Elliptic Curve Cryptology Used to Make Keys
Elliptic Curve Cryptology
What and Why of ECC?
Elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) is a public key cryptography technique by making use of elliptic
curve properties and their algebraic structure of over finite fields. It is one of the efficient ways of
providing encryption of cryptographic keys.
Elliptic curves as algebraic/geometric entities have been studied extensively for the past 150 years,
and from these studies has emerged a rich and deep theory. Elliptic curve systems as applied to
cryptography were first proposed in 1985 independently by Neal Koblitz from the University of
Washington, and Victor Miller, who was then at IBM, Yorktown Heights.[1]
These curves have allowed establishment of a new generation of asymmetric ... Show more content on

We take another point Q on the curve. We compute R = P + Q. It is a graphical operation consisting of
tracing a line through P and Q. This line defines a unique intersection with the EC: the point R. R is
found by taking the symmetric point with respect to the x axis (see figure 2).
Figure 2 Example of addition
Formally:
P = (x1,y1)
Q = (x2,y2)
R = P + Q = (x3,y3)
Where,
x3 = ө 2 x1 x2 y3 = ө (x1 + x3) y1 with ө = (y2 y1)/(x2 x1).
If P = Q, R = P + Q is equivalent to adding a point to itself: doubling point P.
Doubling
The operation needs a single point and consists of finding a point 2P. We draw a tangent line to the EC
at point P. This line intersects the curve in a point R. Reflecting this point across the x axis gives R: R
= 2P. See figure 3.
Formally: the only difference with an addition is the definition of ө. ө = (3x1 + a)/2y1
Figure 3 Example of doubling a point P
Calculations over the real numbers are slow and inaccurate due to round off error. Cryptographic
applications require fast and precise arithmetic; thus elliptic curve groups over the finite fields of Fp
and Fm2 are used in practice.[1]
The key generation and verification of elliptic curve analogue (ECDSA) of the U.S. government
digital signature algorithm (DSA) is described below.
ECDSA Key Generation: E is an elliptic curve defined over Fq , and P is a point of prime order n in E
(Fq ); these are system wide

White Supremacists
The removal of Confederate monuments in some cities has stirred up intense controversy because of
white supremacist protesting the removal of the statues. These white supremacist are protesting the
removal of the statues because when they think of the Confederacy they think back in history when
the whites are firmly in control. So that s how the thought of believing whites should have more power
over all other races started. Another reason why white supremacists want to keep the statutes is
because they believe that by removing the statues, you re erasing the south s history. They say the
history of the south is being erased. Memorials like the one to Lee honor the bravery of the
southerners who did battle in the Civil War, they say.

Who Is Responding To The Wii
9 709 448 REV: JANUARY 4, 2010 ANDREI HAGIU HANNA HAŁABURDA Responding to the
Wii? Kazuo Hirai, chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI), had just gotten off a
conference call with journalists. It was late August 2008, and the reporters were inquiring about
Afrika, a new safari videogame for Sony s PlayStation 3 (PS3) console that allowed players to watch
wild animals and take virtual pictures. Hirai could not help feeling frustrated. Most of the conversation
like many others with Sony outsiders in the past month had revolved around two questions: Was
Afrika Sony s answer to the casual games that were partly responsible for the runaway success of rival
Nintendo s Wii videogame console? And more generally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Responding to the Wii? Market Birth, Collapse, and Rebirthb The videogame industry got off to an
uncertain start in 1972, when television maker Magnavox introduced Odyssey, the first home
videogame console. Priced at $100 (the equivalent of $516 in 2008 dollars),c Odyssey needed a
television screen to project its very limited action. The system came with 12 games, including versions
of tennis and ping pong, each on a printed circuit board.5 However, partly due to some uninspired
marketing and distribution decisions, Odyssey s appeal proved limited. Magnavox sold more than
100,000 game systems by year end, but sales quickly declined and Odyssey was pulled from the
market.6 Enter Atari Around the same time, a young entrepreneur named Nolan Bushnell was
developing arcade games with the use of then new microprocessor technology.7 In 1972, the company
he started, Atari, launched its first hit game an arcade version of ping pong.8 In Pong, two players
batted a ball of light back and forth between on screen paddles. The game instructions were simple:
Avoid missing ball for high score. 9 Pong was an immediate success: 8,500 arcade consoles were sold
in the first year.10 Bushnell

The Theme Of Isolation In The Lamp At Noon And The Painted...
The two stories The Lamp At Noon by Sinclair Ross and The Painted Door by Sinclair Ross, both deal
with the theme isolation. This is significant because it reveals that in the two stories, isolation had
varied negative effects on each of the families. In the two stories, there is emotional isolation that
influences the characters in multiple different ways. In The Lamp At Noon Ellen is driven insane by
the loneliness she feels from the isolation which drives her to make the decision to try to run away
which results in the baby s death The child was quite cold. It had been her arms, perhaps, to frantic to
protect him, or the smoother of dust upon his throat and lungs (81). Nevertheless, In the story The

The story The Lamp At Noon is set in the 1930s while the Dust Bowl occurred. The Dust Bowl was
when in the Prairies the drought and winds were so intense that farmers could not grow crops and the
wind made the air hard to see through because of all the dust the dust was thickening to an
impenetrable fog (73). The setting provided physical isolation to Ellen, Paul, and the baby. The story
The Painted Door is set in the 1930s while a snowstorm occurred. The snowstorm provides isolation
from the outside for Ann considering she could not leave her house during the storm She went to the
window, and thawing a clear place in the frost with her breath, stood looking across the snow swept
farmyard to the huddle of stables and sheds. (340). Finally, both the stories are set on farms in the
Canadian Prairies during the Great Depression, therefore, there were few people around and everyone
was struggling to provide for their families so there was scarce happiness Charity! She repeated at

Women s Status in Islam Essay
Women s Status in Islam In Islam, women and men are equal in terms of their relationship with Allah.
It can be clearly seen that Allah has created men and women differently, this is so that they may fulfil
different purposes in life. It is not a question of the superiority of one gender over another, rather it is a
matter of role differentiation. Islam teaches that men and women complement one another and are
both equally important. On the other hand, this is not the case is many cultures and traditions; before
and after Islam, the status of woman throughout much of the world was ... Show more content on

This is verified in the following hadith reported by Al Bukhari
A man came to the Prophet (s) and asked him: O Messenger of Allah, who among the people s worthy
of my good company? The prophet said, Your mother . The man asked, Then who? The Prophet (s)
again said, Your mother . The man asked, Then who? The Prophet again said, Your mother. The man
asked, Then who? The Prophet said, Then your father.
This not only shows that a mother is far more respected than other women, but also, far superior to a
father. A woman, only as a woman, is seen only equal to man, but certainly not greater, if not slightly
inferior in some circumstances.
Furthermore, the Quran also emphasises and makes people realise that their mothers bore them in
pain, and that they should respect and be grateful to their mothers because of that:
And we have enjoined on men (to be good) to his parents: in weakness upon weakness did his mother
bear him...
Partly because of this, motherhood is regarded as a most noble and honourable calling in Islamic
society. Women have been given the role of motherhood because Allah has blessed them with the
maternal instinct enables them to take care of children. This is supported in the Quran:
Moreover, the Quran has a special recommendation for good treatment of mothers.
Mothers have great respect and honour in Islam

Development Of Resistance And Antifungal Agents
Development of resistance to Antifungal agents in candidiasis
Introduction
Patients with HIV/AIDS all over the world are dealing with candidiasis mostly. Literature data point
out that this opportunistic pathogen is the leading cause of superficial and disseminated fungal
infections in humans. 96% mycoses infection are caused by Candida sp (Kourkoumpetis T M. D.,
2010). In healthy individuals Candida colonizes mainly mucosal surfaces of the oral cavity,
gastrointestinal and urogenital tracts without disease symptoms, where most frequently identified
species are C. al bicans (70%) and C. glabrata (7%) (Pfaller MA, Epidemiology of invasive
candidiasis: a persistent public health problem, 2007). In immunocompromised ... Show more content

Although superficial candidiasis rarely presents a risk to the life of patients, it significantly lowers the
quality of life (Borges M, Fungal infections of the skin: infection process and antimycotic therapy,
2005) (Rotta I, 2012). The high frequency of occurrence of candidiasis combined with difficult
treatment cause a tendency toward better understanding of C. albicans resistance mechanisms.
Therefore, this review focuses on characterization of antifungal agents commonly used in treatment
and fungal resistance mechanisms. We discuss here several topical and systemic options for the
treatment of candidiasis.
Antifungal agents
For the last three decades, fungal infections have become a major problem worldwide, especially
among the immunocompromised individuals (Pfaller MA, Epidemiology of invasive candidiasis,
2007). Despite that Candida is the leading cause of the opportunistic fungal infections, there is a
limited number of antimycotics available for therapy (Naglik JR, 2003) (Cannon RD, 2009). Perea et
al. (Perea S, 2002) divided antifungal agents commonly used for candidiasis treatment in five major
groups basing on their mode of action; group I: inhibition of RNA and/or DNA synthesis (fluorinated
pyrimidine analogs 5 FC); group II: alteration of the membrane function (polyenes: nystatin,
natamycin, amphotericin B AMB); group III: alteration of cell wall biosynthesis by inhibition of
β(1,3) glucan synthase (echinocandins: caspofungin,

Analysis Of The Book Escape Of The Night By David F....
Escape David David Johnson hid under the bed in his room. The heavy footsteps drew closer, and
David held his breath to try avoid detection. As the footsteps paused outside his door, David s heart
began to pound with dread. His pounding heart made it hard to breath, and at only seven years old,
David couldn t hold his breath for very long. It came out in a loud whoosh, and David shrank in terror
as the footsteps beat like drums toward him. He had been found. The dusty hardwood bit into his
shoulder as he tried to squeeze further under the bed. The legs of the lampstand seemed to wobble as
the footsteps pounded closer. The spider man comforter hung down like a hand reaching out to save
him. Across the room, the closet door was slightly open, revealing the white shelves that held his too
small clothes. There were shadows on the sky blue walls from the dim light of the hallway, and David
thought they looked like jagged monsters reaching out to get him. As he glanced back toward the oak
door of his room, David s vision was blocked by two large boots with red wings on them. Dirt had
been tracked across the floor, appearing to make the shadow standing above his bed even uglier. A
large, calloused hand reached under the bed and roughly jerked David from under it, and snatched
David by his unwashed, dirty blond hair. Get out here, you little twerp. A bumbling voice growled,
and David recognized the dreaded voice of his father, Denny Johnson. David, dangling from his

Plagiarism is a one of the most serious concerns in any academic institution. In many institutions,
Plagiarism is considered a very serious offense. Plagiarism can be of various forms. For instance,
taking credits for others effort, cheating in an assignment that requires individual efforts etc. It can be
a very easy matter to explain but also can be very difficult to dodge.
I consider Plagiarism to be very unethical and I think anyone who does plagiarism will most likely fail
in his career at any given point. Plagiarism is a type of cheating used in all types of mediums and
copying of ideas and using as their own There are different types of plagiarism and all are serious
violations of academic honesty. These are some types of plagiarism such as Direct plagiarism, self
plagiarism, mosaic plagiarism and accidental plagiarism. these types of plagiarism are mostly found in
today s educational system. Students must learn to always avoid any type of plagiarism either its
intentional or unintentional.
Direct plagiarism is the word for word transcription of a section of someone else s work, without
attribution and without quotes. The ponder plagiarism of someone else s work is untrustworthy,

and beliefs on morality along with human personality. Through out the two books, The Ego and the ID
as well as Civilization and It s Discontents, both written by Freud, he uses the terms ID, ego, and
super ego quite often. The ID could be described as the structure in one s self that drives them to do
what they do. It is what controls what we as humans desire or want in life. Freud s main focus
throughout these two books is the super ego. According to Freud s beliefs, the super ego is an ego of
such perfection. Freud displays the super ego as something within

Media Influence On Children Essay
The powerful media is considered a leading influence in our society both directly and indirectly.
Media is available and readily accessible today more easily than ever. Printed materials, television,
sound recordings, internet, and radio all fall under the umbrella of the big bad or seemingly bad word
media. Is media bad? How is it controlled? And where does this all stem from...? These are some of
the major concerns parents are faced with in raising children in today s times. Although most of our
media appears to be superficial and meaningless fluff, violence and chit chat, it is also a source of
education, humor and non violent entertainment. Both salesmen and individuals wishing to promote

A study was conducted on 3,155 children ages 2 18, in regard to the impact of media on society. The
survey was done by The Kaiser Family Foundation, and independent national healthcare philanthropy,
and the results appeared alarming. Children ages 8 and above, 65% have a bedroom TV and 21% have
a bedroom computer. Of all kids, in all ages in our society 69% have a computer at home and 45%
with internet access. One of the many results researchers were surprised to hear that of the children
ages 8 and above, 61% live in homes without any rules regarding TV and internet usage. Many
researchers and educators were alarmed with the extreme results and the percentage of time children
spend watching television. They believe there is a connection between too much media consumption
and violence or acting out among children. (Barbour, et al, 2008) (Clark Blackwell, 2002) In the
discussions regarding the influences media presents to our society two important factors must be
included. On factor, called media literacy was addressed by an educator, Renee Hobbs. Hobbs is
quoted saying Just because our students can use the media and technology doesn t mean they are
effective at critically analyzing and evaluating the messages they receive. Hobbs continues to express
her ideas, by saying children need to be taught the skills to ask important questions about the media

Congestion Charge Is An Influential Transport Policy...
Introduction: Road congestion charging is an influential transport policy agenda. As the demand cars
for has tremendously increased within the past century and therefore, roads have witnessed an
astonishing level of congestion. This brought forward the implementation of the congestion charge. In
particular, the issue of congestion charge has received great attention since it was first introduced in
2003, by the mayor of London. That charge £11.50 daily for traveling in the designated zone between
07:00 18:00? (TfL, 2008). This paper will deal with significant improvement of the policy, but will not
look at the cost associated with the policy. Congestion charge is beneficial to the society; it reduces
traffic levels in an efficient way to ensure profits are being made from the charge. Most notably
influencing airborne pollutants. However, it is vital to examine this area in order to access the
effectiveness of congestion charge scheme implementation, moreover. Several studies have shown that
the congestion charge has been effective in its implementation (Ishikawa and Asada, 2007); whilst
other studies have proven otherwise (Mahendra, 2010). The question remains, evaluating London
congestion charge scheme policy for the government transport sector. This paper will argue that there
have been significant improvements, since the introduction of the scheme. It will begin by outlining
on how congestion levels have reduced, then go on to provide the revenues generated from the

At Home with Homeschooling
There is nothing a parent would refuse for their own child. Parents go to great lengths to make sure
that their children are well cared for. The quality of education that children receive is among one of
the greatest concerns for parents. Parents will do just about anything to make sure their children have
the best education they can receive, even if this means that they choose a path of home schooling.
Although to some home schooling might sound daunting and outdated, but when one faces up with the
facts of home education it is clear that, when administered properly, it provides an environment where
children can learn at their own pace, develop a healthy social life, and receive a well rounded
education.

Furthermore, how is it possible for a teacher to devote attention to finding students with learning
disabilities?
Home schooling is a positive alternative to the public classroom setting. It allows parents, the ones
who know their child more than anyone else, time to gauge how their child behaves and responds to
different learning practices. If a child is determined to have learning disability, curriculum can be
altered to accommodate this challenge. If a child struggles in a particular subject, extra time can be
taken to make sure the child understand what he is learning and grasps the specific subject content.
Along with a flexible and unique learning environment, children can also feel safe and at ease while
learning from home. This is even more important for those children who suffer from learning
disabilities. Students who struggle with learning are very prone to classmate bullying and teasing. The
amount of bullying in the public classroom setting is rapidly increasing and with today s technology, it
does not stop there. Cyber bullying from classmates is becoming a growing concern. According to
Bullying Statistics, This type of bullying has gotten immense media attention over the past few years
sighting instances of cyber bullying pushed too far, and in many cases leading to cases of teen suicide
or death (Bullying Statistics).

Argument Against School Uniforms

specific colors of long or short pants and shirts for boys, sometimes with a tie. Girls usually wear a
dress or a blouse worn either with a skirt or pants, all however have the same colors. This dress code

Opponents think that when children select their own clothing, they can develop confidence and
independence, vital characteristics through the personality development and adult success. Controlling
extremely the socialization process of students will harm them as an adult, because they will not be
prepared for the real world, indeed by their appearances. In addition, opponents argue that when
students are limited about what they are going to wear, they will find other ways to offend the

alternatives of self expression, such as nontraditional hair styles or make up, or the worst revolting

especially those in middle and high school, are constantly concerned about their appearance that way,

Specific Environmental Effects Of Environmental Effects On...
Laboratory 7: Environmental Effects on Enzyme Activity
BI 185 03
BY
Charlie Kane
10/24/17
Abstract
During this experiment we tested the effects that specific environmental conditions have on the
enzyme, peroxidase. Through this experiment we developed an understanding of enzymes and their
functions. By exposing the enzymes to different environments, we observed a changed in their
activity. In order for us to measure these changes we used the technique of spectrophotometry,
meaning we used a spectrophotometer, which measures the amount of light a chemical can absorb. In
our findings we discovered that certain environmental factors such as pH, temperature, boiling do
have an affect on enzyme activity. In conclusion the five null hypothesis were proven to be incorrect.
Introduction
Enzymes are biological catalysts that carry thousands of chemical reactions that occur in living cells.
They could be found in every living thing. Enzymes increase the rate at which chemical reactions
occur. A catalyst speeds up a chemical reaction by lowering the activation energy required. They are
proteins made up of several amino acids. Each enzyme is different due to its structure, it all has
different amino acid sequence. An enzymes ability to function depends on it s environment. These
factors include temperature, denaturation, pH, the size , the shape, and the amount of enzymes present.
Enzymes performs best at ph7. That is the same pH as blood , the more enzymes stray away from pH7
the weaker it becomes , the active site gets damaged. This makes the enzyme not active, no longer
functional. When it comes to temperature enzymes at a certain temperature have maximum activity.
As temperature increases the enzyme activity also increases. When enzymes reach their maximum
activity level and the temperature is still increasing it will start to decline (denaturation). The rate of
reaction also depends on how much enzymes are present. We tested 5 hypothesis which were the
amount of enzyme does not alter the rate of a reaction. pH does not influence the rate of an enzyme
reaction. Temperature does not influence the rate of an enzyme activity. Boiling an enzyme before a
reaction does not influence enzyme activity. The

Businesses are feeling the difficulty to improve procurement and sourcing efficiency. The value that
can be achieved through successful procurement practices is often a lot harder to achieve than many
companies actually realize. If a company expects to grow and survive, it constantly needs to add

Fortune 500 companies like IBM, Dell, and Delta Air Lines are spending higher than 50% of their
revenues on procurement. For a long time, procurement has been looked at as negotiating to get better
prices. Many organizations still view procurement as a way to influence spending to get discounts and
lower costs from their suppliers. However, sustainability and the supply chain risks that companies
face today call for procurement to be different now. Organizations can see real savings by looking at
total cost of ownership, which can include a lot of the end to end supply chain costs. Disruptions are
unavoidable and every decision involved in the procurement process has a risk factor to it. In order for
procurement to influence and affect a company it must present a business case that it is a value added
function. An organization can add value long term with its ability of purchasing within procurement.
Organizations need to stop short term thinking because of the high risk levels associated with this.
Procurement decisions can add a lot of value to a company, but organizations need to think of the long
term implications of their decisions. Purchasing is important to competitive advantage because it
increases value and savings for a firm. Purchasing can build relationships, drive innovation, improve
quality, and reduce products time to market. Suppliers have a huge impact on organizations total costs

Supernatural Elements In Beowulf And The Lais Of Marie De...
Medieval and 16th century writers frequently used supernatural elements to tell their stories. Two
stories that are examples of this writing with supernatural elements are Beowulf , written by an
anonymous Anglo Saxon poet, and Lanval , from The Lais of Marie de France, written by Marie de
France. Both writers use supernatural elements in their stories to reflect emotions such as love, evil,
and power. The role of the supernatural in medieval writing helps writers to tell their stories by
developing the theme and the emotions of the characters as shown in Beowulf and Lanval . Beowulf
has many characters from the supernatural. Some of the main supernatural characters are the demon

people were terrified by these demons as stated by the unknown author, All were endangered; young
and old were hunted down by that dark death shadow who lurked and swooped in the long nights on
the misty moors; nobody knows where these reavers from hell roam on their errands. (pg. ?, lines 159

in from these evil demons. The second story is Lanval from The Lais by Marie de France. This story is
a supernatural love story between a very lonely knight from King Arthur s court named Lanval and a
beautiful, mystical lady that he falls madly in love with. The lady promises him riches beyond his
wildest dreams as long as he doesn t tell anyone about her. The supernatural effect indicates that
sometimes love has to be otherworldly to be true and lasting love. Marie de France wrote in Lanval ,

Iron Curtain Speech Research Paper
The Cold War was the state of tension between democratic nations and the communist Soviet Union.
There were two opposing groups in the group. The United States and their allies formed NATO (North
Atlantic Treaty Organization) and the Soviet Union and their allies formed the Warsaw Pact. The
NATO was formed to stop the progression of communism throughout countries and the Warsaw Pact
wanted to take over countries to spread communism. The Cold War lasted from 1945 to 1992.

Hiroshima A Bomb August 6, 1945
Before the First World War, German scientists James Franck and Gustav Hertz conducted experiments
where they added electrons to Mercury atoms. They traced the energy changes that the collision
caused. That experiment led Nils Bohr to make a theory that an atom can absorb energy in precise and
definite amounts. After that experiment, many other scientists conducted research on radioactive
methods to chemical problems and conducted more experiments on how elements would react when

Churchill using the term Iron Curtain was iconic. The term became a part of the vocabulary used when
talking about Cold War. The speech was used to confirm the relationship with Britain and the United
States (forming an alliance). The speech was a warning of the danger that was the Soviet Union and
Communism. By giving the speech let the public know the dangers of the Soviet Union.
I think the Iron Curtain Speech speech was really interesting. I found myself to get lost while
watching the video of the speech as I was getting information about the topic. I think it was important
for the speech to be given. I don t have any other solution for the speech because it didn t affect
anyone in a negative way (unlike the A Bomb). Overall, I enjoyed reading about the topic and how it
set the beginning of the Cold War.

The Relationship Between Faith And Reason In The Catholic...
Faith and Reason have long been a topic of discussion in the Catholic Church. Some might say that
faith and reason contradict each other, but the Catholic church disagrees. In the Catechism of the
Catholic church it states, Though faith is above reason, there can never be any real discrepancy
between faith and reason. Since the same God who reveals mysteries and infuses faith has bestowed
the light of reason on the human mind, God cannot deny himself, nor can truth ever contradict truth.
37 Consequently, methodical research in all branches of knowledge provided it is carried out in a truly
scientific manner and does not override moral laws, can never conflict with the faith, because the
things of the world and the things of faith derive from the same God. The humble and persevering
investigator of the secrets of nature is being led, as it were, by the hand of God in spite of himself, for
it is God, the conserver of all things, who made them what they are (CCC 159).The Catholic church
teaches that reason is a gift from God, and therefore, all things researched are done through because he
is the one who has created the person doing the reasoning. God wants us to use our minds in ways that
honor him, and the Catholic church continues to reinforce that this idea of faith and reasoning go
together, hand in hand. Faith is having the faith in the system of reason that is used to infer answers
from the Bible. The church teaches that there can never be a big difference between the

Protectionism Vs. Free Trade
Protectionism vs Free Trade The model of a country s trade regulations, rules, and openness to trade
can generally be classified under two ordeals, which are protectionism and free trade. A country that
chooses to have a closed barrier of entry for imports and generally refuses to take part in the world
trading system is said to be practicing protectionism, which is when a country doesn t open their
economy for the world (Hill, 2015). On the other hand, a country that welcomes foreign firms and
more open trade is side to be free trading and openly participates in the world trading system and the
growing notions of the globalism. Both these economic trade philosophies are seen in countries
around the globe, and each has their set of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nations that don t trade heavily participate in massive importing often have to resort to increasingly
their own economic productivity in order to provide the essentials needed for that country s citizens
and operations (Protectionism, 2017). Often times tariffs, trade quotas, and a lot of bureaucratic
regulations are in place to discourage foreign investors and excessive imports. increased Increasing
economic productivity often means growth of the private sector as mentioned because of the insource
more products and services, which indicates more employment and economic expansion
(Protectionism, 2017). In terms of more specific business factors, these countries often have more
internal talent and can utilize it more effectively, and therefore foster and manage innovation and
organizational processes in a more efficient manner.
Countries that adopt protectionism typically experience trade surpluses and have extensive financial
reserves, and are very productive, powerhouses for innovation, and are valuable players in the
international trade business. They also have lower unemployment levels and typically are much more
self sufficient, relying less on the mercy of more unstable economic practices such as inflation to prop
their economy (Hill, 2015). On the surface, it would appear that

New People Theme Of Identity
In her latest novel, Danzy Senna dives deep into the territory of love, race, identity, heritage, and
privilege, revealing the harsh reality of growing up in America with two different ethnicities. Danzy
Senna s New People defines the social complexities of having and understanding a full identity of one
s own and what it means to pass as one race or another through it s conflicted and anti heroine of a
character and discouraging setting.
Maria s struggle with identity is foremost throughout the novel. Her appearance is misleading from
her actual ethnicity, which she has trouble coming to terms with. This theme accentuates the idea that
people base judgments off of looks rather than the truth. This can build the question of who can pass
for what? . It gives Maria the chance to assimilate with white culture while not actually being white. It
s no question that she feels like a stranger in her own home, an alien in her own body due to the
confusion of not knowing who she really is.. It s also clear she feels the need to gain social
acceptance, but she doesn t know how the people want her to be to obtain it. Maria can t seem to grasp
the idea of living as just her and keeps yearning for the simplicity of being just one race. Her

Civil War Dbq Research Paper
The Civil War arose through the desire of southern states that wanted to secede from the Union when
Abraham Lincoln became the sixteenth president of the United States. These states believed that
Lincoln s point of abolition of slavery would harm them. Therefore, they declared for the secession.
However, the Federal Government never wanted the separation in the country, so they rejected this
declaration and tried to preserve the Union. This led to the Civil War in which the Federal
Government got the final winning. Through signing of the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, the
Federal Government could achieve abolition of slavery in the whole country. However, the issue of
slavery still existed vaguely. There were few issues relating to citizenship of African descents born in
America and rights for voting. Moreover, Lincoln recognized that the Emancipation Proclamation

All southern states that had been parts of the Confederacy were demanded to admit this amendment
before reentering to the Union. This amendment ensured that neither slavery nor involuntary servitude
would exist in the United States. The 14th amendment was passed in 1866 and ratified in 1868. This
amendment addressed citizenship rights to all people who were born in America. It recognized the
citizenship for African American born here even though their origin was former slaves. It meant that
all American citizens, even white race or black race, were equal in citizenship rights and protection of
the laws. Black people could receive the same treatment as white people. Lastly, the 15th amendment
ratified in 1870 prohibited discrimination in voting rights based on race, color, or previous condition

government denied allowing their citizens to vote based on their black skin seen as a proof that they

The Chemistry Within Oncology And Cancer
Cancer has become an epidemic across America. About 13 million Americans have cancer and a little
over 1 million are diagnosed every year. For years Oncologist have been looking for treatments to cure
this horrible disease(American Cancer Society, 2013). Chemistry has such a major impact on the
research of cancer. The chemistry within Oncology Cancer Research has greatly increased our
knowledge and capabilities for developing new treatments or actually finding a significant cure
(American Cancer Society,2013). This paper is explaining how chemistry is used to seek out cancer
cells, treat, and also inform how the different chemicals are affecting our body.
Firstly, Temperatures can have a significant effect on cancer. A cold environment can speed up the
growth of cancer cells within the body. When your body is cold it starts to react differently by
gradually going into survival mode, making your blood vessels narrow in order to
maintain body heat or our extremities will start to suffer. (Nordqvist, 2013) The process of
hyperthermia is used in two different ways. Local hyperthermia or Whole body
hyperthermia(American Cancer Society,2013). Local hyperthermia uses very high temperatures that
can destroy the DNA of tumors that are cancerous. High temperatures can also kill or injure normal
cells and tissues in your body. Regional or whole body hypothermia is raising the temperature, to part
or the whole body,by a few degrees than normal. The BX Energy Catalyst is

A Wrinkle Through Time Is The Story Of Meg Murry
A Wrinkle In Time is the story of Meg Murry, a high school girl who goes on an adventure between
dimensions with her younger brother Charles Wallace and friend Calvin to save her father from the
evil forces that hold him prisoner on another planet. These evil forces are known as IT, and strive to
create uniformity and obedience without any resistance. At the end of the book the children have

who had Mr. Murry, and was left behind. Meg is forced to go back to Camazotz alone to save her
brother, using something that she has the IT can t fight. Using her immense love for her brother she
frees him from the control of IT and all four of them make it home safely. I personally would have
prefered a more tragic ending, so that s exactly what I m going to be writing here. My ending diverges
from the original plot line after Meg lands on Camazotz alone to save Charles Wallace: Meg was
standing breathlessly on the same hill that she had landed on the first time she came to Camazotz. She

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Liras
It is obvious to us all how fast the e commerce sector has grown in our country and in the world.
Indeed, it had been estimated that the trading volume would reach the level of 54, 4 billion Turkish
Liras at the end of 2015 if it, which achieved 30% growth in the first six months of 2015, kept up the
same growth speed in the other half of the year. Within such a coherently growing sector, it has lately
been observed that some e commerce brands have a paradigm shift towards opening physical stores;
that is, they have a tendency towards starting up physical stores instead of remaining online only. This
system is called click to brick . Such hybrid structures, which provide a combination of the digital

researching from one channel, buying from another channel
Channels may have different specialities by nature on some product or pricing strategies. Then,
complementing eachother can be hard for them.
Lastly, channel integration can become a zero sum game. While one side is getting all the advantages,
disadvantages can get together totally in the other side
For taking all the advantages and minimizing the disadvantages above mentioned, it is essential to
manage integration process properly for companies who are doing e commerce and opened up or

Biographical Information Wendy and I discussed her degree and educational background. Wendy

  • 2. Elliptic Curve Cryptology Used to Make Keys Elliptic Curve Cryptology What and Why of ECC? Elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) is a public key cryptography technique by making use of elliptic curve properties and their algebraic structure of over finite fields. It is one of the efficient ways of providing encryption of cryptographic keys. Elliptic curves as algebraic/geometric entities have been studied extensively for the past 150 years, and from these studies has emerged a rich and deep theory. Elliptic curve systems as applied to cryptography were first proposed in 1985 independently by Neal Koblitz from the University of Washington, and Victor Miller, who was then at IBM, Yorktown Heights.[1] These curves have allowed establishment of a new generation of asymmetric ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We take another point Q on the curve. We compute R = P + Q. It is a graphical operation consisting of tracing a line through P and Q. This line defines a unique intersection with the EC: the point R. R is found by taking the symmetric point with respect to the x axis (see figure 2). Figure 2 Example of addition Formally: P = (x1,y1) Q = (x2,y2) R = P + Q = (x3,y3) Where, x3 = ө 2 x1 x2 y3 = ө (x1 + x3) y1 with ө = (y2 y1)/(x2 x1). If P = Q, R = P + Q is equivalent to adding a point to itself: doubling point P. Doubling The operation needs a single point and consists of finding a point 2P. We draw a tangent line to the EC at point P. This line intersects the curve in a point R. Reflecting this point across the x axis gives R: R = 2P. See figure 3. Formally: the only difference with an addition is the definition of ө. ө = (3x1 + a)/2y1 Figure 3 Example of doubling a point P Calculations over the real numbers are slow and inaccurate due to round off error. Cryptographic applications require fast and precise arithmetic; thus elliptic curve groups over the finite fields of Fp and Fm2 are used in practice.[1] The key generation and verification of elliptic curve analogue (ECDSA) of the U.S. government

These white supremacist are protesting the removal of the statues because when they think of the Confederacy they think back in history when the whites are firmly in control. So that s how the thought of believing whites should have more power over all other races started. Another reason why white supremacists want to keep the statutes is because they believe that by removing the statues, you re erasing the south s history. They say the history of the south is being erased. Memorials like the one to Lee honor the bravery of the southerners who did battle in the Civil War, they say. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Who Is Responding To The Wii 9 709 448 REV: JANUARY 4, 2010 ANDREI HAGIU HANNA HAŁABURDA Responding to the Wii? Kazuo Hirai, chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI), had just gotten off a conference call with journalists. It was late August 2008, and the reporters were inquiring about Afrika, a new safari videogame for Sony s PlayStation 3 (PS3) console that allowed players to watch wild animals and take virtual pictures. Hirai could not help feeling frustrated. Most of the conversation like many others with Sony outsiders in the past month had revolved around two questions: Was Afrika Sony s answer to the casual games that were partly responsible for the runaway success of rival Nintendo s Wii videogame console? And more generally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Market Birth, Collapse, and Rebirthb The videogame industry got off to an uncertain start in 1972, when television maker Magnavox introduced Odyssey, the first home videogame console. Priced at $100 (the equivalent of $516 in 2008 dollars),c Odyssey needed a television screen to project its very limited action. The system came with 12 games, including versions of tennis and ping pong, each on a printed circuit board.5 However, partly due to some uninspired marketing and distribution decisions, Odyssey s appeal proved limited. Magnavox sold more than 100,000 game systems by year end, but sales quickly declined and Odyssey was pulled from the market.6 Enter Atari Around the same time, a young entrepreneur named Nolan Bushnell was developing arcade games with the use of then new microprocessor technology.7 In 1972, the company he started, Atari, launched its first hit game an arcade version of ping pong.8 In Pong, two players batted a ball of light back and forth between on screen paddles. The game instructions were simple: Avoid missing ball for high score. 9 Pong was an immediate success: 8,500 arcade consoles were sold in the first year.10 Bushnell ... • 6. The Theme Of Isolation In The Lamp At Noon And The Painted... The two stories The Lamp At Noon by Sinclair Ross and The Painted Door by Sinclair Ross, both deal with the theme isolation. This is significant because it reveals that in the two stories, isolation had varied negative effects on each of the families. In the two stories, there is emotional isolation that influences the characters in multiple different ways. In The Lamp At Noon Ellen is driven insane by the loneliness she feels from the isolation which drives her to make the decision to try to run away which results in the baby s death The child was quite cold. It had been her arms, perhaps, to frantic to protect him, or the smoother of dust upon his throat and lungs (81). Nevertheless, In the story The Painted Door Ann decides to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The story The Lamp At Noon is set in the 1930s while the Dust Bowl occurred. The Dust Bowl was when in the Prairies the drought and winds were so intense that farmers could not grow crops and the wind made the air hard to see through because of all the dust the dust was thickening to an impenetrable fog (73). The setting provided physical isolation to Ellen, Paul, and the baby. The story The Painted Door is set in the 1930s while a snowstorm occurred. The snowstorm provides isolation from the outside for Ann considering she could not leave her house during the storm She went to the window, and thawing a clear place in the frost with her breath, stood looking across the snow swept farmyard to the huddle of stables and sheds. (340). Finally, both the stories are set on farms in the Canadian Prairies during the Great Depression, therefore, there were few people around and everyone was struggling to provide for their families so there was scarce happiness Charity! • 7. Women s Status in Islam Essay Women s Status in Islam In Islam, women and men are equal in terms of their relationship with Allah. It can be clearly seen that Allah has created men and women differently, this is so that they may fulfil different purposes in life. It is not a question of the superiority of one gender over another, rather it is a matter of role differentiation. Islam teaches that men and women complement one another and are both equally important. On the other hand, this is not the case is many cultures and traditions; before and after Islam, the status of woman throughout much of the world was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is verified in the following hadith reported by Al Bukhari A man came to the Prophet (s) and asked him: O Messenger of Allah, who among the people s worthy of my good company? The prophet said, Your mother . The man asked, Then who? The Prophet (s) again said, Your mother . The man asked, Then who? The Prophet again said, Your mother. The man asked, Then who? The Prophet said, Then your father. This not only shows that a mother is far more respected than other women, but also, far superior to a father. A woman, only as a woman, is seen only equal to man, but certainly not greater, if not slightly inferior in some circumstances. Furthermore, the Quran also emphasises and makes people realise that their mothers bore them in pain, and that they should respect and be grateful to their mothers because of that: And we have enjoined on men (to be good) to his parents: in weakness upon weakness did his mother bear him... Partly because of this, motherhood is regarded as a most noble and honourable calling in Islamic society. Women have been given the role of motherhood because Allah has blessed them with the maternal instinct enables them to take care of children. This is supported in the Quran: Moreover, the Quran has a special recommendation for good treatment of mothers. Mothers have great respect and honour in Islam Fear God, in whose ... • 8. Development Of Resistance And Antifungal Agents Development of resistance to Antifungal agents in candidiasis Introduction Patients with HIV/AIDS all over the world are dealing with candidiasis mostly. Literature data point out that this opportunistic pathogen is the leading cause of superficial and disseminated fungal infections in humans. 96% mycoses infection are caused by Candida sp (Kourkoumpetis T M. D., 2010). In healthy individuals Candida colonizes mainly mucosal surfaces of the oral cavity, gastrointestinal and urogenital tracts without disease symptoms, where most frequently identified species are C. al bicans (70%) and C. glabrata (7%) (Pfaller MA, Epidemiology of invasive candidiasis: a persistent public health problem, 2007). In immunocompromised ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although superficial candidiasis rarely presents a risk to the life of patients, it significantly lowers the quality of life (Borges M, Fungal infections of the skin: infection process and antimycotic therapy, 2005) (Rotta I, 2012). The high frequency of occurrence of candidiasis combined with difficult treatment cause a tendency toward better understanding of C. albicans resistance mechanisms. Therefore, this review focuses on characterization of antifungal agents commonly used in treatment and fungal resistance mechanisms. We discuss here several topical and systemic options for the treatment of candidiasis. Antifungal agents For the last three decades, fungal infections have become a major problem worldwide, especially among the immunocompromised individuals (Pfaller MA, Epidemiology of invasive candidiasis, 2007). Despite that Candida is the leading cause of the opportunistic fungal infections, there is a limited number of antimycotics available for therapy (Naglik JR, 2003) (Cannon RD, 2009). Perea et al. (Perea S, 2002) divided antifungal agents commonly used for candidiasis treatment in five major groups basing on their mode of action; group I: inhibition of RNA and/or DNA synthesis (fluorinated pyrimidine analogs 5 FC); group II: alteration of the membrane function (polyenes: nystatin, natamycin, amphotericin B AMB); group III: alteration of cell wall biosynthesis by inhibition of β(1,3) glucan synthase (echinocandins: caspofungin, ... • 10. Analysis Of The Book Escape Of The Night By David F.... Escape David David Johnson hid under the bed in his room. The heavy footsteps drew closer, and David held his breath to try avoid detection. As the footsteps paused outside his door, David s heart began to pound with dread. His pounding heart made it hard to breath, and at only seven years old, David couldn t hold his breath for very long. It came out in a loud whoosh, and David shrank in terror as the footsteps beat like drums toward him. He had been found. The dusty hardwood bit into his shoulder as he tried to squeeze further under the bed. The legs of the lampstand seemed to wobble as the footsteps pounded closer. The spider man comforter hung down like a hand reaching out to save him. Across the room, the closet door was slightly open, revealing the white shelves that held his too small clothes. There were shadows on the sky blue walls from the dim light of the hallway, and David thought they looked like jagged monsters reaching out to get him. As he glanced back toward the oak door of his room, David s vision was blocked by two large boots with red wings on them. Dirt had been tracked across the floor, appearing to make the shadow standing above his bed even uglier. A large, calloused hand reached under the bed and roughly jerked David from under it, and snatched David by his unwashed, dirty blond hair. Get out here, you little twerp. Through out the two books, The Ego and the ID as well as Civilization and It s Discontents, both written by Freud, he uses the terms ID, ego, and super ego quite often. The ID could be described as the structure in one s self that drives them to do what they do. It is what controls what we as humans desire or want in life. • 14. Congestion Charge Is An Influential Transport Policy... Introduction: Road congestion charging is an influential transport policy agenda. As the demand cars for has tremendously increased within the past century and therefore, roads have witnessed an astonishing level of congestion. This brought forward the implementation of the congestion charge. In particular, the issue of congestion charge has received great attention since it was first introduced in 2003, by the mayor of London. That charge £11.50 daily for traveling in the designated zone between 07:00 18:00? (TfL, 2008). This paper will deal with significant improvement of the policy, but will not look at the cost associated with the policy. Congestion charge is beneficial to the society; it reduces traffic levels in an efficient way to ensure profits are being made from the charge. Most notably influencing airborne pollutants. However, it is vital to examine this area in order to access the effectiveness of congestion charge scheme implementation, moreover. Several studies have shown that the congestion charge has been effective in its implementation (Ishikawa and Asada, 2007); whilst other studies have proven otherwise (Mahendra, 2010). The question remains, evaluating London congestion charge scheme policy for the government transport sector. This paper will argue that there have been significant improvements, since the introduction of the scheme. Laboratory 7: Environmental Effects on Enzyme Activity BI 185 03 BY Charlie Kane 10/24/17 Abstract During this experiment we tested the effects that specific environmental conditions have on the enzyme, peroxidase. Through this experiment we developed an understanding of enzymes and their functions. By exposing the enzymes to different environments, we observed a changed in their activity. In order for us to measure these changes we used the technique of spectrophotometry, meaning we used a spectrophotometer, which measures the amount of light a chemical can absorb. In our findings we discovered that certain environmental factors such as pH, temperature, boiling do have an affect on enzyme activity. In conclusion the five null hypothesis were proven to be incorrect. Introduction Enzymes are biological catalysts that carry thousands of chemical reactions that occur in living cells. They could be found in every living thing. Enzymes increase the rate at which chemical reactions occur. A catalyst speeds up a chemical reaction by lowering the activation energy required. They are proteins made up of several amino acids. Each enzyme is different due to its structure, it all has different amino acid sequence. An enzymes ability to function depends on it s environment. These factors include temperature, denaturation, pH, the size , the shape, and the amount of enzymes present. Enzymes performs best at ph7. That is the same pH as blood , the more enzymes stray away from pH7 the weaker it becomes , the active site gets damaged. This makes the enzyme not active, no longer functional. When it comes to temperature enzymes at a certain temperature have maximum activity. As temperature increases the enzyme activity also increases. When enzymes reach their maximum activity level and the temperature is still increasing it will start to decline (denaturation). The rate of reaction also depends on how much enzymes are present. We tested 5 hypothesis which were the amount of enzyme does not alter the rate of a reaction. pH does not influence the rate of an enzyme reaction. Temperature does not influence the rate of an enzyme activity. Boiling an enzyme before a reaction does not influence enzyme activity. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some might say that faith and reason contradict each other, but the Catholic church disagrees. In the Catechism of the Catholic church it states, Though faith is above reason, there can never be any real discrepancy between faith and reason. Since the same God who reveals mysteries and infuses faith has bestowed the light of reason on the human mind, God cannot deny himself, nor can truth ever contradict truth. 37 Consequently, methodical research in all branches of knowledge provided it is carried out in a truly scientific manner and does not override moral laws, can never conflict with the faith, because the things of the world and the things of faith derive from the same God. The humble and persevering investigator of the secrets of nature is being led, as it were, by the hand of God in spite of himself, for it is God, the conserver of all things, who made them what they are (CCC 159).The Catholic church teaches that reason is a gift from God, and therefore, all things researched are done through because he is the one who has created the person doing the reasoning.
