Luke Simpson created a promotional website for his short film using Wix. He embedded a link to his film on YouTube and included information about an upcoming screening at the New Earswick Folk Hall, including a map. He used Facebook to promote both of his film screenings, allowing him to reach a wider audience without cost. Another screening opportunity was at the New Earswick Folk Hall on the 24th, where the class helped organize showing all of their films and having prizes for first, second, and third place winners. Luke will also show his film at the end of year show, where the class will invite families and show a reel of all their films and computer work in the lecture theater and classrooms
2. Wix
I used wix to make a promotional website for my short film. I made it simple like
most film websites are. I put a link to my film. I also put on that we will be showing
our film at New Earswick Folk Hall. So I put a map to show everyone where it is. I kept
the colour quite dark to match the theme of my film. I tried to make my website as
professional as possible. I didn’t want to make it look busy I wanted to took quite
only showing relevant information. I have a link to my Third Eye website on my FMP
page on my website.
3. YouTube
I posted my short film on YouTube. It is out there in the open world so anyone will
see and find it and also watch it. It is also easy for them to send feedback because
they can justcomment on the video. They can also like or dislike the video and then
well I can see if they like or dislike my film. I also have to youse youtibe to put my
film on the website because I embed the YouTube clip in the website. YouTube is a
great place to share clips and videos because a lot of professionals use it for feed
back and also promotion. Also a lot of people can get jobs just by putting videos
from YouTube if they are good enough.
4. Facebook
I used face book to promote both of our film showings. We have done one for
our showing at New Earswick Folk Hall. Using Facebook we can reach a wider
audience to get people to come and watch our films. We don’t have to pay to
advertise our showing because we make it as a post and everyone in our class
has shared it so it can go to everyone's family and friends and then they will
share it and so on and so on. And we will do the same for the end of year show.
On the Facebook page we put a little show reel of clips from all of our film lie a
30 second clip from each film and we also made a little poster for each of our
films and made it into a banner.
5. New Earswick Folk Hall
Another way I will be able to show film will be at the New Earswick Folk Hall on the
evening of the 24th we will be showing all of our classes films in the New Earswick Folk
Hall. This is a great oppatunity to show our hard wok to friends and family and anyone
else really who would like to see our work. As a class we help organised the show but
mainly kiren and fraiser they where the ones to organise it but the rest of the class helped
with promotion and how the night will go. We used facebook to pramote our film and
make people come and see the films. It took us a while to get everything sorted out
because it took them ages to reply to the emails that we sent to them. The screening will
be good because we will show all our films and we will have some prizes for First place,
Second place and Third place. We have decided to split the showing in half so halfway
through we will have an intermission and we will have some music playing and some
drinks.
6. End Of Year Show
I will also show my film at the end of year show. Here we will invite family
to the college and we will set a show reel of all of our films in th eklecture
theater and also in some class room. We will also show some of our work on
our computers so family will see what we have made. As a class we will be
organising this again, putting posters around the college and alos around
york and on facebook. We will also do a face book post. We will also sort
our refreshments for the guest who come. We want this to feel like a final
congratulations to us as a class.
