the Business
Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
1. determine the 4M’s of production;
2. describe each of the 4M’s in relation to the business
opportunity; and
3. apply the 4M’s of production in the chosen busines
venture.
Activity 2: Watch
and Focus!
• You will be grouped into four (4) and you will watch a short video in baking Chocolate Bundt Cake.
• Each group will be given 2 minutes to determine the assigned M of production by answering the
guide questions. Just refer your answer on the video presented.
• After 2 minutes, each group representative will present your output promptly.
Group 1: What are the ingredients in baking chocolate bundt cake?
What M of production do ingredients belong?
Group 2: What are the equipment used in baking chocolate bundt cake?
What M of production does equipment belong?
Group 3: What are the procedures in baking chocolate bundt cake?
What M of production does procedure belong?
Group 4: What do you call to the person who bakes cake?
What M of production does the person who bakes cake belong?
How can we maximize the output
during production?
• Do the equipment important during production?
Why?
• How about the method of production, is this
important? Why?
• If your manpower in production do not know their
job, would you have a good production?
• So, how are you going to choose your manpower for your
production?

- represents the day-to-day operation of
a business
- describe how the entrepreneur will run
the business such as manufacturing of
goods, service delivery process,
distribution of goods and services, logistics
for delivery of goods and inventory
management.
Manpower
- the human labor force involved in
the manufacture of products
- is one of the highest cost of
operating the business, but also the
most instrumental to its success
Manpower
consider the following:
 job description
 employee qualification
 job offer
 employee development
Machines
- are the manufacturing equipment used
in the production of goods or delivery
services
- also pertain to new technologies
- tools, durable equipment, and the
physical plant are also part of it
Machines
Entrepreneur should consider:
 Types of products to be produced
 Production system to be adopted
 Cost of the equipment
 Capacity of the equipment
 Availability of spare parts in the local
market
Materials
can include but is not limited to
raw and processed material
components, parts, assemblies,
sub-assemblies, fuels, lubricants,
coolants, cleaning agents, and
small tools and accessories that
may be consumed directly or
indirectly.

 Quality
 Availability
 Credibility of suppliers
 waste

Prove It!
 Suppose that you are going to put up a new business
venture, how will you plan to do your operations? What
Method will you use? Who will you hire for a specific task?
Will you use Machineries? How about the materials? Fill the

  • 11. The 4M's of Production in Relation to the Business
  • 12. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to: 1. determine the 4M’s of production; 2. describe each of the 4M’s in relation to the business opportunity; and 3. apply the 4M’s of production in the chosen busines venture.

Activity 2: Watch and Focus! • You will be grouped into four (4) and you will watch a short video in baking Chocolate Bundt Cake. • Each group will be given 2 minutes to determine the assigned M of production by answering the guide questions. Just refer your answer on the video presented. • After 2 minutes, each group representative will present your output promptly. Group 1: What are the ingredients in baking chocolate bundt cake? What M of production do ingredients belong? Group 2: What are the equipment used in baking chocolate bundt cake? What M of production does equipment belong? Group 3: What are the procedures in baking chocolate bundt cake? What M of production does procedure belong? Group 4: What do you call to the person who bakes cake? What M of production does the person who bakes cake belong?

  • 17. 4M's of Operation It is the process, testing, and commercializing a product or service with the ultimate objective of solving the problem of the primary target market

  • 19. Method - represents the day-to-day operation of a business - describe how the entrepreneur will run the business such as manufacturing of goods, service delivery process, distribution of goods and services, logistics for delivery of goods and inventory management.
  • 20. Manpower - the human labor force involved in the manufacture of products - is one of the highest cost of operating the business, but also the most instrumental to its success
  • 21. Manpower consider the following:  job description  employee qualification  job offer  employee development
  • 22. Machines - are the manufacturing equipment used in the production of goods or delivery services - also pertain to new technologies - tools, durable equipment, and the physical plant are also part of it
  • 23. Machines Entrepreneur should consider:  Types of products to be produced  Production system to be adopted  Cost of the equipment  Capacity of the equipment  Availability of spare parts in the local market
  • 24. Materials can include but is not limited to raw and processed material components, parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies, fuels, lubricants, coolants, cleaning agents, and small tools and accessories that may be consumed directly or indirectly.
