then, robust SMO were investigated to design an ITSC fault detection and isolation scheme. Finally, simulation results of ITSC detection and isolation in the variable-speed grid-connected wind turbine with affected IG confirm the theoretical development.

SINGLE PHASING, PHASE REVERSAL, OVERVOLTAGE, UNDER VOLTAGE AND OVERHEATING PR...Michael George
This paper tends to develop for protection of three phase induction motor from single phasing, phase reversal, over voltage and under voltage. Due to this electrical fault the winding of motor get heated which lead to insulation failure and thus reduce the life time of motor. This fault is generated in induction motor due to variation in induction motor parameters. When three phase induction motor runs continuously, it is necessary to protect the motor from these anticipated faults. Three phase induction motor generally directly connected through the supply, if the supply voltage has sag and swell due to fault the performance of motor is affected and in some cases winding is burned out. When phase sequence (RYB) is reversed due to wrong connection then motor start rotating in another direction, if supply system has only one phase and other phase is disconnected then it is single phasing problem.
Induction motor modelling and applicationsUmesh Dadde
A three-phase induction motor is one of the most popular and versatile motor in electrical
power system and industries. It can perform the best when operated using a balanced three-phase
supply of the correct frequency. In spite of their robustness they do occasionally fail and their
resulting unplanned downtime can prove very costly. Therefore, condition monitoring of
electrical machines has received considerable attention in recent years.
AC Induction motor (IM) are used as actuators in many industrial processes. Although IMs are reliable, they are subjected to some undesirable stresses, causing faults resulting in failure. Monitoring of an IM is a fast emerging technology for the detection of initial faults. It avoids unexpected failure of an industrial process. Monitoring techniques can be classified as the conventional and the digital techniques.
1.1 PROTECTION SCHEME OF INDUCTION MOTOR
Classical monitoring techniques for three-phase IMs are generally provided by some combination of mechanical and electrical monitoring equipment. Mechanical forms of motor sensing are also limited in ability to detect electrical faults, such as stator insulation failures. In addition, the mechanical parts of the equipment can cause problems in the course of operation and can reduce the life and efficiency of a system.
It is well known that IM monitoring has been studied by many researchers and reviewed in a number of works. Reviews about various stator faults and their causes, and detection techniques, latest trends, and diagnosis methods supported by the artificial intelligence, the microprocessor, the computer and other techniques in monitoring unbalanced voltage inter turn faults, stator winding temperature and microcontroller based digital protectors have been recently studied subjects. In these, while one or two variables were considered together to protect the IMs, the variables of the motor were not considered altogether. Measurements of the voltages, currents, temperatures, and speed were achieved and transferred to the computer for final protection decision.
A programmable integrated circuit (PIC) based protection system has been introduced using Microprocessors and the solutions of various faults of the phase currents, the phase voltages, the speed, and the winding temperatures of an IM occurring in operation have been achieved with the help of the microcontroller, but these electrical parameters have not been displayed on a screen.
Nowadays, the most widely used area of programmable logic controller (PLC) is the control circuits of industrial automation systems. The PLC systems are equipped with special I/O units appropriate for direct usage in industrial automation systems. The input components, such as the pressure, the level, and the temperature sensors, can be directly connected to the input. The driver components of the control circuit such as contactors and solenoid valves can directly be connected to the output.

Online detection of interturn short-circuit fault in induction motor based o...IJECEIAES
In this paper we propose a strategy for real-time detection of interturn shortcircuit faults (ISCF) on three-phase induction motor (IM) by using a VoldKalman filter (VKF) algorithm. ISCF produce a thermal stress into the stator winding due to large current that flows through the short-circuited turns. Therefore, incipient fault detection is required in order to avoid catastrophic failures such as phase to phase, or phase to ground faults. The strategy is based on an analytical IM model that includes a ISCF fault in any of the phase windings and considering the h -th harmonic in the voltage supply. Based on equivalent electrical circuits with harmonics in sequence components, we propose a strategy for detection of an ISCF on IM by tracking the 5th harmonic current component using a VKF algorithm. The proposed model is experimentally validated using a three-phase IM with modified stator windings to generate ISCF. Also, the IM is feeded by a programmable voltage source to synthesize distorted voltage supply with the 5th harmonic. The results demonstrated that the positive-sequence magnitude for the 5th harmonic current component is a good indicator of the fault severity once it exceeds a threshold limit value, even under load variations and unbalanced voltages.

Advance Current Monitoring Techniques to Detect and Diagnosis the Inter-Turn ...theijes
This paper presents the results of stator inter-turn fault detection and diagnosis in three phase induction motor using different types of current monitoring techniques such as: motor current signature analysis (MCSA), Current Concordia Vector, extend park vector approach (EPVA). Where the use of several signal processing techniques for extracting more information about the fault, will help us knowing the characteristics of each method in order to choose the best way to diagnose this type of machine fault. The tests show that the EPVA technique can diagnose the inter-turn fault with high accuracy compared with the other techniques. Because there is a similarity between the inter-turn frequency component and other machine faults frequency components (mixed air gap eccentricity, unbalance supply voltage) resulting a wrong discussion about the machine condition.
Efficiency, reliability, high power quality and continuous operation are important aspects in electric vehicle attraction system. Therefore, quick fault detection, isolation and enhanced fault-tolerant control for open-switches faults in inverter driving systems become more and more required in this filed. However, fault detection and localization algorithms have been known to have many performance limitations due to speed variations such as wrong decision making of fault occurrence. Those weaknesses are investigated and solved in this paper using currents magnitudes fault indices, current direct component fault indices and a decision system. A simulation model and experimental setup are utilized to validate the proposed concept. Many simulation and experimental results are carried out to show the effectiveness of the proposed fault detection approach.

Voltage disturbance is the most important power quality problem faced by many industrial customers. It includes voltage sag, swell, spikes and harmonics. Real time detection of these voltage disturbances posed various problems. This paper compares the various methods of detection of voltage sag and swells in real time on the basis of detection time, magnitude, effect of windowing and effect of sampling frequencies. The RMS, Peak, Fourier transform and Missing Voltage algorithm are introduced and discussed in them for real time implementation. Comparative analysis reveals that quantification of voltage sag and swell is possible using these measurements. The main focus is given on to these points and all the voltage sag and swell detection technique tested online with the help of advantech card data acquisition. The voltage sag and swell events are generated by using practical experimentation in laboratory.

Studies to find effective methods to identify and locate faults in distribution networks are still relevant, in addition to the presence of harmonic signals that distort waves and create deviations in the power system that can cause many problems to the protection relay. This study focuses on a single line-to-ground (SLG) fault location algorithm in a power system distribution network based on fundamental frequency measured using the differential equation method. The developed algorithm considers the presence of harmonics components in the simulation network. In this study, several filters were tested to obtain the lowest fault location error to reduce the effect of harmonic components on the developed fault location algorithm. The network model is simulated using the alternate transients program (ATP)Draw simulation program. Several fault scenarios have been implemented during the simulation, such as fault resistance, fault distance, and fault inception angle. The final results show that the proposed algorithm can estimate the fault distance successfully with an acceptable fault location error. Based on the simulation results, the differential equation continuous wavelet technique (CWT) filter-based algorithm produced an accurate fault location result with a mean average error (MAE) of less than 5%.
Detection of Broken Bars in Three Phase Squirrel Cage Induction Motor using F...Dr.NAGARAJAN. S
Finite element method is more precise than the winding function approach, as it is based on the actual geometry of the machine and the machine model can easily be modified in order to study the effect of faults on the machine’s performance. Accurate models of the machine under healthy and faulty conditions are developed. This paper presents simulations of broken bars detection in a three phase squirrel cage induction motor under no load, half load and full load conditions for two and eight broken bars. The analysis is done using MagNet.
Monitoring of solenoid parameters based on neural networks and optical fiber s...IJECEIAES
As crucial parts of various engineering systems, solenoid valves (SVs) operated by electromagnetic solenoid (EMS) are of great importance and their failure may lead to cause unexpected casualties. This failure, characterized by a degradation of the performances of the SVs, could be due to a fluctuations in the EMS parameters. These fluctuations are essentially attributed to the changes in the spring constant, coefficient of friction, inductance, and the resistance of the coil. Preventive maintenance by con- trolling and monitoring these parameters is necessary to avoid eventual failure of these actuators. The authors propose a new methodology for the functional diagnosis of electromagnetic solenoids (EMS) used in hydraulic systems. The proposed method monitors online the electrical and mechanical parameters varying over time by using articial neural networks algorithm coupled with an optical fiber polarization squeezer based on EMS for polarization scrambling. First, the MATLAB/Simulink model is proposed to analyze the effect of the parameters on the dynamic EMS model. The result of this simulation is used for training the neural network. Then a simulation is proposed using the neural net tting toolbox to determine the solenoid parameters (Resistance of the coil R, stiffness K and coefficient of friction B of the spring) from the coefficients of the transfer function, established from the model step response. Future work will include not only diagnosing failure modes, but also predicting the remaining life based on the results of monitoring.

Transmission line short circuit analysis by impedance matrix method IJECEIAES
Fault analysis is the process of determining the magnitude of fault voltage and current during the occurrence of different types of fault in electrical power system. Transmission line fault analysis is usually done for both symmetrical and unsymmetrical faults. Symmetrical faults are called three-phase balance fault while unsymmetrical faults include: single line-to-ground, line-to-line, and double line-to-ground faults. In this research, bus impedance matrix method for fault analysis is presented. Bus impedance matrix approach has several advantages over Thevenin’s equivalent method and other conventional approaches. This is because the off-diagonal elements represent the transfer impedance of the power system network and helps in calculating the branch fault currents during a fault. Analytical and simulation approaches on a single line-to-ground fault on 3-bus power system network under bolted fault condition were used for the study. Both methods were compared and result showed negligible deviation of 0.02% on the average. The fault currents under bolted condition for the single line-to-ground fault were found to be 4. 7244p.u while the bus voltage is 0. 4095p.u for buses 1 and 2 respectively and 0. 00p.u for bus 3 since the fault occurred at this bus. Therefore, there is no need of burdensomely connecting the entire three sequence network during fault analysis in electrical power system.

Transmission line is the most important part of the power system. Transmission lines a principal amount of power. The requirement of power and its allegiance has grown up exponentially over the modern era, and the major role of a transmission line is to transmit electric power from the source area to the distribution network. The exploded between limited production, and a tremendous claim has grown the focus on minimizing power losses. Losses like transmission loss and also conjecture factors as like as physical losses to various technical losses, Another thing is the primary factor it has a reactive power and voltage deviation are momentous in the long-range transmission power line. In essentially, fault analysis is a very focusing issue in power system engineering to clear fault in short time and re-establish power system as quickly as possible on very minimum interruption. However, the fault detection that interrupts the transmission line is itself challenging task to investigate fault as well as improving the reliability of the system. The transmission line is susceptible given all parameters that connect the whole power system. This paper presents a review of transmission line fault detection.
Concurrent Detection and Classification of Faults in Matrix Converter using T...IAES-IJPEDS
This paper presents a fault diagnostic algorithm for detecting and locating open-circuit and short-circiut faults in switching components of matrix converters (MCs) which can be effectively used to drive a permanent magnet synchronous motor for research in critical applications. The proposed method is based on monitoring the voltages and currents of the switches. These measurements are used to evaluate the forward trans-conductance of each transistor for different values of switch voltages. These trans-conductance values are then compared to the nominal values. Under healthy conditions, the values obtained for the fault signal is less than the tolerable value. Under the open/short-circuit conditions, the fault signal exceeds the threshold, hence enables the matrix converter drive to detect and exactly identify the location of the faulty IGBT. The main advantages of this diagnostic method include fast detection and locating of the faulty IGBT, easiness of implementation and independency of the modulation strategy of the converter.
A comprehensive fuzzy-based scheme for online detection of operational and t...IJECEIAES
Operational modes and topological changes affect power flow in the power systems. As a result, a broad spectrum of protection issues may happen in the power system. So, both the operational and topological changes should be detected fast to prevent blackouts. On the other hand, the existing detection schemes are complex in analyzing and implementation. Therefore, there is a need for an online scheme to identify the network's topology and operation mode simultaneously without complex computations and additional communication infrastructures. To this end, a comprehensive scheme is proposed in which the changes are detected by analyzing the power flow obtained from the network. For this purpose, line outage contingencies and operation modes are defined in rules to be used in a fuzzy inference system (FIS) as a decision-making tool. The proposed scheme can be implemented on existing lines as a communication infrastructure and determines the network’s status in an online manner. Also, in comparison to the existing schemes, the proposed scheme reduces the complexity and the computational burden. The proposed scheme is implemented on IEEE 8-bus system and the results proved its efficiency.

paper. This study presents robust tuning of PID-PSS and
SVC-based controllers using Genetic Algorithms (GA) in
multi machine power systems by considering detailed model

Optimal Placement of DG for Loss Reduction and Voltage Sag Mitigation in Radi...IDES Editor
This paper presents the need to operate the power
system economically and with optimum levels of voltages has
further led to an increase in interest in Distributed
Generation. In order to reduce the power losses and to improve
the voltage in the distribution system, distributed generators
(DGs) are connected to load bus. To reduce the total power
losses in the system, the most important process is to identify
the proper location for fixing and sizing of DGs. It presents a
new methodology using a new population based meta heuristic
approach namely Artificial Bee Colony algorithm(ABC) for
the placement of Distributed Generators(DG) in the radial
distribution systems to reduce the real power losses and to
improve the voltage profile, voltage sag mitigation. The power
loss reduction is important factor for utility companies because
it is directly proportional to the company benefits in a
competitive electricity market, while reaching the better power
quality standards is too important as it has vital effect on
customer orientation. In this paper an ABC algorithm is
developed to gain these goals all together. In order to evaluate
sag mitigation capability of the proposed algorithm, voltage
in voltage sensitive buses is investigated. An existing 20KV
network has been chosen as test network and results are
compared with the proposed method in the radial distribution
system.
Line Losses in the 14-Bus Power System Network using UPFCIDES Editor
Controlling power flow in modern power systems
can be made more flexible by the use of recent developments
in power electronic and computing control technology. The
Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is a Flexible AC
transmission system (FACTS) device that can control all the
three system variables namely line reactance, magnitude and
phase angle difference of voltage across the line. The UPFC
provides a promising means to control power flow in modern
power systems. Essentially the performance depends on proper
control setting achievable through a power flow analysis
program. This paper presents a reliable method to meet the
requirements by developing a Newton-Raphson based load
flow calculation through which control settings of UPFC can
be determined for the pre-specified power flow between the
lines. The proposed method keeps Newton-Raphson Load Flow
(NRLF) algorithm intact and needs (little modification in the
Jacobian matrix). A MATLAB program has been developed to
calculate the control settings of UPFC and the power flow
between the lines after the load flow is converged. Case studies
have been performed on IEEE 5-bus system and 14-bus system
to show that the proposed method is effective. These studies
indicate that the method maintains the basic NRLF properties
such as fast computational speed, high degree of accuracy and
good convergence rate.
Study of Structural Behaviour of Gravity Dam with Various Features of Gallery...IDES Editor
The size and shape of opening in dam causes the
stress concentration, it also causes the stress variation in the
rest of the dam cross section. The gravity method of the analysis
does not consider the size of opening and the elastic property
of dam material. Thus the objective of study is comprises of
the Finite Element Method which considers the size of
opening, elastic property of material, and stress distribution
because of geometric discontinuity in cross section of dam.
Stress concentration inside the dam increases with the opening
in dam which results in the failure of dam. Hence it is
necessary to analyses large opening inside the dam. By making
the percentage area of opening constant and varying size and
shape of opening the analysis is carried out. For this purpose
a section of Koyna Dam is considered. Dam is defined as a
plane strain element in FEM, based on geometry and loading
condition. Thus this available information specified our path
of approach to carry out 2D plane strain analysis. The results
obtained are then compared mutually to get most efficient
way of providing large opening in the gravity dam.
Assessing Uncertainty of Pushover Analysis to Geometric ModelingIDES Editor
Pushover Analysis a popular tool for seismic
performance evaluation of existing and new structures and is
nonlinear Static procedure where in monotonically increasing
loads are applied to the structure till the structure is unable
to resist the further load .During the analysis, whatever the
strength of concrete and steel is adopted for analysis of
structure may not be the same when real structure is
constructed and the pushover analysis results are very sensitive
to material model adopted, geometric model adopted, location
of plastic hinges and in general to procedure followed by the
analyzer. In this paper attempt has been made to assess
uncertainty in pushover analysis results by considering user
defined hinges and frame modeled as bare frame and frame
with slab modeled as rigid diaphragm and results compared
with experimental observations. Uncertain parameters
considered includes the strength of concrete, strength of steel
and cover to the reinforcement which are randomly generated
and incorporated into the analysis. The results are then
compared with experimental observations.

Selfish Node Isolation & Incentivation using Progressive ThresholdsIDES Editor
The problems associated with selfish nodes in
MANET are addressed by a collaborative watchdog approach
which reduces the detection time for selfish nodes thereby
improves the performance and accuracy of watchdogs[1]. In
the related works they make use of credit based systems, reputation
based mechanisms, pathrater and watchdog mechanism
to detect such selfish nodes. In this paper we follow an approach
of collaborative watchdog which reduces the detection
time for selfish nodes and also involves the removal of such
selfish nodes based on some progressively assessed thresholds.
The threshold gives the nodes a chance to stop misbehaving
before it is permanently deleted from the network.
The node passes through several isolation processes before it
is permanently removed. Another version of AODV protocol
is used here which allows the simulation of selfish nodes in
NS2 by adding or modifying log files in the protocol.
Various OSI Layer Attacks and Countermeasure to Enhance the Performance of WS...IDES Editor
Wireless sensor networks are networks having non
wired infrastructure and dynamic topology. In OSI model each
layer is prone to various attacks, which halts the performance
of a network .In this paper several attacks on four layers of
OSI model are discussed and security mechanism is described
to prevent attack in network layer i.e wormhole attack. In
Wormhole attack two or more malicious nodes makes a covert
channel which attracts the traffic towards itself by depicting a
low latency link and then start dropping and replaying packets
in the multi-path route. This paper proposes promiscuous mode
method to detect and isolate the malicious node during
wormhole attack by using Ad-hoc on demand distance vector
routing protocol (AODV) with omnidirectional antenna. The
methodology implemented notifies that the nodes which are
not participating in multi-path routing generates an alarm
message during delay and then detects and isolate the
malicious node from network. We also notice that not only
the same kind of attacks but also the same kind of
countermeasures can appear in multiple layer. For example,
misbehavior detection techniques can be applied to almost all
the layers we discussed.

Cloud Security and Data Integrity with Client Accountability FrameworkIDES Editor
The Cloud based services provide much efficient
and seamless ways for data sharing across the cloud. The fact
that the data owners no longer possess data makes it very
difficult to assure data confidentiality and to enable secure
data sharing in the cloud. Despite of all its advantages this
will remain a major limitation that acts as a barrier to the
wider deployment of cloud based services. One of the possible
ways for ensuring trust in this aspect is the introduction of
accountability feature in the cloud computing scenario. The
Cloud framework requires promotion of distributed
accountability for such dynamic environment[1]. In some
works, there‘s an accountable framework suggested to ensure
distributed accountability for data sharing by the generation
of only a log of data access, but without any embedded feedback
mechanism for owner permission towards data
protection[2].The proposed system is an enhanced client
accountability framework which provides an additional client
side verification for each access towards enhanced security of
data. The integrity of content of data which resides in the
cloud service provider is also maintained by secured
outsourcing. Besides, the authentication of JAR(Java Archive)
files are done to ensure file protection and to maintain a safer
environment for data sharing. The analysis of various
functionalities of the framework depicts both the
accountability and security feature in an efficient manner.
Genetic Algorithm based Layered Detection and Defense of HTTP BotnetIDES Editor
A System state in HTTP botnet uses HTTP protocol
for the creation of chain of Botnets thereby compromising
other systems. By using HTTP protocol and port number 80,
attacks can not only be hidden but also pass through the
firewall without being detected. The DPR based detection
leads to better analysis of botnet attacks [3]. However, it
provides only probabilistic detection of the attacker and also
time consuming and error prone. This paper proposes a Genetic
algorithm based layered approach for detecting as well as
preventing botnet attacks. The paper reviews p2p firewall
implementation which forms the basis of filtering.
Performance evaluation is done based on precision, F-value
and probability. Layered approach reduces the computation
and overall time requirement [7]. Genetic algorithm promises
a low false positive rate.
Enhancing Data Storage Security in Cloud Computing Through SteganographyIDES Editor
in cloud computing data storage is a significant issue
because the entire data reside over a set of interconnected
resource pools that enables the data to be accessed through
virtual machines. It moves the application software’s and
databases to the large data centers where the management of
data is actually done. As the resource pools are situated over
various corners of the world, the management of data and
services may not be fully trustworthy. So, there are various
issues that need to be addressed with respect to the
management of data, service of data, privacy of data, security
of data etc. But the privacy and security of data is highly
challenging. To ensure privacy and security of data-at-rest in
cloud computing, we have proposed an effective and a novel
approach to ensure data security in cloud computing by means
of hiding data within images following is the concept of
steganography. The main objective of this paper is to prevent
data access from cloud data storage centers by unauthorized
users. This scheme perfectly stores data at cloud data storage
centers and retrieves data from it when it is needed.
The main tasks of a Wireless Sensor Network
(WSN) are data collection from its nodes and communication
of this data to the base station (BS). The protocols used for
communication among the WSN nodes and between the WSN
and the BS, must consider the resource constraints of nodes,
battery energy, computational capabilities and memory. The
WSN applications involve unattended operation of the network
over an extended period of time. In order to extend the lifetime
of a WSN, efficient routing protocols need to be adopted. The
proposed low power routing protocol based on tree-based
network structure reliably forwards the measured data towards
the BS using TDMA. An energy consumption analysis of the
WSN making use of this protocol is also carried out. It is
found that the network is energy efficient with an average
duty cycle of 0:7% for the WSN nodes. The OmNET++
simulation platform along with MiXiM framework is made
use of.
Permutation of Pixels within the Shares of Visual Cryptography using KBRP for...IDES Editor
The security of authentication of internet based
co-banking services should not be susceptible to high risks.
The passwords are highly vulnerable to virus attacks due to
the lack of high end embedding of security methods. In order
for the passwords to be more secure, people are generally
compelled to select jumbled up character based passwords
which are not only less memorable but are also equally prone
to insecurity. Multiple use of distributed shares has been
studied to solve the problem of authentication by algorithms
based on thresholding of pixels in image processing and visual
cryptography concepts where the subset of shares is considered
for the recovery of the original image for authentication using
correlation function[1][2].The main disadvantage in the above
study is the plain storage of shares and also one of the shares
is being supplied to the customer, which will lead to the
possibility of misuse by a third party. This paper proposes a
technique for scrambling of pixels by key based random
permutation (KBRP) within the shares before the
authentication has been attempted. Total number of shares to
be created is dependent on the multiplicity of ownership of
the account. By this method the problem of uncertainty among
the customers with regard to security, storage, retrieval of
holding of half of the shares is minimized.

12.4dB at 1.8GHz. Beam to array port phase error variation
with change in the focal ratio and element spacing has also
been investigated.
Band Clustering for the Lossless Compression of AVIRIS Hyperspectral ImagesIDES Editor
Hyperspectral images can be efficiently compressed
through a linear predictive model, as for example the one
used in the SLSQ algorithm. In this paper we exploit this
predictive model on the AVIRIS images by individuating,
through an off-line approach, a common subset of bands, which
are not spectrally related with any other bands. These bands
are not useful as prediction reference for the SLSQ 3-D
predictive model and we need to encode them via other
prediction strategies which consider only spatial correlation.
We have obtained this subset by clustering the AVIRIS bands
via the clustering by compression approach. The main result
of this paper is the list of the bands, not related with the
others, for AVIRIS images. The clustering trees obtained for
AVIRIS and the relationship among bands they depict is also
an interesting starting point for future research.

Texture Unit based Monocular Real-world Scene Classification using SOM and KN...IDES Editor
In this paper a method is proposed to discriminate
real world scenes in to natural and manmade scenes of similar
depth. Global-roughness of a scene image varies as a function
of image-depth. Increase in image depth leads to increase in
roughness in manmade scenes; on the contrary natural scenes
exhibit smooth behavior at higher image depth. This particular
arrangement of pixels in scene structure can be well explained
by local texture information in a pixel and its neighborhood.
Our proposed method analyses local texture information of a
scene image using texture unit matrix. For final classification
we have used both supervised and unsupervised learning using
K-Nearest Neighbor classifier (KNN) and Self Organizing
Map (SOM) respectively. This technique is useful for online
classification due to very less computational complexity.
