Yaakov left his fatherโ€™s house and went to Choron, to his uncle
Lavan. He stayed there for twenty one years. The atmosphere in
Choron, being a place full of Goyim, made fulfilling Torah and
Mitzvos - particularly Chinuch - very difficult. Nevertheless,
Yaakov not only survived with his Yiddishkeit intact, but
flourished! He succeeded in raising the twelve shvotim, a
generation of pious, devout and committed Jews.
Yaakov received the necessary strength to do so from the
malochim of Eretz Yisroel. Before leaving Eretz Yisroel, the
malochim escorted him, protected him and his belongings and
gave him the strength he would need to survive, and thrive, in
Choron.
When Yaakov, having fulfilled his purpose in Choron,
returned to Eretz Yisroel, these malochim of Eretz Yisroel
returned to escort Yaakov once again. This time however, they
were not there for his protection, rather, for his honor.
This story of Yaakov is also our story, the story of the Yidden.
We were sent from Eretz Yisroel to Choron - Golus, where it
is extremely difficult to fulfill Torah and Mitzvos. The purpose
of this is to be mevarer the Golus, to bring Eretz Yisroel into
Golus.
Before we were sent into Golus however, malochim came to
protect us. We are given the necessary strength to fulfill our
mission.
Now that we are at the end of Golus and the world is ready
for the Geulah, the malochim are no longer here to give us
strength, rather they are now malochim of honor, to escort us
into Eretz Yisroel and prepare us for the Geulah.

In the Sicha of Gimmel Tammuz 5748, the Rebbe spoke of Moshiachโ€™s imminent arrival, and
explained that even if our avoda is incomplete, we must still demand for the Geula - ad mosai. Since
the Geula is in Hashemโ€™s hands.
)Based on Likkutei Sichos Vol. 25 Vayeitzei(
Since the Geulah will not come with our own strength,
rather through our father our king may He be blessed, it is
therefore understood, and even obvious, that our lack of
deeds and actions to hasten the Geulah is by no means a
reason to hold up, for even one moment, Hashemโ€™s task -
โ€œto redeem us, gather in our dispersed and lead us upright
to our holy land, through Moshiach Tzidkeinu, speedily in
our days, Amen.โ€
How much more so now that โ€œall predestined dates (for
the arrival of Moshiach) have passed,โ€ and all the work is
over - even the โ€œpolishing of the buttons,โ€ certainly the
Geulah must come immediately!
Therefore, all that was mentioned about the
function of every Yid to involve himself in the
dissemination of Torah and Yiddishkeit, does not
weaken whatsoever, Chas Vesholom, the request
and demand for the Geulah with the entire
firmness - โ€œAd Mosaiโ€!
There is an opinion
that holds that
the Chasidei Umos
Haโ€™olam (the righteous
Goyim) will experience
Techiyas Hameisim as
well.

Our Parsha tells us about the descent of Yaakov Avinu to Choron. Yaakov worked many years by the evil Lavan, and was
very prosperous. Finally Yaakov left Choron, and โ€œangels of Hashem met up with him.โ€ Chassidus explains that the story of
Yaakov Avinu is emblematic of the Yidden going into Golus.
The Yidden go into Golus in order to purify even the lowest elements and elevate them to their holy source. At the conclusion of the
Yiddenโ€™s Avodah will be the final ascent, symbolized by the โ€œangels of Hashem.โ€
Right after Yaakov left Choron, Lavan runs after him and expresses his dismay in Yaakovโ€™s (sudden) departure. During Lavanโ€™s rebuke
You left (my house suddenly), because you yearned (to go back home),โ€ repeating the words โ€œ โ€“ โ€ื”ืœื•ืš ื”ืœื›ืช ื›ื™ ื ื›ืกื•ืฃ ื ื›ืกืคืชื”โ€œ of Yaakov he says
โ€˜you leftโ€™ and โ€˜you yearned.
Throughout the entire time that Yaakov was in Golus, he was constantly โ€˜leavingโ€™ the Golus and yearning for the Geulah. He knew that
Golus wasnโ€™t his place, thus he was leaving, and leaving yet again, yearning and yearning yet again.
The Alter Rebbe says that we must live with the times, meaning with the Parsha of the week.
We must know that the entire Golus is only for the aliyah (ascent) of the Geulah. We are traveling on to the Geulah!
In the Rebbeโ€™s words: We are yearning for the Geulah - when will the Geulah come already? Even after our Neshama โ€˜leaves usโ€™ in
yearning for the Geulah, if the Geulah has still not come we donโ€™t stop yearning! We yearn and yearn further, because Moshiach still isnโ€™t
here, so how can we stop yearning!?!

LIVING LESSONS
Beginning in the 5720s, Crown Heights has hosted
student groups for "Encounter with Chabad" weekends. In
the earlier years, one of the highlights of the weekend was
the Yechidus which the students had with the Rebbe.
In one such Yechidus a student asked the Rebbe: Do you
believe that Moshiach will come within the next fifty years?
The Rebbe responded: Much sooner! Don't postpone it for
so long! The Rebbe then explained at great length how the
world is changing for the better, and is inching ever closer
to Moshiach.

He stayed there for twenty one years. The atmosphere in Choron, being a place full of Goyim, made fulfilling Torah and Mitzvos - particularly Chinuch - very difficult. Nevertheless, Yaakov not only survived with his Yiddishkeit intact, but flourished! He succeeded in raising the twelve shvotim, a generation of pious, devout and committed Jews. Yaakov received the necessary strength to do so from the malochim of Eretz Yisroel. Before leaving Eretz Yisroel, the malochim escorted him, protected him and his belongings and gave him the strength he would need to survive, and thrive, in Choron. When Yaakov, having fulfilled his purpose in Choron, returned to Eretz Yisroel, these malochim of Eretz Yisroel returned to escort Yaakov once again. This time however, they were not there for his protection, rather, for his honor. This story of Yaakov is also our story, the story of the Yidden. We were sent from Eretz Yisroel to Choron - Golus, where it is extremely difficult to fulfill Torah and Mitzvos. The purpose of this is to be mevarer the Golus, to bring Eretz Yisroel into Golus. Before we were sent into Golus however, malochim came to protect us. We are given the necessary strength to fulfill our mission. Now that we are at the end of Golus and the world is ready for the Geulah, the malochim are no longer here to give us strength, rather they are now malochim of honor, to escort us into Eretz Yisroel and prepare us for the Geulah. In the Sicha of Gimmel Tammuz 5748, the Rebbe spoke of Moshiachโ€™s imminent arrival, and explained that even if our avoda is incomplete, we must still demand for the Geula - ad mosai. Since the Geula is in Hashemโ€™s hands. )Based on Likkutei Sichos Vol. 25 Vayeitzei( Since the Geulah will not come with our own strength, rather through our father our king may He be blessed, it is therefore understood, and even obvious, that our lack of deeds and actions to hasten the Geulah is by no means a reason to hold up, for even one moment, Hashemโ€™s task - โ€œto redeem us, gather in our dispersed and lead us upright to our holy land, through Moshiach Tzidkeinu, speedily in our days, Amen.โ€ How much more so now that โ€œall predestined dates (for the arrival of Moshiach) have passed,โ€ and all the work is over - even the โ€œpolishing of the buttons,โ€ certainly the Geulah must come immediately! Therefore, all that was mentioned about the function of every Yid to involve himself in the dissemination of Torah and Yiddishkeit, does not weaken whatsoever, Chas Vesholom, the request and demand for the Geulah with the entire firmness - โ€œAd Mosaiโ€! There is an opinion that holds that the Chasidei Umos Haโ€™olam (the righteous Goyim) will experience Techiyas Hameisim as well. Yaakov worked many years by the evil Lavan, and was very prosperous. Finally Yaakov left Choron, and โ€œangels of Hashem met up with him.โ€ Chassidus explains that the story of Yaakov Avinu is emblematic of the Yidden going into Golus. The Yidden go into Golus in order to purify even the lowest elements and elevate them to their holy source. At the conclusion of the Yiddenโ€™s Avodah will be the final ascent, symbolized by the โ€œangels of Hashem.โ€ Right after Yaakov left Choron, Lavan runs after him and expresses his dismay in Yaakovโ€™s (sudden) departure. During Lavanโ€™s rebuke You left (my house suddenly), because you yearned (to go back home),โ€ repeating the words โ€œ โ€“ โ€ื”ืœื•ืš ื”ืœื›ืช ื›ื™ ื ื›ืกื•ืฃ ื ื›ืกืคืชื”โ€œ of Yaakov he says โ€˜you leftโ€™ and โ€˜you yearned.โ€™ Throughout the entire time that Yaakov was in Golus, he was constantly โ€˜leavingโ€™ the Golus and yearning for the Geulah. He knew that Golus wasnโ€™t his place, thus he was leaving, and leaving yet again, yearning and yearning yet again. Even after our Neshama โ€˜leaves usโ€™ in yearning for the Geulah, if the Geulah has still not come we donโ€™t stop yearning! We yearn and yearn further, because Moshiach still isnโ€™t here, so how can we stop yearning!?! LIVING LESSONS Beginning in the 5720s, Crown Heights has hosted student groups for "Encounter with Chabad" weekends. In the earlier years, one of the highlights of the weekend was the Yechidus which the students had with the Rebbe. In one such Yechidus a student asked the Rebbe: Do you believe that Moshiach will come within the next fifty years? The Rebbe responded: Much sooner! Don't postpone it for so long! The Rebbe then explained at great length how the world is changing for the better, and is inching ever closer to Moshiach.
