2. Process
• Firstly, I chose the best picture that I
took of the cake so that I could have
enough room in the sides to add the
cover lines. In the masthead, I used
the font Typo Round Thin Italic which
I think that matched with the
photography making it stand out
more. I found the barcode on internet
and rotated using the transform tool
(CMD + T). In the date of the
magazine I chose a different font so
that it could make it looks a little bit
different from the masthead. To make
the company logo, I used the rounded
rectangle tool to create the 3
rounded squares and rotated them to
make it different from existing
companies, for example, the BBC
logo.
3. Process
• Finally, I started adding the cover
lines around the cake and with the
black background makes the fonts
stand out more, which make the
content readable. Using white for
the texts I had to add some effects
in the last couple of cover lines so
that it could be more different
from the background. In the blobs
I used the adobe color cc so that I
could find the colours to make a
bit of changing between the
colours. I used green which
matches with the kiwi on the top
of the cake. I think the cover was
quite simple. Having different fonts
will make the audience focus on
the cake and will draw their
attention to the cover lines to
know what is inside the magazine.
4. Process
• In the title of the double page
spread I chose the same font that I
used on the front cover, Savoye LET
Plain. I think this font makes the
audience interested in reading the
article. I rotated the font and
changed the spaces between the
texts, then I added the number and
rotated a bit so that it could fit with
the title. After that I chose the
images that I wanted to use in the
double page spread and cut the
spaces that I didn’t want to use,
making the images into squares. To
make the border around each image
I used the layer style to add the
stroke line and changed the opacity
of the line. In the pages numbers I
used the font Minion Pro Regular to
match with the texts.
5. Process
• Using the rounded rectangle I created
three boxes in the same size and
changed the opacity to 70% so that it
couldn’t make the background
disappear. I started to write the
recipes into sections so that the
audience could know the name and
the photography of each recipe. For
the name of the desserts, I used the
same font that I used for the tittle of
the double page so that could match
with the title and the front cover.
• Finally, I created the logos using again
the colour scheme that I created using
the images and I used red inside and
white outside to make it stand out
more. I found the examples on the
internet and changed the colours and
the shapes using the magic hand tool
to select the parts that I wanted to
use and I changed the colours.
