Mccarran Airport Essay
McCarran International Airport (LAS) is the main commercial airport for the Las Vegas Valley and
Clark County, Nevada. It is roughly 5 miles south of Las Vegas, NV in Clark County. LAS covers
nearly 2,800 acres, with four runways and two terminals. LAS is owned by Clark County and operated
by the Clark County Department of Aviation (DOA) (AirportIQ, 2015). The airport is named after
former Nevada senator Pat McCarran (Hall Patton, 2010). LAS is a focus city and the largest
operating base for Allegiant Air and Southwest Airlines.

102 Year Old Time Capsule Research Paper
On July 1st, 2017 workers in St.Louis were taking down a monument and while doing that they
discovered a 102 year old time capsule. I think it would be hard to figure out what to put in a time
capsule in the year 1915, but it did give a looking glass to the year 2017 about what was used before
all the technology and new gadgets. For me, fashion, FADS, and technology would best describe what
life was like in the 2000 s. To best describe what our generation was like fashion, technology, and
FADS should be placed in a time capsule. For example, one of the fashion trends in 2016 mostly
names brands. Like a brand named Supreme . Once famous YouTubers started to wear this clothing
brand, most teenagers have been wanting to get a headband or a shirt. Next, is of course Vineyard
Vines , this brand was worn by many because of their signature smiley whale with different prints and
designs.Lastly, is the name brand Lokai mostly girls were obsessed with the fact that the bracelet

This is more towards the challenges that kids were obsessed with in the year 2016.The first example is
bottle flipping. Plastic water bottles were quickly banned from most schools, but that didn t stop the

challenge is a favorite, it wasn t easy to stay still with all the laughter, but it was fun to try and share
with friends on social media. This challenge soon went viral and everybody like celebrities, athletes,
and even pets were getting in on the fun of staying still in a funny casual position while someone films
you. Finally, is the ice bucket challenge, this challenge was for a good cause for ASL. The point would
be to dump ice water over your body and then challenge someone if that person does not do the
challenge in 24 hours they would have to donate $100 to the ASL

Different Strokes for Different Folks in To Kill a...
Morals are something that everyone has. In To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the book is full of
morally right people and morally wrong people. Jem is one of the most morally stable children in the
book because he understands what is happening in his community around the time of Tom Robinson s
trial and why it is wrong. He and I share some of the same morals and that is why I picked him as my
character choice. I am a very sensitive person. It s been this way since I could remember. So, I try to
be sensitive to other people s feelings. So, about a month ago, I started going to club volleyball ,but I
signed up late. The first time I went to practice, I expected to take some flack from the girls because I
was the new kid . Surprisingly though, everyone was nice to me except one girl. Her name was Cassie
and she knew everything that had to do with volleyball. As the season progressed on and the new kid
vibe faded, Cassie still made me feel like dirt. I never saw her tell any of the other girls on my team
what to do when they made a mistake and I kind of felt singled out. My mom had picked me up from
and I ranted, and ranted, until my mom stepped in and said, Elon, think about all you just said. You
don t know what she s like except during volleyball. I know for a fact she has problems at home
because her mom told me. I tuned her out halfway through because I was tired of my mom defending
everyone other than me. But the longer I thought about, the more of what she said

Burger King
Case Study: Burger King Beefs Up
By Janet Mosha
Burger King is the world s largest chain of flame broiled fast food restaurants. Its core competency is
its flame broiled burgers; whereas other fast food hamburger joints serve fried burgers or no burgers at
all, Burger King offers the unique flame broiled burgers with any options that a customer might like,
consumers have the benefit of having a burger they cannot find elsewhere. Initially Burger King only
sold burgers, fries, shakes, and sodas; but they have chosen to expand to offering chicken, fish, salads
etc. Although they offer these extra items, they have elected to stay true to their original flame broiled
burgers and their chosen strategy is to focus on the whopper as their ... Show more content on

When people are in a center like environment for example a mall then it is easier to pick whatever
food is there rather than to look elsewhere and return to hang out or shop; therefore Burger King
would have an upper hand if it is one of the foods available.
Burger King is headquartered in Miami, because of its near proximity to Latin America. This strategic
position has allowed Burger King to ensure its presence in the Latin community. The South Americans
who make a pit stop in Miami in order to enter the United States are familiarize themselves with the
Burger King products, and Burger King is also able to test the products on indigenous Latin
community, before expanding to the Latin countries without the fear of undergoing rejection. This
location in Miami has simplified their entry into the Latin countries and businesses seeking franchises
find it easier to work with them. Burger King has strengthened their global competitive position in the
Latin countries, but we find that these countries are not heavily populated; they should also try to
expand to denser populations like those of China, India, Nigeria etc. this could prove to be more
profitable in the long run. Burger King can use the South American countries to understand how to

The Controversy Of Banning Boxing
It is well known that boxing is a dangerous and violent sport, as the main concept of the sport is to
knock out the opponent. Many boxers have been seriously injured or even died because of boxing.
Many people believe the sport should be banned because of the violent and dangerous nature.
However, there are others who believe that the sport could be made safer and will have no need to be
banned.
Boxing is a very dangerous sport; competitors die every year, whether during a match or because of an
injury transpired from boxing. Some of the injuries caused by boxing can make people disabled, like
Michael Watson. Medical associations want to end boxing after carrying out medical studies, showing
that boxing can lead to long term brain damage, and can even lead to illnesses like Parkinson s
disease. Brain tissue is quite a soft mass and the blood vessels within it are strong, when the head is
hit, a blood vessel can snap, leading to a hemorrhage, or can create microscopic tearing of the brain
tissue around the vessel. Banning boxing can put an end to unnecessary deaths and injuries, including
brain damage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those who do participate in illegal cockfighting, they are punished; the same would go for boxing if it
were banned and then continued underground. Punishment for participating in boxing, by fighting or
simply watching, should scare people off for taking the sport underground. If boxing became an illegal
sport, it would lose television coverage, thus lose money and will struggle to keep the sport afloat.
Boxers have a range of skills and would be able to participate in other sports, so they at least have
options if boxing were to be

Summary and Explanation of Proposals
In order for ZXY Inc. to make sure that their entire organization is secure, some proposals have been
put into place to protect the company. The company needs to make sure that the network, their
employee s, company devices, and communications are secure from the outside world. The proposals
that have been put into place cover such areas as: access control methods, authentication, user s
accounts and passwords, cryptography, remote access, network attack mitigation, malware and device

Access control is used in determining whether or not to grant or deny access to these resources or
services to an employee, group of employees or to an entire department. There are four commonly
used types of access control methods; however for a smaller company without many employees at this
point in time Discretionary Access Control (DAC) would be good starting point for ZXY Inc.
Discretionary access control allows the owner of the service or resource to determine who is granted
and who is denied access to certain resources. The owner of each resource and service will be given
full authority on granting and denying permissions over what they have ownership of. ZXY Inc. does
need to make sure that it does not make just one employee the owner of every resource and service.
This is done in order to make sure that one potential bad employee doesn t harm the entire company s
information security network with malicious acts. In regards to user accounts and passwords, a few
steps should be taken in order to safeguard company information and protect company data. Each
individual employee should be given a unique username that will be used as part of the employee s
network log on. Each unique username will then be used by the IT department and DAC owner s in
order to grant and/or deny permission s. By having unique user names for each employee, the owners

Alzheimer s Disease ( Ad ) Is A Neurodegenerative...
Alzheimer s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative condition that affects the memory function, which is
a huge public health concern among the elderly population. It has affected more than five million
individuals in the United States and that number is expected to quadruple by the 2050 if interventions
are not found. AD has a huge affect on the world not only by the number of deaths that it is causing
but also the amount of health care costs reaching around 100 billion dollars. Because of the increase of
AD throughout the globe, the aging population should consider the intake of certain vitamins and
nutrients in their daily lives to possibly reduce or prevent the onset of AD. Nutritional factors and
nutritional deficiencies have a very strong correlation with cognitive decline as illustrated throughout
the study done by Angelo Parigi, Francesco Panza, Cristiano Capurso, and Vincenzo Solfrizzi. Ones
dietary habits and nutritional deficiencies have a huge determining factor on cognitive impairment on
an individual with AD. B vitamins have a relationship with cognitive dysfunction in many
observational studies as well as clinical and epidemiological studies. Another type of vitamin that was
found to correspond with cognitive impairment is folate (B9) and cobalamine (B12), the studies that
were done on these two types of vitamins did find the determinants with cognitive impairment in AD.
The elderly populations is among the highest at risk for nutritional deficiencies, with

The Reality Of Hollywood Schools Vs. Reality
Hollywood schools vs reality
A person might be afraid of the mean girl group, or about what the dumb jocks say. Hollywood makes
it seem different than what the reality actually is. Maybe that s why high schoolers may be a little
disappointed when they don t see chandeliers, fog machines, or sparkling lights at their prom. Some
kids are afraid of the first day of middle school. They re are preparing themselves for that harsh mean
girl click they may have seen on tv. Or may be afraid that the boys in the older grade than them would
shove the in their locker. While bullying is very real, and everyone should take it for caution, some
things may not be what they seem as portrayed in Hollywood. Bullying is a serious thing and the state
of New York has even taken it to the extents of finning a parent up to $250 or 15 days in jail. The
popular movie, Mean Girls, made in 2004, stars a girl named Cady, and which she is friends with
unpopular people. She groups up with the Plastics to get closer with her enemies. In the end hope to
sabotage the famous Regina George by giving her protein bars to make her gain weight, even though
she want to lose three pounds. Cady even got Regina s friends to turn against her. Again, bullying is
real, but bullying in real life is much more subtle nowadays.
Most people would think that it wouldn t be the smartest idea to leave their sixteen year old child
alone for a day. Well, Cady s parents didn t. In that time Cadey had a party, got

Neuropsychological Syndrome Essay
Describe and discuss one case study of a study of a patient with a specific neuropsychological
syndrome.
Memory is a rudimentary cognitive process, which plays a critical role in nearly all other important
cognitive functions, such as language, reasoning, perception and attention. In particularly,
autobiographical memory (AM) is one of the most important ways by which we develop a coherent
representation of self, an understanding of who we are, and our ability to make sense of the past
(James, 1890; Bluck and Habermas, 2001, Conway, 2005). The complex phenomenon is dependent on
the refined interaction of semantic memory (for factual, and conceptual knowledge, and executive
control functions) (Cabeza St. Jacques, 2007; Conway Pleydell Pearce, 2000), and episodic memory

Based upon AJ s neuropsychological tests and observations, the researchers note that her deficits
indicate atypical frontal lobe functions her dysnomia (naming problems), anomalous lateralization,
and obsessive compulsive tendencies. These deficits are commonly found in neurodevelopmental
frontostriatal disorders such as obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), attention deficit hyperactivity
(ADHD), schizophrenia and Tourette s syndrome (Bradshaw and Sheppard, 2000). However
CRITIQUE? Add critical analysis of dysnomia, ADHD, Tourette s
Clinically, impairments of AM have been associated with neurodegenerative illnesses such as
Alzheimer s disease and other geriatric neuropsychological conditions (Addis, Sacchetti, Ally,
Schacter, Budson, 2009). It is for this reason neuroscientists have pursued to better understand the
neural networks that boast AM, in attempt to further the knowledge of AM which would broaden the
underpinnings of human brain functions, which could translate to further treatment of clinical cases.

Non-Recommendation Report
This letter on Non Recommendation is to inform you that Officer Reginald Nathan is currently

assigned as his supervisor for over the last two years and have a unique vision of his character, duty
performance, strengths, and deficiencies. While Officer Nathan has been at YKCC since January 30th,
2014, I believe he is lacking the individual drive, ability, and maturity to perform either of these
positions without direct supervision and by the minute direction.

ghastly view of on time attendance (possible abuse of leave). During his 9 26 15 thru ... Show more

standard; beyond this, he is limited. Moreover, Officer Nathan has had to be reminded that inmates are
not to be convinced to write a Request for Interview or Medical Request injecting they have a specific
medical infliction or legal right to have or demand anything.
Don t get this letter wrong, he is able to complete the work assigned to him; at the shift level and with
direct supervision, but the quality of the work is satisfactory and sometimes below average. I believe
that Officer Nathan has the potential to be a good Officer, but repugnance and pride not to accept

Advantages And Disadvantages Of 4g Communication
INTRODUCTION :
Wireless communication is the transfer of information over a distance without the use of enhanced
electrical conductors or wires . The distances involved may be short (a few meters as in television
remote control) or long (thousands or millions of kilometers for radio communications). When the
context is clear, the term is often shortened to wireless . It encompasses various types of fixed, mobile,
and portable two way radios, cellular telephones, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), and wireless
networking. 1895, Guglielmo Marconi opened the way for modern wireless communications by

Example Of The Emancipation Proclamation
The Emancipation Proclamation
Think back if you were born in the 1800 s and you had to be raised in slavery time and racism was a
huge issue. How could you handle this as a child growing up with your parents struggling to take care
of you or even getting taken away from your parents. The fugitive slave act came around in the 1850 s
which any slave who ran away shall be captured and punished in jail and pay a fine slaves didn t make
enough money to pay fines so they would sit in prison. Slavery was heavily forced in the south
because they were profit. Also officers were given a bonus and promotions for catching slaves. The fee
of trying to escape was 1,000 dollars and 6 months in prison slaves didn t make that type of money to
even pay half of that price.Slaves were treated so foul it was very unhuman like .

Questions On Conflict And Conflict Resolution
Question #1: From Chapter Five s (5) AWARE Conflict and Conflict Resolution, one of the answers
out of all the chapters that students and professionals disagreed the most was: It is important to come
to an agreement at the end of an argument. Professionals agreed that reaching an agreement is NOT
always necessary, while students were undecided but leaned toward supporting an affirmative
response. 1a) Describe your own opinion to this question BEFORE you took the course, It is
important to come to an agreement at the end of an argument. Upon what was your opinion based?
Before I took the course, I have firmly believed there should be some sort of agreement at the end of
an argument. While I believed that sometimes arguments could never end in complete agreement, I
have always thought that you could always agree to disagree. I understand that everyone holds their
own opinions and beliefs and it can be hard to find a way to align your beliefs with others, however
you can peacefully agree to disagree in terms that you respect and hear each other s thoughts and
feelings. No two people can agree on everything, which is why I think that by talking about things that
are important to one another and listening to each other has to say or feel will allow you to come to
terms with your disagreement. On the pre AWARE test I answered that I believed that all arguments
should end in an agreement. I interpreted this statement as being able to both agree to disagree on any

Essay 3 For my last and final essay of this semester I chose to answer questions number five, six and
seven. I simply chose these series of questions due to the fact that I ve had all of the Freud I could
possibly take for one semester. All the questions I ve selected are involving Carl Jung and not
Sigmund Freud. To begin with my essay let s start with question number five which asks to explain
Jung s notion of collective unconscious . I very strongly believe that Jung s concept of collective
unconscious is mainly based on his personal experiences with people who suffer from schizophrenia
which he gained form when he worked with them at the Burgholzli hospital. At first Jung chose to
follow the Freudian theory of unconscious, but later on Jung eventually chose to go down his own
path and decided to develop his own theory on unconscious which would feature totally new concepts.
Most importantly being the archetype. Archetypes constitute the structure of the collective
unconscious, which are the psychic innate dispositions to experience and represent the basic human
behavior and situations. For example, Mother and child relationship which is mainly governed by the
mother archetype. The Father and child relationship is mainly governed by the Father archetype. Birth,
death, power and failure are controlled by archetypes.

Concussions In Youth Hockey
New rules that are implemented resulting in less penalty minutes for aggressive play (Mick). These
rules are extremely important in youth hockey, bantams especially. The bantam age group is the age
most boys start growing and get more muscular and more prone to aggressive play. This can cause
tremendous injury to a player if one does not think before he hits another player. Many of the players
do not understand how dangerous these acts really can be. The human body is not invincible, although
many think they are. The increase of body checking rules has decreased the injuries that usually come
from these hits about three to twelve times lower. Fifteen percent of the injuries resulting from a body
check are concussions (Mick). Concussions are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hockey is a fast paced sport with little time to react or prepare for a hit correctly. The knowledge of
knowing how to take a hit is just as important on how to distribute a hit. Both can cause significant
harm to both players if not done right. The biggest rule to follow when you are about to get hit is to
have a low base. This means to have your knees bent at about ninety or so degrees and to put most of
your weight on the ball of your foot. This way your center of gravity is lower and you have more
balance. This also protects more of your limbs from getting hit. As opposed to standing up with makes
you unbalanced and prone to worse injuries. Another crucial part of the game is how you give a hit.
Many clinics have been set up to show how to properly hit, but boys tend to ignore the rules and just
try to hit someone has hard as they can. This is why during practice during the regular season it should
be practiced on at least once every week or two weeks. But even the knowledge of how to hit and how
to take a hit isn t enough. Proper stretching and strength training has proven to strengthen muscles and
to allow flexibility and decrease injuries (Mick). More players should take advantage of doing a full,
warm up before a game. This decreases chance of injury while also increasing the performance of the

Marina Kunert s Big Bang Theory
Big Bang Theory is a humorous drama based on situations that might arise in day to day life,
otherwise known as a situational comedy. The television show is based on the social lives of four
friends who are professors, and socially classed as Nerds. It is presumptuous on first encounter that
the show will present with all the similarities of the 80 s hit movies Revenge of the Nerds. In fact,
their daily interactions mimic those fashioned as such. They exemplify social awkwardness, sexual
failure and mathematical intelligence, all characteristics of a nerd, discussed in a thesis done by
Marina Kunert (p. 1). The lack of social skills, which often leads to clashes between them and other
people, makes them very interesting people.

Penny being a part of Big Bang Theory brings common sense and social interaction into their
otherwise, socially disconnected environment. The series starts with Penny, the attractive neighbor,
moves in next to the nerds Leonard and Sheldon and immediately becomes a potential love interest for
Leonard. Raj and Howard constantly struggle with girls but express the desire to be in a romantic
relationship. However, they all seem to form a circle of friendship. Idealized images of relationships
can create a more positive image about relationships (Kunert, p. 11). The link between two people can
shift from being friends to being lovers and vice versa. On the Big Bang Theory, Leonard and Penny
become friends first for a long time before becoming lovers. After breaking up they remain friends.
Big Bang Theory has exceeded the expectations of many. It is definitely not what people thought it
was going to be. The four main characters are not the average nerds. While all intelligent in their own
right, their individual personalities are what defines the show. I believe this is how the show maintains
its popularity. Although the very first season did not get great ratings, the show picked up and has
become one of the highest rated on television in the United

Summary Of Babe Ruth
With the way the author, Bryson describes George Ruth s upbringing and the tough hand that Babe
was dealt with at such an early age, it seems as if he painted a fairy tale with happily ever after at the
end. To read and to try and grasp what Babe Ruth was able to achieve, it is the most unbelievable
underdog story that I have ever read. While I was reading, I had the feeling that Bill Bryson believed
that George Ruth was a good person and even coming from such a rough city such as Baltimore. He
even disagreed with what babe said in his autobiography. In the book, Bryson says The opening
sentence of Ruth s autobiography is, I was a bad kid. Which is no more than partly true (Bryson 107).
By just the second sentence in the second paragraph, it is clear that Bryson thought, even since Ruth s
childhood, he is a good kid who was stuck behind the 8 ball. Coming from an impoverished family,
having almost all of his siblings die, losing both his father and mother who were distracted anyway.
His mother slowly dying of tuberculosis and his father single handedly running their saloon during all
of his waking hours just so they could have money to survive (Bryson 107). While reading this initial
background on Babe Ruth, I didn t know just how rough he had it. I assumed like most of the athletes
in today s world, his family was able to pay for him to have baseball lessons and training with some of
the best trainers that money can buy. Knowing that Babe Ruth was the epitome of an

The 792 Drosophila melanogaster mutation is known as guindo. Guindo or guinda is the spanish word
for a deep red wine, burgundy or ox blood color. The phenotypic differences between a WT
D.melanogaster and a 792 MUT differ at their larval, pupal and adult stage. In the larval stage there
was not any significant phenotypic differences noticed, only behavioral differences were apparent.
The wandering MUT larvae had a tendency to clump or travel as a group; while the WT wandered and
scattered individually. At the pupal stage the MUT Drosophila melanogaster had a uniform shape and
size. All of the MUTs seemed to have spiracles. The WT pupa differed in size and shape, and spiracles
were not noticeable in all of them. In the adult stage MUT wings were almost parallel to the body and
close together, compared to the flared out WT wings. The antennae on MUTs also seemed to be larger
than in WT. The mouth was also a noticeable difference, MUTs had a much smaller mouth than WT
did. The most noticeable difference is the eye color and shape. MUTs had a ... Show more content on

How The Huns Affected Rome
On the year of 370, the Huns arrived in what is now called Eastern Europe, they pushed the tribes
called The Vandals and The Visigoths out of Eastern Europe, therefore these two tribes needed a new
home. In 376 the Visigoths crossed the Danube river, a boundary of the Roman empire, and moved
southward. The Visigoths then beat the Romans at the battle of Adrianople, two years later. Which
effected Rome a lot, because Rome already had a lot of enemies waiting to bring them down, the
Visigoths made a path for that. At the west, the Vandals crossed the Rhine river, another boundary of
Rome in 406. The Vandals were known for fighting every city they stumbled upon, even if they won

Systolic Heart Failure With Reduced Ejection Fraction (...
Systolic heart failure: is also known as Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Systolic
HF is defined as an ejection fraction of 40% and an inability of the heart to generate cardiac output
adequate enough to perfuse vital tissues.
Hemodynamic Changes: Contractility is influential in cardiac output and can be compromised due to
myocardial infarction, ischemia, cardiomyopathy, and increased cardiac workload, to name a few.
Inflammatory, immune, and neurohumoral changes can mediate ventricular remodeling, which will
alter myocardial cellular structure resulting in myocardial dilation and further dysfunction of myocyte
contractility over time. The decreased contractility will result decreased stroke volume and increased
left ventricular end diastolic volume, which results in dilation of the heart and increased preload.
Increased afterload can be caused by increased pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR). This can result
from hypertension or aortic valvular disease. The PVR results in resistance to ventricular emptying,
increasing the work load of the LV, thus causing hypertrophy of the myocardium. Sustained elevated
afterload results in pathologic hypertrophy, caused by angiotensin II and catecholamines. The increase
in cardiac muscle mass causes an increase in the heart s oxygen and energy demands. Thus, more
energy from ATP is needed and when demand is greater than supply, cardiac contractility suffers.
Ventricular remodeling continues, further

my fault I distracted my mom. It was my fault the car swerved off the road. It was my fault the car was

confidently at my mom, certain that she wouldn t find it. In between glances at the snowy road ahead,
she scanned the car for the shiny, blue object. She was wearing her favorite Adidas sweatshirt and a

that. She thinks that the rose charm on the necklace represents life, which therefore apparently

The United States Taxation System
A Rather Taxing Matter The United States taxation system has had a longstanding debate regarding
whether or not the taxes implicated on American citizens are justified. In general, the rates that
citizens must pay are both too high for the lower classes to have to pay, and too low for the upper
classes to have to pay. Much of the money collected from taxation goes into causes of less importance
or is not managed correctly by the U.S. government. Among all of the fifty states, there are several
philosophies accepted by each, which leads to a fluctuation in tax rates. American citizens are unfairly
taxed by the U.S. government; therefore, the tax system must undergo a tax reform. The primary goal
of the U.S. tax system is to collect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The essence of Jennings and Zott s argument is that the government brings in sufficient amounts of
money in order to cover its expenses. The amount of money the government spends annually is
roughly two trillion dollars, and they collect roughly the same amount. Individual income taxes are the
government s largest source of revenue; accounting for almost forty two percent of its intake. Social
insurance taxes account for almost forty percent. The money from just two sectors of the tax chart
account for a little over eighty percent of the money that the government collects. The rest is received
through corporate income taxes and other smaller taxes such as the gas tax, sales tax, and cigarette tax.
The middle and lower classes suffer from the unfair tax rates. Studies show that people of the lower
class often pay an average of eleven percent of his or her income to taxes. Those people in the middle
class range pay around ten percent in taxes. The astonishing discovery is that on average, people in the
upper one percent often only pay about six percent of their income to taxes. Through this, one can see
that there is clearly something wrong with the way in which the government taxes American citizens.
The current taxes put a strain on the lower classes; meanwhile, helping the upper classes increase their
wealth.
There is the common argument which refers to the

Generation After Generation, In Different Countries Of
Generation after generation, in different countries of the world, there has always been different styles
of bodily expression. Dance is a special form of art which movement of the body creates. One of the
most delicate types of dance is ballet, a form that evokes great emotion. For Martha Graham, ballet
was not only a dance: it was a way to express a fear or happiness with gestures created by the body.
Scholars have recognized Graham as having made revolutionary changes in dance: in form, subject
matter, and theme. Martha Graham was one of the most influential figures in American modern dance,

Martha knew that practice was the basis of all good dance and, therefore, a fundamental. Graham s
intense belief in practice aided in forming such a unique technique. To practice means to perform, in

perfection desired. (Martha Graham) It is said that Martha worked on her falls for fifty years, and they
grew more beautiful and complex each time she performed them. This technique is not the only one
she worked to perfection. However, it provides a quality example to her devotion to the art of dance.
Graham is considered one of the major and most influential dancers in America. Graham s craving for

emotions changed the dancing world, not only in her style as a dancer, but in her innovative style of

The Ragtime Vs. The Blues
¬Ragtime vs. The Blues
In the city of New Orleans emerged one of the most influential music genres in U.S. history. At the
time, New Orleans was known for being a melting pot of people or rather, a region where people from
all over the world came together in one place. This city served as a key seaport in the U.S. allowing
for goods to be imported and exported. The purpose of this city was not only strategic to the growth of
the country, but also, the atmosphere allowed for the incredible mixing of cultures, customs, and
traditions that led to the creation of one of our nations most cherished genres of music: jazz.
Jazz emerged towards the beginning of the 20th century, but didn t just spring up out of nowhere.
Instead, it was a creation that developed from popular music styles of the 19th century that were
blended and combined to entertain not only the social dancers, but also, the nation as a whole. The two
main music styles that jazz evolved from were ragtime and the blues. Both ragtime and the blues had
their beginnings in African American communities. While both of these music styles strongly
contributed to the creation of jazz and have a lot of similarities, they do have their differences. These
differences lie within their origins, their instruments, the elements of the music styles and how these
elements influenced jazz, and their artists and composers.
First of all, ragtime and the blues are similar in that they both originated in the United States. While

Eating Disorders
Adolescents are especially susceptible to eating disorders because of the development of their self
image around this time of their lives. Bulimia, anorexia and binge eating are all eating disorders that
teenagers suffer from. Results of Anorexia nervosa can prove to be fatal; as the body is starved so are
the muscles. The heart, being a muscle, can consequently begin to weaken, and heart failure will very
likely become a reality. The low levels of sodium, zinc, potassium and calcium, associated with
anorexia can cause unusual heart rhythms. Sudden death caused by electrolyte and mineral disorder
may happen. The blood bone marrow is also interrupted. Anemia is related with the amount of weight
lost and the decreased capability to fight pathogens and infections [ (CDC) ]. Obtaining the accurate
figures, in terms of the prevalence and other facts about eating disorders is difficult. It is not
mandatory for Anorexia Nervosa and Related Eating Disorders (ANRED) to report eating disorders;
this, the secretiveness, and denial of people with eating disorders makes it difficult to obtain an
accurate idea of the prevalence of eating disorders in the U.S.A. According to the National Eating

June, 4th 2015 Abstract
Subliminal messages are messages that are perceived in the unconscious mind that most of the time
we are not aware of. These messages are mainly designed to influence that way we think and feel.
They are used to get people to buy products from their company. Subliminal messages can be
perceived auditory or visually. Subliminal messages should not be legal and should be banned from
being used in advertisement for it can lead to negative results. There should be another way to
advertise that. Doesn t involve manipulating our minds into buying the products.
Subliminal messages are messages that are either auditory or visual which is presented below the
normal limits of perception. An example of a subliminal messages would be that a message might be
inaudible to the conscious mind but may be audible to the unconscious mind, in this case a deeper part
of your mind. Subliminal messages may also be in other cases an image that is unperceived but will be
perceived deeper in your mind. To put in simpler terms, subliminal messages are basically hypnotism
that many companies may use to encourage people to buy the product they re selling.
According to the article The Influence of Subliminal Messages , it states that subliminal messages can

Descriptive Essay On Computer Store
It s 8:59 A.M. on a Saturday, and I am waiting with my dad in his car. It is the only car in the strip
mall parking lot. I am antsy to get my repaired computer back to play games. A small silver car pulls
in next to us and out walks a college aged guy that smells of a stale smoke. My dad hands me some
cash and I walk into the store behind the young guy as he turns on the lights of the computer store.
You come to pick up a computer? the young smoker asks me while he boots up the store s main
computer. He is polite and asks me questions about some of my hobbies; I tell him my fascination
with electronics and how I ve been wanting to build my own computer. I glance around the store and

each other blanketed in a layer of dust. Parts are overflowing from the shelves, making a thin walkable
path throughout the store. Vast amounts of various computer components are scattered on tables, and
there is a stack of desktop computers piled to the ceiling. This store is a messy computer museum! It s
an unorganized chaos, but I am mesmerized. As I am waiting for the man to print my bill, a middle
aged man enters the store and heads straight to a private cubicle with privacy provided by a sheet of
plywood. He is immediately on the phone with an agitated voice with what must be a customer,
creating a sense of discomfort.

Poetry Compare And Contrast Essay
In the history of literature, different aspects are prevalent during the different time periods. The
Victorian poet Gerard Manley Hopkins wrote in the nineteenth century in England, which was a time
when the literature reacted against science. During this era, most people in England believed in God
being the creator. Conversely, Robert Frost is a modern poet that wrote in America during the
twentieth century. He has been described as the purest classical poet of America (Browning and
Cousin 243). Many authors throughout this time period rebelled against religion in their writing. The
poems Pied Beauty by Hopkins and Design by Frost are both characteristic of the time periods in
which the authors wrote them. These two poems have distinguishable similarities and differences, and
the main aspects of these poems that have similarities and differences is their imagery and theme. The
two poems Pied Beauty and Design have many similarities in their imagery. Both of these poems
contain natural imagery in great detail, and the imagery focuses on the unusual things about nature. A
vivid example from Beauty is I found a dimpled spider, fat and white (Frost 1). ¹ This quote describes
the appearance of the spider that is one of the characters that Frost includes in this poem. An example

Hafez received death threats, and revolution seemed inevitable. Finally in 1982, the Muslim
Brotherhood could wait no longer. A government unit sent to Hama was ambushed and killed. That
was the spark. The Islamic forces rose to overthrow the government. And, in one coldly brutal move,
Hafez al Assad leveled half of Hama, slaughtering at least 10,000 residents. (MacFarquhar) Blood ran
freely down the streets of Hama that night, in an all out, take no prisoners battle. By the end, most of

junior high student, Sachiko, with a plethora of problems. Her father has abandoned her and her
mother, who has developed since suicidal tendencies, extreme mood swings and a peculiar taste in
boyfriends. Furthermore, her beloved sixth grade teacher has been forced to retire due to rumors of

Understanding Why Race, Ethnicity And Nativity
4.3 Focused analysis on main ODW
We now focus on understanding why Race, ethnicity and nativity , (i.e., culture), and Household
economic characteristics (i.e., household as an economic agent) are the most well connected
determinant nodes in the ODW network.
The visualization in Figure 6a offers a graphical overview of the ODW network removing the links
that do not directly connect culture determinant. This visualization displays this node high
connectivity within the model (links with 88.89% of other determinants) as a reason behind its main
relevance, leaving out just two nodes, Household type and Occupational standing . Similarly, a black
loop around the node represents the determinant´s own weight (26.54) that renders its number of inner
links adjusted by the amount of binary nodes.
Culture determinant`s incoming (54%) and outgoing (46%) connections afforded for both supportive
and influencing roles in the model, although the supportive role prevailed as the ratio between the
outgoing and incoming (out/in) links was 0.86. This supportive role had likewise been preeminent in
the subset of cyclic relationships established with other nodes by both incoming and outgoing links,
which accounted for 76.92% of the culture node s connections, as the out/in link weight ratio
remained below the unit for all the cases (0.14 in average).
Culture stronger cyclic relationships stood with the nodes of household geographic characteristics and
economy . With statistically

Taga Biome Research Paper
If someone is looking for a magical adventure to a winter wonderland, point them north in the
direction of the wonderful biome, the Taiga! There is an opportunity to travel the world as the taiga
stands as the largest land biome in the world; locations include Canada, Alaska, Sweden, Finland,
Norway, Russia, and many more countries. Also known as the boreal forest, the taiga is home to a
variety of plant and animal life for an adventurer to experience. These areas experience half of the
year in the summer and winter seasons; depending on the season, it has a moderate amount of
precipitation and warm or freezing temperatures. The taiga biome, located at fifty and sixty degrees
north, holds a wide variety of plants and animals with many adaptations to survive the cold climate
and a moderate amount of precipitation.
Describing the Boreal Forest, one would say it is frigid and rainy, and which occurs because of the
cold climate and modest quantity of precipitation. The two main seasons are winter and summer, being
that around half of the year is spent in each. Autumn and spring come around for a very brief period of
time, but before a blink of an eye winter and summer are back in full force. Summer temperatures can
reach up to twenty one degrees Celsius and drop as low as negative seven degrees. These temperatures
leave the biome humid and warm for the summer months. While in the winter the high stands at
negative one degree, the low can drop to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Interactive Model Of Product Development
Introduction:
In design and fabrication of metallic equipment and structures, often weight saving is often used to
improve efficiency in in service performance of the item. This paper will explore the interactive model
of product development, which includes the important of: the uses of alternative materials on the
design, fabrication and in service behaviour of the item in order to provide awareness of how issue of
the underlying principles of each of these weight saving alternatives and the advantages to be gained,
using the benchmark grade 350 steel.
Grade 350 steel
In general, the strength of a steel is controlled by its microstructure which changes according to its
chemical composition, its thermal background and the deformation processes it undergoes during its
production schedule. Hence, different steels will have different strengths and most nations measure its
strengths by a national standard. According to engineers Australia, Australia grades their steel
according to their yield strength, thus the value of applied stress at which permanent deformation
occurs, in smooth lab specimen. (Engineering austraila,2008 ).So, a grade 350 means yield strength of
350 Mpa. We typically uses a 350 grade which is classified as a medium steel to design bridges, high
rise building, storage tanks, structural members and general fabrication. This medium strength
structural steel is excellent of weldability, good formability and guaranteed minimum strength levels.

I think it would be hard to figure out what to put in a time capsule in the year 1915, but it did give a looking glass to the year 2017 about what was used before all the technology and new gadgets. For me, fashion, FADS, and technology would best describe what life was like in the 2000 s. To best describe what our generation was like fashion, technology, and FADS should be placed in a time capsule. For example, one of the fashion trends in 2016 mostly names brands. By just the second sentence in the second paragraph, it is clear that Bryson thought, even since Ruth s childhood, he is a good kid who was stuck behind the 8 ball. Coming from an impoverished family, having almost all of his siblings die, losing both his father and mother who were distracted anyway. His mother slowly dying of tuberculosis and his father single handedly running their saloon during all of his waking hours just so they could have money to survive (Bryson 107). While reading this initial background on Babe Ruth, I didn t know just how rough he had it. I assumed like most of the athletes in today s world, his family was able to pay for him to have baseball lessons and training with some of the best trainers that money can buy. The phenotypic differences between a WT D.melanogaster and a 792 MUT differ at their larval, pupal and adult stage. In the larval stage there was not any significant phenotypic differences noticed, only behavioral differences were apparent. The wandering MUT larvae had a tendency to clump or travel as a group; while the WT wandered and scattered individually. At the pupal stage the MUT Drosophila melanogaster had a uniform shape and size. All of the MUTs seemed to have spiracles. The WT pupa differed in size and shape, and spiracles were not noticeable in all of them. In the adult stage MUT wings were almost parallel to the body and close together, compared to the flared out WT wings. The antennae on MUTs also seemed to be larger than in WT. • 29. Systolic Heart Failure With Reduced Ejection Fraction (... Systolic heart failure: is also known as Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Systolic HF is defined as an ejection fraction of 40% and an inability of the heart to generate cardiac output adequate enough to perfuse vital tissues. Hemodynamic Changes: Contractility is influential in cardiac output and can be compromised due to myocardial infarction, ischemia, cardiomyopathy, and increased cardiac workload, to name a few. Inflammatory, immune, and neurohumoral changes can mediate ventricular remodeling, which will alter myocardial cellular structure resulting in myocardial dilation and further dysfunction of myocyte contractility over time. The decreased contractility will result decreased stroke volume and increased left ventricular end diastolic volume, which results in dilation of the heart and increased preload. Increased afterload can be caused by increased pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR). This can result from hypertension or aortic valvular disease. The PVR results in resistance to ventricular emptying, increasing the work load of the LV, thus causing hypertrophy of the myocardium. Sustained elevated afterload results in pathologic hypertrophy, caused by angiotensin II and catecholamines. The increase in cardiac muscle mass causes an increase in the heart s oxygen and energy demands. Thus, more energy from ATP is needed and when demand is greater than supply, cardiac contractility suffers. Ventricular remodeling continues, further ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In general, the rates that citizens must pay are both too high for the lower classes to have to pay, and too low for the upper classes to have to pay. Much of the money collected from taxation goes into causes of less importance or is not managed correctly by the U.S. government. Among all of the fifty states, there are several philosophies accepted by each, which leads to a fluctuation in tax rates. The money from just two sectors of the tax chart account for a little over eighty percent of the money that the government collects. The rest is received through corporate income taxes and other smaller taxes such as the gas tax, sales tax, and cigarette tax. The middle and lower classes suffer from the unfair tax rates. Instead, it was a creation that developed from popular music styles of the 19th century that were blended and combined to entertain not only the social dancers, but also, the nation as a whole. The two main music styles that jazz evolved from were ragtime and the blues. Both ragtime and the blues had their beginnings in African American communities. The visualization in Figure 6a offers a graphical overview of the ODW network removing the links that do not directly connect culture determinant. This visualization displays this node high connectivity within the model (links with 88.89% of other determinants) as a reason behind its main relevance, leaving out just two nodes, Household type and Occupational standing . Also known as the boreal forest, the taiga is home to a variety of plant and animal life for an adventurer to experience. These areas experience half of the year in the summer and winter seasons; depending on the season, it has a moderate amount of precipitation and warm or freezing temperatures. The taiga biome, located at fifty and sixty degrees north, holds a wide variety of plants and animals with many adaptations to survive the cold climate and a moderate amount of precipitation. Describing the Boreal Forest, one would say it is frigid and rainy, and which occurs because of the cold climate and modest quantity of precipitation. The two main seasons are winter and summer, being that around half of the year is spent in each. Autumn and spring come around for a very brief period of time, but before a blink of an eye winter and summer are back in full force. Summer temperatures can reach up to twenty one degrees Celsius and drop as low as negative seven degrees. These temperatures leave the biome humid and warm for the summer months. While in the winter the high stands at negative one degree, the low can drop to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This biome is home to a diverse collection of plants and animals in spite of the cold temperatures, slow decomposition rates, and moderate precipitation that is found there. For of those reasons, the animals and plants exhibit a wide variety of adaptations that allow them to survive the seasons of the boreal forest. The taiga biome, the largest land biome in the world, fills the definition of the winter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Interactive Model Of Product Development Introduction: In design and fabrication of metallic equipment and structures, often weight saving is often used to improve efficiency in in service performance of the item. This paper will explore the interactive model of product development, which includes the important of: the uses of alternative materials on the design, fabrication and in service behaviour of the item in order to provide awareness of how issue of the underlying principles of each of these weight saving alternatives and the advantages to be gained, using the benchmark grade 350 steel. Grade 350 steel In general, the strength of a steel is controlled by its microstructure which changes according to its chemical composition, its thermal background and the deformation processes it undergoes during its production schedule. Hence, different steels will have different strengths and most nations measure its strengths by a national standard. According to engineers Australia, Australia grades their steel according to their yield strength, thus the value of applied stress at which permanent deformation occurs, in smooth lab specimen. (Engineering austraila,2008 ).So, a grade 350 means yield strength of 350 Mpa. We typically uses a 350 grade which is classified as a medium steel to design bridges, high rise building, storage tanks, structural members and general fabrication. This medium strength structural steel is excellent of weldability, good formability and guaranteed minimum strength levels. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
