4. INTRODUCTION:
Almost each and everything around us can be considered a 3D
shape. These objects surround our daily lives. A lot of times, they
go unnoticed.
In geometry, a three-dimensional shape can be defined as a
figure or an object or that has three dimensions – length, width
and height. Unlike two-dimensional shapes, three-dimensional
shapes have thickness or depth. The attributes of a three-
dimensional figure are faces, edges and vertices.

5. WHAT ARE THREE DIMENSIONAL FIGURES?
An object that has height, width and depth, like any object in the real world.
These figures are solid or hollow
They are also called solid geometric figures

6. PROPERTIES OF 3D SHAPES:
Faces
• A face is a flat or curved surface on a 3D shape. For example a cube has
six faces, a cylinder has three and a sphere has just one.
Edges
• An edge is where two faces meet. For example a cube has 12 edges, a
cylinder has two and a sphere has none.
Vertices
• A vertex is a corner where edges meet. The plural is vertices. For example
a cube has eight vertices, a cone has one vertex and a sphere has none.
