7 Aging Tv Research Paper
7 aging TV stars who will make you feel old AF (–– removed HTML ––) Nothing makes you feel as
old as looking at actors from television shows that you used to watch when you were younger and
realizing that they're incredibly old now. Their aging just reminds you that you're not getting any
younger. Check out these seven aging TV stars who will make you feel as old AF. 1. Matt LeBlanc
Matt LeBlanc became a TV star after playing Joey on the hit show Friends. He's now 50 years old;
can you believe that? Gone are the days when he was a 20–something living across the hall from
Rachel and Monica. (–– removed HTML ––) 2. Jerry Stiller You'll know Jerry Stiller from King of

Review Of ' The Piano ' Essay
Sebastian leaned against the piano and tested the strings of his violin while his cousin, Billy, sat on
the sofa, reading the Daily Alta California and petting Amadeus, who lay sprawled across the
cushions beside him. They still had quite a bit to do before they set sail tomorrow, but he knew
there'd be no rushing Lucy. Rather than fret, he rosined his bow and examined the sparse parlor with
a critical eye.
Aside from the piano, only a few pieces of furniture, all scratched and dinged from their trip west,
adorned the room. No paintings or artwork of any kind hung from the walls, and only a threadbare
rug covered the floor. Certainly a far cry from the fancy drawing rooms to which Melissa would be
accustomed. Yet, he supposed her opinion didn't matter much as long as he could keep her from
changing her mind. Besides, if anything chased her off, he doubted it would be their décor or lack
thereof.
He loved his family, but they would never be as high class as the doña. He could only hope they
didn't say or do something deemed so uncouth as to make her second guess her decision. He knew
enough society ladies back home in Boston to know that most of them were easily put off by the
most trivial breach of manners.
Then again, Melissa seemed very desperate to get to home. Maybe enough to overlook a few slight
transgressions. As long as everyone minded their manners, avoided any discussion involving his
unconventional parents, and no one inadvertently mentioned Lucy's condition, he

The Female Characters In Lucy, By Jamaica Kincaid
Lucy Josephine Potter and Mariah, are two of the main female characters in Jamaica Kincaid's
novel, Lucy, which was published in 1990 (Sparknotes). Although the two women reside together in
the first part of the story, it is as if they possess two different consciousness'.
Lucy Potter, a Caribbean teenager nineteen–years–of age, has come to the United States as an au
pair. She is employed by Mariah to take care of her four daughters. Mariah is a middle–class
housewife who appears to have the "ideal" American family. Most likely the story takes place during
the late 1960's and 1970's. During this period of time, there was a large influx of immigrants who
arrived from the Caribbean, seeking employment and a more prosperous lifestyle. Much of story
deals with their relationship of these two women and their interactions. Mariah often makes an effort
to connect with Lucy, however their perspectives of life's events often contradict each other. Jamaica
Kincaid's (born as Elaine Potter Richardson) stories have been described as autobiographical or
memoir fiction. This is for the reason that, there often exists frequent similarities between her own
life experiences and those of the protagonists in her stories. The same is true of the novel, Lucy.
While reading Lucy, one wonders how many of the author's secrets are hidden within the narratives
and events that take place. Kincaid and Lucy are both from the small island of Antigua. Their
homeland is a post–colonial society

"Wait, you need to wave the wand that way not...!" I hollered. A little bit too late. My sister already

I'm not sure of. A flame pole shot from the ground shaking the entire school. With a wave of the
teacher's magical wand, everyone is teleported out into the grassy fields. The school claims that a

spells were broken with more powerful dark spells, more powerful than what I've ever seen in my

tsunamis, and other natural disasters all hit Earth at many different spots at the exact same time.
Many people were injured and some died which I knew would happen. We all split up and went

The Hurricane Starring Denzel Washington As Rubin,...
In this paper, I am going to compare and contrast the movie The Hurricane starring Denzel
Washington as Rubin "Hurricane" Carter to the handout provided for Nelson Mandela. I will begin
with a critical review of the movie. The setting of the movie rotates from past to present, as the
movie begin you will notice him in the ring with the middle weight champion and eventually defeat
him in the first round with a knock–out. Than the movie switch to him protesting in a jail cell, 193 at
Trenton State Prison, stating how he was wrongly accused for three murders and that anybody who
was trying to come get him will feel the wrath of the Hurricane. The movie than revert back to the
night where Rubin Carter and a young fella was wrongly accused of three murders in a well–known
bar and grill, while leaving a night club. The reason they was pulled over was because the cops said
they was looking for two black men in a white car. Mr. Carter than asked "any two black men would
count?" The movie fast forward to seven years later, approximately around 1980, where a young
struggling African–American high schooler purchase his book from a book sale and is intrigued with
the book because he can relate to the mishaps of Mr. Carter. The young man, Les Martin, was in
housed by three Canadians who vowed to help him succeed in life and go to college. In the
beginning of the book, Mr. Rubin Carter discusses his childhood and how it all started. Carter and a

Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House Books Essay
Comparing Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House Books and the Television Series Little House on the
Prairie
The themes of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books are repeated in the television series Little House on the
Prairie. Specific events in the television series aren't the same and don't happen in the same order as
in the books. Big events, such as when the family moves, happen in both and are at similar times.
The Ingalls family of Pa, Ma, Mary, Laura, and Carrie is the same in both. Themes of hard work,
honesty, obedience, and their way of life are repeated in both the Little House television series and
the Little House books.
Hard work is shown all throughout the television and book series. Pa always has some job to do. In

have to help clean and also help do little chores for Pa. They work hard but are happy because
everything is done for a reason. Both the television series and the books show the hard work that
they do.
The television show and the books show that the Ingalls family is very honest and the girls are
obedient. When the girls are fighting Ma says "Laura!" and that is enough warning for them to stop
fighting. Laura and Mary mind their Ma and Pa because they have been taught to. When they don't
they know that they will get a punishment. They have time to play but are expected to help out
where they can. Laura and Mary are well behaved and grew up in a loving family.
The way of life is repeated in both series. They work hard from dawn until sunset and do everything
for a reason. They hunt for fresh meat and use every part of the animal in some way that is useful for
them. The Ingalls family grows oat crops for their animals, for the family, and to sell and trade. "Pa

The Nameless Governess in The Turn of the Screw: Hero or...
Something is amiss in Bly. The nameless Governess has always been a person of interest in
literature. She has been analyzed time and time again from a trusting standpoint; taking everything
she says at face value. Taken with no thought of deception and that ghosts are real and the
Governess' is attempting to protect Miles, not harm him. Also from a psychological or Freudian
perspective indicating she was mentally disturbed and kills Miles. Whether the Governess was
simply a confused youth, thrust into a position beyond her ability and is further saddled with the
tasks of protecting her two charges with ghosts or a manipulative shrew who means nothing but
harm to those around her because her mental state is questionable. The Governess ... Show more

One critical response by Edmund Wilson regarded the Governess as hallucinatory. Suggesting that
the ghosts she saw were so detailed that they were of her own imagining. "The governess is viewed
as an unreliable narrator, either neurotic or actually insane; and the children are considered either
uncorrupted or corrupted by the treatment of the governess herself (Henry James, The Turn of the
Screw – Introduction)." He further goes on to suggest that, "...the governess is a neurotic spinster
whose repressed passion for her employer, the children's bachelor uncle, causes her to hallucinate."
Wilson took a very Freudian approach to his critical response of The Turn of the Screw, for when
Wilson was reviewing it psychology was all the rage in 1934.
Each writer of critical analysis for this story seems to oppose the others. Some people believe it to
be a battle of good and evil, while others suggest that it was the Governess who was corrupt, and yet
still others who believe that the Governess was truly saving the children.
One critical analysis of The Turn of the Screw comes to us from Robert Heilman who took the good
vs. evil view. Heilman suggest that the children are representative of good and the ghosts of evil.
The Governess' description of the children indicates their purity and goodness, referring to them
repeatedly as beautiful and even angelic or

Essay on The Wrongful Conviction of Rubin (Hurricane) Carter
The Wrongful Conviction of Rubin (Hurricane) Carter
There is no doubt in the minds of many people who are familiar with the Rubin "Hurricane" Carter
story that he, and the man who was convicted for murder with him, John Artis, are innocent of those
crimes. While no one knows for sure who is guilty of the crime, but the one thing that is for certain
is that Carter and Artis were victims of racial bias from many people who would see them in jail.
This story is truly a tragic one of a promising career, and of a life that was spoiled by prejudice and
one that reviles some of the ways in which, society's present legal system can fail to ensure the right
of justice for people in our society.
In a 1975 Penthouse Interview Carter stated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reason: a sworn statement by Alfred Bello, who was a suspect himself, stating that he had seen
the two men at the scene of the crime. A tape of Bello stating he was not sure that the suspected men
were the ones at the crime scene apparently existed and was in the custody of the prosecutors but
was illegally withheld from the jury. An all white 'death jury' (a jury in which, each person is
supportive of capital punishment and are generally more supportive of a conviction) sentenced
Carter and Artis to serve three consecutive life sentences for the murder of two men and a women in
the Lafayette Bar in New Jersey in 1966.
Besides the anticipated hardships that accompanied a long–term stay in prison, Carter had to bare
the force of other unfair actions. In April 1974 Carter was illegally transferred from the original
place of his detainment, Rahway State Prison, to the Vroom Readjustment Unit at the Trenton State
Psychiatric Hospital (http://www.stanford.edu/~zdillon/story.html). He remained there for three
months until Carter filed a federal suit against the state for inflicting cruel and unusual punishment
on him and was released from his illegal holding. Also, while incarcerated Carter was refused
outside medical attention and thus, received a botched operation which, left him blind in one eye

Aristotle's Six Elements Of Drama Essay
In the popular sitcom TV series Friends (1994– 2010), has displayed all of Aristotle's six important
elements throughout the show that were required for the drama. The main plot of the show is
revolving around six best friends living together in Manhattan, and following up with their everyday
personal and professional lives. Throughout the show, all six elements of drama are being taken
place in the modern series showing that regardless of small changes here and there, there are still
connections back to Aristotle's view.
Aristotle's first element is Plot which requires to have the whole, complete, and magnitude. In the
first episode of season 1: The One Where Monica Gets a Roommate, the storyline starts out with
Monica meeting her old high school best friend Rachel. And since Rachel was having some personal
life problems, she ends up moving in with Monica and stays as her best friend till the end of the
show. The whole of the show is Monica and Rachel's relationship from the beginning till the end has
stayed the same. Although eventually Rachel had to move out of Monica's apartment, their
friendship still continued on and is considered to be stronger compared to the beginning of their
meeting. The complete which is also known as the unity of action was displayed because when the
two girls were having problems, both were able to solve and help out each other. They were able to
put each other as their main priority and showing each other the attention they need. And the
magnitude is absolutely present because although it was quite abrupt with Rachel is moving in with
Monica, but as the story went on. Everything was relevant to all the other characters: Chandler, Joey,
Ross, and Phoebe. Which show the whole purpose of the show, friends are meant to stay together till
the end, even though they all had problems with one another at one certain point, but were still able
to move past and have a stronger, inseparable bond throughout the whole sitcom series.
The second element is Character and each of the characters have displayed moral goodness, true to
life, and had a consistent appearance throughout the show. The first character is Monica Geller, who
is known to be the mom of the group. She has always provided

Data Analysis Can light music, loud music, or no music help a student the most to get farther and
have better accuracy on a timed test? If light music is playing, then it will help a student focus more
on the test and be more accurate. The procedures for this experiment were; Have all five students
come in the room and take the first timed math test while listening to soft music (the song will be
"Fly" by Maddie and Tae, turn volume of music to 15 on speaker), for 45 seconds. Then have the
students stay in the room and take the second timed math test while listening to loud music (the song

the test was when they listened to a loud song ("The Final Countdown" by Joey Tempest) for 45
seconds. St.1 scored in accuracy for the first test is 86.7%, on the second test they scored 90.5%, and
on the third test they scored 91.7%. St. 2 in accuracy for the first test is 97.4%, on the second test
they scored 100%, and on the last test they scored 97.5%. St.3 scored in accuracy for the first test is

Laura Ingalls Wilder Research Paper
Have you ever wondered about how people lived in the late 1800s in America? Historians aren't the
only ones who can teach you about those times. Laura Ingalls Wilder lived in those days and
experienced all of the joys, pain and hardship of living the pioneer life. She decided to write about
her experiences later in life, and those writings became famous for providing a window into what
life was like then. This paper will detail the life of Laura Ingalls Wilder and her contributions to
literature and recording american history as the writer of the Little House book series.
Laura Ingalls Wilder had a very colorful childhood on the edge of civilization in the late 1800s.

agreeing to marry him ( 37). Her family had many hardships. A Little House Sampler says that her

Laura's life is when her house burned down in 1890 according to Laura Ingalls' official website. "In
1894 the Wilders bought a 200–acre farm in the Ozarks of Mansfield, Missouri" (website). Wilder's
official website elaborates saying that Laura, along with her husband Almanzo and daughter Rose,
moved to Rocky Ridge farm near Mansfield Missouri in 1894. "By the mid–1920s Wilder and her
husband were doing little of their own farming...,which allowed her to spend most of her time

Little House On The Prairie
Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House series has been praised as a classic and beloved story of manifest
destiny and one family's travels west. Though typically classified as children's fiction, Ingalls Wilder
presents the books as a memoir of her own childhood; the books are written in third person, but the
protagonist is a girl named Laura who has very specific memories of her young life traveling around
the Midwest. In Little House on the Prairie, young Laura and her family leave their cozy home in
the woods of Wisconsin to travel into Indian Territory near Independence, Kansas. Pa and Ma are
fiercely independent and determined to succeed in their new, completely wild surroundings. Though
Little House on the Prairie seems to honestly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When leaving Wisconsin, the Ingalls must say goodbye to all of their family that lives close by,
resigning themselves to writing yearly letters instead. In this situation, the nuclear family chooses to
assert its individualism by leaving both their family and the newly crowded woods. Libertarianism
largely glorifies the free will of the individual, thus the choice to break free and become independent
certainly espouses the ideology. The family continues its independent streak as Ma, Pa, Mary, Laura,
and Baby Carrie construct their new house and lives on the Kansas prairie. They travel with only
their most important belongings but, for the most part, must build an entirely new house and
furnishings. This task, of course, is presented as incredibly easy. When the family finally arrives at
an acceptable plot of land, the land is completely empty; however, Pa hauls logs from the creek
bottoms and "all by himself, he built the house three logs high" (58). The family must also make all
new furniture (luckily, Pa is a skilled carpenter), put in a puncheon floor, install a working fireplace
and chimney, hunt for their own food, and trade furs in Independence to buy a plow for the next
farming season. The family's success can certainly be attributed to luck or Pa and Ma's skills, but
may also be an outcome of their fierce independence and determination to be on their own. The
most striking example of independence comes when Pa decides to put a real roof on their home,

The Real Nightmare
It's here! The night we have all been waiting. It was going to be game 1 of the World Series. I was
with my friends Joey and Jesse. Joey bought the pizza, Jesse got the drinks, and I got the candy. Just
as soon as we were going to turn on the tv, the power went out. We started to wonder why because
there wasn't lightning, wind, nor hot weather. Then Jesse saw something. He told me he saw
something blue and red. There wasn't anything outside. Jesse swears he saw something. We
waited, waited and waited for an hour and still no power. Then out of nowhere the picture frame
dropped. Once that happened, we got scared and things got crazy. The lawnmower turned on and the
toilet flushed. That's when we believed Jesse that me and Joey saw the thing move around. Joey said
it looked exactly like a person moving around but it was moving around to fast.
So then that's when Joey got an idea he said to go see the world series. That's when I said "lucky for
us the world series is here in San Francisco." So we went to our secret place to get our money but
the money was gone. Jesse asked me if I grabbed it and I didn't then I asked Joey if he grabbed it
and he didn't then Joey asked Jesse if he grabbed it and he didn't no one took it. So then we got an
answer. I told Jesse and Joey "hey guys my uncle Danny lives a mile away maybe we could call him
and ask if we could go over there and watch the game with him."That's when I grabbed the phone
and tried to call him but the phones didn't work either. So then Jesse told me "why don't we just
drive to his house and we surprise him." That was a good idea said Joey. So we grabbed the car keys
and we turned on the car and we couldn't believe it the car didn't work either. So we went back
inside and we tried to turn on the TV but this creepy message on the TV showed up it said "YOU
PEOPLE WILL PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID." That's when we saw the thing moving around again.
Now we could see the thing more by more. Now we could see that it was some kind of person. From
minute to minute the sky started to change. It started to get greenish and reddish. But then that's
when a big black hole started to form in the sky.

Analysis Of The Movie ' The Night '
The third scene in this episode is in the hotel's restaurant area, where all of the characters gather to
have breakfast together. The lighting in this particular scene only focuses on the are where the main
characters will be at. For instance, the table they are going to sit at, and the buffet area, where Joey
and Chandler take some food for their breakfast. While Joey and Chandler walk to the buffet area,
the camera follow both of them, in other word, a dolly shot. Although the shot was fairly shaky, it

just like in a real life situation.
In the next scene, Chandler and Monica then decided to go to the casino, letting the dice decide
whether they will get married or not. While they are walking through the casino, the sound only
focuses on the characters, ambience sound is rarely heard, where in the background, we can see
people talking to one another, a waiter bringing drinks to the customers, and people playing the
machine. At one point, we can hear cash noises from the machine, but even that, the sound is very
small that the audience might not have catch it. When Monica throw the dice to the table, we could
hear the dice rolling on the table clearly, and the worker talking clearly. During this scene, the
director want the audience to focus on the characters movement, not the ambience. The lighting in
this scene is again flat, and they lit the light brighter to the area where the characters are going to be.
Comparing it with the real casino, this casino is the brightest casino we have ever seen. Later, when
they decided to go back to their room, Chandler and Monica was holding hand, still disagreeing that
they should get married. Suddenly,

Melissa was new to the screening because Owen has not had a developmental screening before. I

orientations are commonly recognised – heterosexual, homosexual (gay and lesbian) and bisexual.
Homophobia
Homophobia refers to fear of or prejudice and discrimination against lesbian, gay and bisexual
people. It is also the dislike of same–sex attraction and love or the hatred of people who have those
feelings. The term was first used in the 1970s and is more associated with ignorance, prejudice and
stereotyping than with the physiological reactions usually attributed to a 'phobia'. While
homophobic comments or attitudes are often unintentional, they can cause hurt and offence to
lesbian, gay and bisexual people.
Transphobia
Transphobia refers to fear of or prejudice and discrimination against people who are transgender or
who are perceived to transgress norms of gender, gender identity or gender expression. While
transphobic comments or attitudes are often unintentional, they can cause hurt and offence to
transgender people.

The Hurricane
Bob Dylan's song, The Hurricane, brings to surface several of the themes covered in class this
semester. The song explores general themes like community and responsibility, while also focusing
on many of the sub–themes, such as justice and injustice, appearance and reality, and loyalty and
abandonment. Throughout the song, the main characters constantly battle with the above themes in
attempt to frame an innocent man. While the song brings up many of these themes, Dylan's
characters show little consistency with the texts covered, as the texts tend to try to find
reconciliation in the characters, while Dylan's characters feel no remorse in their actions.

While on one hand, creating another monster would hold responsibility to his unnatural creation, he
has a responsibility to the community to prevent these monsters from breeding and wreaking further
havoc upon the community. Fortunately, in the novel, Victor upholds his responsibility to the
community, and denies the monster's demand for a partner, although he knows that this action may
lead to problems in his own life.
The song continues to venture into the theme of justice and injustice. Although all the evidence
supports the Hurricane's innocence, the community as a whole acts to ensure that injustice is served.
"Meanwhile in another part of town/ Rubin Carter and a couple of friend are drivin' around/...When
a cop pulled him over to the side of the road/ Just like the time before and the time before that./ In
Paterson, that's just the way things go./ If you're black you might as well not show up on the street,/
'less you wanna draw the heat."
This line shows injustice, as well as the difference between appearance and reality. Although
America appears to be a free country, the reality is that in these times, one may have been pulled
over simply because of his race. The injustice here lies in the cops bringing Rubin in at four o'clock
in the morning, and taking him up to the one bartender still living. "The wounded man

8. [LO 1] Can a partnership have unrealized receivables if it has no accounts receivable? Answer:
The definition of unrealized receivables is broad enough to encompass assets other than accounts
receivable. §751(a) also includes assets that are NOT capital assets or §1231 assets that would
produce ordinary income if sold by the partnership. Items such as depreciation recapture are also
classified as unrealized receivables. Thus, a partnership can have unrealized receivables without
having accounts receivable. 9. [LO 1] How do hot assets affect the character of gain or loss on the
sale of a partnership interest? Answer: Hot assets cause a portion of the gain or loss on the sale of a
partnership interest to be classified as ordinary rather than capital. 10. [LO 1] Under what
circumstances can a partner recognize both gain and loss on the sale of a partnership interest?
Answer: A partner may recognize both gain and loss on the sale of a partnership interest in the
situation where a partner's share of the unrealized gain in hot assets is greater than his total gain or
loss on the sale of his partnership interest. 11. [LO 1] Absent any special elections, what effect does
a sale of partnership interest have on the partnership? Answer: When one partner sells his

Summary Of ' My Name Is Joey Tribbiani And I '
My name is Joey Tribbiani and I live in an apartment with my friend Chandler Geller. I am a very
talented actor. My friends live right next to us. We visit them daily and meet up at the coffee house
next to us in Manhattan,New York City my home. And the big thing about me is that I have a
superpower. My superpower is Telekinesis and nobody will ever know. I found out I had this ability
when I was 10 years old. I was lying in my home just outside of Queens and everything just started
to fly everywhere when I was frustrated because I was not allowed to go to my friends birthday
party because it was snowing and my mom thought I would catch a cold. I have learned to control
superpower and I use it alot when nobody is around including my best friends Chandler Geller,
Rachel Smith, Monica Green and Ross Bing. But my life has changed now.
When Chandler said he would go shopping for some food in our apartment he never came back.
There Is now a criminal in my life. He kidnapped my Chandler and left a note at our apartment. It
said if I wanted to see Chandler again meet on in Central Park at 12:00 AM! He also said if I notify
the police he will murder Chandler. If you bring any one with me he will still kill Chandler. I raced
across the hall to tell Monica and rachel. Right after after I told them they cried a little but I had no
time to comfort them because I had to save Chandler. I have to go save him at Central park. But why
would Chazz even know me? What does he want with me?

Similarities Between Friends And Friends
Friends is a show that took place from 1994 through 2004 about Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica,
Joey, and Phoebe navigating their lives together by having friendships and romances while spending
much of their time at Central Perk and Monica's apartment. How I Met Your Mother aired from
2005 through 2014 and tells the story of how Ted came to meet his wife with his friend group:
Marshall, Lily, Barney, Robin, and Tracy. The mother of his children, Tracy, is not a character on the
show until the last season as it is the story of how he grew to be the man his children's mother knew.
Friends and How I Met Your Mother are both great sitcoms with undeniable similarities with the
characters and location, but the better show is Friends due its final season.
Friends and How I Met Your Mother have a multitude of similarities that make the shows eerily
similar. The characters seem to be alike with the same traits are Ted and Ross, Marshall and
Chandler, Robin and Rachel, Joey and Barney, Lily and Monica, and Tracy and Phoebe. Ted and
Ross both have intellectual jobs, Ted is an architect and Ross is a paleontologist. At different points
during their career they work as professors for major New York universities. Their respective friend
groups consider them the "nerd" and find that a lot of what is said by them is correcting other
people.
An additional similarity is that both are in love and have unreliable relationships with the charming,
career based woman of their

A child should never die. But when it happens, it's the worst feeling in the world. Just sitting and

So I quickly went and checked. The post said " We had a bad accident happen today. Joey was on his
way to go get his Ipod from his friends house, and was hit by a truck on the way there. By how it
looks now, he isn't doing good. The doctors think he is brain dead. They said the truck ran him over
and he flew 30 feet from where he was hit. We will keep everyone updated on what happens." By
the time I was to the end I was about to cry. I don't know how I managed to do this, but I pushed
through it and still went to the fair. On the way there Joey is all I could think about. I had so many
questions running through my mind. I thought it would be good to go to the fair and not think about
what happened. But that was almost impossible.
Once I got to the fair I went around to find my one friend. Once I found her I didn't say anything
about what happened. Every couple minutes I kept going on my phone and checking for updates, but
I never saw anything. After a while of going on rides my friend had to go. So I found my other two
friends (Natalie and Keverlyn). Since they didn't like going on rides, we played games most of the
time. We decided to go watch the pig auction at around 5:30. We watched it until around 6:00
o'clock pm. At that time I was still checking my phone for anything new. All I saw was more and
more comments each time. I also saw a Go Fund Me account was made for Joey. By 8:00 o'clock

Persuasive Essay On Risk Taking
My theme report looks at the issues of taking risks in order to overcome stereotypes, poor decisions
from the past, and the make progress in life. I learned from the theme study that if you take risks –
and if you have the right personal qualities – you can change your world personally, and influence
others positively. The four films I watched for this report were Les Intouchables,Life of a King,12
years a slave and they all showed me the consequences of risk taking which were either loss or great
rewards in life.some of the results of risk taking I have discovered from these movies are it can
change your personality, leads to wealth and money, second chances in life and mostly you take
possession of something you once lost.
A significant connection across the texts is the positive consequences in life that come from taking
risks. The first similarity I see is that risk taking leads to happiness and earning a new life. We see
this in both 12 years a slave and The Hurricane. We see this positive consequence from risk–taking
in life of a king where Eugene earns back love from his children and got his family back. This
positive outcome is similar to 12 years a slave when Solomon is returned (right at the end) to his
family. From the dialogue between Eugene and Katrina – daughter – we can see how desperate and
self–accusatory Eugene is feeling about his son Marco being in prison when Katrina says "I wanted
to come tell you in person. Marco's locked up. He's been in juvenile

A Brief Biography Of Laura Ingalls Wilder
Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote many books that we are familiar with today; in particular, the Little
House series. Even before Laura Ingalls Wilder had the fame of the books, which were not
published until later in her life, she would write short nonfiction pieces for newspapers and
magazines (Hines). Laura Ingalls Wilder started first as a teacher, fell in love with and married
Almanzo Wilder which caused her to quit teaching, and subsequently had two children – a daughter
named Rose and a son who died soon after his birth. Although Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote many
books which are what gained her lasting success; she also wrote essays about her outlook on life as
well as politics during WWI. Rose, her daughter, grew up and like her mother eventually began to
write for a newspaper. She encouraged her mother to write about her childhood. The original story
Ms. Wilder wrote was very different than the one we are familiar with today. Originally called,
Pioneer Girl, it was a first person account covering her life from about the time she was three until
the age of eighteen, and began with the words "Once upon a time..." (Mumford). The publishers
kept on rejecting it, but Laura never gave up (Hines). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that is exactly what her writings have done, they have captured the essence of the pioneer way of life
that those of us today can only imagine about. Her characters have remain well loved and enjoyed
for many generations, and will likely be so for the foreseeable future. Even though she faced many

The One with the Three Parts of Freuds Psyche
The One with the Three Parts of Freud's Psyche
According to Sigmund Freud, every human has three parts of their personalities. One part is the id:
the part of a person that is pleasure driven. It is the part of the personality structure that runs on
instinctual desires. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there is superego. Superego is the section of
one's personality that is only concerned with others' opinions and must have perfect behavior in
order to please others. Finally there is ego, the reality of one's personality. It is what one actually
does to try to please both extremes of their personality. Though everyone has parts of each within
them, some people have one part of their personality outshine the others. In the tv series "Friends",
directed by Robby Benson, the three parts of the psyche are demonstrated through the three main
characters Chandler, Ross and Joey. Joey Tribbiani represents the id, he lives by the pleasure
principle and is concerned primarily with immediate gratification. Ross clearly corresponds with the
ego and operates on the reality principle. While he certainly likes the same pleasurable things as
Joey, he derives his satisfaction through more realistic long term means. Lastly, Chandler completes
the set representing the superego. He internalizes cultural norms and expectations which realizes the
feeling of guilt or shame. In the episode, "The one with all the Jealousy", it shows Joey, Chandler,
and Ross's freudian characteristics very

##ymbolism, And Language In The Little House By Laura...
Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote many books, and even received five Newberry Honor Medals for them.
She was born on February 7th 1876 and lived until age ninety. Wilder was the author of The Little
House series the second book in the series is about her husband's experiences growing up on a farm
in New York. The third book is about the time Wilder spent on the American Prairie. In these books,
Wilder uses imagery, symbolism, and language from when she was growing up. One of the most
common elements is Wilder's writing is imagery. She uses beautiful compilations of words to paint a
picture in the minds of readers. An example of this is, "In a perfect circle the sky curved down to the
level land and the wagon was in the circle's exact middle," (13). This is a description of how it
looked when Wilder was traveling on the American Prairie. This quote could make you feel two
different things, freedom and loneliness. At this point in time, Wilder and her family were probably
feeling a mix of both. Later in the book, Wilder provides another example, Everything was striped
there. Stripes of sunshine came through the cracks in the west wall, and stripes of shadow came
down from the poles overhead. The stripes of shade and sunshine were all across Laura's bare feet.
And through the cracks between the logs she could see stripes of prairie. The sweet smell of the
prairie mixed with the sweet smell of cut wood. This particular piece of imagery describes how it
looked when Pa first finished

Essay on Narrative Style of Little House on The Prairie
Narrative Style of Little House on The Prairie
When you first start reading Little House on the Prairie you notice it is told through the eyes of a
little girl named Laura. Her point of view is very realistic and captivating. She pays very close
attention to the details of the day to day living and the events that are happening around her. She
also notices how the prairie looks and what the weather is like each day. With her descriptions you
can picture everything in your mind clearly, and you feel like you are right there next to Laura living
her life.

First, he unhitched and unharnessed Pet and Patty, and he put them on their picket–line. While Pet
and Patty were rolling, Pa pulled all the grass from a large, round space of ground. When the space
was clear of grass, Pa laid a handful of dry grass in its center. From the creek bottoms he brought an
armful of twigs and dead wood. He laid small twigs and larger twigs and then the wood on the
handful of dry grass, and he lighted the grass. Then Pa brought water from the creek, while Mary
and Laura helped Ma get supper" (28, 29).
Another part of the story that Laura describes very deeply was when Pa built the log cabin, chimney,
and the well digging. You knew every step and how he did it and what he used to make everything.
If a person wanted to, they could probably build a log cabin or dig a well by her descriptions.
Laura enjoys describing the way the prairie looks each day because she loves it so much. She pays
close attention to the details of the flowers and grasses and how the wind is blowing. The animals on
the prairie are described often also since the prairie was full of wildlife back then. You often found
her describing the weather too. She found the weather on the prairie very interesting and quite
different than the weather in Wisconsin. "Day after day was hotter then the day before. The wind

Analysis Of The Movie ' The Not Dead 2 '
Pure Flix is at it again with their latest installment into the Christian movie scene, God's Not Dead 2.
It is the sequel to the 2014 faith–based box–office hit God 's Not Dead. This American Christian
drama focuses on religious speech in a public classroom as high school history teacher Grace
Wesley (Melissa Joan Hart) gets caught up in a high–profile legal case over answering a student's
question about Jesus. Not only is Wesley's career on the line, but the existence of Jesus Christ is put
on trial. In short, the film is about standing up for your faith in a world where being a Christian is
becoming more frowned upon.
I. MOVIE BACKGROUND
God's Not Dead 2 was produced by Pure Flix Entertainment along with 10 West Studios. It was
directed by Harold Cronk, who is a co–founder of 10 West studios. He is known to have directed
Jerusalem Countdown and the original God's Not Dead. The film, working on a $5,000,000 budget,
grossed $7,623,662 opening weekend and $20,773,070 overall which is not nearly as good as its
predecessor, which, working on a $2,000,000 budget, grossed $9,244,641 opening weekend and
$60,753,735 in the USA alone (IMDb). The distribution and production company, Pure Flix
Entertainment, specializes in Christian themed movies. Their vision and calling is to "serve
alongside the church by providing affordable and effective Movie Ministry solutions to use for
Outreach, Church Growth, Fellowship Opportunities, Small Group Ministry and Sermon Messages"

Blue Scorpion Research Paper
Hi my name is the "Blue Scorpion" I live in Manhattan New York. I'm just started to feel a little
different after my father's death. A myth in my family is going around that I'm experiencing a new
life like my father took over my body. Misshel she's a paranormal activities investigator. She told me
that I'm about to get superpowers because my father was a superhero and had superpowers and it
was I'm my DNA. She also told the government about me, and since they didn't have powerful
weapons, to fight in ww2. One morning someone took a video of me using my super powers to save
a woman from a burning building. 2 days later Commander Ramos and five of his men arrived In
my house to ask me to go with them to a secure base, Since I ... Show more content on

moment I realized they captured my family yo make me fight for them. One day Commander
Ramos sent me on a mission to eliminate all living thing, I refuse and they told me " you're not
seeing your family even again. I stole a blueprint of the base with the help misshel and some of the
powers I was given. We went to the base fighting every soldier in our way. We finally got to to a
secret room there was my mom, and every other family member that was missing I rescued them
and took them so a secret location or if you want to call it a safe house. Now my family was safe, all
I had to worry is the military doesn't find my family. One day I heard that the U.S was planning a

Their aging just reminds you that you're not getting any younger. Check out these seven aging TV stars who will make you feel as old AF. 1. Matt LeBlanc Matt LeBlanc became a TV star after playing Joey on the hit show Friends. He's now 50 years old; can you believe that? • 3. Review Of ' The Piano ' Essay Sebastian leaned against the piano and tested the strings of his violin while his cousin, Billy, sat on the sofa, reading the Daily Alta California and petting Amadeus, who lay sprawled across the cushions beside him. They still had quite a bit to do before they set sail tomorrow, but he knew there'd be no rushing Lucy. Rather than fret, he rosined his bow and examined the sparse parlor with a critical eye. Aside from the piano, only a few pieces of furniture, all scratched and dinged from their trip west, adorned the room. No paintings or artwork of any kind hung from the walls, and only a threadbare rug covered the floor. Certainly a far cry from the fancy drawing rooms to which Melissa would be accustomed. Yet, he supposed her opinion didn't matter much as long as he could keep her from changing her mind. Besides, if anything chased her off, he doubted it would be their décor or lack thereof. He loved his family, but they would never be as high class as the doña. He could only hope they didn't say or do something deemed so uncouth as to make her second guess her decision. He knew enough society ladies back home in Boston to know that most of them were easily put off by the most trivial breach of manners. Then again, Melissa seemed very desperate to get to home. Maybe enough to overlook a few slight transgressions. As long as everyone minded their manners, avoided any discussion involving his unconventional parents, and no one inadvertently mentioned Lucy's condition, he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Female Characters In Lucy, By Jamaica Kincaid Lucy Josephine Potter and Mariah, are two of the main female characters in Jamaica Kincaid's novel, Lucy, which was published in 1990 (Sparknotes). Although the two women reside together in the first part of the story, it is as if they possess two different consciousness'. Lucy Potter, a Caribbean teenager nineteen–years–of age, has come to the United States as an au pair. She is employed by Mariah to take care of her four daughters. Mariah is a middle–class housewife who appears to have the "ideal" American family. Most likely the story takes place during the late 1960's and 1970's. During this period of time, there was a large influx of immigrants who arrived from the Caribbean, seeking employment and a more prosperous lifestyle. Much of story deals with their relationship of these two women and their interactions. Mariah often makes an effort to connect with Lucy, however their perspectives of life's events often contradict each other. Jamaica Kincaid's (born as Elaine Potter Richardson) stories have been described as autobiographical or memoir fiction. This is for the reason that, there often exists frequent similarities between her own life experiences and those of the protagonists in her stories. The same is true of the novel, Lucy. While reading Lucy, one wonders how many of the author's secrets are hidden within the narratives and events that take place. Kincaid and Lucy are both from the small island of Antigua. Their homeland is a post–colonial society ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She has terrible control over her gleaming new staff that our parents bought for school. She just combined the power of two fire spells and the magic of some kind that I'm not sure of. A flame pole shot from the ground shaking the entire school. With a wave of the teacher's magical wand, everyone is teleported out into the grassy fields. The school claims that a bottle of potion was made with unknown properties because it was never seen before by any teacher or heard by anyone, which is very rare for a kid to accidently create. The fire faded as quickly as it struck because the building is fireproof. My sister ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 9. The Hurricane Starring Denzel Washington As Rubin,... In this paper, I am going to compare and contrast the movie The Hurricane starring Denzel Washington as Rubin "Hurricane" Carter to the handout provided for Nelson Mandela. I will begin with a critical review of the movie. The setting of the movie rotates from past to present, as the movie begin you will notice him in the ring with the middle weight champion and eventually defeat him in the first round with a knock–out. Than the movie switch to him protesting in a jail cell, 193 at Trenton State Prison, stating how he was wrongly accused for three murders and that anybody who was trying to come get him will feel the wrath of the Hurricane. The movie than revert back to the night where Rubin Carter and a young fella was wrongly accused of three murders in a well–known bar and grill, while leaving a night club. The reason they was pulled over was because the cops said they was looking for two black men in a white car. Mr. Carter than asked "any two black men would count?" The movie fast forward to seven years later, approximately around 1980, where a young struggling African–American high schooler purchase his book from a book sale and is intrigued with the book because he can relate to the mishaps of Mr. Carter. The young man, Les Martin, was in housed by three Canadians who vowed to help him succeed in life and go to college. In the beginning of the book, Mr. Rubin Carter discusses his childhood and how it all started. Carter and a group of friends was playing when a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House Books Essay Comparing Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House Books and the Television Series Little House on the Prairie The themes of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books are repeated in the television series Little House on the Prairie. Specific events in the television series aren't the same and don't happen in the same order as in the books. Big events, such as when the family moves, happen in both and are at similar times. The Ingalls family of Pa, Ma, Mary, Laura, and Carrie is the same in both. Themes of hard work, honesty, obedience, and their way of life are repeated in both the Little House television series and the Little House books. Hard work is shown all throughout the television and book series. Pa always has some job to do. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "Each day had its own proper work. "Laura and Mary helped Ma with the work" (27). They have to help clean and also help do little chores for Pa. They work hard but are happy because everything is done for a reason. Both the television series and the books show the hard work that they do. The television show and the books show that the Ingalls family is very honest and the girls are obedient. When the girls are fighting Ma says "Laura!" and that is enough warning for them to stop fighting. Laura and Mary mind their Ma and Pa because they have been taught to. When they don't they know that they will get a punishment. They have time to play but are expected to help out where they can. Laura and Mary are well behaved and grew up in a loving family. The way of life is repeated in both series. They work hard from dawn until sunset and do everything for a reason. They hunt for fresh meat and use every part of the animal in some way that is useful for them. The Ingalls family grows oat crops for their animals, for the family, and to sell and trade. She has been analyzed time and time again from a trusting standpoint; taking everything she says at face value. He further goes on to suggest that, "...the governess is a neurotic spinster whose repressed passion for her employer, the children's bachelor uncle, causes her to hallucinate." Each writer of critical analysis for this story seems to oppose the others. Some people believe it to be a battle of good and evil, while others suggest that it was the Governess who was corrupt, and yet still others who believe that the Governess was truly saving the children. Essay on The Wrongful Conviction of Rubin (Hurricane) Carter The Wrongful Conviction of Rubin (Hurricane) Carter There is no doubt in the minds of many people who are familiar with the Rubin "Hurricane" Carter story that he, and the man who was convicted for murder with him, John Artis, are innocent of those crimes. While no one knows for sure who is guilty of the crime, but the one thing that is for certain is that Carter and Artis were victims of racial bias from many people who would see them in jail. This story is truly a tragic one of a promising career, and of a life that was spoiled by prejudice and one that reviles some of the ways in which, society's present legal system can fail to ensure the right of justice for people in our society. An all white 'death jury' (a jury in which, each person is supportive of capital punishment and are generally more supportive of a conviction) sentenced Carter and Artis to serve three consecutive life sentences for the murder of two men and a women in the Lafayette Bar in New Jersey in 1966. Besides the anticipated hardships that accompanied a long–term stay in prison, Carter had to bare the force of other unfair actions. • 23. Little House On The Prairie Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House series has been praised as a classic and beloved story of manifest destiny and one family's travels west. Though typically classified as children's fiction, Ingalls Wilder presents the books as a memoir of her own childhood; the books are written in third person, but the protagonist is a girl named Laura who has very specific memories of her young life traveling around the Midwest. In Little House on the Prairie, young Laura and her family leave their cozy home in the woods of Wisconsin to travel into Indian Territory near Independence, Kansas. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When leaving Wisconsin, the Ingalls must say goodbye to all of their family that lives close by, resigning themselves to writing yearly letters instead. In this situation, the nuclear family chooses to assert its individualism by leaving both their family and the newly crowded woods. Libertarianism largely glorifies the free will of the individual, thus the choice to break free and become independent certainly espouses the ideology. The family continues its independent streak as Ma, Pa, Mary, Laura, and Baby Carrie construct their new house and lives on the Kansas prairie. They travel with only their most important belongings but, for the most part, must build an entirely new house and furnishings. This task, of course, is presented as incredibly easy. When the family finally arrives at an acceptable plot of land, the land is completely empty; however, Pa hauls logs from the creek bottoms and "all by himself, he built the house three logs high" (58). The family must also make all new furniture (luckily, Pa is a skilled carpenter), put in a puncheon floor, install a working fireplace and chimney, hunt for their own food, and trade furs in Independence to buy a plow for the next farming season. The family's success can certainly be attributed to luck or Pa and Ma's skills, but may also be an outcome of their fierce independence and determination to be on their own. I was with my friends Joey and Jesse. Joey bought the pizza, Jesse got the drinks, and I got the candy. Just as soon as we were going to turn on the tv, the power went out. We started to wonder why because there wasn't lightning, wind, nor hot weather. Then Jesse saw something. He told me he saw something blue and red. There wasn't anything outside. Jesse swears he saw something. We waited, waited and waited for an hour and still no power. Then out of nowhere the picture frame dropped. Once that happened, we got scared and things got crazy. The lawnmower turned on and the toilet flushed. That's when we believed Jesse that me and Joey saw the thing move around. Joey said it looked exactly like a person moving around but it was moving around to fast. So then that's when Joey got an idea he said to go see the world series. That's when I said "lucky for us the world series is here in San Francisco." So we went to our secret place to get our money but the money was gone. Jesse asked me if I grabbed it and I didn't then I asked Joey if he grabbed it and he didn't then Joey asked Jesse if he grabbed it and he didn't no one took it. So then we got an answer. I told Jesse and Joey "hey guys my uncle Danny lives a mile away maybe we could call him and ask if we could go over there and watch the game with him."That's when I grabbed the phone and tried to call him but the phones didn't work either. So then Jesse told me "why don't we just drive to his house and we surprise him." That was a good idea said Joey. So we grabbed the car keys and we turned on the car and we couldn't believe it the car didn't work either. So we went back inside and we tried to turn on the TV but this creepy message on the TV showed up it said "YOU PEOPLE WILL PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID." That's when we saw the thing moving around again. Now we could see the thing more by more. Now we could see that it was some kind of person. From minute to minute the sky started to change. It started to get greenish and reddish. Similarities Between Friends And Friends Friends is a show that took place from 1994 through 2004 about Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey, and Phoebe navigating their lives together by having friendships and romances while spending much of their time at Central Perk and Monica's apartment. How I Met Your Mother aired from 2005 through 2014 and tells the story of how Ted came to meet his wife with his friend group: Marshall, Lily, Barney, Robin, and Tracy. The mother of his children, Tracy, is not a character on the show until the last season as it is the story of how he grew to be the man his children's mother knew. Friends and How I Met Your Mother are both great sitcoms with undeniable similarities with the characters and location, but the better show is Friends due its final season. Friends and How I Met Your Mother have a multitude of similarities that make the shows eerily similar. The characters seem to be alike with the same traits are Ted and Ross, Marshall and Chandler, Robin and Rachel, Joey and Barney, Lily and Monica, and Tracy and Phoebe. By the time I was to the end I was about to cry. I don't know how I managed to do this, but I pushed through it and still went to the fair. On the way there Joey is all I could think about. Every couple minutes I kept going on my phone and checking for updates, but I never saw anything. After a while of going on rides my friend had to go. So I found my other two friends (Natalie and Keverlyn). Since they didn't like going on rides, we played games most of the time. We decided to go watch the pig auction at around 5:30. • 51. Persuasive Essay On Risk Taking My theme report looks at the issues of taking risks in order to overcome stereotypes, poor decisions from the past, and the make progress in life. I learned from the theme study that if you take risks – and if you have the right personal qualities – you can change your world personally, and influence others positively. The four films I watched for this report were Les Intouchables,Life of a King,12 years a slave and they all showed me the consequences of risk taking which were either loss or great rewards in life.some of the results of risk taking I have discovered from these movies are it can change your personality, leads to wealth and money, second chances in life and mostly you take possession of something you once lost. A significant connection across the texts is the positive consequences in life that come from taking risks. The first similarity I see is that risk taking leads to happiness and earning a new life. We see this in both 12 years a slave and The Hurricane. We see this positive consequence from risk–taking in life of a king where Eugene earns back love from his children and got his family back. This positive outcome is similar to 12 years a slave when Solomon is returned (right at the end) to his family. From the dialogue between Eugene and Katrina – daughter – we can see how desperate and self–accusatory Eugene is feeling about his son Marco being in prison when Katrina says "I wanted to come tell you in person. Marco's locked up. He's been in juvenile ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even before Laura Ingalls Wilder had the fame of the books, which were not published until later in her life, she would write short nonfiction pieces for newspapers and magazines (Hines). Laura Ingalls Wilder started first as a teacher, fell in love with and married Almanzo Wilder which caused her to quit teaching, and subsequently had two children – a daughter named Rose and a son who died soon after his birth. Although Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote many books which are what gained her lasting success; she also wrote essays about her outlook on life as well as politics during WWI. Rose, her daughter, grew up and like her mother eventually began to write for a newspaper. She encouraged her mother to write about her childhood. The original story Ms. Wilder wrote was very different than the one we are familiar with today. • 66. The One with the Three Parts of Freuds Psyche The One with the Three Parts of Freud's Psyche According to Sigmund Freud, every human has three parts of their personalities. One part is the id: the part of a person that is pleasure driven. It is the part of the personality structure that runs on instinctual desires. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there is superego. Superego is the section of one's personality that is only concerned with others' opinions and must have perfect behavior in order to please others. Finally there is ego, the reality of one's personality. It is what one actually does to try to please both extremes of their personality. Though everyone has parts of each within them, some people have one part of their personality outshine the others. In the tv series "Friends", directed by Robby Benson, the three parts of the psyche are demonstrated through the three main characters Chandler, Ross and Joey. Joey Tribbiani represents the id, he lives by the pleasure principle and is concerned primarily with immediate gratification. Ross clearly corresponds with the ego and operates on the reality principle. While he certainly likes the same pleasurable things as Joey, he derives his satisfaction through more realistic long term means. Lastly, Chandler completes the set representing the superego. He internalizes cultural norms and expectations which realizes the feeling of guilt or shame. In the episode, "The one with all the Jealousy", it shows Joey, Chandler, and Ross's freudian characteristics very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Wilder was the author of The Little House series the second book in the series is about her husband's experiences growing up on a farm in New York. The third book is about the time Wilder spent on the American Prairie. In these books, Wilder uses imagery, symbolism, and language from when she was growing up. One of the most common elements is Wilder's writing is imagery. She uses beautiful compilations of words to paint a picture in the minds of readers. An example of this is, "In a perfect circle the sky curved down to the level land and the wagon was in the circle's exact middle," (13). This is a description of how it looked when Wilder was traveling on the American Prairie. This quote could make you feel two different things, freedom and loneliness. At this point in time, Wilder and her family were probably feeling a mix of both. Later in the book, Wilder provides another example, Everything was striped there. Stripes of sunshine came through the cracks in the west wall, and stripes of shadow came down from the poles overhead. The stripes of shade and sunshine were all across Laura's bare feet. And through the cracks between the logs she could see stripes of prairie. The sweet smell of the prairie mixed with the sweet smell of cut wood. Another part of the story that Laura describes very deeply was when Pa built the log cabin, chimney, and the well digging. You knew every step and how he did it and what he used to make everything. If a person wanted to, they could probably build a log cabin or dig a well by her descriptions. Laura enjoys describing the way the prairie looks each day because she loves it so much.
