This document defines conventional and non-conventional forms of agribusiness. Conventional agribusiness refers to traditional approaches in the input, production, and product sectors, while non-conventional uses modern science and technology. Non-conventional forms discussed include plant tissue culture, controlled atmosphere storage for fruit preservation, biotechnology like BT cotton, and making fruit pulps to extend the season for fruit juices. The importance of non-conventional approaches is to meet the growing demand for food and make agribusiness more economically viable and affordable.
