This document presents on the role of active DNA demethylation in plant-virus interactions. It discusses geminiviruses, DNA methylation, and the general objective. It describes methods that will be used such as RT qPCR, co-immunoprecipitation, and Western blot analysis. Results are presented in Figures 1, 2, and 4. The discussion cites several references and findings about DME expression leading to hypermethylation and downregulation of genes. It concludes that genetic testing can help identify which drug works best against a specific virus to avoid pathogenesis.
