The document describes a novel tunable dual-band bandpass filter using stub-loaded stepped-impedance resonators. The filter offers high selectivity with 5-6 transmission zeros between passbands and independent tunability of each passband using only one control voltage per passband. A prototype was fabricated and measured, demonstrating tuning ranges of 0.8-1.02 GHz for the first passband and 2.02-2.48 GHz for the second passband, with insertion losses below 3 dB and return losses above 15 dB across the tuning ranges. The design improves on previous dual-band tunable filters by providing higher selectivity, independent passband tuning with fewer control voltages.
