[I−], mol L 1 | [S2O82−], mol L 1 | Initial rate, mol L 1 min 1 | 0.125 | 0.150 | 0.0045 | 0.375 | 0.150 |

Comparing the first and second experiments, we see that if [I ] is tripled, the rate triples. Therefore the
reaction is first order in [I ].
Comparing the first and third experiments, we see that if [S2O8 2] is tripled, the rate also triples.
Therefore the reaction is also first order in [I ].
The rate law is therefore rate = k[I ][S2O8 2], overall order is second order. (b) Calculate the rate
constant (with the correct units) for this reaction. [2]
Using the first experiment (we could use any of the three), we have:

The Relativity Of Deviance And The Sociological Theory
The Relativity of Deviance Deviance in sociological terms can be defined as any form of deviation
from the social norms, or laws. Additionally, deviance is considered relative, as in what constitutes as
deviant varies from person to person. Howard S. Becker, an American sociologist and researcher of
deviancy once stated, It s not the act itself, but the reactions to the act, that makes something deviant
(Becker/Henslin 1966). In other words, any action or behavior that draws a reaction out of someone
could theoretically be a deviant act. However, Becker wasn t the first sociologist fascinated with
deviancy, nor will he be the last. Since the late eighteen hundreds sociologists have gained a
considerable perspective regarding deviancy, consequently coming up with three primary theories
explaining its significance and function. Sociologist Émile Durkheim explained deviance through a
functionalist approach. Durkheim explains that, deviance has several functions, it clarifies norms and
increases conformity and it strengthens bonds among the people reacting to the deviant (Barkan 2017).
The side effect of this a marginalization of those whose economic or cultural backgrounds don t
coincide with the majority. Sociologist Robert Merton states that the result of deviance among the
underprivileged is the result of a gap between the cultural emphasis on economic success and the
inability to achieve such success (Merton 1938). As a result, a

Tyto Alba s Diet Analysis
Discussion:
After 24 (1992 2016) years 2,176 pellets were analysed by the students at the County College of
Morris. Additionally, on average each pellet contained 2.6 prey equating to an average of 963 prey
discovered in owl pellets per year (Table 1). After the analysis of the pellets it was discovered that the
Tyto alba consumed a wide spectrum prey, primarily rodents. A total of six prey species were
discovered. The Microtus commonly known as voles were the most abundant prey in the Tyto alba s
diet. Three thousand six hundred and twenty three remains of the Microtus were identified in pellets
that were analysed with a relative abundance of 64.2%. Microtus is most abundant in temperate and
tropical regions, a common habitat for the Tyto ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, there were factors that had a negative impact on the study such as the misidentification of
prey. The remains of the consumed prey were small and very fragile which made them prone to
breakage. Additionally, before the pellets were transported to the County College of Morris for
analysis, they were stored and preserved in a lab at the Carolina Biological Supply Company. This
made it difficult to figure out if the prey composite was the Tyto alba s year round diet or if the
dominant species that were consumed depended on the season. In the future the time between when
the owl pellets are gathered to when they are analyzed should be reduce to give a more accurate data

Essay Lactose Intolerance
Lactose Intolerance Lactose intolerance is the inability to digest significant amounts of lactose, the
predominant sugar of milk. This inability results from a shortage of the enzyme lactase, which is
normally produced by the cells that line the small intestine. Lactase breaks down milk sugar into
simpler forms that can then be absorbed into the bloodstream. When there is not enough lactase to
digest the amount of lactose consumed, the results, although not usually dangerous, may be very
distressing. While not all persons deficient in lactase have symptoms, those who do are considered to
be lactose intolerant.
The symptoms listed below are caused by the fermentation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Persons who suffer from lactase deficiency and do not avoid lactose may suffer from weight loss and
malnutrition.
The severity of symptoms varies depending on the amount of lactose each individual can tolerate.
Some of the symptoms may be similar to those of milk allergy but milk allergies can cause the body to
react quicker, more often within a few minutes.
Common symptoms include nausea, cramps, bloating, gas, and diarrhoea, which begin about 30
minutes to 2 hours after eating or drinking foods containing lactose. The severity of symptoms varies
depending on the amount of lactose each individual can tolerate.
Some causes of lactose intolerance are well known. For instance, certain digestive diseases and
injuries to the small intestine can reduce the amount of enzymes produced. In rare cases, children are
born without the ability to produce lactase. For most people, though, lactase deficiency is a condition
that develops naturally over time. After about the age of 2 years, the body begins to produce less
lactase. However, many people may not experience symptoms until they are much older.
How is lactose intolerance diagnosed?
The most common tests used to measure the absorption of lactose in the digestive system are the
lactose tolerance test, the hydrogen breath test, and the

Female Circumcision Essay
Female Genital Circumcision Female genital circumcision (FGC) is a cultural ritual that is performed
to the vast majority of women within the countries of Sudan, Kenya, Mali, Benin, Togo, and parts of
the Middle East. Female genital circumcision also termed as female genital mutilation is used based
upon a person s beliefs. This ritual has been highly controversial for many years especially in the
western society, due to the health risks that women may have to go through. Doctor Gruenbaum, and
anthropologist who studied FGC in Sudan, has researched this topic and believes that outsiders need
to have an open mind about diverse cultures. I believe that this procedure should not be illegal;
however, education about the risks of the procedure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The practice of female genital circumcision is also shown in other cultures in different parts of the
world. It is highly concentrated in North of Africa; however, it has existed also in Middle Eastern
countries and some parts of Asia. Some of the Middle Eastern countries that practice FGC are Yemen,
Oman, Iraqi Kurdistan, amongst some Bedouin women in Israel, and was also practiced by the
Ethiopian Jews. It is unclear whether they continue with the practice now that they are settled in Israel.
FGC is also practiced among Bohra Muslim populations in parts of India and Pakistan, and amongst
Muslim populations in Malaysia and Indonesia (FORWARD). There are different types are Female
Genital Circumcision; mostly it is put in one category by an outsider. Dr. Greunbaum in her book, The
Female Circumcision Controversy: An Anthropological Perspective, states that FGC cannot be
generalized but it can be differentiated and grouped. Every cultural group performs this sacred ritual in
a different way. Historically, FGC is believed to have originated from Ethiopia or Egypt, FGC was
practiced by Ethiopians, Phoenicians, Hittites (Taba, 1979) and may have spread to other parts of
Africa. WHO has categorized FGC in four different categories: Type one is known as clitoridectomy,

Rewrite a fairy tale from the perspective of one of the minor character in the story.
Once upon a time, there was a little house that lived in the forest not too far from the king s castle.
Hello, my name is Anna one of Cinderella s stepsisters and my other sister is Rose. You must have
heard that in the store of Cinderella that we are the evil stepsisters in the story. Well now I am going to
write a story about how nice we are and that we are not evil. One day Cinderella s father had passed
and my beautiful mother brought her into our house to do some chores around the house. So,
Cinderella got to work on the chores, making dinner for my mother and me and my sister. We saved
some for Cinderella while she was cleaning up she was eating the food that she made. One day we all
got an invention to the prince s ball tomorrow night. So that day we went out to shop for some ball
gown dresses. The night of the prince s ball we all got ready to go meet the prince so that he can pick
out a bride for himself and we all were so excited. The mother told Cinderella to stay home and finish
up the chores for when we get back from the ball. So, I and mother and Rose left for the ball leaving
Cinderella at home to work on the chores. When we all got to the ball there was a lot of people there
for the prince s ball, but I went up to talk with the prince and maybe dance with him, but all of sudden
everyone looked and there was a beautiful princess walking down to the floor. The prince

Sport and Manliness in Antebellum America
I do not accept the thesis that American men living in cities before the Civil War engaged in sport
primarily to define themselves, publicly, as manly. I would accept this thesis if it had stated that men
living in cities before the Civil War engaged in sports to define themselves, publicly, and manly. The
word that made me disagree with the original thesis is the word primarily . I am not stating that men
did not engage in sport to define themselves, publicly, as manly, but I do not think that it is the
primary reason. I would have also accepted this thesis if it had stated that men living in cities before
the Civil War engaged in prize fighting primarily to define themselves, publicly, as manly.
Prizefighting is a sport but it does not provide the standard for all sports. I will use excerpts from the
various sources we have read in class in order to defend my position. What is the purpose of sport?
The answer to this question has many different answers for the many different types of people. For
some people sport is a source means of entertainment, for others it is source of exercise and recreation.
It can be another opportunity for someone to gamble or it can be a way to make new friends and enjoy
other peoples company. In some sports, like prize fighting and wrestling, men can exhibit their
manliness or superiority through competition but there were and still are many more sports than
simply prize fighting and wrestling. Since the beginning of the Americas, the

According To The New American Standard Bible Exodus
Breaking news! A man named Moses just experienced a life change event. He claims that God came to
him through a burning bush. Moses stated after this miraculous event to a reporter near Mount Horeb,
There was an angle in the distance coming from a flaming bush that was not being consumed. He was
astonished by this and decided that he must go over and experience this event. Moses also said, It was
God. He called me to remove my sandals for it was holy ground. According to the New American

of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Not only has God amazed many around the world through this burning

Deprivation In Middle School
Holding a grudge against someone would sometimes make situations worse than they already are.
In middle school, I had a friend who did not have a lot of materialistic things everyone else had,
clothes, shoes or jewelry, a fancy cell phone. Sometimes you would see her wearing the same shirts. A
lot of people would say she used to steal from friends or clothing stores or from grocery stores, in
general, I would have to say this lesson taught me a lot. You never know what someone is going
through. it is better to forget than to forgive well I beg to differ. On the first day of school Michele sat
beside me in Economics class I noticed she did not have any of her things. No books, pencils, pens, a
notepad, she just did not have anything it was just her. In my head, I started thinking oh she s one of
those students that comes to class unprepared and expects to copy off everyone s paper well she was
not copying off mine. Class started and she asked for a pencil, I was going to give her one of my
mechanical pencils but I knew I was not going to get it back so I gave her one of those wooden pencils
that no one uses they were just sitting in my pencil pouch taking up space anyway so why not? To my
surprise, she did her work but she never turned it in for some strange odd reason though. We were
doing a group assignment but we were required to have our own answers I would check her answers
from time to time and they were all correct, one day the teacher pulled me aside and asked

Critical Analysis Of The Clash Of Civilization
In The Clash of Civilization, Samuel P. Huntington argues that globalization has united cultures that
were normally very withdrawn. It has increased contact between these cultures, which then led to an
increase in misunderstanding, resentment, and eventually conflict. Huntington also hypothesizes that
the leading factor of conflict in the 21st century will be the differences between cultures. This will
eventually result in the change of dominance within civilizations to different civilizations. Lastly, he
also predicts that the West, Arab nations, such as Saudi Arabia, and China will also have and an
increase in cultural conflict with one another.
Huntington then goes on to hypothesize that the ultimate source of conflict in this world will not only
be ideological or economical but the division between human kind will mostly take place because of
the cultural conflict. He says that The clash of civilizations will dominate global politics. The fault
lines between civilizations will be the battle lines of the future. (82). In order to have a better and
concise understanding of Huntington s Clash of Civilizations? it is necessary to understand the
strengths of his argument. The strengths in his argument are well portrayed through his division of the
world in eight different civilizations and also through his explanation of why there is conflict between
cultures. Also, he portrays that cultural issues tend to be more complicated to resolve than political
dilemmas. These

Tay Sachs disease is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder, which means it can be passed down
parents genes and is located on a non sex chromosome. The form ,ost discussed is known as infantile
Tay Sachs disease, the symptoms of which are the deterioration of mental and physical abilities, which
starts affecting children at six months old and normally results in death by the age of four. It is caused
by a genetic defect in a single gene with one defective copy of that gene inherited from each parent.

Heritable traits are known to be passed from one generation to the next by DNA. This is a molecule
that encodes genetic information. DNA is a long polymere with four types of interchangeable bases.
The sequence of bases along a particular DNA molecule encodes the genetic information. Before a
cell goes through mitosis and divides, the DNA is copied, so each of the two cells will inherit the DNA
sequence. A portion of a DNA molecule that specifies a single functional unit is called a gene. Within
cells, the long strands of DNA form condensed structures called chromosomes. The mutation for Tay

Definition of Graphic Design Graphic design is well known as visual communication where there is a
combination of the art and practice of planning and projecting ideas and experiences with visual and
textual content. The production encompasses identity, publication, advertisements, website graphics
and product packaging (Cezzar, n.d.). According to Jessica Helfand, an American designer, author and
educator, had a definition about graphic design as the following:
Graphic design is a visual language uniting harmony and balance, color and light, scale and tension,
form and content. But it is also an idiomatic language, a language of cues and puns and symbols and
allusions, of cultural references and perceptual inferences and that challenge both the intellect and the
eye (Helfand, cited in Shaughnessy, 2008) In other words, it could be said that graphic design helps to
form the unique identity of specific subjects. From Helfand s perspective, graphic design is not only
aesthetic and communicative territory, but also a language in visual and idiomatic that graphic
designers are required to learn through education and experience. ii. What does a graphic designer do

Essay On The Great Chicago Fire
The Great Chicago Fire was one of the significant devastation that happened in the eighteenth century.
Through this tragic event, hundreds of people died and thousands of buildings were completely
destroyed in the fire. Before, the city was flourishing as more people traveled and decided to call
Chicago their home. After the fire destroyed most of the surrounding area, people began blaming one
another for the deaths of all the people. As time passed, Chicago slowly began to rebuild like never
before. Although the city of Chicago continued to grow before the fire, after, the city boomed with the
abundance of money and people. Moreover, because there was destruction, the people of Chicago,
Illinois did not allow a fire to stop them from creating more opportunities for the future. The city has
changed from the fire, but because of the help that was received, it was able to get rebuilt, and invite
new individuals to explore the wondrous city of Chicago. Before the fire destroyed over half of the
area, Chicago was overflowing with history on how this area became a city. In addition, the first

1.Definition:
Landslide is the general term used to describe the down slope movement of soil, rock, and other earth
materials under the effects of gravity and also the landform that results from such movement.
2.Occurrence of Landslides. Landslides can occur virtually anywhere in the world, where climate,
precipitation, bedrock and soil conditions and slopes are susceptible to failure. Landslides can occur
under water too, along continental slopes and deep sea fans. Landslide can occur in bedrock or on
soils; agricultural lands, barren slopes and forests. Both extremely dry areas and very humid areas can
be affected by slope failures. Thus, steep slopes are not a necessary prerequisite for landslides to
occur. In some cases, gentle slopes as shallow as 1 2 degrees have been observed to fail. However
steep slopes are more prone to landslides. So, majority of land slides are associated with hilly and
mountainous areas. They also commonly occur along steeply sloping coastlines and river valleys.
3.Causes of Landslides: Often more than one factor contributes to landslides that include geology

This was the first century that the land was ruled by its own dynasty. During this time Yemen was able

Evolution Of Ballet Research Paper
The Evolution of Ballet
How has ballet evolved since popularized during the Italian Renaissance? Going back to preschool, I
have loved to dance. Ballet was the first style I learned, and it made me fall in love with dance. My
instructor this year often talks about what ballet was like when he danced (in the 1970s,) and also
before then. One day, he explained to my class how girls used to dance on their toes before pointe
shoes were invented. I found it fascinating, so I decided to research more about it after class. As I was
looking up the history of the pointe shoe, I came across some websites that explained the history of
ballet and where it originated. Even after having danced for eleven years, I realized there is so much
that I do not know about it. There is more to ballet than going to class and doing performances. Just as
in any sport or hobby, it helps to know how it first started and how it has evolved. To improve at

Catherine de Medici was born in Italy during the Italian Renaissance. Her family was a patron of the
arts, which is how she became acquainted with ballet. The ballet at this time was called Ballet de
Cour, or court ballet. During this time only boys danced, but Medici still loved to watch. When she

Theme Of Unnatural Trust In King Lear
The utter chaos of family relations under times of intense stress can be depicted in Shakespeare s
tragedy, King Lear . The inexplicability of love, and the murderous consequences of love s absence
leaves characters altered, a controversial dilemma that arouses the decision whether to pronounce

Many of the eye opening scenes associated in King Lear come from the asinine judgement of
character s propositions and explanations. Therefor, opinions, and mere words, like swords are
weapons with the extreme ability to execute or kill. For example, Gloucester goes into a bellicose,
unreasonable rage intended for his son, Edgar, after being handed a letter with supposed foul play: O
villain, villain! His very opinion in the letter!/abhorred villain; unnatural, detested, brutish villain
(1.1.71 72). Of course, we as the reader understand the letter is forged by Edmund in a ploy for Edgar
s inheritance. Nevertheless, the sudden explosion of rage allows Edmund to continuously manipulate
his father, using Gloucester s emotions for his legitimate son to dominate his scheme. The abuse of
such rage also reflects Goneril s and Regan s constant diminution of Lear s retinue. With the lack of
knights, constant disrespect, and banishment of even his most respected comrades, Lear is left to self
pity and lack of preservation by his careless daughters. As readers, we must acknowledge the
merciless background intent we receive from Goneril, Regan and

Delta Air Flow Analysis
Abstract: Throughout history, human beings have been astonished by the concept of flight. In the
modern world, planes, helicopters and other aircrafts have been engineered to fulfil this perception,
allowing people to travel around the world in easy. However, just like cars and trains, planes are also
prone to accidents influenced by bad weather conditions. The information below describes how a
thunderstorm and wind shear affected Delta fight 191 in 1985. Which will provide the physics behind
the accident and the weather system and create recommendations to help limit these types of air
accidents. Introduction/ background: The concept of flight follows basic physics principles includes

Diagram shows the four forces in flight. This diagram will be further explained throughout the
analysis of the different forces and how bad weather affects them (hall, 2015). The diagram displays
that weight is the opposing force of lift and is dependent on the mass of all the airplane parts, plus the
amount of fuel and any payload on board such as people, baggage and so on (Woodford, Chris,
2009/2017). Weight is also a continuous downward force that planes must constantly overcome to stay
in the air by generating enough lift to overcome gravity. As the airplane moves through the air, there
are other aerodynamic forces present such as thrust and drag. According to Real World Physics
Problems (2009), Thrust is the force that moves the airplane forward which is generated by an engine
creating the backward force allowing the plane to move

The Pros And Cons Of Self Driving Jobs
Although in some respects self driving cars would cause an increase in unemployment but generally
where jobs are lots, even more are created. The software for autonomous cars has to be very complex
to allow it to navigate the roads while at the same time remaining safe for the driver, other motorists
and pedestrians. This means many new jobs will be created within the software development market.
On top of this there is much competition for the race to build autonomous cars, over 33 corporations
are pushing to create a safe and functional autonomous vehicle, some of these companies include:
Google, Tesla, Apple, Audi, Bosch and General Motors. This healthy competition between companies

International Marketing Assignments
INTERNATIONAL MARKETING:
International marketing is the application of marketing principles to more than one country. The
intersection is the result of the process of internationalization. Many American and European authors
see international marketing as a simple extension of exporting, whereby the marketing mix is simply
adapted in some way to take into account differences in consumers and segments. It then follows that
global marketing takes a more standardized approach to world markets and focuses upon sameness, in
other words the similarities in consumers and segments. International market goes beyond export

In Beowulf, both Hrothgar, king of the Spear Danes, and Beowulf, the Geatish hero are attributed in
their society as kings. These two characters role in their society is a major focus. Both Beowulf and
Hrothgar have ruled as king effectively. Beowulf and Hrothgar s job performances and understanding
of their duties, responsibilities, and privileges differ. Hrothgar, a legendary Danish king, clearly
comprehends his responsibility to protect his country and its people. Beowulf, a previous Geatish hero
who has recently been inaugurated as king, is unsure of what his duties are. During the story, Beowulf
transforms from a great warrior to a king. This maturation involves more than just physical strength.

Straight Hair Styling first originated towards the very end of the 19th century and ever since it has
evolved in leaps and bounds. The smooth, uniform texture provides one with a distinct advantage in
looking pretty. Class can be effortlessly associated with this form of styling owing to the shine it
naturally exhibits due to the flat surface of the hair. Let s have a look at 5 viable experiments that can
be implemented on straight hair by taking into consideration various face shapes.

Women with large foreheads can resort to this style in order to hide the extra margins, but with the
assistance of a straight haircut of medium length. The length can vary from person to person in
accordance with different face shapes.
Melted Shag
Another trendy style popular among women is the melted shag which is applicable for women with
long straight hairstyles. If the entire stretch of hair is demarcated into three quarters, the entire stretch
till the bottom (third) quarter is to remain plain and smooth. The third quarter is improvised by
effective ironing to give it a distinguished look and texture. The smoothness can be maintained by
carefully catering to all sections of the hair while straightening and is the most advisable for women
with round faces.
Round Layers
One might complain of hair falling on the face, especially the ones with straight hair. In order to avoid
this, round layers ensure that the front layers remain relatively short with it extending towards the
back. Styling agents are to be used in order to ensure the same and effective ironing has to be resorted
to for proper smoothening. Optimum levels of heat treatment are also advisable for relevant
enhancement of the same. Mainly women having a wide face shape can opt for this hairstyle in order

Jazz historiography
The rapid development of jazz in both the United States and Europe generated a number of diverse
musical expressions, including musics that most listeners today would not recognize as jazz music. In
order to remedy this situation, jazz musicians and critics after 1930 began to codify what real jazz
encompassed, and more importantly, what real jazz did not encompass. This construction of
authenticity, often demarcated along racial lines, served to relegate several artists and styles (those
outside a mainstream to the margins of historiography.
The issue of race is central to all discourses of jazz. Alongside race goes the problem of

issue of authenticity.
What constitutes real (authentic) jazz and who are jazz s authentic players? For that matter, what are

While jazz might be an African American music, it is still often viewed as being uniquely
American. Europeans, in turn, are more authentic than other ethnic sub groups, like
Roma, or other nationalities. These notions of authenticity were some of the most influential factors in
the shaping of jazz discourse. Pedigree, whether real or assumed,

Taking a Look at Mergers and Acquisitions
Chapter 2: The second chapter of the report will focus on the literature review, whereby there will be a
critical analysis of previous research literature on M A. Literature Review The literature review looks
at the motives of (M A) with previous companies. In addition to this, previous studies will be looked
at to investigate the benefits of previous companies acquiring other companies to increase their market
capital. Literature on theories of M A shows that the motives of companies incorporates M A ,are
gaining operating and financial synergy, diversification gaining economic of scale, increasing the
market power and the increase of shareholders values. Mergers and Acquisition A profitable business
mix, seeing that explained by IFRS 3, is usually a transaction or occasion where a great acquirer gets

things to do, and property that is certainly competent at getting carried out and maintained for the
purpose of delivering any return on to traders, managers, owners or participants (C. Ferrer and Tang,

increase the scale of their company by extending their market growth in order to enter new markets.
The reasons companies engage in M A can be that it integrate the transaction to maximise shareholder
value. This reflects on companies pursuing an acquisition if it creates value and

Culpable Control Model Case Study
Support for the Culpable Control Model. Prior to the advancement of the culpable control model,
Alicke (1994) conducted two studies to investigate whether extralegal dispositional information about
a defendant would influence blame attributions and judgments of causality. Defendants were
categorized as either socially attractive (i.e., a good, responsible person) or socially unattractive (i.e.,
an irresponsible, unsympathetic, reckless person). In both studies, characteristics of the defendant
influenced blame. More specifically, participants were significantly more likely to blame the socially
unattractive defendant when compared to the socially attractive defendant. Importantly, the

Although researchers have highlighted the potential application of the culpable control model in
examining juror bias (e.g., Nadelhoffer, 2006), results are limited. First, important aspects of the
model have been overlooked. Even though spontaneous evaluations are a central tenet of the culpable
control model, many studies have not measured them directly (e.g., Alicke, 1994; Alicke Zell, 2009;
Mazzocco, Alicke, Davis, 2004). Second, the generalizability of the model is restricted. According to
Alicke (2000), extralegal factors, such as social category, gender, race, or reputation, may trigger
negative spontaneous evaluations; however, researchers have primarily focused on social
attractiveness (e.g., Alicke, 1994; Alicke Zell, 2009). Finally, most of the research has been conducted
by Alicke and colleagues (e.g., Alicke, 1994; Alicke, Buckingham, Zell, Davis, 2008; Alicke Zell,
2009; Mazzocco, Alicke, Davis, 2004). The current proposal seeks to address some of these gaps in
the research and expand the culpable control model by (1) directly measuring negative spontaneous
evaluations and (2) examining weight as an extralegal factor, which has yet to be investigated within
the framework of the culpable control

Tay-Sachs Disease
Description Tay Sachs disease, (also known as GM2 gangliosidosis or hexosaminidase A deficiency),
is a fatal autosomal recessive genetic disorder caused by insufficient activity of the enzyme beta
hexosaminidase A. It is very rare, found more prevalently among certain populations, like those with
Eastern European, (Ashkenazi Jewish) heritage (Bethesda, 2014), and usually results in death by the
age of four. The purpose of this essay is to illustrate the pathology and inheritance patterns of this
genetic disorder, and provide the molecular base, prognosis, and possible treatments. The specific
enzyme beta hexosaminidase A is responsible for catalyzing the biodegradation of acidic fatty material
in the brain and spinal cord known as gangliosides. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Warren Tay, an English physician who first described the symptomatic cherry red eye in 1881
(Edelson, 1997). Research later in the 20th century illustrated that Tay Sachs disease is a genetic
disorder caused by a mutation in the HEXA gene on chromosome 15. Many other HEXA mutations
have been discovered since then, including different mutations within different populations. Being an
autosomal recessive disorder, for an individual to exhibit symptoms it is required to have two Tay
Sachs alleles affected, meaning that when both parents are carriers, the offspring have a 25% of being
affected. This disease has shown to be prevalent in certain populations in recent years. Those of
Ashkenazi Jewish descent are one of these populations, being more prone to the infantile form of Tay
Sachs disease, caused by a base pair insertion leading to the mutation. More research has led us to
believe that compound heterozygosity is ultimately responsible for the disease s variability among
different populations. Those who are heterozygous carriers tend to exhibit abnormal enzyme activity
but never show true disease symptoms. This is due to the dominance phenomenon, and with Tay Sachs
being recessive autosomal, it requires

Indentured Servant In Colonial America
A person under contract to work for another person for a definite period of time, usually without pay
but in exchange for free passage to a new country is known as an indentured servant. The servant
would become a free man after their debt was paid off. The indentured servant played an important
role in the American labor scene from the early seventeenth century to the third decade of the
nineteenth century (Heavner 1). Many regions of colonial America had issues with obtaining a big
enough labor supply to get work done. Indentured servitude was an initial solution to this problem

The World Of Convection, Conduction, And Radiation
The World of Convection, Conduction, and Radiation In our physical world, there are a multitude of
phenomenon that occur daily that we experience that often go unnoticed. It contains a vast array of
conceptual applications and the equations applied to them in order to better explain and calculate the
phenomenon involved. In a normal occurrence an individual can explain and calculate certain aspects
of movement and processes that are also involved with it. When dealing with the transferring of heat
and various process related to heat, the terms convection, conduction and radiation are frequently
discussed thoroughly. The overall field of thermodynamics involves the study of thermal processes in
physical systems. Some terms involved with these particular concepts include: closed system,
empirical law, free energy, joule s law, specific, temperature, and thermodynamics. The general
defined term of convection is the heat transfer by mass motion of a fluid such as air or water when the
heated fluid is caused to move away from the source of heat, carrying energy with it (Georgia State
University). In the world of physics, the term conduction is usually defined as a form of heat transfer
by the way of molecular tension inside an object or material that does not show any individual motion
in its entirety (Georgia State University). Radiation by means of physics related terms is defined as the
emission or transmission of energy in the form of waves or particles through a

Elasticity Of Demand And Supply
Elasticity of Demand and Supply
INTRODUCTION:
Elasticity : In Economics, how responsive an economic variable is to a change in another is the
measurement of elasticity. It is an unit free measure. By using Elasticities, we can measure the two
markets of price and quantity. The difference among markets can be quantified by the economist using
elasticities without the measurement of the units. It is the responsiveness of one variable (demand or
supply) to a change in another (e.g. cost). This idea is basic to appreciating how advertises function.
The most widely recognized versatilities utilized incorporate value flexibility of interest, value
flexibility of supply, cross value flexibility of interest and pay flexibility of interest.
The Equation of Elasticity is = % of change in quantity / % of change in price.
Elasticity of Demand :
Elasticity of Demand also referred to as Price Elasticity of Demand in Economic measures is based on
the effect of how the quantity demanded is changed when there is change in the price. With respect to
price it is the quantity demanded responsiveness degree. For example lets consider a case in the below
figure, where there is elastic demand when the curve is almost flat. You can see that, the quantity
decreases a lot if there is a change in price from $.75 to $1. There can be many reasons for this On the
off chance that demand is extremely inelastic, then vast changes in cost won t do particularly to the
amount requested. For example,

Leaders and Managers in Health Care
Leaders and Managers Impact on Health Care
Healthy working areas are necessary in preserving positive interactions amongst nurses and between
the patients and the nurses. The stressors within nursing may cause burnout and nonattendance or
absenteeism which then may cause a shortage in health care (Shirey, 2006). A leader is vital in helping
to maintain retention of the nursing population as this person will have positive influence on the
environment where nurses practice. A smooth operating environment is likely to have excellent results
for the nurse and the patient. This paper will talk about the nurse to patient ratio, describe leadership
with management, along with a contrast and compare of the two. Furthermore, this paper will ... Show

The manager approach to the nurse to patient ratio may be more indirect. Managers tend to
communicate with nurse leaders regarding work conditions in the unit. At the level of management,
performance matters most and patient satisfaction is important. As long as nurses perform to the best
of their ability, patient satisfaction will increase. In nursing, the management process consists of
gathering data, planning, organizing and administrating staff, leadership, and control. Viewed as a
management activity, the allocation of staff entails the maintenance of a proper workers to work ratio
and is therefore essential for a favorable outcome (Fagerstrom, 2009).
Leadership is influencing people and in contrast, management involves influencing employees to meet
goals and is focused primarily on organizational goals and objectives (Huber, 2010). A few contrasts
are mentioned within the textbook reading. The leader focuses on people, whereas the manager
focuses on systems and structures. A leader innovates whereas a manager administers. And managers
cope with complexity whereas leaders cope with change. (Huber, 2010)
Approach to Leadership
The leadership approach suits this writer s nursing philosophy. This writer believes in similar values as
that of a leader. This writer does her best work on the front lines of nursing; collaborating with teams,
communicating with fellow nurses, and coordinating patient care. This writer is motivated by

The Inspirational System Of The Respiratory System In The...
Research and Report: Module 1
The respiratory system is a very important organ system in the human body. Its purpose is to transport
oxygen to the blood where it can then move through the bloodstream to oxygenate all parts of the
human body. The organs in the respiratory system consist of the nasal cavity, pharynx, larynx, trachea,
bronchi, and lungs. Each organ plays an important role in respiration. The nasal cavity is the organ
through which oxygen enters the body. This is the most superiorly and superficially located of the
respiratory organs. Located posterior to the nose, the nasal cavity is a hollow space inside the skull
that is lined with hairs and mucus membranes that help filter environmental contaminates, such as
pollen and dust, out of the air before it moves to the next organ, the pharynx. The pharynx is located
inferiorly to the nasal cavity. The pharynx is a muscular, tube shaped organ that allows air to travel
through both the nasal cavity and the mouth into the superior portion of the larynx. As the air makes
its way to the next organ it must pass through the epiglottis, which is a cartilage flap that protects from
accidental inhalation of food and liquids. The next organ is the larynx which is located inferiorly to the
pharynx. This is a short tube shaped organ that is primarily constructed of cartilage. The larynx houses
the vocal folds which are mucus membranes that vibrate at variable speeds while air is passing
through to produce vocal sounds.

your sins to God, maintain a person relationship with God and accept that Jesus crucified himself on
the cross. The Islam path to salvation is living in the way of Allah and pleasing him. Forgiveness is
majority of the Holy Bible and there are more than 50 verses about it. In the Qur an, Allah does not
forgive except infrequently on an arbitrary act, which means he forgives on bases of random choice,
rather than for any reason or system. The view of Islamic religion is respected as another fellow
monotheistic religion, but have differences between the Trinity, Forgiveness, Jesus and Salvation. In

[3] Comparing the first and second experiments, we see that if [I ] is tripled, the rate triples. Therefore the reaction is first order in [I ]. Comparing the first and third experiments, we see that if [S2O8 2] is tripled, the rate also triples. Therefore the reaction is also first order in [I ]. The rate law is therefore rate = k[I ][S2O8 2], overall order is second order. (b) Calculate the rate constant (with the correct units) for this reaction. [2] Using the first experiment (we could use any of the three), we have: (c) The decomposition reaction of NOBr is second order in [NOBr], with a rate constant of 25 L mol 1 min 1. • 5. The Relativity Of Deviance And The Sociological Theory The Relativity of Deviance Deviance in sociological terms can be defined as any form of deviation from the social norms, or laws. Additionally, deviance is considered relative, as in what constitutes as deviant varies from person to person. Howard S. Becker, an American sociologist and researcher of deviancy once stated, It s not the act itself, but the reactions to the act, that makes something deviant (Becker/Henslin 1966). In other words, any action or behavior that draws a reaction out of someone could theoretically be a deviant act. However, Becker wasn t the first sociologist fascinated with deviancy, nor will he be the last. Since the late eighteen hundreds sociologists have gained a considerable perspective regarding deviancy, consequently coming up with three primary theories explaining its significance and function. Sociologist Émile Durkheim explained deviance through a functionalist approach. Durkheim explains that, deviance has several functions, it clarifies norms and increases conformity and it strengthens bonds among the people reacting to the deviant (Barkan 2017). The side effect of this a marginalization of those whose economic or cultural backgrounds don t coincide with the majority. Sociologist Robert Merton states that the result of deviance among the underprivileged is the result of a gap between the cultural emphasis on economic success and the inability to achieve such success (Merton 1938). • 7. Essay Lactose Intolerance Lactose Intolerance Lactose intolerance is the inability to digest significant amounts of lactose, the predominant sugar of milk. This inability results from a shortage of the enzyme lactase, which is normally produced by the cells that line the small intestine. Lactase breaks down milk sugar into simpler forms that can then be absorbed into the bloodstream. When there is not enough lactase to digest the amount of lactose consumed, the results, although not usually dangerous, may be very distressing. While not all persons deficient in lactase have symptoms, those who do are considered to be lactose intolerant. The symptoms listed below are caused by the fermentation ... Common symptoms include nausea, cramps, bloating, gas, and diarrhoea, which begin about 30 minutes to 2 hours after eating or drinking foods containing lactose. The severity of symptoms varies depending on the amount of lactose each individual can tolerate. Some causes of lactose intolerance are well known. For instance, certain digestive diseases and injuries to the small intestine can reduce the amount of enzymes produced. In rare cases, children are born without the ability to produce lactase. For most people, though, lactase deficiency is a condition that develops naturally over time. After about the age of 2 years, the body begins to produce less lactase. This will eventually result in the change of dominance within civilizations to different civilizations. Lastly, he also predicts that the West, Arab nations, such as Saudi Arabia, and China will also have and an increase in cultural conflict with one another. Huntington then goes on to hypothesize that the ultimate source of conflict in this world will not only be ideological or economical but the division between human kind will mostly take place because of the cultural conflict. Landslides can occur virtually anywhere in the world, where climate, precipitation, bedrock and soil conditions and slopes are susceptible to failure. Landslides can occur under water too, along continental slopes and deep sea fans. Landslide can occur in bedrock or on soils; agricultural lands, barren slopes and forests. Both extremely dry areas and very humid areas can be affected by slope failures. Thus, steep slopes are not a necessary prerequisite for landslides to occur. In some cases, gentle slopes as shallow as 1 2 degrees have been observed to fail. However steep slopes are more prone to landslides. In order to remedy this situation, jazz musicians and critics after 1930 began to codify what real jazz encompassed, and more importantly, what real jazz did not encompass. This construction of authenticity, often demarcated along racial lines, served to relegate several artists and styles (those outside a mainstream to the margins of historiography. Although researchers have highlighted the potential application of the culpable control model in examining juror bias (e.g., Nadelhoffer, 2006), results are limited. First, important aspects of the model have been overlooked. Even though spontaneous evaluations are a central tenet of the culpable control model, many studies have not measured them directly (e.g., Alicke, 1994; Alicke Zell, 2009; Mazzocco, Alicke, Davis, 2004). Second, the generalizability of the model is restricted. According to Alicke (2000), extralegal factors, such as social category, gender, race, or reputation, may trigger negative spontaneous evaluations; however, researchers have primarily focused on social attractiveness (e.g., Alicke, 1994; Alicke Zell, 2009). Many other HEXA mutations have been discovered since then, including different mutations within different populations. This disease has shown to be prevalent in certain populations in recent years. Those of Ashkenazi Jewish descent are one of these populations, being more prone to the infantile form of Tay Sachs disease, caused by a base pair insertion leading to the mutation. More research has led us to believe that compound heterozygosity is ultimately responsible for the disease s variability among different populations. • 41. Elasticity Of Demand And Supply Elasticity of Demand and Supply INTRODUCTION: Elasticity : In Economics, how responsive an economic variable is to a change in another is the measurement of elasticity. It is an unit free measure. By using Elasticities, we can measure the two markets of price and quantity. The difference among markets can be quantified by the economist using elasticities without the measurement of the units. It is the responsiveness of one variable (demand or supply) to a change in another (e.g. cost). This idea is basic to appreciating how advertises function. The most widely recognized versatilities utilized incorporate value flexibility of interest, value flexibility of supply, cross value flexibility of interest and pay flexibility of interest. The Equation of Elasticity is = % of change in quantity / % of change in price. Elasticity of Demand : Elasticity of Demand also referred to as Price Elasticity of Demand in Economic measures is based on the effect of how the quantity demanded is changed when there is change in the price. With respect to price it is the quantity demanded responsiveness degree. For example lets consider a case in the below figure, where there is elastic demand when the curve is almost flat. You can see that, the quantity decreases a lot if there is a change in price from $.75 to $1. There can be many reasons for this On the off chance that demand is extremely inelastic, then vast changes in cost won t do particularly to the amount requested. For example, ... Its purpose is to transport oxygen to the blood where it can then move through the bloodstream to oxygenate all parts of the human body. The organs in the respiratory system consist of the nasal cavity, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, and lungs. Each organ plays an important role in respiration. The nasal cavity is the organ through which oxygen enters the body. This is the most superiorly and superficially located of the respiratory organs. Located posterior to the nose, the nasal cavity is a hollow space inside the skull that is lined with hairs and mucus membranes that help filter environmental contaminates, such as pollen and dust, out of the air before it moves to the next organ, the pharynx. The pharynx is located inferiorly to the nasal cavity. The pharynx is a muscular, tube shaped organ that allows air to travel through both the nasal cavity and the mouth into the superior portion of the larynx. As the air makes its way to the next organ it must pass through the epiglottis, which is a cartilage flap that protects from accidental inhalation of food and liquids.
