ICT refers to all technologies used for communication and includes hardware, software, and other tools used to transmit, store, create, share, and exchange information. ICT has a scope in education by allowing anyone access to information and research, enabling difficult experiments and surgeries to be viewed, and facilitating effective training through tools like LCD projectors. ICT positively impacts education by ensuring lifelong learning through e-learning, enabling distance learning as teachers can instruct dispersed students, and allowing access to teaching materials and experts worldwide through video conferencing. However, ICT also has negative impacts such as high costs, distracting students and teachers' focus from content to the technology itself, and potentially decreasing children's imagination.
